Stayed there Friday July 30th & in the morning while getting my kids and I ready for the day the ceiling panel fell in the bathroom along with yellowish water and poop from the toilet flooding upstairs. When I notified the front desk and asked for the manager they did not bring any attention to the incident for over an hour. Not once did they ask if my family and I were okay. The manager was very unhelpful she barely even looked at me. I had to come back to the front desk an hour later and bring it to there attention. They offered me to shower in a different room 3 floors up. I was so disgusted by the smell of the stuff that came from the toilet upstairs all I wanted to do is leave. I came back in after packing up my kids to ask for the manager and she wouldn’t speak to me. I left very angry and disgusted. I also had to leave my items I had in the shower behind due to them being contaminated with what I imagine to be poop and pee. I would definitely not recommend between the guest service and the ceiling panels falling. They also refused to refund my stay.

Wendy the front desk attendant was awesome. Kind, courteous and so helpful. The room was spacious and modern looking. Very comfortable and cozy. My son had a great time swimming in the pool and it was an all around great experience.

Just loved staying here. Great young ladies at front desk and great setup.

Good prices nice atmosphere close to downtown but me and my wife didnt feel good after eatting there brekfast and bathrooms are small.

Very clean great atmosphere and easy to find.

The price is okay. But there is no hot tub, as they've built a deck over it. The pool is cold even though staff told us it was "so warm". Family members had to switch rooms because there was so much mold in the cooling/heating unit that allergies flared instantly and the mold was visible. The restaurant was awful. Incredibly expensive, odd food and a waiter who made us feel as though we weren't good enough to be there. That being said, the staff were great and super helpful. Beds were very comfortable and toiletries smelled great. The phrase "You can put lipstick on a pig, but it's still a pig" comes to mind. It's a really old building that still needs some work.

The first room we were given smelled heavily of cigar smoke. We requested to change rooms, but the new room also smelled of smoke. After requesting for another room with the hopes of it smelling better, the third room smelled less strongly of smoke. We spoke to a few other family members staying there during the same time as us and it turned out we were not the only one with that problem. Will not be going back to this hotel.

It was an alright place to lay our heads. The room wasn't what we were expecting, as it wasn't what we reserved, but, still dealing with Expedia to figure out where that problem was. It's nice that its kind of out of the way the staff were alright. This was one of the best complimentary hotel breakfasts that I've had.

The pool does not have a hot tub, if that's what you want. While I stayed there the breakfast didn't have much of an assortment (but it's breakfast). The rooms are nice and clean, to close the window shades you have to pull a chain on the side. It's nicely decorated, and has a nice vibe to it. The staff is really nice and the beds are comfy. Overall I was satisfied with most of my stay.

The Vegas strip steak was overdone dry and had no flavor. 1/2 inch thick. Old world pizza delivers and it is awesome. The head chef here tries and comped me dinner. Overall a good stay.

Decent Area beds are pretty comfortable. Staff friendly. Would stay at this location again. Love the fact a robe and slippers came with the room. Love the vintage rustic vibrations.

We stayed at the Envision in June 2018. We were attending a wedding and appreciated the hospitality there. The beds were comfortable, bathrooms were clean and the shower pressure was good! I would stay there again if I'm in the area.

Absolutely horrible. I've tried to have two events at this hotel and both times the person that I was talking to was very unprofessional. The first event that I had here was bad, I had talked to the person well in advance that I needed the kitchen opened early in the morning for my vendors. The kitchen doesn't open until noon and then I asked the kitchen staff why they told me they weren't told until 2 days before the event. Event Which would have been today got canceled two days prior without any notification or anything else. Want to charge me even more to have things that I already told her was going to happen. No communication with me for over a month about anything! Never again!

I thought everything was Wonderful After spending an entire day at the airport and then attending a outdoor festival. The hotel that we originally booked sold out even though we booked it months ago. This place for the price is absolutely fantastic. The beds, bathroom, breakfast, and pool are great. I am not sure why someone reviewed that its dated THATS THE WHOLE POINT! Their rooms are decorated beautifully with a very old fashioned uniqueness its a hipsters dream. I would definitely stay here again. Thank you Alex for finding a place for us.

While the food was good enough, it would have been better if it had been served in a timely fashion. My party was one of the first to arrive to our function, we were among the last to be served and out wait was an hour and a half. I was charged for food I didn't order, and the bartender was incredibly rude throughout the entire experience. I work in customer service, and I understand being overwhelmed but I also know that kindness and explanation of what is happening go a long way with the people you're serving. Overall this is one of the worst experiences I have ever had eating out in my life.

Rich and hearty breakfast. Very good customer service. Very comfortable bed. For a good night's sleep.

Had a great stay. The hotel has a lot of character! Doesn't look like much, but everything inside looks great. I would recommend this hotel.

This hotel has potential to hit the mark, but they are not quite there. The decor is very vintage and well done but focus on updating the rooms before worrying about making sure each room has a robe. The bathroom left A LOT to be desired, the dirty drop ceilings and the dirt/debris in the back of the bathroom door left a bad taste in my mouth. We stayed for 3 nights and had to call for more towels after the second day when our room didn't have any service at all, at the very least fresh towels and trash being emptied would be nice. The beds were decent, and the hotel overall was quiet which was nice. We didn't use the pool as it was quite chilly in the room, their breakfast was not worth the walk down the hall. Not sure if we would stay there again if we had other choices.

Beautiful hotel! Great hot breakfast. Grandkids enjoyed the heated pool. Friendly staff. One complaint. Understaffed! We come to the city every year for the rodeo. We are differently be booking here again. But for two nights from now on! Thank you for a relaxing place to stay.

We were treated like family. The rooms were nice the service was great. The food was unreal chef beryl did an excellent jobs at make the best meals. Our bartender Deb was friendly quick and so much fun. The people at the front desk were awesome. It was a great experience. Thanks to all of you!

You get what you pay for. Understaffed. Some food that was placed in hallway for pickup had been left for our whole stay. Room not fully cleaned and hairs (not ours) found in bed. Pool looked decent. Breakfast sufficient. Otherwise pleasant experience.

Everything here was clean and tidy. Room was sizeable and comfy. Location is great. Would definitely come back.

We have had a bad stay. There was garbage in our first room (empty beer bottle), a missing alarm clock, and a broken toilet. When we called the front desk we couldn't, as the phone was also broken. They gave us a new room, which had a half eaten bag of beef jerky under the bench in it. So far nothing is broken with 4 more scheduled nights in our stay… If we make it that long!

Nice location with easy access to the Mall of America; however the bathroom toilets were gross in the rooms. But the bathrooms on the first floor lobby were nice & clean.

This hotel has great potential and has invested a lot of time and money in the decor. However, they do not maintain the cleanliness of the hotel and because of this I will never return here or recommend them. We found a dirty towel under the changing bench, a lighter on the floor in the bathroom. The floors needed vacuuming. The heater/AC until was so full of dust that I feared it would catch fire. The bed springs squeeked as soon as you sat on the bed. The hall floors were filthy, vacuum cleaners were left outside the elevators and the maintenance room was very dirty (which is understandable) but it was lef open for all to see. I have pictures if needed.

Pretty basic, nothing special. Rooms were clean, but you can tell this hotel was a hurried remodel. Advertised pool and hot tub, but it's clear the hot tub is broken and they don't intend to fix it (covered it with wood and set up a table on it). Okay place if the price is cheap, but I won't stay again.

Love the vintage decor within the rooms which are spacious and comfy as well. Also like how quiet it is. One suggestion is that the breakfast could be better by offering more choices.

Great rooms. Very modern, classy and clean. Done well but not "overdone" in any way. The staff was incredible. Sandra at the front desk went above and beyond for my study group on more than one occasion. She was sweet and personable. Alex was also incredible to us. The General Manager was an awesome guy. He went above the norm to accommodate us. We were here on business with Union Pacific and they did everything they could to make us feel welcomed and important to them. They even let us take up the lobby for a study group every night for 3 weeks. Great hotel. Terrific staff. I'd highly recommend them.

We came in town for a concert and only stayed one night. The decore is really cool and I love the front desk! The rooms are clean and very comfortable. I know this is going to sound odd, but I loved the wallpaper and artwork in our room. Staff was very friendly and we had a good time at the hotel bar. We met some cool new friends and Greg the bartender was funny and friendly. It is definitely a place I would stay again. I wish it was in a location closer to downtown, but Uber is a great way to get around. I will definitely recommend this hotel to others and looking forward to our next visit!

Wonderfully updated rooms and great amenities. Lots of interesting small touches and interesting details. I had an issue with TV channel availability that was not able to be resolved during my stay.

We enjoyed our weeks stay. The decor is a vintage modern and it was super cool. My only thing I didn't like is the people on the front desk were always on their phones even when talking to them at least the guy was. And don't leave anything behind because they will tell you they didn't find anything in your room and when you threaten a manager they will "find it" but over all great stay.

We were on an 11 day trip and this hotel was the best stay of the entire journey. We were blown away by the customer service, the character and uniqueness of the room and the value for our money. We are so board of the regular tried-and-true hotels and this style of hotel was just what were were looking for. We wished we could have stayed more than one night.

Nice and clean place. Easy to find. Right off 494. Vintage look with modern amenities. I can't say enough about the staff. Very friendly and accommodating. Love the Chef Vincent.

I was only here to visit some friends staying there. I was in a room, the lobby and the pool. Very clean hotel, the pool was clean and a good temperature. No hot tub. The front desk seemed to be very friendly. If I needed a place to stay in south st paul I would consider this hotel.

Very much enjoyed our stay! The decor of the hotel is my favorite of all hotels I've been too. Well pieced together and everything was clean as well. We also needed assistance, and the front desk staff was very accommodating making our trip so much easier on us. Not sure what we would have done if they weren't so helpful.

Many reasons this is a perfect wedding reception facility starting with acoustics (perfect sound), walls and ceilings that reflect lights (for uplights and starry sky projections), house lighting controls that are easy to operate (not pre-programmed), plenty of parking, power and friendly staff! Went there for my father's work function. We rented the ballroom and had food catered. The turkey was pretty good tasting, the bathrooms were good. The ballroom was big and simple. The bar was ok. Overall we had a decent time.

We did a couples weekend to the Mall of America. My best friend found two rooms on Expedia for the Envision Hotel St. Paul South. $56.00/night. FANTASTIC! Lobby was very inviting. Check-in clerk was great and informative. Room was very comfortable with King size bed. All upgraded with carpeting and decor. Went down to the newly renovated bar and restaurant…

We really enjoyed our stay here! We got the room at an amazing rate so we couldn't pass it up. The staff was very friendly and welcoming. Our room was very clean and comfortable — we really enjoyed the robes and comfy bed! Our only complaint is that our room was very warm. It felt good at first because it was so cold outside, but it was a little uncomfortable for sleeping. Our temp said 65 so I turned it down to 60 but it didn't seem to help. I don't know if maybe the room below us had their heat cranked? The water is also backwards but it's labeled so no big deal, just hard to get used to. We also ate at the restaurant that was attached which we didn't even know about. Against the Grain — we shared the nachos and they were very good! It sure beat driving out in the nasty weather. The breakfast wasn't that good but it was free so I can't really complain. All in all, it was a cool hotel and we'd definitely stay again.

This place has potential. Bathrooms could be updated and there are areas in general that could be improved. Our room was cute and clean, we had a great night sleep in the comfy beds. Our room was very quiet which is truly one of the best things you can find in a hotel. Staff were perfectly friendly and helpful at check in. I'd stay here again.

Stayed here over the weekend as a little staycation for my daughters birthday! The staff is extremely nice and hands on! The hotel has been renovated, however… it seems like things were just slapped on top of the old run down hotel. Toilet was loose, the edging around the floor was cracked. The biggest disappointment was the pool area. They don't have a working hot tub, and the whole area is FREEZING cold. The pool was bath tub warm, but because the room is so cold it isn't a comfortable environment to swim in. I don't know if we will be back, but the staff alone may bring us back!

Over priced and manager lied about giving us a discount for our week long stay (6 rooms). Escalated the issue but they would not budge. Will not do business with this particular hotel again. New name enVision, renovated into a "modern/rustic" theme. Pool and hot tub. Restaurant attached. 10 min drive to other restaurants and shopping.

Visited for a wedding during the Ryder cup weekend. The hotel had just completed renovation, and was not totally operational — — the restaurant was operating as a pop-up in one of the conference rooms (but I can complement them on serving good food nonetheless). Unfortunately, I was placed in a room that stank of stale cigarette smoke, so despite the new furnishings, had less than a pleasant experience. Due to the Ryder cup, moving rooms was not possible, and prices were extremely high relative to the level of service experienced. They're definitely trying, but, it was not a quality of a hotel stay that I wish to have again.

Remodeling the hotel to make it look nicer, initially we were excited, but that quickly changed. The pillow cases and sheets were covered in dirt and what appeared to be done kind of oil (with un-usual positioning that made us belive it was aparticular activity) from a previous guest. The front desk offered us new sheets, but no other compensation and did not even apologize for the experience… would not return…

Currently under renovation. Room reeks of new paint. No drain stopper in bath tub. Ceiling tiles missing in bathroom. Spackling spots on what appears to be freshly painted walls. TV stand was cracked and broken. Bed frame came apart while sitting on it. No mini fridge/bar in room. Hotel bar/restaurant is closed. Not the best hotel I've stayed in. Having a half working 4 slice toaster for the entire hotel.

You get out of your car and it smells like sewage. Go on and the place is under construction. The elevator is not working. We have to take bags to the 4th via stairs. Then get in room and it is not the room I ordered. Call the front desk and she said they no longer have whirlpool rooms. She said she could only discount me $25 hell no. I asked for a refund. Gross place.

Staff is useless and liars. I have gotten better service at every low end hotel that I have been too than this dump. Currently under construction and looks like a literal dump. There are holes in the wall every ten feet or so in every hallway. Please stay away from this place at all costs!

RUN! This has to be the worst hotel I have stayed in (for 15 minutes). To start when you pull up the sign looks like it needs to be replaced and has paint pealing off it, the paint is peeling off the entrance, and you definitely want to park in the most-light area. When we went in the fountain was ripped out and had what looked like caution tape over it. The check in process took forever. Why? Then we were given our key on the 4th floor and told the elevator didn't work (note that other reviews on other sites state this was an issue years ago). On the way to the elevator we could see that the side door was not secured. On the way up to the 4th floor we passed by the 3rd floor, which was under construction for renovation and accessible. That is a serious security issue. What's to keep someone from coming off the street and hanging out there? Nice time carrying all out luggage up 4 flight of stairs. What if I couldn't climb the stairs and rented a room? Then we got to the 4th floor to be met by a strong smell of smoke, stains on the carpet, and missing tiles from the ceiling. Really? To top it off, the key didn't work. I has to trek up and down the stairs three times as the key didn't work each time the desk tried to give me a new scan. It looks like a battery operated key, so they could have probably easily fixed it. Then after all that they let us know that the card readers on the 4th floor have issues. Then why not fix them?!? Do you want to rent a room out?

If I could give this place even less stars, I would. We had to stay here for a club volleyball tournament and I have never had to worry about hotels they have put us up in. The rooms were not clean upon walking in, they had very stale air, the bathrooms smelled like smoke, there was mold in the shower, and the ceiling tiles were ready to fall. They did not have ample towels in the bathrooms, and didn't have many extra available when requested. The walls were filthy, and the sheets were sub-par, the drapery also had holes. One floor was 'under construction' and was being re-done, that was the excuse. The staff was calm, but didn't see to have any answer or couldn't help in any way.

I met with the event coordinator, Kelly, and she was so easy to work with. Very happy and excited for my reception!

While the south side stinks of sadness, the inside of the hotel actually blocked it out! And the front desk area was nice and clean.

No microwave, no mini fridge, hot tub was cold however pool was warm. Comforter on the beds were stained. Staff was friendly. Went down for breakfast their was no seating, as it was all taken up, no plates to put the food on because I was going to eat in my room. I had to end up going els where. Location is good easy to find, also easy access right off the highway.

Room was OK, smelled like smoke and had a dirty comforter. The bathroom ceiling tiles had mold on them. Also, the front desk would not supply me with a cot because I was only in a double room. The Pool and Hottub were ok the first night, but the hottub was ice cold the second night. The worst part, was the bar and continental breakfast, they must have had water damage, and instead of fixing it they just took the ceiling tiles out and put buckets to catch the water, but to top it off, they place the food and drinks directly underneath it. Can honestly stay I will never stay here again.

Worst hotel I ever been to in my Life, one of the Ladies at the front desk is very Racist I think her name is Judy she where glasses, the Pool was out of order, she showed know type of Customer Service To accommodate us I don't recommend anyone to take there family there not a children and families friendly establishment.

Do not stay here! the head housemaid is a thief and the managers refuse to fire her only because she has been with the hotel for a long time. Stole 30 dollars that was sitting out. When checking out another guest talked to us about the hotel charging two of his credit cards for the 5 nights he was staying for a total of ten nights charged. Breakfast is also shitty and the bar & grill is only open when the bartender feels like showing up. Management should not omit crimes only because a worker has been there awhile, how many people have been robbed and at a loss!

Worst hotel EVER. Couldn't check in on time. Pool was freezing and didn't have towels available. Finally got towels and then they asked US to return them back to front desk to be washed right away. We also asked for 2 queen size beds but only got 2 FULL size beds. Top it off our TV remote didn't work and we couldn't even change the channel at all. They had us try to program it ourselves. Then told us there was nothing they could do for us. If I could give it O stars I would. Not even worth the cheap rooms…
