We picked this location because it is close to Mount Rushmore but let me WARN YOU, stay in Rapid City. This place lacks cleanliness, room lighting, automatic room thermostat to keep the temperature balanced, staff friendliness and COVID safety. As a complete kick to the face, the breakfast prep person RICHARD (per booking breakfast included) was biligerent and degrading because he REFUSED to give out the ONE (1) Allotted biscuit and sausage sandwich. Richard two days in the row RANTED how the hotel guest thought it is an all you can eat and it is not, and they pigged out, but his management allows him to give only one per person… when I asked for my one he RUDELY told me to eat something else… CRAZY, RICHARD on a full on rant over a breakfast biscuit. I relayed Richard's behaviors to the front desk two days in a row with little results. During vacation the last thing you want is a Richard type guy, with absurd and erratic behavior when the nearest McDonald's is 33 miles away. We will never stay at this hotel again.

Room and hotel was beautiful and extremely clean. My only issue was there "the front porch" attached restraunt where they send you for breakfast was terrible. 2.50$ for Orange juice that tasted like sunny D. My husband got a chocolate milk for another 2.50$ and it was white milk with a splash of chocolate powder. Then his biscuits and gravy were horrid. Burnt biscuits an the gravy tasted like flour. And on top of it all the wait staff was extremely slow and looked almost lost as to what they were doing. I'm big on a decent breakfast option provided by the hotels I stay at.

Great location in Keystone, walking distance to several shops, restaurants, and bars. The parking situation isn’t great but that’s mostly due to the location. What really irritated me was the roughly $30 up charge for not booking online. I found the room I wanted listed on their website for $134, when I spoke to the person at the desk he told me the price was $160 something. He acted confused when I asked for an explanation as to why their advertised price is different from their actual price. After checking their website he agreed to give me the room for the price posted online. I guess the lesson is check the online price before paying for your room.

Parking hell. The Hotel interior was good, it was clean and the staff as helpful as they could be. But unless you are on a motorcycle or a mini car forget parking. The spaces are not wide enough for a mid size car to park and open the doors. No way my truck fits in one. And a tour bus was parked across the wider parking spots. So you are forced to park on the street with 3 hour parking. All the staff can suggest for you to do is move your car every 3 hours or get a parking ticket. The desk employees are very sympathetic as they have to do the same thing. But the ownership and management have dropped the ball on that one. So if you drive a larger vehicle better stay somewhere else. I will post pictures later.

The hotel and room itself was nice, however the parking lot left a lot to be desired. They have a very small lot and it's hard to get in and out of. The shower in our room didnt work quite right, when you pulled the lever up more water was coming out of the spout than the shower head and you end up standing in ankle deep water. The last night we were there they cleaned up the room and didn't leave any coffee or cups or give us a new bath mat. The beds were comfy and the boardwalk is great!

Difficult to determine. Initially booked on line, then changed reservation by one day. Motel didn't receive the change and were insisting the entire amount be paid. Front desk people very pleasant but not helpful. Finally spoke with manager, who was very helpful. Situation resolved to our satisfaction. Room clean. Quiet.

Great restaurant. Hotel was very clean and beds comfy. Recent remodel. Restaurant and lounge had only been open a couple of weeks and were unable to source a few common ingredients. All personnel were very helpful and nice. The hot tub was out of order but not marked as so. We had turned it on before getting in and were extremely disappointed. It was barely warm at all and the skimmer was not working. We got out quickly, went to our room to shower and informed hotel personnel who said there was a sign stating it was out of order… We checked there was no sign and there had been young teens in there for many hours.

The hotel was easy to find and located very close to restaurants and gift shops. The rooms were small but very nice as was the pool and hot tub area. The downside is that there was no continental breakfast which was disappointing considering the cost of the room.

My wife and I enjoyed our stay. The room was clean and comfortable and staff was friendly and helpful. We would stay here again.

Hotel is in a good location in touristy Keystone. It's right on the strip and you can get on the Keystone boardwalk which leads down the main strip. Our main complaint was the restaurant. The food was not worth the price and the hotel is so set on making guests have breakfast there that we were at a loss for what to have for breakfast. Other than this the hotel was nice. Newly remodeled and nice looking.

Gorgeous hotel, excellent service, our room had a double jetted Jacuzzi. It was within walking distance of all the Keystone shops. We really enjoyed our stay.

Stopped here for 1 night on the last night of our Wild West trip from Vantage had a nice dinner but breakfast was not so good. You should offer buffet breakfast for the amount of money we pay to go on these trips. Rooms are way to small to move around for 2 people and beds were to close together. Curtains hung low and blocked the flow of air conditioner air. Was on 1st floor and widows should be tented so people don't see in from the outside. Water is bad (yellow brownish) never drink the water in Keystone always use bottle water. However staff were friendly.

This was one of the worst experiences I have had at a hotel. To start out they didn’t have our reservation. Upon entering the room, there was no latch for the security lock and no shower curtain. When running a bath (because there was no shower curtain) the water was yellowish brown and smelled of urine. Otherwise the room was clean and the pillows were nice (thats the only positive feedback). Upon bringing up the issues the dimwitted staff did nothing and said it was a mistake to not have a shower curtain. That is all! When demanded to know what remodelling occured she said they got new furnishings… that bed was not new! Don’t wast your money here.

Newly remodeled rooms make this an excellent place to stay. The staff couldn't be nicer. Tub was dreading slow on the first night, and they got maintenance up to fix it right away. Wouldn't dream of staying anywhere else in town.

Nice place to stay close to everything staff here are great, very nice our second time here.

The staff is incredibly rude and doesn’t help with anything you ask for. They didn’t have their laundry room working, I found 3 spiders in my room after staying there for only one night. You are better off going literally anywhere else. I’d of rather slept in my car had I known how inconsiderate the staff was.

Great service especially Cory. He was great. Room was clean. Everything was good.

Room was missing all but 1 lightbulb, couldn't get upgrade due to malfunction. Door needed to be fixed before it would lock, the fridge was small and could barely hold my icepack for my cooler. Pool had an atrocious smell coming from it that smelled like nail polish remover. No continental breakfast, restaurant wasn't open for the season yet, however the location was good. Not far from a lot of stuff and the rates were reasonable. I didn't come to the hotel to stay there so the lack of amenities or food didn't bug me. Was a basic hotel with a not so caring manager of a rewards member and a night person that tried but told all the places dirty secrets. Probably won't be back.

Unfortunately, there was no Breakfast at the Hotel and we had to dodge into the wickedly expensive Breakfast bars!
The Bars and Saloons, as well as the Exuberant Souvenir Shops along the Street Are definitely worth one or more Visits!

Friendly staff, quiet, clean, easy access, great parking, breakfast not available, well located, happy to return there again, good coomunicatiin and room location, available fridges and microwave. Temperature was appropriate. Piol available.

The room was clean. Beds we're comfortable. Our room was off the pool side, so no views of the black hills. And I like seeing the sun come up over the hills. Over all it is not a bad place to stay. My only drawback would be to having an inward facing window.

The rooms were very nice and clean. We were five people in a room with 2 queen beds and they gave us a free upgrade to a 3 queen room. The boardwalk starts right next to the hotel so there's a lot to see. A con is that the parking spaces are really narrow and there isn't a lot of spots.

Rooms smell. Only room for bed. Have to get ready in shifts. Standing room for one. Parking space only big enough for compact car. Not enough parking spaces to accomdate guests. Had to go in hallway to get picture of room. Guest laundry is broke as well.

Friendly and nice staff. Pool and hot tub were great. Lounge staff was great and the drinks were really good. Really loved the location. Would stay again!

We gave it a five-star because the people at the front desk were very helpful and very nice and very approachable. The room was clean and the bed which was king size was very comfortable with lots of pillows. It was so close to our destination which was Mount Rushmore and Custer State Park and Crazy Horse monument. All in all a really cute town but we didn't get to check it out much just there for an overnight.

Stayed here for a night and it was excellent. The room (231) was very clean, the beds are really comfortable, and the staff was top notch. Melanie (front desk) put up with all of my questions about the area and things to do around there at 0400 and provided me a ton of helpful info. Oh and I almost forgot the rates were probably the best in keystone. We'll definitely be back.

Zero stars Room was extremely small with very very outdated furniture and TV was crappy. The bed was very uncomfortable with worn out mattress and very cheap sheets.

Room very small and out dated the mattress were from 1980's as we're the blanets and sheets. The room was clean but everything was just old and and worn out. It was staffed with people who could not speak very good English and we're not helpful we seemed to bother them. We asked for more kleenex tissues and they could not understand what we needed. Would not stay there again would give zero stars if I could.

The staffwas great, the discount price I was given was great, better then some of the lower quality motels in the area. Rooms were really good, pool was clean. Very pleased.

The place is old, but the try to keep it updated. Pet friendly is a big plus. And it's on the banks of a pretty stream. The whole area is a tourist trap for Mt. Rushmore, but it is very close!

Stayed at the Roosevelt chalet. Was a very nice and homey cabin but when reservations were made I was told we would have 1 room with one bed, 1 room with 2 beds, 2 couches that made out into beds. What we got was 1 bedroom with one bed, a loft which none of us was able to get into, 2 love seats that turned into 2 single beds. Did not accommodate all of us. However the biggest problem is the water smells like hotsprings suffer thermal pool. Could not drink or shower as the smell would run everyone out of the chalet. When I complained I was told the water doesn't stink. Hot tub on the deck was empty couldn't use it.

Rooms are dated. Rust water when starting shower. Bit expensive ($90.90 after fees for one night). Great location.

We stayed in the Washington Chalet, overall it was better than I expected. Worth 4 of 5 stars. I'd rate it better but it is slightly outdated, the shower head in the bathroom was terrible and the sleeper sofas were not comfortable at all. The road to the chalet could use some new pavement or at least something to fill in the holes, it's a steep drive (and walk up) but what isn't in that area. It's nice having a deck, a view of Mt. Rushmore and not being connected to other rooms there is another chalet next to this one but you don't even see if from the deck. The bonus of a kitchen was nice. Overall could use some upgrades but a good place to stay if you're looking for more room than just a hotel — can't be the price. I didn't deal much with the customer service, booked online, checked in and checked out without hassle. Prime location within walking distance to everything in Keystone and a quick drive to area attractions.

We stayed at the White House for one night during our stay in the Black Hills. It's an old hotel but I feel like they're trying to update as best as they can. Location was fantastic — quick access to shops, food and bars, minutes from Mount Rushmore and Iron MT drive. The manager Scott could work on his bedside manner but I only talked long enough to get my key. Bring your own pillow!

Very clean, courteous staff. Located a few minutes from Mount Rushmore. Stayed last minute, overnight. Hotel manager was very helpful, good customer service. Great access to shops along the Main Street, creek in front of the building. Family had a great time!

Very pleasant. Room was nice. Pool and hot tub were well maintained. Staff was friendly. I would stay here again. My family had a nice time.

My family and I stayed here on what was supposed to be our 3 day 2 night trip to Keystone and Mount Rushmore. When we first checked in, our room was only going to be avaliable for one night, so they upgraded us to a nicer room that was available for 2 nights for no extra charge. The rooms are very nice, comfortable and clean. On the second day of our trip, my brother who is in the military got a call saying that he was needed back at his job on base early, so we had to pack up and leave. Since it was after 5pm the second day, we did not expect a refund for the room. However, when we checked out and the staff asked why we were leaving early, they refunded us the entire amount of the second day/night of the room even though they didn't have to. That was very nice. For these reasons, I wouldn't stay at any other hotel here! Staff is willing to go above and beyond for guests and hotel is in a very nice location on the boardwalk for shopping! If you're looking for a hotel in Keystone definitely give them a shot.

We got the Lincoln Chalet which came with the worst customer service ever and a guy named Scott West (the manager) behind the counter that talked down to my wife about using the black remote for the TV instead of the white remote and so now "you messed up the whole system and I don't have time to come up there and reset the whole system". Neat idea, but horrible service. We were excited about staying here which soon changed after the service. Would not recommend this one at all. Take your money elsewhere! They don't appreciate it at White House Resort.

We areally enjoyed our stay here. It is only 10 minutes away from Mount Rushmore and very close to Custer State Park. We also ventured about an hour away to The Badlands. Our family had a great time site seeing in the area and each night our kids had a blast in the pool and hot tub. The hotel was clean and well kept. Very reasonably priced within walking distance from the tourist shops and restaurants. The staff was friendly especially Scott who seemed to be one of the hotel managers. We would recommend to anyone with kids and anyone in general who is looking for a reasonably priced placed to stay in the Mt Rushmore area.

What a great place to stay. Dropped in without reservations and they made us feel like we were at home. Very welcoming. Very clean rooms and comfortable beds. Highly recommend. Will defiantly stay again.

Great staff. Everything you could want or need for relaxing evening or weekend. We had one of the Jacuzzi rooms and truly enjoyed the relaxation of the gas fireplace. We would definitely stay again.

I rented a suite with fire place and jacuzzi tub for romantic stay for wife and I. When we tried the tub it did not work nor did the fire place. I ask to get a room for future stay at basic room rate as that is all I feel I received at this stay. Was told that would not work and was offered $20 off $141.00 charge. I realize these properties stay very busy so I guess costumer satisfaction is no big deal. Lots of other options in the area so I suggest trying another.

I did a reservation with this hotel via Orbitz. At the time of booking, I explicitly said that I am looking for a Kitchen in the room. And, I don't care about anything else but I am too particular for the Kitchen as its needed for my 1 Year old's Food. I was promised that my booking has a Kitchen. The Hotel Manager told me that orbitz booking was never with Kitchen. While my booking was with below room description: Room description: Two queen beds with kitchenette and fireplace Manager asked to take a refund and cancel this booking since my room was given to someone else (may be they found the customers to buy at higher price during the Labor Day Weekend). All his response was "i don't know how it happened. We need to check. We don't have any room with Kitchen. Do you really need a Kitchen. Etc. ". There wasn't any reason specified on how this happened. Considering there was no seriousness in the responses, I assume my room must have paid them higher than what I paid during 3 months Advance booking. And, I had to stay in a room without a kitchen for the first night. After that, Manger helped me in moving to another hotel room with Kitchen. In my short trip of 3 days (practically 2 days), it was a mess to handle all this. Considering I needed the Kitchen for my one year Old Kid's food, it was really painful to go through this mess.
