This was our first time staying at Holiday Acres and we could not have been happier with our stay. I love that they have dog friendly cabins. We booked which was a perfect spot near the lake. All of the people near us were great and the property is beautiful. We took advantage of the trails every day. The beach was fantastic as well. Restaurant/bar onsite a huge bonus. Alex was wonderful at check-in to give us the scoop of everything we needed. Can’t wait to go back!

Most relaxing, stress-free vacation we've ever had. No lines, no traffic, no crabby kids. Staff was great. Shuffle board, kayaking, the pool, the beach, the restaurants were all fantastic. Even though resort was booked full, it felt like we practically had the place to ourselves. Very safe, secure, friendly resort. Will definitely go back.

It is family friendly and pet friendly but dogs can’t go on the beach.

Choose from traditional rooms in the lodge, one of 30 cottages, and two large houses. Such a beautiful setting on Lake Thompson. Employees were kind and efficient. We would absolutely stay here again!

Such a great place! My first experience will not be my last. I only had 4 days to take it all in and I only had the opportunity to do 25% of all the activities the resort has to offer!

Great place to stay — kids love big rooms, very descent pool and sauna. Have restaurant on site you must try. Have very affordable cross — country skiing rental.

Great food, beautiful atmosphere.

We had our rehearsal dinner/pool party as well as our reception here. Kim and his staff were nothing short of spectacular. The food was amazing. So many of our guests told us how incredible the food was. I can’t say enough about the staff, from top down! The cabins were fantastic! Wedding or not, this is a place you must experience!

Had our wedding here this past weekend and they did an excellent job! food was beyond savory. Helpfulness and friendliness of staff was beyond our expectations. We had a very fun weekend and could not have asked for a better wedding!

Stayed here last weekend. Stumbled upon it by accident. Is it dated? Yes. Is it meager? Yes. … Does it lack modern accessories? Yes. Is the food delicious? Oh YES! Did I love it so much it hurts? YES! Will I return? YES! Is the staff simply amazing and awesome? Yes! Yes! And YES!

Mother’s Day buffet at Holiday Acres was absolutely phenomenal. Excellent selection of food, literally something for everyone. I even managed to stay low carb! We were all impressed by the speed of the omelet bar, we even had some of our omelets best is back to the table. We will definitely be back again!

Used to come here every summer with my family. Great sense of nostalgia! Lovely place.

We stayed at Holiday Acres for three nights this week. The front desk people were very friendly and attentive. The cabin was very clean, we loved it. We ate at the restaurant two of the three nights that we stayed there. The first night we enjoyed three of their nice selection of appetizers. Everyone of them were delicious. Last night we enjoyed a couple different appetizers and the pan fried walleye. Again, very good. I shopped at the Turn of the Century. Had a very nice visit with Kari. We enjoyed our get away. If I were to say only one negative comment, the server on Wednesday night did not want us to have a cloth napkin at the bar. We wanted silverware and a napkin. She told my husband, "We only give people, paper napkins in the bar. " She wasn't very attentive after that encounter. We are in the same industry as the Zambon family, and I think that they are doing a very good job. The hospitality industry is tough business. I guess we can't please everyone.

The owners are such down to earth people. What a pleasure to be there. We had the brunch on Sunday and it was terrific. So much history at a magical place. We will definitely be back again and again.

Best sunsets and even better when sharing with friends and family. Been going as family since 1972. Love our little red cabin by the lake and the whole Zambon family.

We were out enjoying a farewell dinner with friends who are moving out of state. The food looked amazing — tasted great. I woke up at 12:40 feeling extremely ill. I was up until 3:00! I am still suffering this morning. My opinion, the staff is must not properly trained on the transfer of harmful organisms from one surface to another — cross contamination; Food Poisoning! … I had a salad, cream sauce and seafood. Foods that are high risk for food poisoning! I am very unhappy … very ill … won’t be back, EVER!

Friday Buffet was great; a wonderful array of seafood, chicken and ham with salad bar and desserts. It's one of my favorite Northwoods destinations.

Our stay at Holiday acres has always been a pleasure. The people are nice, the food is delicious, and there is always something to do. We have been going for over 15 years in a row. It's always nice to come back up and experience the outdoors at this resort.

Ate at the 3 coins Restaurant. The Chefs food is SUPERB! The bacon wrapped shrimp, simple yet perfect. Mushroom tart delicious with the blue cheeses acidity cutting the richness of the mushrooms perfectly. Beer battered walleye with rosti potatoes, excellent. Pork tenderloin, apple chutney, maple cream sauce, tremendous. Salmon was served with fried spinach, WOW! Service was sub par, but the food made up for it. Go eat there!

A welcoming atmosphere. Visit turn of the century shop for sure. One if my favorite places. Kim and Kari always welcoming.

We stayed there for a week or so when we moved to Wisconsin. We loved how it was lakefront and how the rooms were pretty enjoyable, especially for the cost. Having the row boat right next to the cabin was super fun. I would have given this a 5/5 if the mothers day brunch would have been better. It was just a big mess. The food was okay at best and there was almost no service.

Most incredible resort. Have been twice and loved it every single time. I wouldn't go anywhere else for my weekend.

We stayed one night. Check in was fast and friendly. You get the old style keys to open doors. Our room was spacoius with a gas fireplace and fridge. The fireplace was welcomed on the cold night. My only disappointment is that the restaurant was closed because it's a slow part of the season. Would definitely go back!

Beautiful location. The rooms are excellent quality. The pool is very nice. The lake shore and neaby forest is breathtaking. The food is fantastic and very pleasant to look at. Hosted events here are very well presented nd and the staff is very helpful and courteous. If I had to choose something that I was unhappy about, I would have to say that the price are petty high for the area.

Came just to try the drinks and the food at Three Coins and dinner was a wonderful experience. Had the duck and the elk plates and some of the drink recommendations from the staff. Beautiful space and good service.

I showed up at 3pm to check in and I was told my check in time was 4pm. I asked if I was able to get the key anyway because I was going into tomahawk and would not be back until late in the evening. I was told no. They did not want me walking in on the maid service people. I said I would not go near the room until I returned and I was given a are you stupid look and was once again told my check in time was 4pm. When I returned about 10pm I went to the desk and was given my key. When I stated what he'd happened the women openly laughed.
When I went outside to leave for tomahawk one of the grounds keepers walked past me and smiled, he then said looks like rain and giggled. I was on a motorcycle so he apparently got a kick out of that prospect.
In the morning I went down to get some breakfast and when I went to the restaurant there were a few people there and apparently a sizable party had just been seated. I stood for ten minutes and saw desperation on the other patrons faces so I decided I would get breakfast sooner elsewhere. They are severely understaffed from the looks of it.
In conclusion I would like to state that the customer service and curtesy is severely lacking. I would expect service of this level at a cheap fleebag location but they were getting good money for there rooms. The room was nice and fairly clean. I had to laugh at the tip envelope that was left in the room.

I went to Holiday Acres for dinner and loved it! The meals were reasonably priced but delicious, and the atmosphere was quiet and serene. My family goes here to eat once a year while on vacation. Everyone always enjoys their dinner.

We had a big group of about 12 come in for a Friday fish fry and loved our entire experience at Holiday Acres! Their drinks at the bar were delicious and the food was just as great! Despite it being a Friday night, we got all of our food in a timely manner and the entire staff was very friendly. They have a great patio as well, which we decided to utilize after dinner! We definitely plan to go back again.

Wonderful place to get away and enjoy the Northwoods. The staff is great, the food is amazing and the atmosphere is top shelf.

What a great supper club! This gem is hidden away and it's part of Holiday Acres Resort, but open to the public. When we got to the resturant we spent a couple minutes exploring the main office and looking around the grounds. All the staff we talked to were extremely friendly and welcoming. I was so impressed with the resort and everything it offers I now want to vacation there some day! We went to the bar to have a drink before our meal. After our cocktails and great conversation with our bartender we went to our table. We all opted to have their Friday night buffet. We could not resist it! What an amazing selection of food, mostly focusing on seafood, but there were plenty of other options for people looking for something outside of the seafood category. The food was all well seasoned and tasted homemade. No generic boring buffet food here. The baked chicken was a nice break from the usual broasted chicken you have at supper clubs. It was seasoned well and moist! Some of the other highlights of the buffet were the clam chowder and potato pancakes. Our server was friendly and very attentive. Service and high quality food like this is hard to find these days. Can't wait to return!

Holiday Acres is immaculate. The staff are incredibly friendly and the property has so much to do hiking boating, tennis, and I'd wonderful for just relaxing.

Food and service sucks. Waited almost 2 hours on service and food. When food arrived Ida FINALLY, it was definitely NOT what we paid for. You pay decent money for food, you expect it to taste somewhat decent and meet your expectations. Well, they FAILED miserably. Will NEVER go back. Rate it a (MINUS 10) — 10 on a scale of 1 to 10.

I attended the wedding of my niece on Oct. 25. My whole family had rooms for the weekend and I can honestly say that we enjoyed everything about your resort! The accommodations were excellent, the buffets in the restaurant were very good, and the meal for the wedding reception was excellent! I would recommend your resort with a 5 star overall rating! I will definitely be back again to enjoy your Beautiful Resort! I really thought that the view overlooking the lake from the rooms was a beautiful fall picturesque view! Excellent, Excellent, Excellent.

My family and I live in Madison and have driven up to stay here twice now. Terrific locally owned resort, beautiful lake and forest, friendly staff. The family cabins are exactly right — — not pretentious but not too "fisherman's shack" rustic either. We'll make this a regular place to vacation, without a doubt. Very clean, good internet access, super fire pits and sunsets. Wine list? Please. Order an old fashioned, put your feet up by the fire, and give it a rest already. Eat a s'more or something.

I took my wife to Holiday Acres for our anniversary on July 3rd. Had never been before and saw that the chef had received some kind of award so thought we'd try. Made reservations for 5:30 and there were only two only other tables with people when we arrived. This didn't prevent the wait staff from disappearing and leaving us with empty drinks etc. The food was lackluster at best. The wine list was extremely poor. I couldn't even find a decent wine by the glass to pair my dinner with. The pork dish that the chef had one awards for was served very under cooked and raw in the middle. We waited for a half hour to get our check even after telling the staff we needed to leave to catch a movie as this was our anniversary. They messed up the check and over-billed the drinks. Overall way too expensive for an extremely sub-par experience and the wait staff needs someone to show them what customer service should be like in a supposed "fine-dining" establishment. Will not return.

Wonderful vacation for any family. Love being up north and you get the outdoorsy feel staying in the cabins. Try to get cabin Its the best. Right by the lake.

We went to the Thanksgiving Jazz evening this year and it was quite enjoyable. Chef 'Tom' is one of the best and the live music provided an up north style club atmosphere. Will come often. Great personal service.
