The girl at the front desk was so nice and helpful she put us on the first floor so Cindy and Josie didn’t have to go up the stairs.

Very friendly staff we had a lot of fun in the pool because although it was raining outside the pool is inside the building.

1 Star. Don’t stay at this hotel. Like other reviews you will read it is well below average. Additionally the manager refuses to take responsibility for his staff. Left a pillow and a really nice Uggs blanket in the room when we checked out early in the morning. Called before the room was serviced asked them to retrieve it. Was told they would call back. They never did. Called back. Told that the cleaning person left for the day but they would leave a note for the staff in the morning and would follow up the next day. No call. Called three times. No one picked up. Called the third day spoke to the manager. Was told it was not in lost and found and has not been turned in. How is that possible I asked? I don’t know he said. I pointed out that we called before the room had been cleaned. That can only mean one thing. They took the blanket. You don’t have to be Sherlock Holmes to figure this out. Manager again refused to take any responsibility. Then told me it was on me for leaving it and he wasn’t responsible. He then accused me of taking a cheap shot on Google reviews after I relayed my story and again blamed me. Don’t stay here but if you do watch your stuff really carefully.

Showed up at the hotel at 11pm… been traveling since 6am… walked into the room… bed wasn't made… dirty towels on the floor… the desk attendants excuse.
. Very rudely… "things happen… we don't have anymore rooms other than a double… what do you want me to do, go clean the room myself? ". No mam, these things DO NOT HAPPEN… Comfort Suites… NEVER AGAIN! We took the double room, even though that is not what we paid for. Then, when we asked for her name, she quit! She stated that she didn't have to take this… what?! I DO NOT RECOMMEND THIS PLACE.

I made a reservation for this location for 4/9-4/11. I arrived on 4/9 to learn that my reservation had been cancelled. I asked the front desk agent why it was cancelled and who cancelled it, her response was nonchalant that she didn’t know. I was upset and disappointed. I am also a Choice Privilege member. This was a getaway for my grandchildren before they head back to school next week. Thank God we only lived 45 minutes away from this location. The issue I have is why she couldn’t tell me why my reservation was cancelled! As long as I have been traveling this has never happened to me.

Great service from front desk to housekeeping. LOVED my stay. Rooms are nice and clean BEAUTIFUL inside and out.

We arrived after 11pm — we had to be buzzed in for security purposes. The front desk was a pleasant experience… but the rooms are HORRIBLE. We had 2 adjoining rooms.
As soon as we entered, you could see the age and tiredness of the room. Not a big deal, until we looked closer — There was an awful odor emanating from the shower drains. The toilets barely flushed. The floors were disgustingly filthy (not old, not stained) … ABSOLUTELY FILTHY. I scrubbed the bathroom floors myself with their washcloths — I wiped up dirt, slime, hair, BUGS — it took 4 washcloths and they were thoroughly black when finished. The walls had splatter spots and chunks of dried yuck in varies places (bathroom walls, doors, sides of furniture).
I took pictures — I wish I could post them. We did approach the front desk to express our issues (and present them with their towels — bugs included). The manager was not available for us to speak to… however, those that were available apologized. The end result — they did refund our money (which was definitely warranted).

So far so good. They gave my wife a goodie bags for her birthday. Really appreciate it.

Really Comfort Suites, this is ok to you in the year 2019? Do you have ANY idea how many African American guests stay in your facilities!? I am completely SHOCKED…

Poor experience with group sales.

The people were very nice. The room we stayed in was clean and spacious.

First impression when walking into this hotel was, “dang this lobby smells like armpits! ” They should really do something about that lol other than that, I really liked this hotel and the staff! We stood here for 6 nights, the staff started to feel like family. They were so hospitable! The woman who was cleaning our room while we were there — Sabra (I’m pretty sure I’m spelling that wrong, ugh! ) was super nice and so attentive and went out of her way to accommodate us. I really appreciated her. The front desk staff were also very friendly and helpful. The staff that worked during breakfast in the kitchen were also very friendly and the food was good! They had so many options. The pool was nice as well! One detail that we loved was in the lobby, the orange-infused water and fresh-baked chocolate chip cookies. They were delicious! The only complaint I have is the last two days we were there, there was construction on our floor and the noise was disturbing and they had a mess in the hallways. I highly recommend this place but they should really do something about the stench in the lobby.

While checking in the front desk staff were very friendly and helpful. We got to our room and went straight to the pool. Unfortunately we couldn’t t stay in too long because it was overly chlorinated and began to bother our skin. When we went back to the room to take a shower we realized there was mold on the side of our tub and the shower curtain wouldn’t stay closed because the rod was installed sideways. The A/C in the room wasn’t working properly either. We set it at 65~ and I don’t think it got below 70~ in the room all night. In the morning we went to get breakfast. We walked in the breakfast area at 9:28 and half the food was already taken down. My 10 year old daughter asked about the waffle mix at which point she was very rudely informed by the attendant that breakfast stopped at 930 and she was too late. We went to get a bagel instead and while it was toasting she tried to grab a cream cheese from the cooler. The attendant actually locked the cooler as my daughter was reaching for it! At this point we were done. We went back to the room packed up and left. While the front desk associates are great, the rest of the employees need serious customer service training and the hotel needs an update.

Staff was so friendly. We stayed for a week, room service made sure we had everything we needed and took care of our rooms to make sure they were clean. Front seat help was also friendly and had a smile on their faces. Since we were from small town in Missouri they were very reassuring and gave us places to see.

Tidy rooms with a great A/C (a godsend in the 95+ degree weather). Quick and polite service. The complimentary breakfast was great! Sausage links, scrambled eggs, cereal and yogurt options, waffles, and fruit. Granola, craisins, and sliced almonds for toppings. Juice, coffee, milk, and lemonade for drinks. Great stay!

I have honestly never given 5 stars for a hotel before. Four usually at the most. This was the best hotel stay I have had in a while. Customer service was amazing. We had difficulties with being able to plan our arrival and departure time because my fiancé is in the military. They allowed us to get into our room early, and have a later check out. Rooms were spotless, and breakfast was great. Thank you!

Our room was clean. Smelled nice. Comfy. The staff was very nice. The pool was closed most of the time because a party was held the day before and they did not respect the rules. It took most of the next day to clean up their mess. I stayed there because it had a nice pool but couldn't use it. Everything else was a 5.

Our father passed on Easter Sunday 2018. When we contacted the hotel later that day, Lee (Front Desk Manager) did not hesitate to assist with accommodating us, our out-of-state family and their varying requests, arrivals/departures. Kim (Sales Manager), Lee and the entire staff went above and beyond the call of duty to ensure our family's hotel needs were met during a very difficult time. Given the last minute circumstances, the rates were very fair and the service received was attentive, timely and professional. We highly recommend this property and will continue to stay there when need be.

Nice clean hotel. Good service. My son forgot a duffel bag in the room. We realized it when we were almost back home. Called the hotel and they couldn't find it. Finally after several calls they did locate it and returned it to us but items were missing from the bag. Most noteable was an army jacket that was covered in patches. It was a gift to my son from a family member. It was in the bag but the hotel said it wasn't.

The hotel is nice very neat and spacious. The staff was very nice and welcoming. The complementary breakfast was good. Rooms are amazing. Location is great. Everything you need is near the hotel. Loves the stay. Would recommend.

Room was not as clean as I would like. We found a user pacifier, bottle cap and other debris left from whom knows whom. The setup of our room was also a bit weird. It felt more like a long hallway with a window at one end and a door at the other than a bedroom. The only way I'd come back is if it was around $50/night definitely not worth the $100 we spent.

Perfect size rooms. Huge bathroom. Nice desk staff. Breakfast was decent. Parking was okay. Id stay here again when im in the area for work travel.

Decent stay. Staff was nice. Curtains would not cover the entire window. Since I stayed on the second floor facing the parking lot, there was a light shining directly in my window at night. Breakfast was decent. Overall a good experience.

The rooms are huge! The beds are soft and they provide both soft and stiff pillows. The showers are immediately hot when you turn them on (and I am on the 4th floor! ) The gym has free weights, a weight machine, and your standard cardio machines too. I really enjoy eating the hot breakfast provided free each morning. It is better than some Hilton's I have stayed at. It is located about five minutes from the airport but you don't hear a thing and shopping is just across the street.

Great Accommodation's, Friendly Staff, perfect place to wait out the cold snap before we resume our trip South.

I absolutely love this hotel in Newport News. I only choose to stay at this hotel when I'm in town due the eye catching amenities. My girlfriend and I love the colorful pool. The breakfast is great with different choices. And I love the fact I can make my own waffles. When you're in the Newport News area. You have to give this place a try!

Room was clean and well kept when we arrived, staff was nothing but friendly. Breakfast was a bit crowded due to the small area but it was a busy weekend. Overall great hotel, always stay here when we're in the area.

Awesome place to stay. Clean rooms and nice atmosphere. I slept great. The only down side was the attendant for the morning breakfast. She was not a morning person. She looked as if she hated life and her job. Didn't meet and greet anyone and when she did say anything it was with negativity. Regrettably, that will probably be the thing that I will remember about my stay here.

My family's stay here was very pleasant. We got the opportunity to use the small concessions area as well as the pool, both of which were very convenient. The pool was a bit cold but not so much so that one couldn't adjust. The staff were nice to speak to, as we're the other guests, and the hotel itself was very pretty both inside and out. Our room was clean and comfortable, and overall we had a very positive experience staying here. The only real negative was the crying baby close by who woke us up at one point, but that's not the fault of the hotel.

This hotel is centrally located perfectly next to restaurants and also a long list of strip malls across the street, the hotel is a gorgeous place to stay and bring family along, the indoor salt water pool felt amazing and I will be coming back in the near future with my family! Awesome front desk staff and the check in process was a breeze! Kudos to management!

Not the best for the price but they had breakfast every morning and decent rooms. As far as staying here for a week or more, the fitness room is the size you would have I a home, they only have one washer and dryer for the whole building and not enough parking for every one staying here.

There was chemical tanker truck parked under my window. I asked the front desk to ask the owner to move it. They said, "what is the point, if it blows up it will take out the whole hotel. " I was not think that. Is there a code of parking a plagued truck away from where people sleep?

Nice and clean. Window opens in room, something I don't see too often. Breakfast was decent.

There were lots of Amenities in the room, check in was quick and easy, it was exactly what I needed for a good rest!

DO NOT STAY HERE! While on work travel, I stayed at the Comfort Suites Newport News. I didn't realize the first night because I arrived late, but when I got back to my hotel room after work I noticed the door didn't seem to close right. Upon further inspection, I noticed that the door latch opening in the door jam was tampered with. As I looked closer I noticed the latch AND opening had been filed down. Filed. I went to the front desk and requested a new room. The hotel representative told me that I just had to pull harder on the door, that I have to pull it until I hear the door click. I told him I was strong enough to close a door — that wasn't the problem. He gave me a new room key. As I went back to switch rooms, I took a picture of the door jam. When I came back to the desk, I asked to see the manager. I was told there wasn't one on duty. I proceeded to show the desk clerk the picture on my phone. Without even looking at it, he responded "Oh yeah. We know it's broken. " I recommended to him that they not give a room to a single gal (or anyone for that matter) if the door doesn't close and lock. Anyone could enter my room without the key when I am not there (I use the safety latch when I am in be room). Saying I'm not pulling the door hard enough. Clearly lying to me when you say it's fine. Then admitting you know it's broken. HORRIBLE service. I won't be staying here again and I hope to see that it is taken off the DOD preferred hotel list.

Terrible customer service. I've tried to get a receipt for 3 days with no luck. Cynthia at the front desk became increasingly rude throughout the process. I will NEVER be staying here again.

Front desk attendant was very friendly. So friendly that it took 20 minutes to check in. I'm ok with that. It was a late check in and was tired. Soon as I opened the door to my room, the room smelled like a smelly wet dog. I rolled my bags out and asked for another room. The front desk attendant assigned me a better smelling room. The second room had a bit of chlorine smell to it which may just be the shower. The beds was comfortable but noisey. No matter where you sat on them, I could hear the springs squeak. One plus; The location of the hotel was in a great location.

My wife and I came into town to visit Busch Gardens. We decided to check out Comfort suites based on trip advisor. Upon entering the front desk staff was very pleasant and attentive. We checked in very quickly and given all of the surrounding information regarding food and amenities immediately. The rooms were very clean. We asked for a softer pillow and the maid staff was quick in getting one to us, with several options to choose from! Excellent location with a grocery store right across the street. There was no noise from the nearby airport and it was very quiet. Breakfast was great! We plan on returning when we come into the area again.

This was the first time that we've stayed at a Comfort Suites Hotel and it was a great experience. The hotel staff is very friendly and accommodating. The rooms are good size and pleasant and there was hot water for showers. The hotel provides a good breakfast and coffee if available throughout the day. They also have cookies in the evening. The price is excellent. We are used to staying at Marriott hotels, but I would feel comfortable staying and Comfort Suites because of the friendly staff, good rooms and good price point.

I have never been accomodated like this hotel did for me when I stayed there last week. I made an online reservation and put in the special requests box that I needed a room with good water pressure. They didn't have any standard rooms on the first floor when I checked in; so, instead, the lady puts me in the King Suite, the nicest room they have! Not only that, but this hotel also earns a five-star rating because of it's friendly staff, beautiful hotel and rooms, very clean, custom-set comfort beds, thick nice bath towels, etc. I come to this area a lot for work and I will NEVER stay anywhere BUT here.

I was somehwat apprehensive about this hotel since it's right next to the airport, but I didn't hear a single plane the whole stay. The pool is nice, the room was immaculate, and everyone was super nice. Highly recommended.
