We visited 30 years ago for our 10th anniversary and loved it, so decided to return prior to our 40th during the summer. Friendly staff granted my request for a specific room… nice surprise! The room was beautiful, clean, good breakfast, close to attractions. We loved it so much that I wrote a similar Google review. Thanks for a fantastic stay!

Came here 20 years ago when I was a little girl and very much enjoyed our stay last weekend. Clean, fun, great breakfast and friendly staff. Thanks we will be back very soon!

Funky, funky! Variety of themed rooms and also non themed. Many neat things to do in the area. Friendly and very helpful staff! Nice pool and hot tub rooms, just wish the hot tub/ pool had quiet times for adults, an hour or two would be nice for those us of that made the decision to travel and spend some money with relaxation in mind. Nice breakfast from 6 — 10 am. Quirky and unexpected artistic touches make for a memorable experience.

Stayed in the ceasers palace 2 and was amazing! Great hotel friendly staff and was only 2 1/2 hours away.

The fantasy suites are the perfectly over the top to fulfill all our desires! Staff is amazing and the lobby decor is so unique and retro! Will be back!

Beautiful location and majestic suites. Love the place. Definitely visit this place if you are nearby. Best theme suites for vacation or anniversary celebration.

We had a very clean room the bed was comfortable and the breakfast had a lot to pick from.

The suites are fun, clean, and comfortable. The staff is welcoming, helpful, and polite. The waffle machine makes the free breakfast a FAR better deal than I've come to expect from hotels.

Interesting place and hospitable.

They have some of the best service. The staff is nice. The breakfast in the morning is really good and they are always on top of rotating food. The pool is really nice because it is a inside and outside plus hot tub. The rooms can be normal or themed. The rooms are really nice. One problem is there is some dead spots for Wi-Fi in some rooms and places. Overall loved it.

Just stopped to check out the plane. Didn't expect to be able to go in. Awesome as you can still sit in the pilots seat and work the switches. We thought it was definitely worth the stop. You can sense all the history just by sitting inside. Did not go in the establishment so my review is not reflective of that.

It's not really fair to pass judgment on the Don Q Inn. My family and I noticed the plane out front and decided to stop in and investigate. Honestly, we didn't notice the place was a hotel until we pulled in after being fixated on the plane from the road. We did go into the plane, read the literature and thought it neat. I would like to address that the plane isn't kept up and maintained well at all. The floor is falling through in places and patches with additional metal over the top of the holes. The kids thought it was neat, my wife thought it was smelly and hot. Me on the other hand, what can I say? Not the first plane I'd been in.

Have stayed there before (like as far back as 27 years) and decided to stay a couple nights in the fantasy suites. Once we got there ended up staying 5 nights. There are so many attractions to go to that are not far drives and Sash was so accommodating in helping us make it easy to switch rooms every night to make it more fun enjoying different suites. He really is a great host. Jeanette and Tony who work there were so helpful and made us feel like family. Will make this our home base hotel again the next time we visit Wisconsin.

We recently went for 2 nights and enjoyed it so much we stayed for 3. The staff was great. We had the casino suite and it was huge. The rooms and inn were clean and beds were comfy. Pool was warm. Breakfast was good. We were on a motorcycle and had some bad weather while there staff went out of their way two of the nights and gave us rides down town for supper and fun. We will for sure be visiting again.

This place is an off the beaten track gem. While other reviewers are correct that this place can be a little rough around the edges, you simply cannot replicate the unique experience of staying in one of their fantasuites, the ultimate in kitschy indulgence. The staff is super nice and very helpful. They obviously have pride in this piece of genuine Americana. Do yourself a favor next time you want to check out APT or Governor Dodge State Park and enjoy this throwback classic!

This is a fun, unique hotel to visit when in the Dodgeville area. My kids loved the plane out front and you can't miss the place. The motif is dark and sort of dated, but the location is clean for the most part. We did have a hard time finding clean towels in the pool area but it was nice to be able to swim until 11pm which is later than most pools are typically open. If you're looking for a non-traditional place to stay this is the place! Great value for the room we stayed in too. Continental breakfast was well stocked. We went to the house on the rock the next morning and it was a lot of fun! Our kids loved it!

This place is a good time for a small family trip. It's not a contemporary wonder of new style, but it's got a fun rustic laid back vibe. There's a ping pong table, pool table, and foosball table for after swimming. Some other games too. Food and gas stations are close. In the morning, there are waffles, bagels, muffins, and hot coffee and juice to start the day. There is a retired plane in front to go inside and check out, but it could use a good scrubbing. The beds should probably be replaced, but maybe we got an older room… thwy weren't terrible, but not great… its with in 20/30 minutes to dodge state park, cave of the mound, and house on the rock. Go! Rent directly from their website for the best deal.

My boyfriend and I decided to go on a romantic weekend for our christmas gifts to one another. We stayed this past friday and saturday night. The "Mid-Evil" room was awesome. The staff was great. We enjoyed the pool and continental breakfast. Everything seemed nice and very clean. We loved it so much. We will be back and we will be regulars. *Suggestion* It's such an unusual property with such a history, but it's hard to find out much about it. I'd love to know more about it. A pamplet in the room? More info to add on facebook or your website maybe? The Don Q is gem, and we are now fans :)

Stayed in cupids corner, so beautiful. So many cool little details. And the pool on the ground floor is the perfect temp and really nice. Met some very nice people here too. 10/10 am going back.

The Sherwood forest room was really cute and comfortable. The hotel employees were so nice! The gigantic fire pit in the lobby with all the barber chairs around it was awesome! We will go back!

Stayed here while on a motorcycling trip through SW Wisconsin. We stayed in one of the original "themed suites", "Maggie's Place — A King Sized bed, pink and white decor with contrasting red heart shaped hydrotherapy tub. " Room had a heart shaped tub. Kitschy romantic I guess. This hotel is definitely a grand old throwback and it somewhat shows. It is a unique one-off and definitely worth the stop if you're already coming through the area.

This place was totally amazing! We stayed in the jungle room and were impressed from the minute we pulled into the parking lot! Not too many places have jets parked on their front lawns or tiny little wedding chapels out front! The lobby is jaw dropping with the huge fireplace surrounded by old dental chairs! The jungle room felt like we were in the jungle! We could have swam laps in the hot tub, and the water flowing in from the wall was a perfect touch! Definitely a 70's flair to the place, but well worth a visit!
