Dirty and outdated. Due to us using 3rd party blind booking sites, we end up at this Super 8. It's not so bad that you would puke, but it needs a lot of cleaning and updating. The bed is uneven, lumpy, and the springs are worn out. In some of the executive rooms, the beds are not as bad, but are very hard. The carpet in the rooms and hallways are filthy and the floors are dirty in the lobby and walkways. We've been here many times and each time the comforter and blanket underneath the comforter smelled old and we could tell they hadn't been washed recently (most hotels/motels don't wash them after each visit). I always wrap the sheet over the top of the blanket, so it doesn't touch my face. I also lay a shirt or something on my pillow since I don't truly trust that housekeeping changes the linens each time. We've had room with mildew in the caulk at the corners of the tub, but have never had a time when the shower appeared dirty. The toilet, on one occasion, had something light yellow on the hard part behind the toilet seat lid. I didn't know if that was pee, so I complained to the front desk. I also had to complain to the front desk because one of the executive rooms had stuck on food in the microwave that had been there since the last time we had the room. I know this because the food stuck on the microwave plate after we used it during a previous visit, so now I know the microwave wasn't cleaned. The furniture is also extremely outdated. The room also has a motel smell to it even though they call this a hotel. The vending machine is sad, so bring your own snacks and the soda machine is a Coke one. The back door is always unlocked too. It's just gross. On the other hand, the staff is nice and they have a new General Manager named, Rico. I hope he will make desperately necessary changes to this place because we plan on making this our last time being here due to it not being clean enough. Each room has a microwave and fridge, iron amd board, the sink is on the outside of the bathroom (I hate that) and the bathrooms are small. The only toiletries you'll get is a small bottle of lotion, shampoo, and one other thing and a tiny bar of soap. The air conditioner is decent, most times, but very old and loud. There are not enough electrical outlets and hardly any in convenient places. The breakfast consists mostly of cold cereal, waffle maker, packaged cinnamon roll, and fruit and the nastiest apple and orange juice aside from Country Inn and a few other continental breakfast items. To some, this may not be that bad, but I just have a problem with knowing other people were in the room doing whatever and housekeeping didn't properly disinfect the room. I really feel if the Super 8 had a better housekeeping staff who paid attention to details and cleaned as if they saw the germs, then maybe it would be better. They also need to change or clean the carpeting and maybe the place and rooms would smell better. The bed linens need to be cleaned regularly especially since you get a lot of people in and out and some long-term. Sometimes this place seems like a jump-off for guys and girls to do their thang in the rooms, or for people who need a cheap place to stay, but there are also decent, mature people that visit as well. To be fair, I am a bit of a clean freak, so when I visit a hotel and see filthy carpets, the comforter and blankets smell, mold/mildew, dirty microwaves, that is a sign that the germs from the previous people are not cleaned well. I actually buy my own Clorox disinfecting wipes and clean door knobs, handles, toilet, surfaces in the shower, sink counters, lamp push buttons, the remote and anything that requires a touch, I disinfect it. So, it's decent for the price you pay, but only if you don't care about how clean it is or how modern.
