We are being denied a refund because Landoll’s cancelled the performance.
They are totally uncooperative!

We ate in the dining room which is nice, but ordinary. I ordered the charcuterie plate. After waiting half an hour, I got an ridiculous plate of food. The giant Dutch pretzel was to be expected from the menu. There were a few kinds of meat like pepperoni. Then, the rest of the plate was piled high with several pounds (and I’m not exaggerating) of cheese cubes. Enough cheese cubes for a cocktail party. I should have ordered the BLT. My husband had the fish sandwich. The waitress to him the fries were the best around. They were not. After taking so long for a disappointing lunch, we didn’t bother to check out the castle.

The receptionist answering the phone during the corona shutdown was great and very accommodating. I look forward to using the vouchers for a future event.

The restaurant was nice. We sat at the bar and ordered food. The 4 ladies I care for really enjoyed the atmosphere and the food. The bartender came up to me after we ate and stated the bill was on him. Each of our plates were $20 a plate and our drinks. That was really nice of him and made the ladies evening.

Had a wonderful experience. Beautiful and peaceful atmosphere. Super clean and spacious rooms!

It was something to believe in. Not a skeptic no more. Great restaurant.

This place was amazing! The suites were beautiful and customer service was top notch. We enjoyed our dinner at the restaurant with delicious food and service was the best. The peace and quiet in the middle of nowhere was exactly what we wanted for our 40th anniversar❣️

We had dinner at the Grill and the food was delicious. The grounds are beautiful! This a lovely venue for a wedding, special evening, or romantic getaway. They also offer ghost tours.

We were there for comedy night. We were pleasantly surprised at the intimacy of the room. The food was okay. We were disappointed they pass of roast beef as short ribs. It was good, though. No rolls with dinner or desert. The comedians were great and very funny. The castle was gorgeous.

My husband and I stayed at the castle from 7/22-7/28. We loved the castle experience, and the staff was very helpful and friendly. It is a beautiful environment and very relaxing. We stayed in the Miller suite, since it was our anniversary, and we don’t usually splurge like this. The room was nice and big and the plaster ceiling was truly amazing.
But… for the cost of the room, we both felt the housekeeping and amenities were not up to par at all.
When we arrived, we immediately noticed that the coffee maker had not been cleaned from the previous customer. I washed it so we could use it. The water glass in the bathroom was absolutely dirty. I washed it myself so I could use it. There was a tiny shelving unit in the bathroom and the shelves were very dirty, grimy. The shower was absolutely beautiful, but leaked horribly all over the floor. We had to use at least 3 towels every day to mop that up after showering. The sink was clogged and would not drain when running water… my husband removed a disgusting hair clog from the drain. Even that didn’t solve the clog issue. Out in the living and bedroom areas every lamp shade was coated with dust. They were black lampshades… so it was very obvious. The TV reception was horrible, every channel was like watching through a snow storm. There was no internet reception, sporadic at best, in the room. We were given an internet log and password but that didn’t work either.

Such a beautiful and special place for us! Spent our wedding weekend there… so beautiful and enjoyable for the whole family or a romantic getaway. It made for such beautiful wedding pictures and the staff was extremely helpful and kind. The restaurant was great and very accommodating! A must do!

We stayed here for a wedding. The grounds were absolutely beautiful. Our room had a refrigerator but was a bit small and full of drinks for purchase so we had to remove the stocked drinks so we could use it. They had an observation deck that was 60 steps up a tower where you could see the whole grounds. It was very remote so if you’re going to be there any length of time would recommend stopping at the IGA in town for supplies. There was a pool on site as well which was nice to beat the heat. As it was VERY HUMID and the in room AC had hard time keeping up. But the grounds were very nice!

I'm only giving it 1 star because Google won't let me give it 0. The customer service here is a joke. We reserved a room. A few days later we were told via email that a wedding party had reserved the entire place and that our reservation was canceled and we would be refunded. Later that same day we received a call saying that we could stay if we would like just couldn't use the restaurant. So we rebooked and received a new confirmation email. So we get down there today go to check in and they won't even let us up the driveway. Claiming we have no reservation and the woman denies ever speaking with us. This place is a joke.

Such a relaxing and romantic night. The grounds are beautiful and well maintained. Our room was so fun, and included 3 balconies! We enjoyed both supper and breakfast at The Copper Mug and both meals were delicious. The blueberry jam is a must!

My husband and I attended a wedding here for our good friends last month. We are from New York, and the 6 hour drive was well worth it. We stayed Thursday-Sunday in Bright. The staff at reception were very friendly, showed us to our room and showed us a little bit of the grounds. The room was spotless, well stocked, and ready for us to move in for the weekend. We spent the next day setting up various spaces for the upcoming wedding. I cannot say enough good things about the coolest guy we met all weekend — David. David was instrumental in making sure we had everything we needed all weekend. From tables and chairs to linens and behind the scenes moral support (as well as providing our bride and groom with plenty of opportunities to laugh and enjoy their day), David helped this weekend come together beautifully. I wanted to leave this review to say how much we enjoyed our time here, but also to show our appreciation for David. Thanks for Icing our groomsmen too!

My husband and I were just recently wed at the castle. The ground were beautiful, and it was a lovely ceremony, despite the unexpected rain. We were a little disappointed with the wedding planner, who claimed that she would 'be there for us the whole time', but seemed to disappear for a few hours. She also let another party run their rehearsal TWO HOURS before our actual ceremony, which added an insane amount of stress to both the groom and I, as that wedding part was touching all of our ceremony AND reception setup stuff. Really that is the only reason this wasn't 5 stars. That being said, the service was fantastic, and if you get a bartender for your wedding, make sure you request AUTUMN! She was so genuinely nice and fantastic to us throughout the entire evening. My only regret is that we could not tip her more! The bussers/servers were also really nice, and did a great job. As for the room, it was also lovely. We only stayed for the night after our ceremony, but the bed was pretty comfortable, the layout of the rooms is fantastic, and the Jacuzzi tub in the bathroom was phenomenal after a long night of dancing and walking in heels.

I really enjoyed my experience here for lunch. There were four of us and we got to enjoy our meal on the patio. It's a nice overlook of the area full of trees and hills. The food was pretty tasty, we only shared some appetizers, but really enjoyed the food. The real stand out of the experience was the $4 beers. Some stellar deals on that list. Our server, Jessica, was attentive, friendly, and spectacular.

Went to the castle for a tour and information, had a great tour guide whose name escapes me. He not only told us about events information and about staying there, but also the history of the area. Answered our questions and was very professional. Afterwards we had lunch there and it was delicious! Our server was excellent and even pointed out I paid with an extra $20 which he gave change for just in case. Overall had a fantastic time and will definitely be back for an overnight stay.

My husband, son and I stayed in 2 different rooms last weekend. (Scheduling glitch on my part) The staff was friendly, helpful and attentive, making the transition to the new room as easy as possible. The food was delicious, and we were fortunate enough to have family staying in other rooms, so we enjoyed seeing other parts of the castle and cottages. My only complaint is in both bathrooms, there is a lovely pedestal sink, but nowhere to lay your hairdryer, comb, hairspray or makeup. I finally laid a towel in the sink and worked from there. The bathrooms are quite large with enough room for a small table or chest to lay items on. I highly recommend this.

Beautiful grounds. Friendly staff. Amazing restaurant. Next time I go, and there will be a next time, I will chose a different cabin. Macbeth is the only all natural stone cabin built in the late 1800 I believe. The rest are more luxurious. The Macbeth is nice but is more for someone who is not afraid of spiders. Remember, you are a guest. The beautiful woods surrounding this Castle has been here long before us. Have respect for the nature inhabiting it.

If your pivotal advertisement is going to be that Gordon Ramsay showcased your world class menu, then you better deliver and you failed to do that. You may even want to invite him back. We arrived early for our reservation and the hostess seemed rushed to seat us. I explained to her that I knew we were early and we were not in a hurry. We reviewed the drink menu at the bar and were seated shortly thereafter. A waitress came over and introduced herself and took our drink orders. The mixed drinks were terrible and sent back for beers and we then seemed to have a mix of three waitresses. The service was prompt, but impersonal and hurried. When the food came out, the presentation was decent, but nothing to write home about. Portion sizes were sufficient, but the food lacked world class taste. The Delmonico tasted like it was cooked on a flat iron grill or a pan, the sprouts were bland, the Walleye was unremarkable the only good things I heard from our party of six was the horseradish mashed were amazing and the salmon was good. Save your time with the zucchini chips, they are not worth the price, but the sauce was great. I drove 3 hours to meet my family that drove 2 hours to meet me. I thought we were at the best place in the area, but could not have been more disappointed. The atmosphere was lacking, the food was below average for the price and the service was mediocre. I wasn't expecting The Capital Grille, but I was hoping at least for better than Applebee's.

This place is beautiful. It was peaceful and our room was cozy, but spacious. We enjoyed the fireplace and the heated tile in the bathroom. There were multiple outside areas we could access directly from our room, including a 360° view from a turret of the castle. The Copper Mug is an easy walk and has delicious food. While pricier than we were used to, it was well worth the cost and the dishes were big enough to share. We were a little disappointed with our private pool experience since the pool was supposed to be heated, but it was cold. However, we still had fun playing on the pool table in a side room of the building. The hot tub was nice every time we tried it. It's very close to multiple cities in the area which allows for fun day trips and we enjoyed shopping in the area. We would definitely recommend this place for any length of visit.
