The hotel was super nice lack of storage space in room and the bathroom door not staying closed and sliding open were a little disappointing, but staff was super friendly our stay was over all good … until the next morning we went to the restaurant to get breakfast the buffet was offered right away all for of us decided that would be fine … food was awful eggs were under cooked muffins hard and dry, sausages was awful tasting, it was maybe a few more options then the free breakfast others have but tasted awful compared to them and then we got the bill almost $80 for four buffet breakfast $18.50 a person only drink included in that price is coffee! Was very disappointed such a nice hotel would allow a restaurant in their facility to sever and charge such awful food and prices!

My husband and I were there for the wedding reception for our nephew and his wife. We had a great time and the food was great.

Great pool and outdoor area with lots of patio furniture and fire pits. All the staff provided excellent service. Really enjoyed the omelet on Sunday prepared by Lorna. Would recommend this property as the place to stay in Dayton.

No place to put your clothes! No dressers or even shelving! Throne closet that could have shelves has an ironing board and iron taking up the entire space and the top sate not cheap!

Here for a 50th College reunion. The staff is the most outstanding asset at this Hotel. So impressed that they helped with every request we had. I felt like they really cared! Whenever we needed a ride they dropped everything and took us immediately. I would recommend this place for their 5-star service. Thank you so much!

This hotel is amazing. The rooms are great, beds are comfy and the pool is both indoor and outdoor. We love staying here and the staff here is fantastic! The only complaint would be the elevators are a bit slow but there are only 6 floors so it's not a big deal.

I had a wonderful stay at the Marriott. The staff was very friendly and could even accommodate a last minute room request. The room was spacious and clean and very comfortable to relax in. The restaurant was superb, one of the best sandwiches I've ever had. The location was ideal, located in a very lovely area of Dayton and very close to the museums and restaurants we wanted to experience. Will definitely have this hotel on the top of our if we make it back to Dayton for another visit.

Had my wedding here, and the catering services manager, Katie, was phenomenal. The bar and catering staff— especially Pam— was wonderful. Extremely accommodating and went above and beyond However, the front desk messed up many of my guest reservations. I had to call many, many times to fix their mistakes. When I arrived the night of the rehearsal, they wouldn’t let me check in even though I’d arranged early check in. They caused me a lot of stress the day before the wedding.

Very nice hotel. Clean, staff is very friendly and helpful. Room is nice and clean. The pool is awesome. It is one size that is designed to be inside and outside of the hotel. There's even an exercise room right next to the pool. Only reason I gave four out of five stars is because they could use just a tad bit more parking spaces.

This hotel is amazing. Modern, great location and excellent service. The food was really great and reasonably priced drinks at the bar. The staff went above and beyond the call of duty to accommodate any requests and they felt more like friends than staff. The location is great with beautiful views of the river and a quiet serenity.

Nice hotel. The staff is very pleasant and professional. Housekeeping responded quickly to my request for more hangers. Antwoine did a great job taking care of our room and making sure I had decaf coffee. Our only issue was the loud noise caused by an outside air conditioning unit/compressor. We would definitely stay there again, we would just request a different room.

The people working at this hotel are the most helpful & friendly that I have ever encountered. Always smiling and asking if I needed anything. Quick check in. Pool & fitness center were fantastic. Food excellent. But the ultimate was when I got into my rental car, covered with about 5 inches of snow & one of the staff came by and brushed all the snow off my car. Incredible service! And this gal from southern AZ appreciated it!

Couldn't be more pleased, this is my third night and I have literally nothing to complain of. I didn't book the room, so can't comment on that or cost, but the furnishings are great, I've slept more than I have in months on the bed. Service is great. The pool is not large or deep but it is indoor/outdoor, and you can swim through the barrier to go outside. Also has a hot tub. It was quite busy Saturday night. The only other criticism is that the shower head is not the best I've ever had, it's a regular spray with no hand held or settings.

Outstanding service staff — — went out of their way to help me out during a small emergency — — this first impression and professional displayed by the front service staff is consistent with the first rate accommodation and makes Marriott my first choice for overnight stays. I'll be this hotel's biggest advocate! You won't be disappointed with this staff, services, accommodations and facilities.

Hotel is in a nice quiet location, about a 12 minute walk from a strip of restaurants near the university. Room was very clean and we'll furnished. The on site restaurant has excellent breakfast and a full bar. I would select this property again if returning to Dayton.

The rooms are VERY nice. We stayed in a ground floor one King bed room which had all the things you would want in a hotel. The location is great for events at UD and Downtown Dayton. Staff was very nice and helpful.

The Marriott at the University of Dayton recently completed renovations. The rooms are very nice with contemporary furnishings. Room and bathroom we're clean. The ballrooms were also very nice and met our needs. The front desk staff was friendly and allowed me to leave a few items there for someone else to pick up. Overall, it was a pleasant experience.

I was so impressed with this hotel after staying recently for a conference (aka max capacity). ALL the staff were so helpful and nice! I had a baby with me and they made such an effort to be accommodating, from requests for extra towels, pack n play, to just bringing an extra coffee over in the lobby since they knew I was drinking them and would be hard to get up. This hotel had a special touch I’ve never seen before: in the very nice exercise facilities they had small map cards of a 3-mile run folks can take around hotel area. Thoughtful touches like this are really appreciated! Makes me want to stay at a Marriott!

This hotel does things right! From your first interaction at the front desk, being welcomed with a smile, to the concierge lounge, where Missy and Diana, greet you by name after they've met you once. The rooms are up to date and clean. But then they go the extra step. Being there for a spring snow storm, they had their staff out helping clear off the cars. This is why whenever in Dayton, this is the place to stay for me!

Remodeled in 2017, fresh, clean, comfortable and friendly. The refreshed Dayton Marriott now features open public spaces, a group-friendly bar and restaurant area, and modernized rooms. I visit frequently for business purposes. Old bathroom fixtures were totally removed, replaced by glass showers with large sliding doors for easy access. (I don’t understand why they didn’t install shower heads with adjustable water patters, but I’m being a nit-picky frequent guest. ) Towels are plentiful — no need to call the desk for extras on arrival for one or two people. The room lighting is good, with many options for full-room, bedside and workspace. My only complaint is that the air conditioner fan doesn’t run independently of heating and cooling cycles, which means there’s no air circulation in the sealed rooms. If you’re an Elite Marriott guest, be sure you ask about access to the concierge floor. If you’re not, it’s worth a few extra dollars in room charge to get access to the lounge, which offers a good, basic hot breakfast, evening snacks and desserts, and a variety of beverages.

I stayed here for two days during a conference and truly enjoyed my stay. Aside from the clean and comfortable rooms, what was most pleasing to me was the friendly, helpful staff. I had the opportunity to interact with staff bringing room service, driving Marriott shuttle busses and at the front desk and ALL of the staff members were kind, helpful, accommodating and fun! Kudos to this team for engaging great people to be a part of their staff and going above and beyond for guests.

Just in town for the night but great hotel. Room was clean and well kept with a very comfotable bed and rooms appeared to be recently updated. Didn't have a chance to enjoy the restaurant or bar but the whole hotel was packed with happy people the night I was there but the room was still plenty quiet and I was able to get some rest. The hotel is located in a nice part of town and is close to many restaurants and it was easy to get to the highway to get to the Base, University, or to the airport.

I was at the Marriott for a career fair as an employer. Parking was easy. Lobby and convention room was clean and well lit. The food that was served to employers was excellent. The rest of the facility seemed clean and well kept.

Great service at this hotel. Very nice restaurant. Really enjoy the king bed and updated rooms. Nice size TV and upscale bathrooms are a nice luxury when looking to unwind.

Wonderful service at this hotel and a good location near downtown Dayton. The room was really clean and nicely updated. The TV had a lot of channels. Only negative is there was no complimentary breakfast or breakfast buffet. Other than that, I really enjoyed my stay!

We were there for the NYE party, which was awsome, by the way. I've always loved the Dayton Marriott & have stayed there many times before and after the recent renovation. The only reason it lacks 5 stars from me is because of the recent room renovation & specifically the lack of a real bathroom door. For goodness sake, put the real doors back. A sliding piece of glass that doesn't seal or close all the way is ridiculous for a room that begs privacy. Also the only full length mirror is behind the open area where clothes are hung? Really? Not sure what the designers were thinking. Otherwise, rooms are clean, beds comfortable, and staff are great! The bar staff are especially exceptional, although I miss the warm welcoming atmosphere of the former Gambits. The new bar/restaurant is a bit cold, impersonal, & sterile looking for my taste. Feels more like a doctor's office than a gathering place. Sometimes new & modern isn't always better.

We stayed here December 29th and 30th. Very clean hotel! The rooms were a bit smaller than normal, but not terrible. Pool was great and hot tub was HOT (first hotel hot tub that I've been in in a long time that was actually hot and pretty deep) the chemicals were a little on the strong side though. Restaurant was good! There are tons of places nearby to eat and drink as well. I would stay here again if we were in the area.

The construction is finally about 95% done, so don't expect to be woken up by a jackhammer on your next day. Very friendly staff, clean rooms, and a decent breakfast selection. Although mostly considered a business hotel in my opinion, also family friendly with a indoor and outdoor pool as well as lots of outdoor seating. The 24 hour marketplace is also well-stocked and should meet your needs.

Great location. Check in was a breeze. Came here with my wife on a business visit at University of Dayton, loved the space and the quality of the furniture. Recommend this if you are visiting Wright State hospital or University on official business. Also provides a free shuttle to downtown.

Great hotel. Clean. Updated and good location. Would have given it a 5 star if the price wasn't so high. Not a good value at that price and no free breakfast. Weird thing about the room doors. They only open just past half way and stop. They do not open all the way due to a installed 8" door stop on the back of the door at the top. Hard to get your luggage in to the room when the door only opens half way! If I had a screw driver, I would have removed that worthless and poorly installed door stop.

Nice rooms that have recently been renovated. Nice courtyard outside area for gathering. Checked in at 4pm and had to wait 30 minutes for a room. Breakfast was on the high side at $14.95 for the buffet for adults.

Great staff. Fantastic place to have a large group. That have the room and the support staff to handle it. Close enough to the highway for convenience but far enough away to be quiet.

The location was great. Right next to the river and very close to downtown. I didn't stay in a room, but the front end was very impressive. The ballroom was beautiful.

The rooms are stellar. Zero complaints for the hotel itself. However, the type of people who seem to stay here are the entitled people who think they are better than others. They are loud, obnoxious, and downright rude. If you want a quiet restful sleep you're probably better off going to the Truckstop down the street and sleeping in your vehicle. Hotel staff will not make anyone quiet down, because it's more about the Benjamin's.

Love staying here, just don't get a flashy car. My friend had the wheels stolen off his Cadillac from the parking lot. The new updated rooms have smart TVs. They treat platinums real well.

Attended a professional training here. Impressed with the amenities, decor, and service. They were able to accommodate my special needs promptly and without fuss.

The romance package was great. Once my wife and I got into our room, it wasn't 5-10 min that the staff delivered champagne and chocolate dipped strawberries. Perfect timing. The room was near spotless and looked just as I had expected for a 4 star hotel. The romance package also allowed us to check out around 3 pm rather than 11 or 12. The late check out time was just what we needed. Lunch at their on site restaurant was rather delicious as well. All around we had a very pleasant stay.

Recently renovated. The rooms are nice, clean, with recent appliances. The restraunt has good food, and a bar with decent prices. This is the hotel we always stay at when we're in Dayton.

This hotel is awesome, clean and spacious rooms. The receptionist started out snappy but once confronted she was awesome. So far so good… more to come.

The hotel is clean, efficient and comfortable. There was a small mix up with one room where they gave one of our group a key and it worked for the correct room but another guest's things were there. They resolved the issue immediately but it was slightly irritating to deal with.

We were here for a Bible convention at the Butter Center. The rooms were clean and the staff very helpful with questions before and during our stay. On a personal note… love the shower and bathroom lighting for putting on my makeup.

Remodeled rooms and public areas. Rooms are small but we'll utilized with the new furnishings. The bar and grill eatery is nice but expensive for food and drink. Great place for meetings and catering events. Overall will be very nice once it's done with renovations.

Was here for a wedding and stay the night before and after. Hotel is under construction but they were really great about keeping the construction out of sight. The wedding was beautiful and the ballroom was great. My biggest complaint was that within the newly renovated hotel rooms the bathroom doors are just a sliding smoked glass… no lock and ours didn't even stay closed. My 3 year old wouldn't leave it alone which left me constantly trying to keep her away from it instead of relaxing while we were in the room. Just not the type of design I would think they would want in a room with 2 queen beds meaning that there might be children or at best work acquaintances sharing a room. (would have been uncomfortable if I wasn't direct family with the people sharing my room).

Under construction… stayed in a renovated room… no storage, no closet, no drawers — bathroom is ridiculously small. Marriott has really gone low budget. Bar under renovation, dining room is make-shift, Marriott food has never been good… they keep that tradition alive. Nice staff but the rooms are very tight.

I visited this location for the after-party of WGI World Championships. The after party is always held in the lobby and bar of the Marriott. The Marriott does a wonderful job to cater to so many people for this event! Year after year I enjoy myself more and more.

Was there for Erma Bombeck Writing Workshop. Accommodations were plentiful, staff was very helpful.

Delightful staff great food. Real classy restaurant. I didn't stay the night but I was there for a family gathering in the restaurant for Easter. I would reccomend for any occasion.

This is a sub-par below average Marriott. Hotel grounds/rooms need to be updated. In-room dinning is lacking in customer service in the evening. They came to my room several times with the wrong order. The TV also froze and a few of the remote buttons just stopped working. The free guest internet also stopped working which is not good for business travelers. Luckily, I have hot spot Wi-Fi on my cell phone. I guess there isn't much competition in the area so the need to provide better service is low.

Nice Marriott. The room is clean and comfortable. Service and staff are great! Location is very practical. There are 2 restaurants on site. Bar is open until late as well. 24H fitness room and indoor pool from 6am to 11pm. You are less then 10 minutes away from Brown street where there are lots of restaurants and very close to the university. I've stayed here a few times and would stay again when in the area. All in all very satisfied.

While an older property, it's been renovated somewhat recently to good effect. The TV system is pretty nice compared to other properties. Internet is reasonably fast. Pool and fitness center are good for a workout or dip. It's my go to Marriott in the area when in town on business.

The rooms, food, and drink were fantastic! Rooms were spacious. My only issue was that the bathrooms did not have a ventilation fan, so showers steamed up a ton.

First time ever staying at the Marriott by UD. Very clean and spacious room with a balcony and great view. Netflix on the TV is a nice touch. Accessing the Wi-Fi was a little confusing, but that's the only issue I had. Their free shuttle to campus was great and saved a lot of effort getting out. Great experience I can see why this is always booked for visits.

Stayed one night on the first floor and had a comfortable time. Staff were friendly and helpful. Hotel was mostly quiet and conveniently located to restaurants and my work. Bedding and towels were nice, and the shower had good pressure. Intense ess pleasantly fast.

Met all my expectations. Clean room, good gym, quiet, quick front desk service and some free refreshments. Nothing exciting, but no negatives.

The hotel is close to the university and the reception was friendly but the rooms and bathrooms are very small, there are no microwaves or refrigerators in the room. We had to request it from the front desk; it took a long time for the appliances to arrive at the room, which made us late for the meeting. Our room was on the first floor overlooking the construction site, patio was muddy and chairs and a table was missing, we had to "borrow" a chair from the neighboring rooms :{ This hotel does not offer complementary beverages or continental breakfast so if you are visiting your student plan on making the reservations at local restaurants well in advance. For the price of the room and the name like Marriot we left disappointed.

The hotel sent me a very nice e-mail before I arrived and asked if I needed anything. I ordered a refrigerator for my room. I then received a nice conformation. Arriving at the hotel, I didn't have the refrigerator in my room. I had to ask for it. What was the purpose of having me ask for it first if it wasn't delivered to my room? The next day my room wasn't cleaned and no clean towels were brought to my room. At 4:00pm I had to ask for someone to do my room as the maid working close by said she didn't do my room. So I can't take a nap or relax until they finish, if they do it at all. I am still waiting. This is the worst service I have every had at Marriot, and I am a long time rewards member. Very disappointing.

I've been staying here 2 weeks out of every three since September 2013. The front desk staff are friendly and helpful, the rooms are quiet (never awaken in the middle of the night), the food is pretty good. I stayed here several times back in the late 90's when it was a Marriott Courtyard, too, loved it then as well.

Has an indoor pool, decent gym. The Hotel is a bit dated, but if you are a gold/platinum member, they have the breakfast spread and dinner. Customer service was good. Laundry was free, didn't have to have roll of quarters. It was clean and well kept. Decent stay.

Business traveler and been on the road most of this year. This is a nice clean place. It is an older hotel-guessing from the late 70's-early 80's. Well maintained, remodeled. Small bathrooms, but nice shower and good water pressure, etc. Staff is excellent, morning and evening. Shuttle drivers prompt and courteous. Also, my room on the 3rd floor was very quiet. As usual, the hotel restaurant/bar are overpriced. I had a bacon cheeseburger was nearly $14 before tip. Was very good and with fries, it was almost more than I could eat. Centrally located for downtown and Brown street with its array of restaurants, mostly fast type. Smashburger, Chipotle, Hothead Burritos, etc. I will stay here again on my next trip to Dayton and would recommend this for business or vacation overnights.
