Quaint and cool historic place to stay! Rooms had very minimal amenities. Affordable and nicely decorated.

I love this place. Historic place with a great vibe. Each room is different. You can go downstairs where there is a comfy area to sit and watch TV. There is a stage, pool table, old wooden bar (no beverages served) and tables. Nice place to relax. Room was nice and comfy. One of the best host, very friendly and helpful.

Was here back earlier this year in the March time frame or so, great place to stay in the Lead. Very beautiful and the owner and his wife are both very friendly. We stayed in the Heart Shaped Jacuzzi room and it was the perfect Romantic Getaway in the heart of South Dakota!

My wife and I took a chance and WOW, we had the opportunity to meet the owners and they were wonderful. The site was small on the outside and huge and beautiful on the inside. Absolutely lovely. Hotel in review but bed and breakfast on a larger scale. I would recommend to everyone. Lead SD, is a ski town with a wonderful ski venue. And only 5 minutes to Deadwood to gamble. This hotel has a lovely finished basement for larger family gatherings like Christmas, or grooms dinners. Absolutely beautiful site. We are from nicollet MN.

Great stay, Nancy was the best! Met us and took is to our room, even gave me some q-tips since I forgot mine and the store across the road didn't have any. Had a pleasant conversation with her and a few quests the next morning in the breakfast/guest lounge (not bar) area. It was a short but great stay!

I can't say enough about this Hotel. The extent they have went to give people a nice place to stay. Our room in particular has a kitchenette. They have even put dishes in the cupboard. Great place and they've definitely went the extra mile! Also love the history of it. Thank You ;)

Great hotel to stay at but some of the rooms were small and they need an ice machine also they don't clean the rooms everyday and there's no storage for your clothes.

This place is awesome! Every room is a little different from the next. A quaint, quiet place that is clean and very homey. Fresh continental breakfast with real dishes and silverware. Would highly recommend and we will be back!

Had an AWESOME 2-night stay here. The managers, Nancy and her husband, were VERY kind and hospitable. Our room was amazingly comfortable, parking was adequate, NICE continental breakfast. Would DEFINITELY stay here again!

I realized that I had failed to review this hotel after my overnight stay, so I think I will do it now, considering that the owner/management seems to still be in place, based upon the most recent reviews. First off, Nancy rocks. She got me into a cheap one-bed overnight room at the last minute when I needed solid shelter after three days of rain on my cross-country bicycle tour. Secondly, if you stop here, you can either use the accommodation to R and R privately in your room (as I did out of utter exhaustion), or you can socialize with like-minded people in the common area which they provide. I regret that I was unable to hang out, but I got a good vibe just passing hotels guests in the hallway corridors. Friendly people and friendly staff. Recommend.

Road tripping from Chicago and looked for a place to stay near Mt Rushmore, definitely worth the hour drive! Nancy the manager and her husband Greg are both incredibly kind and generous and made us feel right at home. Room was clean, and breakfast was good. It was the nicest and most affordable hotel stay during our trip.

Comfortable rooms and good breakfast.

This place was quaint and quiet. The hotel staff was very friendly, efficient and pleasant.
The rooms were clean and quiet.
Breakfast was a nice balance of fruit and carbs. Coffee brewed fresh every morning.
Overall, we enjoyed the charm and privacy this small hotel offered. However, it surprised us how many options we had to move around in this hotel. We enjoyed great conversation with other guest both on the covered patio and in the common area for breakfast.

I recommend this hotel to anyone visiting this charming town full of rich mining history.

The Dakota Spur is a charming motel in Lead South Dakota. The owners and managers were on site and helped customers with even the smallest details. The rooms clean, well decorated in a western theme, the beds very comfortable. I slept very well. I'm yet to visit the breakfast bar down stairs. We plan on spending one more night in town. It's Neutrino Day in lead SD. The town will be full of people and scientists.

Great Value and Neat Atmosphere. We had a great stay and will stay again. Nice outdoor covered patio where you can hang out. Great location to lots of different attractions. We will be back — Jake was great! Nicely updated by the new ownership.
