Worst hotel experience I have ever had. When we first arrived, we were given keys to a fourth floor room. Upon opening the door, it was clear that the room had NOT BEEN CLEANED. The beds were unmade, there were used towels throughout the room, and nothing had been straightened. Of course we were issued a new, clean room with a mumbled, pathetic apology. The next morning, my husband had somewhere to be, so we left at 8:35 am. Not wanting to take everything down later, we took some of our belongings down with us. When we got back to our room 30 minutes later (9:15 am), the housekeeper had GONE INTO OUR ROOM, PACKED UP OUR REMAINING PERSONAL BELONGINGS, AND TAKEN THEM DOWN TO THE FRONT DESK. I was livid. When I questioned the housekeeper (who was cleaning a neighboring room) about our belongings, she responded, "Oh, I saw you leaving and assumed you were checking out. " She had seen us leave with one suitcase and assumed we were leaving for good. What right did she have to go into our room and pack up the rest of our belongings? We had bags in there, toiletries, clothing — many items that should have indicated to any housekeeper that we were NOT checking out. If she had stopped to think for 14 seconds, she would have NOT packed up for us. So rude. One thing I felt was peculiar was that the housekeeper had my $50 water bottle on her cart… Somehow she had failed to take it down with my other personal items. Infer what you will… When we actually did check out, I told the front desk clerk and manager what had happened. They both just stared at me as if what had happened wasn't a big deal at all. The clerk mumbled a feeble, insincere apology, though she clearly didn't understand my concerns or why I was upset. I am appalled. I feel like my privacy was invaded. Whether the housekeeper thought she was helping out or not, I will never stay at this hotel again, and would not recommend it to anyone who enjoys privacy.
