The hotel is wonderful. Front desk people friendly. The booking process through hotels. Com was horrendous. Booked a pet room and received confirmation number. Next day while on the road was called by the general manager indicating she had no pet rooms available. The general manager was very rude and would not let me speak and ended call. Eventually the general manager called back and said they would make an exception I cooperated with her —dealing with the gm was a very odd experience. Horrendous customer relations and outright rudeness.

I came up with my two kids this week. Great hotel however I had some minor concerns when I was there that did not get addressed. Our bathroom door was really squeaky (LOUD) asked to get WD40, never happened. Lots of loud door bangs throughout the night. So these things combined the 3 of us didn't sleep the best. Also found a sports bra and used water bottle next to the bed. Microwave was dirty. But! We had fun in the pool, hot tub and the mini golf outside! Maybe we'd stay again?

This was our second stay here at Country Inn. We brought our puppy and got the dog friendly room both times. The room was clean and did not smell of other dogs. RUSS at the front desk is SO awesome and friendly! He was very knowledgeable and helped us with everything we needed. We had some issues with the A/C in our room and turn down service but he addressed them promptly and even gave us a discount on our stay. Highly recommend staying here!

Every time we come up to the north shore we stay here. The staff is very friendly I would recommend this place to anyone looking for a place to stay especially if you have pets.

This is the CLEANEST hotel I have ever stayed at! You can tell the owners/care takers take pride in the place; it’s all immaculately maintained. And, they have a real breakfast spread; pastries, hot waffles and fresh scrambled eggs with bacon, and then the usual yogurt, cereal, bagels, etc. We will definitely return next time we explore the north shore!

Very pleasantly surprised! We booked a last minute trip to the north shore, and found great accommodations here! Clean, comfortable and quiet room. Great location, we brought our bicycles and were able to take in the attractions of Two Harbors on wheels. The staff was friendly and the free breakfast was a definite notch above what we have had in other similar motels. Very family friendly. We would stay here again!

I just have to say how wonderfully welcoming they were of our pet at check in! They had a gift waiting for him. It's just heartwarming. The room is nice and clean. They have minature golf and a round is on them with your stay. Its quiet! I'll stay again for sure!

A friend booked this for us but I wish I would have. The rate for a room in what is basically a Super 8 was over $200 a night. Quite expensive for what you get. The place is clean and pool is nice but the rooms are nothing special. It is a two story place with no elevator. Not sure how they manage that with ADA. Breakfast is your basic low grade motel stuff. Again nothing special. If you bring pets make you you call them in advance. They only have so many 'dog friendly' rooms.

We had a good experience here. All of the staff we encountered were super friendly. Our room was nice and clean. The pool area was nice. The mini golf was a fun bonus! I didn’t give it a 5 star only because it wasn’t an over the top good experience but it was very nice.

The pool was awesome. It was like bath water which was so fun and the hot tub was great. The room was dark and just. Okay but it fit our family and the price was right. Breakfast was busy and they couldn't keep up with the French toast sticks and sausage/bacon. We ended up making waffles which were great. The manager was so nice. We stayed here last year as well and we would stay here again. I'd recommend they have the hot food full and ready when breakfast is served.

The staff is friendly. The hotel is clean. They have a really nice pool and hot tub. They have a mini golf course that our kids love. They also serve a very nice breakfast. I would stay at The Country Inn again.

The hotel and most of the staff are top notch and for that reason I will continue to stay here. BUT…
This time there was a disappointment. When checking out on Sunday the 15th of July 2018, I was scolded for not divulging that my friend and I were splitting the bill. When I said it at check out I was told in a not very friendly way that I needed to have said that when we checked in. I said, there must still be a way to do this and that it had never been an issue in the past. She replied that she could do but it would be more difficult and would take longer. It took her a couple minutes. What has happened to customer service? Way to make people feel like coming back. Sorry we bothered you. The rest of the staff is beyond wonderful so like I said, I will be back but perhaps the one who checked us out could learn a little tolerance for people who don’t know they are making life difficult for her.

Very clean and pleasant hotel. Close to my favorite places on the north shore. Great weekend getaway!

Great friendly staff and location, but 1 star off because rooms are a little dated and loud.

My wife and I came here for 5 days to celebrate our 10th anniversary. We could not have chosen a better place. The Country Inn of Two Harbors has wonderful service and comfortable accommodations. The mini golf course is a fun bonus. The surrounding attractions are quaint and beautiful. A great stay for the price. We hope to come here again someday. Very relaxing.

Checked in about 7, busy lobby. Sign out front shows they are a bit understaffed. Person behind the desk juggled it all like a pro. I did not choose this hotel, my company did, I typically would have stayed up the block. The room, looks pretty updated and is very clean and free of any odor. Hotel was quiet, and the bed was awesome, I've never had a bed that was as comfortable in a hotel. Morning, breakfast was standard fair, the hot entree was biscuits and Gravy and while not bad weren't exceptionally memorable (if they can ever be) but very filling also had some cottage cheese and milk. Check out was quick. I will absolutely stay here again, I will tell others too. Great experience.

Stayed at the Two Harbors Country Inn on Friday night. 110% recommend this to everyone. Clean warming environment, very clean updated rooms and the staff is more than friendly and helpful. I also appreciated the great hot breakfast they serve in the AM. THANK YOU management. Highly recommended.

Solid place to stay when visiting Two Harbors, Minnesota. Pro's: Extremely clean, friendly and helpful staff, close to other amenities. Cons : Tvs are too small, pillows are hardest I've slept on in any hotel ever, water is not that hot. I would stay here again and would recommend for others.

Our heater unit was buzzing and rattling something awful, it woke me up every time it kicked on throughout the night. Other than that things seemed mostly good. Bathroom was clean, breakfast was good and staff were helpful and friendly.

Nice clean comfortable room and beds. Friendly, helpful staff and plenty of good hot coffee in the lobby. The pool area looked well maintained but I wasn't able to enjoy it due to having surgery. The TV was a little goofy due to it being Mediacom service I'm sure. Enjoyed watching the deer right outside our window. I'd highly recommend a stay there!

This place is clean and the beds are comfortable. The breakfast was simple but far better than a continental breakfast. They had 2 hot items (1 egg/1 meat changed daily) along with a waffle machine each day. It was adequate for breakfast. If you feel like you need more, McD's is in the same parking lot as the hotel. It has a pool and hot tub, but we didn't have time to use them. I was disappointed that we had a room with 1 bed and it was only a queen. It would have been nice to have a king. The staff was very friendly, helping us with places to see and eat. We tried the Rustic cafe recommended and enjoyed it. They do not have an elevator so request 1st floor if you cannot do stairs. The hotel was close to old downtown Two Harbors, so it was a quick drive. There is a grocery store across the street and a home store with clothing and other items if you need that type of shopping (I expected it was a discount store, but very expensive). The room locks are updated to proximity instead of swipe (very unreliable), it would be nice to have an app to open the door instead of keeping a card handy. Not sure why, if you update to this type, it doesn't support phone NFC. The price of the room for what you got was fine, but didn't feel like I got a huge discount.

We stayed 2 night both evening quiet and relaxing. Huge shout out to the staff for making us feel comfortable.

I super solid way to get out of your tent on a rainy night… free mini golf for guests. Why is hotel orange juice always so sweet?

I have stayed at this hotel multiple times for vacations, and it is always a good experience. Friendly staff, clean rooms, and a harty complementary breakfast! As a bonus, the minigolf course is a rather fun perk!

Great little hotel. Staff are amazingly friendly and helpful. Beds are soft and rooms are warm in the winter. Will be stayung here again and hopefully taking advantage of the pool and mini golf course.

Nice enough place. Room was clean, hotel was quiet, there's a decent pool area, and hot breakfast. We were pleased. Breakfast area could use a little more room though.

I would've given it 5 stars but when I walked in to check in the receptionists (there was two dealing with other people) didn't even acknowledge my presence. The least they could do was let me know they knew I was there. Oh well. The room was clean and pool area was fun. Also they included a free game of mini golf which is cool. Breakfast was good too! The coffee is amazing too!

Very clean room and grounds. Pool/spa is open 2 hours later for adults only. If our boys were young again, they would have loved the free mini golf course on grounds. Breakfast had eggs, bacon, sausage patties, waffles, fruit, donuts, toast, yogurt, cereal, beverages. Not one complaint. We stayed on a Sunday night, so it probably was quieter than a typical weekend. Nice touches of granite in the lobby and bathrooms. Price was 1/2 of Canal Park, too. Perfect location for a trip up and down the north shore. Will stay again. Check in was quick and polite.

My husband and I absolutely loved our stay even though it was only for a night. Gorgeous room, very clean, with a comfortable bed. Free mini golf was fun, also very good hot tub and pool area. Staff were very nice and helpful to our questions. We will definitely be back! ♡ Thank you so much to all the staff that are obviously proud of what they are doing to make it a beautiful place to stay.

I am sitting in lobby, second night of our hotel stay. Lobby is small, but very nice. Shelby has worked both nights and has been very kind to my sons. The boys had an opportunity to golf again a second night and loved the miniature golf course. The highlight of their stay, then pool, then hot chocolate in the lobby. Hotel is clean and well cared for. We have always stayed in Duluth, Comfort Inn and Suites. We will save money from now on and stay here. Best value! Walls are thin and breakfast eggs are rubbery, but I am very happy my wife chose this hotel. Sons and daughter loved this two-night stay. My wife and I were quite impressed. — Justin.

The hotel, staff and breakfast were all nice. Clean hotel lobby and rooms.
Parking on the other hand for snowmobile trailers is inadequate. We arrived with two trucks and two trailers to find no parking. When we did find a place that we asked for permission to use, we got harassed three times for being there. Even the morning we were leaving our plate numbers were being written down and a guy asked why we were parked here!?!? Not easy to relax when you have to worry about getting a ticket or getting towed!

We arrived on a rainy evening and checked in. The hostess was friendly and welcoming. My husband checked us in and we headed to our room. Come to find out we were on the second floor and there is no elevator available. We got into the room and looked around. Between the bed and night stand, there were m&ms all over the floor. Gross! I noticed them within seconds, how did a house keeper miss them? This left us wondering what things weren't actually cleaned. After sleeping, we went down to breakfast. The room was small and people were crowded around the small breakfast. There were pastries — VERY dry —, 2 waffle irons, biscuits and gravy (they were not my taste), 2 types of cereal, some fruit, yogurt and drinks. Everyone was so focused on getting a waffle iron in the small space, people would crowd in front of others and basically push them out of the way. We played the free mini golf that came with the room and then checked out. There was no one at the desk and didn't notice a call button (it was a phone base and you pushed the find button for the cordless phone to find the hostess). For over $200 per night, I would find another room! Such a disappointment. Oh and we told the hostess about the m&ms on the floor in the room, other than laughing and saying "that's gross", that is all that was done.

Very nice desk service, mini golf course was fun to play. Only down side to this hotel was that there wasnt any elevators. Would stay again.

This is a very nice hotel. Located on the south western tip of Lake Superior. The rooms were nice — nothing extra special, but nice. Easy and close parking and there is even some recreational boat traffic to watch. We ate at the Captains something or other bar — I would not recommend that. Convenient, but not very good. It would be fine for drinks… not food. Outside seating overlooking the docks in back.

The rooms were clean and the staff was so nice. We enjoyed the pool, hot tub, and mini golf! The hotel was about 20 minutes from Gooseberry Falls, Duluth, Split Rock Lighthouse, etc which was convenient.

The rooms are standard with a mini fridge and microwave, but what stands out about this hotel is the great hot continental breakfast and the mini golf. The mini golf is a full 18 holes, and not crowded so it was the best mini golf I've done in ages. The breakfast has eggs, ham, waffles you make yourself, cereal, fruit, yogurt, cottage cheese, bagels, muffins, donuts, Oatmeal, milk, juice, and coffee.

Fun mini golf course, free to guests. Good breakfast, nice pool/hot tub/suana. Highly recommended.

Not a bad place. Friendly staff. The bed was okay, at best and the breakfast seating area was pretty small. Otherwise, all around decent place.

The front desk employees were very friendly. Hotel was clean. Beds were comfy. Stayed in a Jacuzzi suite. Nice. I believe the hotel was or will be going through some remodeling. Rooms and bathrooms could be updated but overall this stay was very pleasant and relaxing. I would certainly not hesitate to stay here again.! Great Find!

My girlfriend and I stayed here over night while we were up north. From start to to finish this hotel was great. Staff was super friendly. Checked in and out no problems. We went to the hot tub which was very clean. Pool was in great order, not the biggest, but we didn't come to swim and the pool was a surprise to begin with. This isn't Vegas. Our room was clean when we walked in as if it was a brand new room. We drove to the liquor store to get a bottle of wine and we realized we forgot a wine key. Went down to the front desk thinking maybe they might have one, and the lady at the front desk said she had one in her car and went and got it for me. I don't understand how this place got anything below a 5. Friendly staff, clean rooms, and the breakfast was great too. Only thing I'd change is having an even later checkout haha. We will be returning in the future! Thank you!

The hotel was nice at first. Until the employees were yelling at our hockey team. They were rude and complained that we trashed the rooms but our rooms were spotless. I was at the front desk waiting for over 10 minutes and the employees RIGHT IN FRONT OF ME were ignoring me. I asked can I have some creamer for coffee. They said in a snotty tone no don't you know were it is and by the way we are closed. I thought they were being sarcastic so I said are you closed? They said no but I wish we were. At that point I was done.

If you enjoy hearing your neighbors cellphone vibrate, or your other neighbor cough than this is the place for you. There also seems to be a musical doors act around 6:30 in the morning. When the most basic function of a quiet sleep can't even be provided as their main service, don't even bother, spend the extra 20 minutes and drive to Duluth for a better and more wide range of choices.

Would highly recommend to anyone. Staff was awesome and the room was great. Really comfortable beds and loved the whirlpool bath. I will definitely stay here again.

Wanted to split the bill between couples, the staff did not have the ability to do so but were not afraid to click on the computer. Ended up charging one check card for everything, and held 330.00 for a 200.00 room. They are unable to remedy this … never again.

Decent hotel. Lady at checkout had no idea what she was doing. The room was suppose to be split between 2 cards, but then just charged our account the total, plus each card 110$. Then 2 days later I look to see if the money went back into our account and saw that the charged us the whole total TWICE. Called to talk to someone, and she had no idea what she is doing. Currently waiting for a manager to call. Will not go back.

Rooms were fine but at this price range I expected way better! First off THE BREAKFAST was bad! 2 days in a row the exact same thing! hard biscuts with gravy, waffles and the basics all hotels have like cereal and stuff. CARBs GALORE! No Eggs or meat NO PROTEINS made it impossible to give my kids a balenced breakfast! THE POOL. Is TINY, like 4s seriously a crowd in it! THE Mini golf. Nothing Wow, 1 game is included and its pretty fun but after one game it costs $ and I definitely wouldn't pay to play!

Nice pool, mini-golf course. We did not get the impression the hotel was kid-friendly. More for couples without kids and older people. I am not sure we would stay there again, probably stay in Duluth and drive back and forth to the parks.

I had my parents come up from the cities and spend the weekend at the country inn. Great place to stay. Nice sized room. Very comfortable bed. Great rates. I manage a local business and will be recommending everyone to stay here. Also for local folks you can swim for 5 dollars a head. Pool was very warm and pleasant to spend time in. Thanks.

DO NOT STAY HERE! Stayed here Tues. June 26, 2012. Took a shower Weds. A. M. And noticed black mold all over the top of the shower surround. I took pictures of it. Told management on duty. Room was over $115.00. I nicely asked for a discount and the two ladies working put their heads down and said "no" and that was it. No call to the owners or any apology to us. They said they had been having roof problems. After returning home I contacted them 3 times on different days to ask for a discount. When I did not get any communication at all, I told them I would have my CC company dispute the whole charge if they did not reply. Maybe they don't check their messages for two weeks? Wonder how many other rooms have black mold? Next step pictures on Facebook and a call to the county/city inspectors.

Stayed here while ago now, but the service was good and helpful for knowledge of the area. Gooseberry falls was amazing and is just a few miles up the road.

I just spent 2 nights with my 2yr old boy and it was a very nice relaxing stay, the pool area is perfect and the staff couldnt have been more helpful. Reading the past reviews I dont understand what the dude was saying about the bbq not having gas and the patio window being broke. There arent any bbqs or patios. Dude needs a pill. There is an outside mini golf (18 holes) very fun! Goosberry Falls was breathtaking, even with a 2 year old, although I suggest a harness for any toddlers, there are a few scary drop offs. Anyway for anyone wanting a cheap, friendly, quiet, clean and comfy place to stay. This is it. ps. (AUG 4TH REVIEW) the reason you cant get in the door ~ only out on the second floor is for security reasons, SERIOUSLY PEOPLE, GET A CLUE.

The hotel was nicely tucked away, not a bad thing. The beds were so uncomfortable! We were were at the other end of the hotel, second floor and there was a door to get out, but in order to go back in the hotel you had to go to the other end. It was a little annoying after a while for that. I would never stay here again! I don't recommend it! While my boyfriend and I stayed here, my mom and aunt stayed at the Americ Inn right across the graveyard, haha (not kidding! ), and it was way more comfortable.
