Conveniently located across from the Dakota Dome and a few blocks from USD. Rooms are clean and free breakfast is a nice touch.

This the nicest hotel I've stayed at in Vermillion. They have nice large rooms and a pretty good breakfast in the morning.

The room was supposed to be a suite, but wasn't. The lady at the front desk wasn't helpful or friendly at all, and if you are a coffee drinker, all they have is decaf k cups. for the amount we paid for the room she should have to go to walmart and pick up some regular coffee! waste of money staying here!

Was there for a small gathering in a conference room. The room was clean, ac couldn't keep up though.

Great service, beautiful room, manager is very accommodating and friendly… will stay again.

The rooms are spacious and very clean. The front desk staff has been very nice and accommodating. The teenagers in our family used both the pool and fitness center. Enjoyed both. We highly recommend.

First room had a strong sewer gas smell. Tried to get rid of it, but it only got stronger. Hotel agreed to switch rooms. Our next room was better, but not great. The sheets were really dirty. Its not like they were just to wrinkled for my taste, they were hairy and had chunks of dirt throughout. There was food crumbs on the table and dirty towels. So not a great experience, but the manager was helpful. 2 stars given since it was at least a little better than sleeping outside in South Dakota winter.

Easy stay checking in was a breeze and we won our hockey games so the weekend was pretty ferda.

It's the best option in Vermillion, however the hotel is as polished as it will ever be. If you're traveling with a group I'd recommend catering from Old Lumber Company. Rooms were fine. Again, best option hands down in Vermillion.

Clean, spacious rooms, well lit lobby, bright joyful colors, wonderful hot and cold breakfast. Good exercise room.

Extremely overpriced for this time of year. Room service was skipped all week even without DND sign in door.

Bugs… We were weary travelers passing thru for a family reunion. We typically book ahead online to try to get the best deal but since we were exhausted we simply popped in. The pricing of this particular room was way higher than we'd typically pay for a room but it was late and our options were limited, we took the room. We have traveled extensively and usually have fabulous luck with HDI's. Unfortunately we could not say the same about the Vermillion location. The front desk staff was pleasant and we had a good nights sleep. That is until we woke up in the morning to find 2 bugs scurrying across the bathroom floor when I turned the light on. I am no expert on types of bugs but my quick research online made me cringe and realize that I'd have to unpack all our stuff in the garage when we got home to make sure they did not ride home with us. There were also a number of fruit-fly type of bugs in our room. I killed the 2 on the floor and took them to the front desk. She took them and told me the general manager would call me. We did receive a call within a couple of hours, however I was disappointed that it was the front desk staff, not the general manager. The staff member informed me that we would get discount on the room. It was an ok gesture but was disappointed in this for 2 reasons. First that the manager did not make the call to me. Second, even with the "discount", the room was still more expensive than other area hotels.

This morning I noticed two bugs, one in the bathroom and one over the bed. On my way to work, I stopped by front desk and showed the lady at the front desk pictures (of the bugs) and asked if they could spray while I was gone. I called later in the afternoon, they explained they had sprayed, good to go, I walked into room and on the ceiling another bug! I asked front desk to please come look. She apologized and offered to move me to another room (next door) I was lied to, there is no way they sprayed, also patched walls, dirty carpet and GREEN pool. PASS on this filthy hotel!

It was clean and the manager was GREAT! I would definitely recommend this location and hope to visit Vermillion and stay there again in the future.

Nice hotel, always clean and comfortable. Staff always friendly and genuinely ask about travels and how the day went. Always my go-to hotel when I'm in the SE corner of the state. Will be back again soon I'm sure!

Nice ane peaceful but the maids dont return lost items! Lost two pair of my glasses and went to the front desk about 5 times still nothing so enjoy them.

60.00 more a night than any other place around there. But can't get a room there because they are all full and this is like a ghost town. Pool and hot tub out of commission rooms in poor repair even after a recent remodel. Not sure why they think they can ask 151.00 a night + tax.

Hotel is very easy to get to om the bypass. Close to Dakota Dome. Friendly staff on hand. Full continental breakfast on lobby wirh plenty of seating. Indoor pool and fitness center. Rooms were clean and nice with microwaves, fridge, coffee pot, and tv. Wpuld definitely stay again.

Pretty convenient stay! Nice and quiet when sleeping. Pool and exercise room available if you're into that. Breakfast had cinnamon rolls and biscuits and gravy. Two of my personal favorites. Beds were comfy as well.

Customer service was great, hotel needs updated. But looks like the were in the middle of updating.

Rude employees there hatefull to one another the housekeepers are dirty looking and don't clean rooms properly they say remodeling renovations yeah maybe some but nothing that explains the horrible smells in most of the rooms they have two housekeepers that really worked and did there job then there where another two who seemed to never leave the main floor and always stepping out to smoke then the cigarette smell is all down the main floor Hall I watched the one with the hearing aides she stuck her arm and head out the door to smoke made no sense she might as well have shut the door and smoked in the hallway it was blowing inside anyway I will never recommend holiday inn to any one even my worst enemy go to Best Western hotel chain or Hilton and most definitely Marriott hotel chain.

Checked into this hotel at 10pm on a Sunday night. Was told the room would he $135 but was charged $170. Which is outrageous for a Sunday night during the winter. I was like whatever its only a $45 difference. The next day I looked at my bank account and I was charged another $227 on top of the other $170. I called immediately and they said I was charged for smoking in the room, I don't smoke. They wouldn't give me any further information and told me to call back and talk to the manager. Still haven't heard anything from them. Will never stay here again.

Hotel was under renovation during the stay. Outside street lamp was so bright it came through the gaps of the blinds and lit the room during the night. Breakfast was bland. Staff was friendly.

There were no lids for the coffee cups during breakfast. When I asked the attendants to restock them, they explained to me that the lids were locked in the manager's office and they couldn't get to them until she came in. I also needed a hypoallergenic pillow because I forgot mine at home, and those were also locked in the office. This seems like poor management and poor hospitality. I will not be staying here again.
