The front desk clerks at check in where to busy with stuffing there face to acknowledge any of the guests in the line. Was giving the incorrect room key. Due to the clerks eating and trying to check people in. I had to ask where the carts were to load the luggage was pointed to a hallway. asked where to go for the rooms and was told go look for the elevator around the corner. only one lifeguard working and seemed the pool was at max capacity. Poor girl looked very overwhelmed. only thing good about the stay was the biscuits and gravy. If you are a traveler, don't expect top notch service like you would get at other Holiday Inns. If we would of known how this experience was going to be. We definitely would of not booked for 2 nights.

This was the best hotel stay I’ve ever had! Customer service was excellent, every staff member I came across was friendly and accommodating, and the food at the restaurant was great. We will definitely be going back anytime we’re in the area.

I had no phone in my room working for room service. I let them know and instead of changing me into a new room that had a working phone. I had to take my baby and my 1.5 year old down to the restaurant to order food to be brought to the room. They stay wasn’t pleasant at all. I also felt like there was no Covid restrictions forced or cared upon. I know there is a kiddie pool for kids but who all knows who is vaccinated or not. Was a risk overall that I am repaying since I am sick now. Anyways the food for breakfast buffet didn’t look sanitary since forks were all places in a basket so that means anyone can touch it. No working staff was giving out the food it was help yourself to getting your own eggs and French toast and etc. To me not a good thing to do when there is covid present. Also there was no hand sanitizer. Just be safe going to this place I regret going here and paying for it since I am sick. Good luck. Just bad experience overall. Also they judge upon a single mom with kids.

No complaints on the hotel except the pool was freezing. My kids were both shivering while swimming.

Fire alarms go off, blood on our sheet expired yogurt and a filthy bathroom and lobby. Noisy all night Never again will I use this hotel. Not worth the approx 200 dollars. Hell wouldn’t spend 50 on it.

Very nice and well designed hotel in Madison West, Wisconsin.

Although it was a nice stay considering the low volume of people over the 4th of July and basically having the entire waterpark to ourselves most times we went, the waterpark needs desperate renovations! Peeling paint everywhere. Sharp edges along kid slides. Most water jets were non functional. In the room, no Kleenex of any kind. The small dresser seemed out of place and not tied to the wall for safety. A cup was placed on the windowsill just outside our room by another room's occupant on Friday and on Sunday it was still there when we checked out. front desk staff were kind and delightful when interacted with.
we paid for a "Kids Rule Package" for 2 nights which included a large pizza and 4 drinks for each dinner. They did not have the coupons for that, instead offered us (1) $25 off coupon only usable dining in the restaurant. And was not given one for the 2nd nights dinner. And according to the Holiday Inn website all restaurants attached to the hotels are supposed to have kids eat free all day every day with paid adult meal. We were charged the full meal. For every dining session. not worth the additional $130 for the 2 nights for the run down water park when we should have kept our original reservations with another hotel and could have been in a nice 2 room suite in a newer hotel with a decent pool.

Fabulous service at the check in desk. Great food & service. The bar was fantastic. I enjoyed a mango tango cocktail.

I like this hotel. I’m a big fan of the water park inside. I actually have nothing bad to say about the place. This being said, the people in the room next to me made my first night here horrible this trip. They were loud and going on at 1:30 am. Not even the A/C drowned out the noise.

We only got to use the pool for an hour, then somebody pooped in it. It was closed for the rest of the night. We could hear voices coming through the air conditioning vent. Also, the temperature control in the room was terrible. It would get super hot, the air would kick on, it would become freezing, and then shut off again. And everything was loud — the air blowing, the toilet flushing, a weird squeaking sound in the shower.

They were very accommodating and even opened the waterpark before hours for us!

Excellent hotel with great amenities. The water park is amazing! Nice bar in the great room, with lots of outdoor seating. Attached restaurant with another small bar.

Pool side does not equal Pool side. I paid for a Pool Side Room and was on the 3rd floor. Don't waste your money.

I've stayed here several times and it's been pleasant each time. It's easy to find, easy to access restaurants and other entertainment; parking is difficult if they hotel is busy but other free and easy. The rooms are nice and value seems good (note: I did not pay for the room I stayed i, that may have changed my opinion). Hotel staff is always kind and prompt. On site restaurant leaves something to be desired, but no fault of the hotel.

It was a nice facility. Our family had a great time in the awesome pool area that has a water slide, child area and hot tub. We were given coupons for breakfast and were told that breakfast started at 7a and lunch started at 11a. Since we had come for the holiday we had called ahead to make sure the restaurant or room service would be available. We were told the restaurant was closed when we came and the next morning when we came down for breakfast at 9:40a we were rudely told by the front desk woman that breakfast ended at 9:30a. She did not attempt to assist further. In addition, the room was double charged and the staff was both unpleasant and unhelpful.

Excellent service. Nice, spacious, clean rooms. Affordable rate (the quality definitely exceeds the rate). Amazing food from the on-site restaurant. I would give 2 thumbs up. Highly recommended.

The pool/“water park” is great but the customer service has been terrible. The restaurant waiter acted annoyed by families with small children. The hotel actually tried to charge $60+ more than original reservation and would not put for effort in rectifying the situation. I didn’t have the confirmation number and was told “sorry, there’s nothing I can do” by the employee. Thankfully, the 1-800 number was able to fix the problem within 15 minutes.

Great pool and water park. Kids liked it. Hotel isn't brand new but worth staying at. Rooms could be a little bit Cleaner but I've seen worse. No free breakfast but they had free coffee in the morning. Overall just OK.

Great location and you get 4 wrist bands to enter the water park. Otherwise, this hotel doesn’t have a lot going for it. Truly past it’s prime and they are NOT updating it fast enough. Our luggage cart was from 1800 and could barely roll. The hotel has a musty odor when you enter and cracks in the bathroom shower made it look gross. Their cleaning team did a great job making the room look presentable but it’s old and outdated. The decor and dark interior is out of style. The water park was fun but crowded since they let non-hotel guests get passes also.

The stay was amazing, the food was great and the pool was heavenly. My family enjoyed the fresh towels daily, friendly service and attention to detail. Kudos to Doug and his team for making oyr stay 1 to remember.

The service was great at the bar and front desk. Was very accommodating when I asked for late check out for business when they were almost fully booked. Would definitely recommend going there.

We stayed in room 3026. The kids had a great time in the pool. Highly recommend a weekday stay if possible. The weekend pool hours where hectic with kids and parties. The weekday hours were much more relaxed. The room over looked the pool and had direct access to stairs that led to the pool. Which was a plus. The pool was clean and the life guards were great. Though they were crazy busy on Saturday and Sunday. Don't expect any quiet until after 10:00 pm. More like 10:30 pm. The kids love the pool but they are loud. The room needed some minor maintenance but nothing severe. Great service, good food, awesome indoor pool and slides. Pool is good for ages 2 and up. Plenty of chairs to watch your kids. The big slide is fun for adults too. All said, we'll be back, but on a weekday.

I booked this as a surprise for my boyfriend based on the fact that they had a swim up bar. I normally would have gone with a hotel with continental breakfast instead but figured the swim up bar would be a nice change. Well it would have been, if the pool would have been open at all during our stay! I arrived to check in and asked the front desk when does the pool close she said oh well I think the pool is closed for the day. I was like well it says that no where and that was the purpose of staying here was because of the swim up bar! She assured me that the pool would be open the next morning and said she could arrange for us to have a late check out! I said ok fine! So then we sat around trying to figure out things to do since the whole reason we came here we couldnt do. Later that night I went to ask the front desk which was a diffrent employee what time late check out was because the girl prior said we could because of the pool. He said well actually it won't be open tommorow until 5 o'clock, the pool is only open Friday Saturday Sunday! I said the girl earlier said it would be open in the morning, that is why we are getting late check out! he said I can arrange late check out and then I give him my information. He says yea you booked third party so the pool is not our issue it is the company you booked through! Mind you there is not one thing that says anywhere the pool is closed!

I stayed here when in in town for a conference. I didn't visit the pool/water park. I feel pretty lucky to have been given a room outside facing rather than pool facing towards the end of the building so it was relatively quiet. My room was comfortable and clean. I liked the separation of the sitting area with a sofa desk and TV from the the bed area (which also had a tv). The kitchenette was a plus too with microwave and refrigerator. The only thing that keeps this from a 5. Is that I had a lot of difficulty with my room keys not working. It took an excessive number of swipes and once had to return to the lobby for new keys entirely. I don't suspect that to be a real common problem though.

Decent for families with small kids. Pros: friendly attentive staff, small water park area for kids. Cons: the place is dark and dated, it really is in need of an update. It still retains the "executive" labeling for it's 4th floor and rooms, however there is nothing "executive" about them.

We stayed there overnight for a little break for the kids. One thing that helped us in picking this hotel is that with Holiday Inn kids eat free with a paying adult. Checking in I only received one coupon for that when I would be eating dinner and breakfast there. When I went back to find out about the breakfast coupon the lady at the desk was surprised that kids are supposed to eat free at holiday inn and repeated to tell me that I got my one coupon. She did give me a second one after I explained that it is on the website that kids eat free for all meals. I am wondering how many other families dont get the correct benefits that they should be getting when they bring their kids to the hotel and only get the one coupon. You should make it easier for families to take part of the offer of kids eating free if that is what you are really going to offer instead of not really offering it unless someone notices they are not getting that benefit and having to fight about it.

Super helpful and knowledgeable staff, excellent shuttle service to and from both the Dane County Airport and the Epic Learning Center. Walking distance to quite a few good restaurants. It was a great stay!

We planned to stay, but we had reserved the wrong dates. Front desk staff was very helpful and called other hotels for us as they were full. Seemed like a nice place. Waterpark is small, so probably best for younger kids.

This place was very nice, the pool area was nice. We were given a room with a Jacuzzi for no additional cost. There was a wedding reception but there were no noise issues at all. I would stay there again and recommend it to others.

Stayed at the hotel and attended a wedding. Used both bars and the staff did a nice job. The check in and check out staff was very helpful and courteous. Nice work! The room was sufficient on the second floor. There was some painting going on so the hallway was a bit messy. The pool really is fantastic and the kids loved it. The facilities and staff for the wedding worked out great. Everyone did a nice job and we enjoyed ourselves.

Loved the service and the staff was very accommodating. Crawdaddy Cove was perfect for our one and three year old boys. Also appreciated having the restaurant right there. The hotel itself is outdated, and would recommend they consider upgrading it soon — little things like waiting for hot water, getting the wrong soda from the pop machine. Overall a great alternative to the Dells if you want to avoid the mega resorts and have younger kids!

Although our experiences with this particular Holiday Inn haven't always been good, they have redeemed themselves today. This Holiday Inn let us reschedule (not cancel, mind you) our stay with them at the last minute with no charge. Our daughter got sick with the flu the day of our trip, so we had no choice but to reschedule the whole thing mere hours before we were set to embark. Thanks to this Holiday Inn's understanding and compassion, we are not out any $$ and can afford to go back when everyone's feeling better and maybe even spend an extra night with them. God bless businesses that help keep this terrible flu season under control by letting sick people keep their germs to themselves and stay home without losing $$ we can't afford to lose. Employers, take note: make it affordable for the average person to stay home when he or she is sick, and together we can save lives. "Keep the pool open for me, okay? Awesome water park for the younger crowd (our kids are 4-8 and it was perfect). Be aware that you can't bring your own food or drinks to the pool area, they let in water bottles but everything else had to come from the restaurant. Room could have used some updating and our jacuzzi tub didn't work, but we received a discount on the room because of it. Breakfast buffet was okay — not worth the $11 unless you're eating with kids (kids eat free if you're staying at the hotel).

It was easy to get to, welcoming and clean. We've been there several times and the rooms are always very nice and clean. The kids always enjoy the water park. However this last time about half way through our time in the water we all started getting very itchy. We had to shower off and immediatly after getting out even if we were going back in. I'm glad it's clean but I question if the chemicals were too much. All of our throats we're burning by the end from breathing it all in and my daughter ended up with a type of rash/burn wherever her swimsuit was. She has never had this reaction from swimming. The air temperature in the pool area was also very cold.

We came here for New Year's Eve and had a great time. They had activities for the kids which they loved. We stayed poolside and had a large balcony area that was great for gathering and hanging out with the other families that came. The downside was that the heat was cranked up and it was so hot. We asked if they could turn it down, which they said they could vent it, and they did but it took about 3 hours and only lasted a little bit. Kids enjoyed the pool but there was so much chlorine in the hot tub that even sitting at a table near it my eyes were burning and throat started to hurt. The young kids that went in it we're coming out coughing and one threw up.

We will be back! Huge clean poolside room with great shower. We were pleasantly surprised with the hotel in general. Fun small water park and the kids ate free in the resturant which had amazing food. Saved us alot of $… We can't say enough about our experience. Thanks Holiday Inn for making our mini family vacation great!

Overall great hotel for the family. Rooms are spacious, with the king suite having bunk beds for the kids and the queen suit having a separate room (if you have a larger family). Of course, the main attraction is the indoor Waterpark, which while small is still a lot of fun for everyone in the family. Toss in the attached restaurant and this place is like an all inclusive resort perfect for a weekend.

The staff was extremely friendly and helpful. Easy access to the playground lot. The rooms were clean and bright. Mostly quiet.

Location convenient to several restaurants within walking distance (1 mile). Rooms of varying quality, sometimes with nice sitting room sometimes with a narrow hallway. Staff is always courteous and friendly.

Just spent the weekend at this hotel celebrating my son's wedding. We had the rehearsal dinner at Benvenuto's and it was on point. The reception was also here and it was fabulous. The staff at this hotel is amazing. They are friendly, efficient and very professional. This was a very busy weekend for them with the wedding and a big football game and they never missed a beat on anything! I would recommend this hotel hands down to anyone. Thank you for all y'all did to make this special weekend come together.

Awesome little indoor water park. If you were thinking of going all the way to Wisconsin dells with a toddler skip the crazy lines and crowded pools and come here instead! My daughter had a wonderful time here!

The room was very clean, incredibly comfortable beds and pillows. Microwave, mini fridge and kuerig in the room. The restaurant downstairs had delicious food, lots of options. I had the Italian nachos and cheese curds. The breakfast was also great. Large variety of fresh food, not just the usual bagels and cereal. Wisconsin cheese samples at the front desk. Friendly staff, very helpful and had suggestions for places to eat and drink in the area. I'd definitely recommend this hotel!

Hotel is beautiful. Room is clean. Had issues with my key card and had to go back a couple times to get reactivated, but minor. Great hotel to stay in!

I was pleasantly surprised to find I had been booked in one of the hot tub suites for a business trip. Of course, I ordered a rib eye to be delivered to my room and I have to say it's harder to eat a steak in a hot tub while watching baseball than I had anticipated. Still, good accommodations, hotel was clean and in good order and the staff was amicable.

Very nice place. Vaulted ceilings, nice Jacuzzi in room, full bar and awesome Italian restaurant, great breakfast, modern clean and quiet, comfortable bed and friendly staff. 5 out of 5 stars.

This is a beautiful place. The layout of where the rooms are for the direct access to the pool upgrade fee is totally worth it. The indoor water park was wonderful for our family. Our daughter loved going on all the slides. The water park is well themed and loved taking pictures there. We especially liked seeing a lifeguard named Tess there watching the kids. She was great! We will definitely go again next time we're in the area.

Room was clean and had an open feeling from the eighteen foot ceilings. Service was good, internet decent, restaurant had good food. Indoor pool had a nice play area for the kids and a larger pool for adults with separate whirlpool spa. All in all a winning package at a good price.

If I could give this hotel — 5 I would. The front desk person at check in was rude. After discovering we were placed in a room different than what we booked online they refused to switch rooms stating the hotel was booked. My husband attempted to reason with a different individual at the front desk who was willing move us to an ADA room to accommodate our family's needs however the other person jumped in said no. We ended up cancelling the reservation and switching to the Marriott down the road who were more than accommodating to our family. I filed a complaint with Holiday Inn and still have yet to hear back from someone.

Our stay really didn't meet our expectations. I was really surprised that they don't offer continental breakfast. Even Holiday Inn Express gives you something. Instead they want you to pay for a buffet in the adjoining restaurant. The rooms are seriously outdated and some of the features are falling apart (like our TV remote). There's a large water park here so it's good for families. However, we heard children running and jumping through the halls and the room above late into the night. If you're looking for peace and quiet go elsewhere. The hospitality wasn't great either, the front desk staff were aloof at best.

Very nice hotel. Was noisy after 10 pm and when I told the front desk as I was checking out the person told me I should have called the front desk. I explained I was trying to sleep. I suggested cameras might be better than having the guest police the place for them. Very nice place but be sure to keep the front desk personnel up on what is happening in their establishment.

Easy access from highway and easy commute to downtown Madison and UW campus. Decor is a little bit outdated, but the rooms are generally spacious and comfortable. Staff are friendly and courteous. Ample parking and handicap accessible. A number of good restaurant choices within a short distance of the hotel. Pool/water park is fun and good for younger families and younger kids.

Friendly staff everywhere. Very accommodating. Received late check-out upon request. Pool was fun. Only disappointed there wasn't an arcade like advertised on their Web page and the children's bunk room didn't have a desk and TV like advertised. Defeats the purpose of upgrading. Would recommend for a little getaway still.

I stayed here for 2 trips in back to back weeks. Both times I experienced great service and comfortable clean rooms. I was a little disappointed the lobby bar wasn't open, but was able to get drinks in the main bar. I also heard from my colleagues that the rooms surrounding and overlooking the pool were less than ideal, but that was not my experience.

What a fantastic hotel! Six of us stayed here Friday night in two rooms. The staff checked us in so fast and explained all services available. The pool/spa area was great, and everything, everywhere was so clean and organized! Great Job!

The room and staff were wonderful. However I chose this hotel because of how the gym appeared on the website, and when I got here I was very disappointed. The elliptical and one of the two treadmills were not working and the wipes provided to clean the machines were old and dried out. It was very disappointing especially since it was too cold during my visit to work out outside.

Had a good experience. Although the pool area was a bit chaotic, the lifeguard supervisor was very overbearing, plus I would have liked to been able to bring beverages into the area. They were very strict and unpleasant about those rules, which didnt make much sense.

Nice hotel, great lobby and restaurant. Had a great breakfast. Only thing was that the phone did not work for wake up call and the shower had little to no water pressure, was disappointed with that aspect. Other than that it was grea.

The service was very nice. The rooms and lobby was clean and very well decorated and put together. I felt happy there. Would definitely recommend, and would definitely stay again.

Nice for an overnight with kids. Half of the rooms open up to the water park with balconies and decks on each level direct to the park. Our room was a king with bunk beds in a separate walled off are that had its own TV. Our kids loved it!

This hotel's room accommodations were dated but very comfortable. I was happy to accept the older carpets and chairs in the room because they were still plush and very cozy. The hotel's restaurant provides slightly above average food at a price that is completely reasonable for the quality and convenience. I mostly stuck to appetizers and burgers, though, and there were higher priced, upscale options that I can't comment on. Shuttle services that were prearranged (for events or training) were solid, but shuttle services in the evening to go into town, to a store for supplies, or to go to a restaurant were sorely lacking. They simply do not have the shuttle service available to deal with the volume of guests, so jumping in a shuttle on the fly and calling for a pick-up later was not an option. Taxi services, rental cars, or private driver services are going to be your best option for going anywhere in the evening. The best part of the hotel is the staff. Every member of the staff was outstanding, friendly, helpful, and fun. In particular, Dani and Curtis were just absolutely great. I would book another business trip with this hotel based on staff and room comfortability alone.

Very disappointed, this was my 2nd time to this hotel this year, first stay was ok-restaurant was horrible but that didn't bother us to much, then we came back due to our daughter having surgery on 10th of august, a family member decided to cover the room for us, a credit card authorization had to be sent over not once, not twice but 3times, and they still ended up charging my personal card and not only did they charge my card but they charged me for 2 nights and I was only there for 1! now this caused my account to be come overdrawn and now I have a lovely overdraft fee as well. They had use prebooked in a totally different room and asked if we would like a pool side room, we thought wow that really awesome as we have a rambunctious 2 year old and we where told we would be able to just walk out of our door and to the pool we are … we had pool side 3 stories up. Ended up walking thru the hotel. Never get a poolside room! noise level was ridiculous. But we heard the life guard yelling at people several time to get out of the pool due to some reason. She sounded extremely rude and would not stop yelling. I don't see us going back there ever again.

Clean rooms. Water park is on the small side but we went on a Sunday so it was not too busy. Staff was friendly and helpful.

Extremely Dissapointed! When we called, they gave me a rate of $130/night. When we arrived they charged us extra for each person in the family, which ended up being $170/night. When I explained that they told me the rate was $130/night, she said the best she could do was $150/night. Which is fine, however when we got the bill they still charged us the full amount. We brought the kids to see friends, and they wouldn't allow us to bring other friends to the pool — which by the way they charge an additional $15/person to use the pool! What hotel charges to use the pool? The "waterpark" by the way is nothing more than a kiddie pool with some decorations! Wasn't even fun for my 7 and 9 yr old. Finally, kids do eat free however adults pay. It's about $10/person for the buffet and it is exactly what most hotels give you for continental. Very Dissapointed. Other than the overcharging and the cost of additional items that most hotels charge with their original fee, the rooms are nice and clean. It's a typical hotel that you have to pay more for. I would recommend the Marriot or Baymont down the road.

We stayed in a room last fall and could not have been happier with the hotel. The service was great and management was some of the best in madison. Clean rooms and good prices as well as great customer service!

Not the best experience, noise-y air conditioning unit, can't work at the desk as the chairs are to low, food is terrible and the are very little other choices within walking distance.

Chose hotel so siblings could enjoy water park while their sister was at children's hospital. They charged my credit card twice and when I asked about the extra charge front desk, Stephanie informed me I would have to talk to my credit card company.

Picked this place because it had a small slide and activities for the kids. It also had a large hot tub which kids love. Big problem go to use hot tub and kids over 14 are only allow. Seriously its a small and I mean small indoor water park with one small pool and slide and kids can't go in hot tub. State Law is no kids under 6, but speaking with the RUDE manager was told they make up there own rules. Not advertised. Overall very poor customer service and lots of unhappy parents. Will not be staying at this dump again.

(Disclaimer: my review was "not approved" by hotel staff to appear on their official page so I have some angst) I called the 608 number to reserve rooms but once I said I wanted to use gift certificates, I was told I couldn't because it was a high volume weekend and they expected to sell out. The ONLY restriction listed on the gift certificate was not during special events. I got them as part of a business exchange with WISCO hotels corporate and still do not understand why they would not honor them except out of pure greed. I was told to leave a message for the manager who was in a meeting but never got a call back. When I called again hours later I was told there was no manager on-site that day and all the rooms were sold out. I called the 800 number and talked to Pierre about using my gift certificates for the following week. He was super nice but said I would have to call local to be guaranteed connecting rooms. The person I spoke with at the 608 number was super sweet and told me I could use the gift certificates no problem and I could definitely have connecting rooms (we spoke at length about the fact that I have four small children and didn't want to end up in two separate rooms. I thought her name was Donna but was later told no one by that name works there? ). I needed two rooms for two nights and had three gift certificates. "Donna" sent me my confirmation numbers.

We chose this hotel because of the water park, and paid extra for what we were assured would be a first floor poolside room. We have 2 older children (12, 8) that need basic water park supervision that I could have done from the patio while my 2 year old slept. Upon arrival, I was told that we were put on the second floor because they filled the first floor, and given a shoulder shrug with a "nothing we can do besides 2nd floor is still poolside because you have access from the second floor balcony" So we went to our rooms which were nice (the only reason I gave 2 stars). When we took our kids swimming I went in the hot tub with my 12 and 8 year old. We were promptly told the kids had to get out it was policy that the hot tub was for 16 and older. The sign next to the hot tub clearly said no one under 12 could be unattended and under 6 not allowed. When I questioned her she lied and said it was a new state law. When I told her that was not true she said well it is the hotels new policy it just wasn't posted anywhere. It is so adults have a place to go. I asked to speak to a manager I was sent to the front desk and told to take his card and email him. The staff was just rude. Hello if you don't like kids maybe you should rethink a water park hotel. Old waterpark. Not worth more than $109 per night. No free breakfast. Old motel.

Our 2 kids had a great time at the water park. Very nice hotel. Would recommend. Only bad thing, the breakfast buffet on Sat and Sun mornings at the Benvenuto's is a total joke. Cold food, warm oj. We'll be back.
