Prime location. Very clean.

Of course I'm going to choose the hotel that has an awesome Irish Pub on the bottom floor! I haven't been to the Liffey in forever and I'm looking forward to going there later tonight!

This is the best hotel ever! Located in the heart of downtown St. Paul! Great staff, awesome service, and fantastic rooms! You have everything you need, inside this hotel! A pool, jacuzzi, fitness center, and restaurant on site, and parking ramp! If you want an awesome time, with an awesome rate! Check this Holiday Inn out! Right across the street from The Center!

Great location for any concert you'll see at the Xcel energy center. Clean, and the restaurant was great too! The fish and chips were AMAZING!

Nice place to stay! Staff was friendly and rooms and facilities were clean. Nice pool area for the kids to play.

I llike that hotel, smack in downtown St. Paul, everything in the city is within walking distance. Spacious rooms, generally quiet, except on some game weekends, decent in-house restaurant, ok gym and nice pool/whirlpool area, except when there are too many kids in the pool on weekends. Bus to Mall of America right in front of hotel.

We lost power all morning and the hotel didn’t do anything for the customers. Just said “there’s nothing we can do”

The good: clean, quiet and comfortable. Beautiful view of the capitol from our room. Across the street from the Xcel event center, easy walk to the children's museum (science museum too, I think). Lots of restaurants within walking distance. The parts I didn't like as well: the hotel and parking ramp aren't super stroller friendly, there are several places with 2-3 steps, not impossible and there are always work arounds, of course, but it wasn't super convenient for us. I'm pretty sure this is the smallest hotel room I've ever stayed in. Quiet and comfortable, and we were able to shoehorn all our stuff (including the stroller) in, but it's a pretty small room. The pool area is clean (and has clean restrooms in the pool area, which is great! ) but the pool is pretty small and the water was pretty chilly. The hot tub is nice, though.

Hotel was ok. Clean and cozy. The staff no to friendly. On my last day they closed the kitchen without previous notification. Not good.

Nice clean and quiet. The employees were all friendly and helpful. We had a bad, to no, connection with the tv. Couldn’t get the lamp at the desk to work, and the alarm clock wasn’t even set and working. Small things but annoying when your paying over $200. For a one night stay. It is convenient to the Xcell.

Friendly staff in a great location! The pool area is very small, but clean. It has a hot tub and small swimming pool. The Liffey is a great little Irish Pub on the ground floor. This hotel would be a great home base for exploring the food and entertainment around the Exel Energy Center, Science Museum, etc. I wanted to stay longer just to sample more restaurants in the area!

Nice hotel and staff. Rooms are a little smaller; however, they are more than adequate for a family of four with younger children. It is very close to everything and an easy walk to the Riverview Centre. Would stay here again.

This hotel is in the perfect location for downtown St. Paul events. The staff was super helpful. I worked with one staff member extensively because I was chaperoning a group of students and she went out of her way to help me with things that probably weren't actually her job.

Overall a decent experience. Pretty much what you would expect from a Holiday Inn. The rooms are on the smaller side. However, they are clean and well kept. The halls got pretty noisy in the morning, along with having noisy street traffic. I would stay again if in the area.

Its right across the street from the Excel Energy Center. Perfect for games. The rooms are great. Everything was spotless. It was great to leave the game and walk to the hotel.

I had to come to St. Paul because my daughter needed to see a pediatric ophthalmologist since they didn’t have one where we lived in North Dakota… we stayed in this hotel. The most amazing service I have ever had! They picked my daughter and I up from the train station… checked us in early… showed us which bus that would take us to mall of America where we spent the first day… the day of my daughters appointment they took us there and picked us up… because our train wasn’t departing till 10:20 at night even after check out they shuttles us to the museum and to the capital building at my request. I still had about 6 hours till the train so they allowed my daughter to use the pool even after check out! And a shuttle back to the train station. Greatest service… wonderful hospitality and I would definitely recommend this hotel to anyone!

Rooms are clean and well maintained. Lived up to expectations. Have not interacted much with service aspects, but staff were friendly on check in.

Nice hotel, conveniently located by downtown. Within walking distance of several restaurants, etc. The hotel has an attached restaurant that opens early, but otherwise doesn't provide breakfast. The folded-towel animal on the bed was a cute touch.

Noisy, small rooms, no counter space in the restroom, charged us 5$ more for parking then the event parking, over priced restaurant.

Wonderful staff provided excellent service. The hotel is gorgeous with spectacular views. Took the farm tour to get a feel for their carbon neutral way of life. They grow their own coffee, all milk products, squeezed sugar cane and enjoyed the freshness of the juices. We opted for the tour on horseback. Best vacation ever!

Stayed here twice on business. Near where our office was located. Does it's job plus the pub in the lobby has good beer and breakfast.

Room was clean and service was very friendly and accommodating. Location is prime for downtown St. Paul, surrounded by excellent restaurants and tons of sites and activities. Our only issue was the extremely noisy heating unit which kicked on and off all night and kept us up when we were trying to sleep.

Great place to stay! We stayed for the rodeo and Dylan Scott. Room was great, Keurig in the room, parking was super easy. Bed was so amazing, don't remember when I had a better nights sleep! Will definitely be back.

I stayed for two nights while my husband was in United Hospital. The hotel accommodations were nice but there was a lot of traffic noise from my 2nd floor room on the 7th Street side, especially during rush hours. This wouldn't be typical sleeping time for many people and may not bother. Being I was trying to sneak in a couple cat naps in between trips to the hospital, it as a little more bothersome. The staff was very accommodating when I was unsure of my husband's discharge time/day, and allowed me extra time to decide to stay another night or checkout so I could leave my belongings in the room until I had gone to the hospital that morning. They were also great about providing free shuttles to/from the hospital, up to 11pm. If you are staying for someone in the hospital, you are better off parking in the hospital ramp if they will give you a discounted parking ticket which caps the rate at $4. The Holiday Inn charges $15/night to park.

Small lobby, and tightly packed in with other buildings, but the room was amazing… new decor and TV and was great to stay here.

I spent an entirety of 1 and a half hours in the room/hotel so my opinion is based upon feel. The room was for a place to sleep if I didn't stay somewhere else while down there for a wedding. The room seemed fine and the price was fine. The reason I give 2 stars is because the second I walked in the place felt disgusting (lobby and such) I'd suggest some tlc.

Another downtown hotel that over charges based on its location and the event in town. I've stayed all over the Midwest and this one takes the cake as being absurdly overpriced. Pros: Directly across the street from Xcel Energy Center … Cons: No free breakfast.

The elevator smelled like someone just cleaned up a murder scene with bleach. We stayed at JW Marriott at the Mall of America last year and paid less than this place. I guess it's all about location location location. I guess if you're standards are average and you're okay with paying for overpriced concert tickets through Stubhub to attend concerts across the street then this place would be a good fit.

The location and interior are great. Based on the pictures of the exterior I wasn't sure what to expect. While Holiday Inns are typically above average, they can still be hit and miss. The part I really liked were the rooms. Had to be updated recently and were really well done.

I love every Holiday Inn I've ever stayed at. We were here for the Tom Petty concert. They handled the crowd with ease. Clean rooms and the bar downstairs is excellent. Friendly barkeeps.

We stayed at the Holiday Inn downtown and I have to say the staff was so helpful! I called in advance of my stay with some questions on the area and the person on the phone was very helpful! Upon my arrival the front desk personnel were very kind and helpful in giving us directions on where to park and directions to where we were going. I was mostly impressed when we got back to our hotel after 10pm and ordered pizza. When it arrived the front desk called me and said my pizza was here and they wanted to give me a heads up that it was coming up to my room. I've never had that courteous of service and I really felt they took the extra step by calling us. I felt cared for and also that they were looking out for us and helping us stay safe. The rooms were clean and the parking was very easy to get to. I liked being able to have ease of access in parking downtown as some hotels are a hassle to check into. This hotel has a small parking lot you can pull in off the street to check into the hotel, much less stress than other downtown hotels! I like being able to walk to my car and not having to rely on valet to get my car every time we need something. Valet is nice but it's so nice to be able to stay downtown and be close to you car!

The location is great for the Excel Energy center! The front desk staff she was not very friendly. Room was a little small but it did have a microwave and fridge. Beds were great so comfortable. Bathroom could use a little repairs as it looked old. Parking was a little hard to unload your vehicle and u have to pay to park your vehicle.

Staff was courteous and helpful. Room was very nice. The restaurant/bar had a nice menu. Location was very convenient to other activities. Would definitely stay here again.

King size room, good size. Bathroom has limited counter space. It was fine for me, but the girlfriend would have appreciated the additional space and a side mirror. House keeping was great and even created a dog out of the towel!

Service was good. Shuttle is very accommodating and took us to dinner within their respective allowed area. Rooms are clean and well stocked. Front desk is great even with wake up calls. The Liffey restaurant grew on me as the week progressed. The management is attentive and the servers go out of their way to make guests feel welcomed. Simple change in our breakfast was not a problem. Please be respectful of not changing too much if you are reading this. Elevators are a little slow but with three of them, it was never a long wait. Overall, a good experience.

This was my first time at this hotel, and it was good, save for 1 thing. So onto the positives. — Clean when you walk in — Parking close by, only $15. Considering its downtown, thats not bad. And you get in and out privileges. — Room had a towel dog on the bed. Nice little greeting! — Bed sheets were clean — Room looked updated and new — Wifi was fast — Bathroom was clean — Temperature of the room was good — Restaurant down stairs The only negative I had was about half the towels had some sort of stain on them. Thats gross, but I did find some clean ones in the pile.

We had a great experience. The front desk person went above and beyond and printed our Wild tickets for us. They also gave us great suggestions for food and entertainment. I would suggest this hotel for it's location and service.

Was in town for the North Star College Cup. Hotel was well taken care of and the staff was able to deal with the high traffic of people. Would stay her again. Go Huskies!

This Holiday Inn wasn't anything special as far as Holiday Inn hotels go. Yeah, it was clean and actually had a television remote that worked, but the place lacked any furnishing characteristics that may make you feel a bit more at home. Plain white bed cover, sheets, pillows, no pictures hanging in the room, I don't know how else to say it, it's just bland… With that being said, its location is perfect. It's right across the street from the Xcel Energy Center so it's an ideal place if you're going to a concert or sports event which is why I stayed there. TL;DR The place is clean, bland, great location, perfect for single night stays if attending an event.

The rooms are quite small for 2 queen beds and 4 adults. I think to charge guests for parking is straight Jewish. We already paid enough money for the room as it was. Everything was clean, but the price is pretty steep for a holiday inn.

Located right next to Xcel Energy Center and within walking distance of the RiverCentre. A lot of cool restaurants and attractions also in the area. Connected to Liffey Irish Pub which sells breakfast, lunch and dinner. Free Wi-Fi.

My experience at the hotel was, overall, excellent. I was treated well by the front desk staff, as well as the staff of the Liffy (the food was great). Only downside was noticing the exposed electrical wires behind the vanity lights in the bathroom, and being told there was a small electrical fire on our floor. It made me question whether or not the electrical in our room was safe. Ultimately, we trusted everything was fine, but it did put a sense of unease onto out trip for a bit.

Stayed here for a conference. The staff was always very friendly and helpful. It was easy to replace my card key when I accidentally left mine in the room. The room was clean and they had some toiletries available if you forgot to pack them. It was little too easy to hear noise in the hallway, but this was not an issue too often. There are a lot of restaurants and bars nearby for food and fun.

I arrived after midnight and was warmly greeted by the front desk and promptly given keys and showed the elevator. The room was very clean and the beds were incredibly comfortable. It's a pretty standard hotel but what really set it apart was Nelly, my housekeeper that left a towel bunny on my bed. That is service above and beyond what I was expecting, especially for a Holiday Inn. The hotel is right across from the Xcel Energy Center which means there are lots of restaurant options within a short walk. Harriet Island, where I would be spending most of my time, is a short walk across the river. Overall, excellent staff, excellent service. I didn't eat at the restaurant while there but every night it was packed so either the drinks are cheap, the food is delicious, or both. I would definitely stay here again on my next visit to St. Paul.

Decent. About what you would expect from an older hotel in a busy location. Outside noise, yes. It is downtown St Paul. Location is great for ordway, Excel center or just downtown getaway.

One of the worst hotel experiences I've had. First this area of St. Paul is not where you want to try and sleep. You're surrounded by bars and this hotel had people coming in and out all hours of the night. The walls might as well have been made of paper with all the noise you heard. Maybe if I was on spring break this would have been where I wanted to stay. My room wasn't ready when I checked in, and the girl working the desk on the overnight couldn't have been more rude. The homeless shelter is a block away, so there were many interesting characters outside the hotel all night. For the same price there are three hotels near by that some of my co-workers were in that are much better places.

I have never witnessed such terrible customer service as I have at this hotel. Let me preface this with I never actually stayed here, our reservations were mysteriously cancelled on us. We did not know that the reservations were cancelled until the day we were to check in. Also, we were hosting a wedding. My brother was getting married and suddenly his family (4 rooms worth) were no longer staying at the hotel where we have set up shuttles so that our guests didn't have to worry about driving around on ice and snow or drinking and driving. My theory is that the manager, Evan, cancelled our reservations as he was exhausted by answering too many of our repetitive (we had a lot of reservations under our name and people coming to the wedding were also calling in) and uninteresting questions. We asked what the cancellation policy is and what the likelihood of getting into the hotel room earlier than the 4 o'clock check in time was. Also, we asked about the rates as the rates as published on the website were lower than we were quoted at the time of the wedding block reservation. I think all of these things are pretty usual. I have had to wait a week to write the review as I was livid and needed to calm down. I witnessed my mom being treated terribly on the phone, I was basically laughed at when I called in a week before our reservations to find out some information (traveling to Minnesota in December is not the easiest). I would warn everyone off from staying here.

Lovely hotel. Spacious and very clean. Excellent staff. Located right in downtown St. Paul — beautiful location. Only a block away from the Science Museum and directly across the street from great food and music venues.

Poor soundproofing. You can hear doors slamming shut in the morning. Slow elevators. Beds and shower were fine.

We tried cancelling our room 3 weeks in advance because the concert we were going to was completely sold out. They claimed because it was a discounted rate room they wouldn't be able to give a refund. It was a $175 room! They jacked up the prices for the concert and won't give a refund! The cancellation policy states that a booked room can be cancelled in 24 hours, yet when we got the room, because it was prepaid it was non-refundable (apparently on a different part of the website). This company is conniving and I will never be using Holiday Inn for anything and I will insist my friends do the same. They're going to get the room booked anyways because it's a big concert and all the other closest hotels are booked solid. What a gross company.
