Review of Motel 6-Rapid City, SD 2*

We requested a handicap accessible, non-smoking room for three nights. We only stayed two nights because we could no longer tolerate the stinky room (it REEKED of smoke) or the unbelievably nasty attitude of the woman at the lobby office. We asked that our room be cleaned and it wasn't despite the cleaning personnel being aware of our request and working on the room next to ours. We paid for internet access and then were told that we didn't pay and would need to pay again in order to get online. We finally went to the office for about the 4th time and just asked to have our payment for the final night refunded so we could leave and go to a different, cleaner, friendlier motel for a lower price. We had stayed at that particular Motel 6 several years ago and it was excellent. We stayed this time and it was a disaster. The people running it now have turned it into the kind of dump that no respectable people will use. You ought to send someone to inspect it and see what a disaster it is. If people think all Motel 6 locations are like this one you will find yourselves out of business. We believe we should have been given a refund for all the nights we stayed there since we never did get a clean room, replacement of used towels, a non-smoking room or anything else we asked for when we made the reservation. The only positive think I can say about the visit is the treatment we got from a young man who was working at the desk when we finally demanded a refund of our payment for the final night. He was professional and seemed like if he had been in charge of the motel things would have been handled much, much more professionally. The woman who is in charge would benefit from having that young man teach her how to manage a motel correctly.
