I love the space in the suites specially if you have a large family.

I gotta give Comfort Inn Hotels in Madison Wisconsin a shout out. The employee Vincent, behind the counter went out of his way to care for mom. Their place was full so he made multiple calls finding her a reasonably priced place to stay. Called ahead to the other hotel, gave mom directions, then followed up to make sure she made it safely! Now a shout out to Clarion Suites in Madison Wisconsin. Christina got the call from Vincent, she went out front and found mom sitting on the bench. They gave her a room (a suite from how mom describes it. Full kitchen with dishwasher and stove… what? I want to go there! ) So Christina contacted my police department, the police show up on my doorstep, gave me christina's contact info, so I called christina. They got mom secured in a room, would go and check on her, make sure she was ok because she was shaken up and stayed with her basically until we could get there… In today's society, these people have restored my faith in humanity. It was never about a profit but caring for an elderly human being! ❤❤❤❤❤ thank you from the bottom of my heart!

The stay was pretty okay until I had to go in of the front desk to ask directions area Madison. And front desk employee Joe was being very rude to me and my grandmother. He was being very sarcastic about every question I asked him. Also his tone of voice was a little high. He look very irritated and red in the face. My grandmother was very uncomfortable. So we left and went shopping. I think he needs to be a little nice to the guest.

It's fine for the price, but they should better manage expectations. The "award-winning Clarion hotel" has some years on her and is showing her wear. The most obnoxious example was that the hair dryer will only run for 3 minutes before overheating. When I called for a spare, they said they were aware that this was an issue and said to wait until it cooled down… When I mentioned I was in a time crunch, they had to UNINSTALL one from another room to bring it to me and offer to mount it in my room. @Clarion: Buy a few $10 hairdryers if you already know this is an issue. @Travelers: Bring your own (everything) and you'll be set.

The rooms are clean. The free breakfast is good. And location is decent enough if you're looking to hang out around the capital (cheaper than staying right near the capital and is a cheap cab/Uber/Lyft).

The sofa in my room was gross. Dirty and damp. I had to lay down a blanket just to sit on it. The carpet was dirty. The bed frame was made of wood and was all scuffed up and in bad need of paint. I went to the pool. But when I got in the edge was dirty. It needed to be cleaned. You could scrape off the dirt. And the free breakfast was just about all carbs. Bananas, toast, bread and muffins.

Great location for close by amenities, literally 20 mins from most major locations. Easy to find, light traffic even around rush hour. Rooms were clean and fresh upon arrival, bedding slightly damp after change out though.

I only stayed here once and it was for work at the Alliant Energy Center before the 2018 CrossFit event. The location of this hotel is the best! There's no hotel you're going to find with a better location to go to the Energy Center, it's within walking distance! That being said, if you're looking for luxurious rooms that are spacious and look like a 5 star you're not going to find it here. I think most people come to this hotel because of the location and that's fine. I had a very small room and there was a stain on the comforter. The service is great and there is free breakfast. If I was going to an event at the Alliant Energy Center I would absolutely stay here again, but if not, I would definitely not.

My friend and I had to stay at clarion for about a week for work. May28 until June 3 was one of the best weeks ever. We really had good stay at clarion suites. Room was cleaned. Amber at the front desk was really sweet and kind. The breakfast was really amazing. Dominique and Alicia help us a lot. Bring coffee to our tables. Asking us did we need anything. Very polite, kind, and respectful. We felt like we was at home. Breakfast area was very clean too. I would come back again and again thanks clarion for your hospitality. Amber, Alicia, and Dominique stay sweet.

We only visited for the happy hour… And it was great. Very friendly and courteous staff. Nice drink selection, and munchies.

Hotel is clean and staff is friendly, decor is extremely dated (welcome to the 80's vibe in the rooms) and bed was a bit harder than i'd prefer, pool and hot tub was clean and quiet. Stayed for business so I didn't expect anything lavish. They do have a free beer and wine each evening (during the week) happy/social hour.

The staff is very friendly, the hotel very clean, rooms very comfortable, they have breakfast included, we were very comfortable.

The Clarion was a really nice hotel for working the Midwest Horse Fair. Staff was friendly and helpful, the beds were comfortable, and the room was clean. The only downside was that the water pressure was a little low. Otherwise, wonderful hotel!

Enjoyed staying at the Clarion Suites over a 5 day period, while working at a nearby event. Staff was friendly, rooms were clean and spacious. Wonderful free breakfast and afternoon "happy hour. " My daughter stayed with me and she enjoyed swimming and relaxing in the hot tub! Used the free internet and the connection was very good. Really liked the separate "kitchen area" with nice-sized refrigerator, microwave oven and sink. Had a very nice stay.

Breakfast was good, beds were comfy, and the staff was very helpful. Shower pressure could be improved though.

Usually when I go to a hotel their breakfast is only cereal and bagels. But last week when I stayed at Clarion Suites I have met some great people. Vanessa Dominique and Jim are the most nicest polite people I ever met. Anything I needed they help me with. Their breakfast are delicious and hot ready for you to eat. And that's why I left them a tip. So if anyone goes to Clarion Suites make sure you stop by the breakfast area and enjoy their delicious breakfast. And make sure you leave a tip too. Thanks Clarion Suites.

For price and location can't be beat. Stayed here in conjunction with an event at the AEC. Staff is very friendly and provided great service. Really go above and beyond. Rooms are a but dated but clean.

Nice rooms and had a nice breakfast and sitting area, I attended a convention at the alliant energy center and it was very convenient being connected so we didn't have to leave the heat in the winter. The hotel also opened up a number of their conference rooms for our use while we were there and they were all well kept and maintained. If rooms at this hotel are available next year I will likely stay here again.

Except for the occasional door slam at 1 in the morning it was great. I especially like the staff member who greeted us and then stayed with us on Saturday night to make sure that everything was okay. Every time that we were on that floor we were greeted by her and told what the hotel offered. I would definitely come back here. Even the guests were friendly.

Easy location to find, just off the highway. It's a short drive to other amenities, nothing is terribly close aside from the attached convention center. Breakfast is excellently stocked and fresh. Loved the fresh pineapple and yogurt selection. Workers there are probably amongst the friendliest I've encountered. Our room, a king with a pullout, was spacious and in good repair. The appliances (fridge and microwave) aren't new but they all were very clean and worked well.

Nicely kept hotel with extremely friendly staff. We brought 2 dogs with us and they were welcome without any trouble. The rooms were clean and neat.

Apparently we were charged twice for our stay (it shows up twice on our bank account) without being told by the staff. I called back to ask about the mistake and the staff who answered said "Oh yeah, you were charged twice accidentally but you were also refunded immediately. It might take several days for the refund to show up though. " I still have not seen a refund in my bank account and I'm appalled that when I was "accidentally charged twice" the staff person didn't even tell me! I had to call and find out that my money will be unavailable for several days because of a mistake by the staff. It wouldn't be such a big deal to me if the staff person had been honest with me when the mistake took place, but I feel deceived and disrespected by the lack of honesty or communication about the issue when it happened.

I work for one of the branches of a nearby business to the Clarion and has to come to Madison for some training. I LOVE staying at the Clarion for my time in Madison! The staff is always friendly, the social hour is fabulous and the breakfast is phenomenal! Thank you for the great stay and I'll see you next time!

Our family of five (plus grandparents) enjoyed a three-night stay here in connecting rooms: a one-bedroom suite and regular room. The room configuration was great for visiting and sleeping (everyone slept until 8am the first morning, which is great when traveling with young kids). The pool and spa were a big hit, as was the tasty breakfast buffet. My parents enjoyed the free happy hour, and other than a somewhat weak Wi-Fi signal the whole stay was great. The staff were friendly and professional. We'll definitely return if in the area again!

To the owners, do everything you can to keep your manager Kathy! From the first phone call, she was friendly and helpful. Our room was clean and comfortable. The free breakfast and evening wine and beer add to the value. Highly recommend!

Room was great, more than we expected since it came with a microwave, ele range, dishwasher & fridge/freezer. Nice pool and hot tub area. Great managers happy hour too. Easy access to downtown Madison and highways and pet friendly, would totally stay here again!

We booked a room at the Clarion for a wedding. We were driving in from Milwaukee for a 3:00 wedding. I noticed that check — in time was also listed at 3:00. When I booked the room, I called the hotel to specifically ask if we could check-in early so that we could get ready for the wedding in the room rather than wearing our formal clothes for the longer car ride. I was assured that would be no problem. The night before our arrival, I called the hotel to request the early check-in. The desk attendant told me they could not guarantee that and to try again in the morning. As requested, I called in the morning, on our way to the hotel. Again, I was rudely told they could not guarantee anything. Upon our arrival at the hotel about 2:00 pm, the desk attendant flatly told me there were no rooms available. I asked if there was anywhere we could change for the wedding and the attendant guestuted that we could use the hall public restroom. My husband and I were shocked that the hotel could not accommodate this simple request or perhaps put a room aside for us when one came available after being cleaned, after the first two times I had called. The condition of the room was clean, but dated and plain. However, based on the lack of service, I would actually recommend friends avoid this hotel in the future.

Very nice hotel. We had a 2 Queen suite, it was very nice & clean. The hotel was easy to get to, and downtown Madison is easy to get to from there. I would absolutely stay there again. I thought the price was very reasonable as well. Also seemed very kid friendly.

Lots of great parking. At least during off season for whatever takes place at the dome place. The manager happy hour was okay. I got there about 6pm. There were baby carrots, and pasta left. Plus wine, beer and pop, I guess. The pasta was pretty good. There had been quite a spread, but not after 6. I did see someone walking off with a spectacular fruit plate … I guess she felt free to finish it off and those who showed up for the last half hour were not important enough to consider. I didn't try the booze or the pop. The water was excellent. The freezer was cold — evidenced by the excessive ice — no room for much of anything. I defrosted it. Sigh. In room coffee was good. Otherwise, the staff was friendly and helpful. Exercise room was pretty basic but fine. Swimming pool was good. Oh, and the vending machines ate a quarter and then surcharged me 10% because I used a credit card. Sigh. And women deserve a surcharge on their dry-cleaning. Really? Sigh.

We had such a wonderful experience at Clarion! The whole staff is absolutely amazing and friendly. From the security to the front desk staff, everyone was so accommodating. A special thank you to Cathy for being such an amazing host. We will definitely be back on our next trip to Madison!

Nice place to stay. Clean spacious rooms. Accommodating staff. A group of us were attending UW morning graduation. They let us put our luggage in 1 room with late check-out. The only negative was we had the shuttle scheduled to take us to campus at 8:30. They didn't tell us until after 8:00 the shuttle wasn't running.

Seemed both busy and not at times. Both dull and uplifting. I guess it depends on your mood. I was recovering from a head injury and needed a quieter environment. It suited my needs.

Room well maintained. Breakfast was great. Service impeccable, staff seemed to enjoy their jobs and enjoy people.

Very disappointed with the room and management. We stayed here to see WWE Live on Sunday May 29th (our Anniversary). We left for the event and well gone between 6pm-1030pm someone came in the room and turned the air off we came back to the room being super hot and our bags being messed with. We called front desk and they apologized and said they will look into it. During the night the air did not cool off the room at all and it was miserable to sleep. The next morning someone started knocking on our door at 8am even though we had the do not distribute on the door they did this multiple times (check out is noon). The fridge had ice in it before we got and it melted over night we had ordered pizza the night before for dinner and had to throw away leftovers because it got soaked due to the melted ice which also caused the fridge to flood and get water all over the floor. Well checking out I informed the front desk of all of this of course it was memorial day so no manager on duty so she told me she would let her manager know. I heard nothing from management and still had to pay full price for such an awful experience. Needless to say if I go back to Madison I will choose another place to stay. Thanks for ruining my one year anniversary Clarion.

From the outside I didnt think this would be a great hotel. The exterior doesnt represent the interior thats for sure. The hotel is modern, nicely arranged lobby and exceptionally clean. The room is spacious and included a kitchenette with a microwave, sink, fridge, coffee maker and cupboards. No plates or utensils besides coffee and drinking glasses. Plenty of room in this room. Seperate area for grooming from the bath and toilet. Full size couch with end and coffee tables. Very large desk. Nice flat screen with cable. Worth mentioning again that it is very clean! Breakfast was included and had everything from wggs, bacon, sausage, waffles, french toast, hot and cold cereal, yogurt, fruit and much more! Great stay at a great rate!

The staff and services such as evening drinks and complimentary breakfast are great. The rooms are large, and it is very nice they have kitchenettes. The rooms and public places could be cleaner, and I wish there were a full bar.

My event had some of the conference rooms checked out. The staff at the conference rooms did a great job making sure we had what we need. For example in between meeting they came and checked we had water in the room.

Hotel seems older but we'll kept up. My room is generously sized, with a kitchenette, two queen beds, and a sofa bed as well as a desk and several small tables. The bed was fairly comfortable. The provided toiletries are just ok, the water pressure is a little lower than I'd like, and there aren't as many outlets near the bed as those of us who sleep with our phones in reach are used to. The temperature control for the room is also not great as its a 1-10 knob with selections for fan, high or low heat, and high or low cooling rather than a thermostat. However, the complimentary breakfast has an excellent selection and the evening social hour is a very nice touch.

I paid twice the average rate because I was attending a conference and there were no other rooms open. The hotel is old, the shuttles are filthy, and the driver was blasting heavy metal music. The "breakfast" was boil in bag ore-scrambled eggs. The evening snack was nacho cheese sauce in a crock pot with tortilla chips, and the beer choices were Miller Light and Miller High Life. There are no places to eat within walking distance. How this place is award winning is beyond my understanding. I will never book here again.

Beds were comfortably soft and the water was hot. The room could use some updating-the valence over the curtains didn't match much in the room, the carpet is a bit old, and the lampshades were beat up. Would be nice to have a supply of plates and cutlery in the cabinets of the suite. Complimentary social hour and breakfast are a nice touch.

Perfect location to stay for an event at the Alliant Center. Rooms are nice, breakfast good and it was quiet. Usually the customer service is amazing. One rude desk clerk was the only downside to the stay.

It was a clean room and a decent place to stay. The staff was extremely friendly. The location is attached to the convention center but is otherwise not within walking distance of restaurants or many other amenities. The breakfast was edible but left a lot to be desired. The rooms were comfortable and a place to rest the noggin.

I have stayed at the Clarion Hotel in Madison each time I have come for epic training. The staff is very professional, the shuttle is always on time, the happy hour and hot tub are also a nice bonus. Oh, did I mention the chocolate chip cookies at the front desk?! There is a fridge, couch, and nice view in every room. The housekeeping staff are amazing! The showers are nice and bed is always cozy and inviting! Make sure to bring your own toiletries, the hotel freebies are terrible. Don't forget your bathing suit, & I always wish I would remember a travel coffee mug … The coffee cups at breakfast are small. The complimentary breakfast in the morning is pretty amazing. I feel very well taken care of every time I am a guest here, and look forward to my visits in the future.

I based my decisions on these reviews. I felt I should give some feedback. This place was great. Staff was super friendly and helpful in where to eat and giving directions. The room was super clean and spacious. Checkout was later than most places, we didn't get to utilize that but loved that it was available.

Wonderful gentlemen running the front desk, clean & beautiful room w/ separated sleeping quarters (great bonus for a family of 5) & the best part was I was allowed to bring my large breed dog here!

I spent one night at the Clarion in mid-August, which I booked through Priceline. I had attempted to book a hotel downtown, but clearly the Clarion is not downtown. The room was spacious and clean, but certainly dated. Fine for the price. We had a mini-fridge and microwave in our micro-kitchenette in the suite, which was sufficient. The bathroom was not in good condition, with rust all along the inside of the door frame and along the floor. Clearly moisture ventilation issues. The pool is a good size, but air was very stale and overall the facility needs some updating. Middle-of-the-road hotel pool. The hot breakfast was a nice perk for the price we paid. Hot eggs, sausages and potatoes; cereal; waffles; donuts; oatmeal. Not gourmet, but fine, and easily saved my family $30. The sleep quality was okay, better than bargain-basement hotels but not what I would expect for a "three star" rating. Service was okay. Before we arrived I called to make sure we had the room size I needed (two Queens with a pull-out couch), and that service was good. The counter service was so-so. The staff serving breakfast seemed out of it — did not really look at or respond to people, and when refilling the hot breakfast items they poured a great deal of it on the counter and floor, not once but twice. This did not seem to bother them. For the rate I paid — $80 — it was a good value. Not going to get a near-downtown location with a hot breakfast, free parking, and pool for less.

This hotel will try to rip you off and the staff is the most inhospitable staff I have ever encountered. only stay here if you enjoy horrible customer service and literally being robbed.

This was my first stay at a Clarion Suites Hotel, and I found the Madison Clarion to exceed my expectations. With convenient access from the Interstate, this location is ideal for the conference I attended, which I accessed via the hotel’s covered-walkway. The Madison Clarion is all I could ask for: free parking, free Internet, free breakfast, with hot waffles, scrambled eggs, sausage links, and more along with free coffee and free refills all day and night, two free bottles of water, fresh-baked cookies, free workout room and equipment, free pool, hot tub, and free morning paper. My room was a spacious suite with a 25-inch color TV, queen-size bed, extra pillows and blankets, sofa-sleeper, coffee table, and workstation, which doubles as a table with two chairs. If you are staying a few days, you’ll appreciate the kitchen, which is equipped at no extra charge, with a microwave, bar sink, refrigerator, cupboards, tiled floor and coffee maker with free coffee. Moms will be pleased to have the refrigerator for keeping drinks or leftovers cold, and the microwave is great for warming up simple meals or snacks for hungry kids. Ladies will like the bath and toilet, which are separate from the dressing room, which has a vanity and wall-to-wall closet with full-length mirror. If you like self-serve, you’ll be fine with handling your bags and parking your car to expedite check in and check out.
