Rooms were beautiful and the staff is wonderful! They're doing a great job during Covid to keep everyone as safe as possible. I will definitely stay here again.

I stayed here for two nights on a business trip to find out that this location is nothing more than an upscale hostel. Lobby — when I came to check in my colleague went to one person standing at the desk, and the other person checking in people was talking to an employee and ignored me for five minutes. During my stay I had a major problem with the shower and lodged a complaint with them down at the front desk the next morning. When I got home after a long day at work the front desk didn’t know if the repair happened or not. I soon came to find out that the issue wasn’t taken care of. I don’t think they have any maintenance people on site. The lobby looks very nice and well decorated although you can see it’s becoming worn. No elevators! Restaurant — In the restaurant were I had breakfast was nice was and good quality. But that’s where the goodness ends. Room — They give you two sets of keys one open the door into the hotel, and one for your room. The rooms are outdated, but the beds seen updated recently and many things are Mickey Mouse in your accommodation. For example the TV is not properly wired and is plugged in right over at sink, I’m sure a violation. I was there during the winter time and the room is heated by an old-fashioned pressure radiator, so you cannot control the heat. Luckily one of the windows was not painted shut so I was able to open that to get some sort of breeze. Behind the radiator, there were some weird bugs.

I enjoyed my stay, as well as the service, I got a room with a kitchenette I was able to cook, and be comfortable in my room, housekeeping was on point… We had breakfast one day, and I enjoyed a very nice drink happy hour featured there… I had a wonderful stay, it was my first time.

Location, ambiance so quiet.

I love older hotels that are well maintained and comfortable. The Plaza is just such a place. My room was simple but featured a full kitchen, huge TV and plenty of room. The Art Deco vibe is also a plus.

And pet friendly, everyone was so accomadating, wonderful dining… great customer service!

Greatest staff ever! They accommodated my family for Mother's Day brunch, including opening up special doors to let my handicapped Father in! Food was delicious, best Mother's Day brunch in years!

Great diner. Come here often for brunch and occasionally for lunch. Always delicious food. Sometimes there can be a bit of a wait but it's worth it. I always order something different and it hasn't let me down. I'd recommend the plaza pleaser if you want to try a bit of everything.

The pancakes melt in your mouth. Wonderful atmosphere. Great place to take friends.

The rooms have a kitchen with a refrigerator, oven, stove, sink, and microwave. The place is clean but is rundown. Even though there is a no smoking policy the hallways still smell like smoke. The Astor is another hotel near that is very similar but is kept in better condition.

Its a pretty good place. Has a cozy, restrauant downstairs that has a kitchen where you can sit at and watch them make your food. The service staff was pretty friendly and the food was great! It's not the Ritz-Carlton but the beds were pretty comfy and the atmosphere was very nice for a stay in the City. Also there is a neat little Market, a Starbucks, and a eatery right around the corner. The rooms were a bit rustic but very charming.

A delightful hotel for those who can appreciate the classical ambience that The Plaza strives to maintain. Located conviently downtown, The Plaza is walking distance from all amenities. Staff is delightful.

Super cool old school deco hotel. Real key for the door! Walkable to lots of dining options and the lake shore. Parking very nearby. Kitchenette will be useful on longer stays. Cons, counter space in bathroom.

Classic retro old school hotel. All the staff are incredible and welcoming. While the rooms aren't exactly modern, they have a very distinct old world charm. The room we had had a built in kitchenette. Rooms were extremely clean and had full service television with every channel, not a limited set. The absolute best part is the cafe downstairs. It has a classic lunch counter and the menu was extraordinary.

My sister & I came to Milwaukee for an event. We wanted to stay as close as we could without paying an arm & a leg. We loved the look & feel of the Plaza. It was close enough to walk to the event-20 minutes, but because of the iffy weather we drove. We did pay $15.00 to park in the lot the hotel has, which is across the street & we payed $10.00 to park in a lot for the event, since parking on the street in virtually impossible. I guess that's just the way it is in the city. The event was by the Riverwalk & we had lunch at Rock Bottom Restaurant & Brewery, which I recommend. The hotel is situated in a neighborhood with so many buildings that house apartments. I love architecture, so walking around the neighborhood was a treat. There's a market across the street which was very convenient. After the event we picked up a pizza & baked it in our room. The only disappointments, though small, was, they had their court yard that's attached to the cafe, closed because of the weather. The day we checked out, we planned to have breakfast in the cafe, but they closed it because of a safety issue. They were very apologetic. Things happen that are out of our control. With that being said, it was suggested that we try the restaurant next to the hotel. I highly recommend Mykonos-best home made corned beef hash ever! I want to give Joe a kudos. He checked us in & out. He was very nice & helped with directions. Full disclosure though-you will be charged $50.

Not crazy about this hotel/apartment. It is closely located to downtown and the coast of lake Michigan. Lots of local attractions around the hotel. Rooms are older but clean. Hotel is unique and not a standard hotel in that the hotel rooms are interspersed with apartments that have permanent tenants. Though the rooms are outdated they do meet most of the needs (bed, bath, kitchen, phone, free Internet and TV).

Each room is unique whether is be different carpeting, bathroom, or kitchen layout. And each room gets an actual key, something I've never experienced before staying here. It sits close to many restaurants, and has it's restaurant and breakfast diner. It's also a short walk from the lake, parks, and places like the Milwaukee Art Museum.

Our home caught fire and burned in the middle of the night. In the wee hours of the morning we wandered into the plaza hotel looking for a room for us and our two little dogs. Not only did this hotel welcome us in they extended help to get us food and supplies the next day. They even stopped up to drop off treats for our dogs. There staff was warm and friendly. And then every morning their restaurant offered an amazing breakfast. In a difficult time it’s hard to imagine a warmer hotel experience. Thank you. Thank you thank you. Tim and Denise.

It was "ok"… for the price you can find better. It was dated, tiny and loud. It was clean and the staff was fantastic, bed was nice. Bathroom was microscopic, had a useless little kitchenette… Its just old school. It was probably really high end 30years ago. Good location in downtown. THIS IS NOT PLAZA NY style… they say 4 star hotel… IT IS NOT. Its a solid 3 star… they need to change their rating…

Staying in Milwaukee for more than one night? The rooms come with actual kitchen set ups, and the prices aren’t bad. Clean rooms, 1920s ambiance, and a great staff. The hotel is still soaked in 1920’s Art Deco architecture and history all the way down to the creaky steam powered heaters in the bedroom. Unfortunately if you’re sensitive to noises at night or just old buildings in general then maybe reconsider another hotel, but even then I suggest walking in and taking a peak at the place.

A traditional hotel with great amenities such as rooms with a partition which leads to the kitchen. The downstairs breakfast bar is about as good as it gets. Aside from the tradition is a great jumping off point towards modern locations.

Nice place. My room didn't have a thermostat and the heater was kind of loud. Great cafe for breakfast/lunch. Will probably be back again.

Not sure if location is Good or not, had a car for my purpose in Milwaukee. Suite like room, but it's a walk up old apartment property. Higher than second floor, who carries luggage. Rooms have radiator heat, way too dry in the Rooms, and sometimes when you're in shower, another unit can flush and you know what happens to the water. Scortching. Ouch! Old apartments have old sounds, I'm a lite sleeper. Bathroom needs some kind of shelf, nowhere to put toiletries. Parking available, property is very clean. Didn't eat there, but looked like a popular place Saturday morning.

Never stayed in the Hotel, but had breakfast there many times. The menu is manageable and diverse, and the hotel is elegant. An excellent place to bring a lady friend or to sit down for a nice meal with family on your way out of town, as I do when leaving school.

Came to Milwaukee with my wife for a concert, and this was our first trip to the city. We have been extremely happy overall with the plaza! The room is very spacious and welcoming, and having a full kitchen was great so we can cook our own small meals for breakfast etc. The amenities overall are great however there are a few minor complaints to mention. The shower water pressure was great however the temperature control in our room was rather finicky. Also being an older building the heating system is rather loud and woke my wife and myself up multiple times a night. We are somewhat light sleepers so this might not be a big deal for all but it is a consideration. Overall a very nice stay with helpful staff and wonderful charm however a few of the small downsides to the room do play a factor.

Very nice hotel. Affordable. Old style, has all amenities; refrigerator, microwave, toaster etc. Only negative is the noise. Nighttime is difficult to sleep due to street noise and window rattling (we had a loose window, stayed in Room 212). Would stay again but would request different room. Good for price.

I stayed at the Plaza Hotel Milwaukee overnight for a concert nearby. The hotel was very clean. The staff were extremely nice. The hotel is pretty old school. They have literal keys for the room and each room has a radiator for heat. Each room also has a kitchenette with complimentary k cup coffee! The room was very clean. Only negative is how noisy the radiators are. At first I think people might be exaggerating describing how noisy they are, but they're pretty loud. And once the restaurant starts to fill up, you hear the hustle and bustle of your room is on the first floor. But by that time we were awake so it wasn't bad. Other than that, I really did enjoy my stay.

The steam radiator kept clanging/banging/popping every hour and a half throughout night, even after I used all the strength I had to try any shut it. Due to this, my girlfriend and I had an awful night's sleep. I'm giving the hotel 2 stars because the service was good. The cafe there was good. The beds were comfortable and the bathroom amenities were fine.

Great price for a great location. I love the old charm of the building. It's close to the lakefront and easy to Uber to spots all over Milwaukee from here. The beds were very comfortable and I loved the private kitchenette even in a basic room! The only downside is the thin walls. We heard a couple yelling and fighting for about 2 hours — slamming doors around 2am. When I finally called the front desk they did go to their room and the noise stopped, luckily!

Fabulous old world charm. Service in cafe area is slow but very friendly. Breakfast food was wonderful except the plaza potatoes are gone.

The cafe is delightful. The staff are very friendly and upbeat, the food is excellent, and the atmosphere warm. Brunch on the weekends is a particular delight.

Expect something clean but quaint. The rooms have kitchenettes, which is very convenient, but the place is showing signs of age. Staff are very friendly and accommodating. Do make sure to have breakfast downstairs at the restaurant. That is 100% recommended, and the greatest aspect of the stay there.

Awesome hotel and restaurant! The hotel was built in 1925 and it has been maintained to look as if it were brand new. The attention to restoration detail, and the convenience to the River Walk and downtown makes this an ideal place for out-of-towners and weekenders. My wife loved it so much, that when we found out that they also have apartments on the top floors she felt like moving to Milwaukee just to live there. We checked in late one night and the front desk lady (Marlene) actually left the desk to help us carry our things to the room. The staff in the restaurant were super friendly and professional, and the food was amazing — highly recommend their brunch breakfast! This is what it feels like when folks take pride in what they do!

Quaint, nice place to spend time with your love ones. Price, comparable to other places not as nice. Very relaxing atmosphere and good service.

Great beautiful hotel minutes from art museum and lake. Friendly hotel staff. Reasonable rates for area. A short walk to grocery store. No complaints here.

Stayed here for a weekend during a wedding. The staff wasn't very knowledgeable on local dining options, but that's why there's trip advisor. We stayed in the two room suite. It was maintained very well and was very clean. They had a small kitchen to cook in and provided dishes and cleaning products. The cafe was very nice as well had a very vintage feel to it. Highly recommend as it is only about a mile from both the lake and big bar areas.

Very friendly staff. Though I did request a special room as we were celebrating our wedding anniversary. When we checked in no one even mentioned or wished us a happy anniversary and our room was nothing special. It was clean and the kitchen was a nice surprise, but, so old! I get keeping the vintage charm but you can do that while still upgrading the toliet and shower and medicine cabinet which was falling apart. Great great location though and free parking lot for guests were positives.

The hotel is nice and quaint — very much a boutique hotel. The restaurant on the main floor is quite nice and the rooms are comfy, each with their own full kitchen. The entire hotel is obviously an older building so there are creaks in the floor, tight staircases, and actual keys to each door, but this all adds to the charm. Oddly enough, there is even a door stamped "incinerator. " The location is very close to the river walk (10 minutes) and East Town (5-10 minutes). Though things could have been a bit more modernized for my taste (the kitchen seemed like a tasteful 90s throwback, but I understand budget constraints and the like). Very nice, but the price was high. It was, however, lowest in the area and parking was only $15 in their lot (others charged $20-$50).

Things are done old school. Physical keys. No elevators. It has charm. Rooms are clean. Full kitchen. Plenty of storage. No full length mirror, which didn't please the wife. Reasonably priced in a great area. Would return.

Visit this hotel last weekend for brunch. Excellent food and affordable price. I tried the Plaza egg Benedict, fantastic choice… the homemade sausage were spectacular. My friends also tried the banana chovolate bread and my Lord you enjoy every single bite. Great place and nice staff.

Awesome place! the place is perfectly preserved from the 1920 era and it definitely makes you feel like you went back in time! and even though its decor is old school it has awesome modernization that competes with any of the "newer" hotels. And to top it off, the café is amazing with great food. Service in the hotel and café are top notch. And anytime we go back to Milwaukee we will be staying here.

Stay is great. Needless are excellent. Small kitchen so orders can take a little longer but well worth it.

The Plaza is a wonderful hotel and a great alternative to the mega chains in Milwaukee. Large, modern rooms, a terrific location and am amazing restaurant for brunch.

Excellent food. Incredible potatos. The outdoor courtyard seating is absolutely gorgeous. Gluten free options.

Cute Art Deco hotel. Spacious, clean rooms though they are in need of updating. Great location. Easy walk to the art museum, lake, other downtown locations. Overnight parking is available for 10$. Brunch at the Plaza ' s restaurant was excellent.

From the first phone call into reservations to the moment of check out the customer service was the best I have ever experienced! The rooms are spotless, the prices are more then fair, the location couldn't be better, and the food was delicious! The hotel it's self is old and beautiful. The rooms are like stepping back in time and fantastic! Very well maintained and the only place we will stay in Milwaukee in the future.

Great place to stay. I really enjoyed the live music in the evenings. Rooms are comfortable and staff is supremely friendly and focused on customer satisfaction. I can't say enough good things about The Plaza.

Food at restaurant was great and service was eventually good. Had to ask for a waitress to come over and they didn't pay attention for ten minutes of sitting. Once they did it was great. Environment was also wonderful.

The building is charming and the service/cleanliness/hospitality is wonderful. We also ate at the restaurant for breakfast, which was delicious. However, our room was way too hot (even after turning off the ancient radiator — staff said this was out of their control) and its location near the lobby made sleeping through the night tough, as we could hear every person who came through in the wee hours of the morning.

Went for brunch this passed Saturday. Got a bloody Mary and the Biscuits and Gravy. I get the b&g everywhere we go and can usually judge an entire menu based on the gravy. This was some of the worst I've had. The biscuits were great. The gravy was horrible. Do not get it unless you love black licorice. They used way too much anise, it was totally overwhelming. You couldn't even taste the sausage. The bloody Mary's weren't great. Very high citrus, not a lot of other flavors. I'm more into a savory/pepper style bloody, so if you like citrus this is the place for you. In all I didn't think it was that great. Better brunch can be found elsewhere. I won't be back.

The rooms were nice, it made me feel like I was home. Great amenities, being able to cook while on the road was nice.

Visited on a Living Social voucher. Your stay includes two $10 breakfast vouchers in the lobby cafe each night. Full kitchen in room stocked with pots and pans, gas range, toaster, microwave, and dishwasher. Really feels like you're renting a studio apartment rather than staying in a hotel. Complimentary on-site parking, and a full service grocer across the street. Right in the heart of downtown Milwaukee. Highly recommend. The only con I can think of is the lack of elevators.

Service is fantastic — friendly, responsive, helpful. The Plaza Cafe also has a great breakfast at reasonable prices. Room was clean, with a comfortable bed. The kitchenette is a nice feature and there is a grocery store right across the street. Within walking distance of almost everything if you are up for a walking within a one mile radius.

Just what we wanted. Small clean classy place. We'll be back.

Neat old hotel. Bar seating in the restaurant is straight out of the past. It's awesome and the food was good too.

This was a quaint and charming hotel in a quiet residential area just a few blocks from the River Walk and downtown. Really clean with friendly staff. We would definitely stay again.

One of his affiliate staff members (kitchen) harassed me while I was staying in a nearby building. It was very dreadful and frightful. I asked for his help in the manner and he almost completely ignored me. Completely awful experience. The GM was completely unresponsive to my requests for help. This location is unsophisticated and unsafe. Do not stay here, The general manager Yves cares nothing about his clients safety. He was completely derelict in my attempt to address my safety concerns with his employees. This place is ghetto Milwaukee. Don't stay here. There are better safer more sophisticated places in Milwaukee to visit.

We spent a week in a Deluxe double queen room while my son recovered from knee surgery. The accommodations were beautiful. The kitchen was a blessing for making meals and keeping ice packs frozen. The staff was wonderful. The location is great as well. For a break I walked to the lake and the river. I will definitely be returning. Our favorite hotel in Milwaukee!

Giant malformed pillows, sandpaper-rough sheets, hard as rock bed, and noisy employees in the halls starting at 6am. Discouraging.

We stayed here for a couple days, during our shows in the area (Valentines Tour for The He and She Show) It was a beautiful hotel! It's like taking a step back in time, to the 1920's with impeccable service, romantic surroundings and art deco style. Their cafe continued the journey back in time with a lunch counter and great food. Our room was outfitted with a great (modern of course) flat screen tv, a full kitchen and a keurig that had both tea and coffee. The bed was comfy and it really was like home away from home. We will stay here every time we come to Milwaukee! The staff was so FRIENDLY! Nicest front desk people EVER.

We had a girl's trip and stayed at the Plaza. It was very clean. The staff was exceptional and more than accomodating.

Great hotel, even though the building is older it's very well maintained. The room has many new upgrades. It wasn't walking distance from downtown but the local bus take you right there. There's also a market and several restaurants in walking distance.

If you are a corn beef hash junky you gotta eat here! Food and decor are fantastic. Just a great place go and enjoy.
