We are here for a few nights and Our Room is beyond wonderful! The care to detail is phenomenal… from the decor, to the view, to the rooms, The comfortable beds and The Master Bathroom… three times the size of mine at home! Ohhhh the soaking tub! Listening to Lake Superior crash on the rocks, the cool air and warm, warm sun! The Marina… World’s Greatest Donuts… Bonfires on the beach, sitting in Adirondack Chairs in the Sun… hiking the trails to breathtaking waterfalls, nature, nature. Nature! Love Grand Marais, The North Shore and Our Room at East Bay Suites!

We had a great time at the suites this winter! The front desk staff was super friendly, and was delighted to find Sven and Oles frozen pizzas in the freezer there as well even if their restaurant is right down the street — we didn’t want to leave the nice rooms! East Bay Suites is a great location in Grand Marais within close proximity of the Gunflint trail, Grand Portage and all the other State Parks “Up North. ” We also took many walks down to Artists Point and the lighthouse for sunrises and sunsets.

It is the perfect place to stay while enjoying all that Grand Marais has to offer! Clean rooms, helpful staff and relaxing views.

The beauty & services are very good.

Loved it here. Beautiful room that resembles a cabin like atmosphere and nice amenities… kitchenette and fireplace, walk out balcony and patios, s’mores on the beach. Friendly service. I will be back next year!

I was blown away by our suite at East Bay! It was quiet and had amazing views of the lake. Highly recommend staying here the next time you’re in Grand Marais!

From arrival to departure, we had a fabulous time at East Bay Suites! Staff were so helpful thinking of everything before we even realized we needed something! Complimentary everything from afternoon popcorn, evening s’more bucket, yoga mat, free movies/games/ bikes etc. I watched the incredible sunrise/sunsets with a cup of coffee in an Adirondack chair with only the sound of waves and loons! We will be back sooner than later!

Amazing views, friendly staff, wonderful rooms, pet friendly. This is our second time here and it's just as awesome as the first. Would recommend to anyone looking to get away for a cozy weekend or week long vacation. Absolutely love it here!

One of our favorite places to stay. The furniture sometimes seems not tough enough for commercial use (leather couch was peeling like bonded leather). Great proximity to things and good view.

Gorgeous view on lake, right in town, beach with firepits, our room had an electric fireplace, bit pricey, but for a quick weekend trip, so worth it!

For as much as it cost, not entirely satisfied. The room was incredibly nice but our balcony was overlooking the parking lot. Hot and stifling room with no control of temperature save for a fan that we didn't notice until checkout. Regardless, the staff was nice, the location amazing, and a nice lodge overall.

Beautiful suites and location. We absolutely loved that they were so incredibly pet friendly; having pets makes it hard to get away sometimes but this place made it as easy as could be. The staff were so incredibly kind and helpful and the resort was very family friendly! We loved the complimentary s’mores bucket every night and the campfire! Great place to stay, we will definitely be back!

Probably the most expensive place to stay in Grand Marais, but also probably the best place. The views from our ground floor rooms were awesome. The suites are comfortable. The furniture is in good shape. Staff quality varies from person to person but overall is attentive. There is some lack of detail to things (we attempted to use the gas grill but it was really dirty, I'm still not sure what the cleaning policy is), but overall it's a nice place to stay.

I love the rooms and the staff. You cannot beat the view or the location. Coming here is always a great get away!

We stayed in one of the three room suites and used a pullout couch. The kitchen was large and well equipped, everything was very clean and well kept, the location was terrific and the price was good. We definitely want to come back here.

Comfortable 2 bedroom, 2 bathroom suite with 2 entrances, full kitchen: stove, microwave, full-size refrigerator with ice maker, coffee maker, dishwasher and use of resort's gas grille. Private stacked clothes washer/dryer. 3 LCD TVs, DVD player. Great view of Lake Superior and Artist's Point from the 2 balconies or big picture windows. Pet-friendly rooms available. Pack your swimsuit: privileges at nearby Cook County YMCA with pool, hot tub, sauna. Convenient local co-op grocery next door. First time we've vacationed here in winter, great beautiful winter hiking to South on 61 at Cascade River State Park or Judge Magney to North.

Fantastic place to stay and get lost in the sounds of Lake Superior. Beds are comfy, rooms are spotless, and family oriented — love the live music and popcorn in the common room. Like a home away from home.

An amazing and comfortable home-away from-home. The best location, right on the lake, what a view! Full kitchen with all the utensils, cozy living room with full bookshelves, and a lovely soaking-size tub. Not just dog friendly, but dog-welcoming! Blankets, towels, and bowls in the room, and water and towels at all the doors.

Nice room lots of amenities included. The suite was very clean and comfortable. Able to make food without going out to eat for every meal is bonus.

Very nice place to stay. Central location between all of the cool places for you to eat, shop or visit. Good views.

Great location for walking around Grand Marais and along the beaches. Great view. Rooms are clean, cozy and nice. Pet friendly. We've stayed there before and we'll stay there again.

Grand Marais, MN was the goal of our end of summer, nearly winter, mini getaway. We decided East Bay Suites would be wonderful and is right next to the lake, shops and restaurants, etc. We arrived at the front desk and were greeted with helpful and friendly information. Got up to our suite and instantly opened the windows to hear the magnificent sounds of the waves just feet away from our balcony. It really is worth it for the view and lovely room. Our reason for four stars is we didn't quite understand that the fireplaces weren't gas but more like heaters that give the illusion of fire. We were hoping for actual fire as we generally like to spend time near a fire in the evenings. Not so here. Also, the beds are slightly small with older bedding but certainly not horrible, just not as upscale as you might think for the money you're spending. Walls are a little thin and if people are running their washer and dryer, the room will shake for a time. These are nit picky things, I know. But reasons again for the four stars. Speaking of stars. This is the place to see them if you haven't for a while!

The location was amazing. The staff was friendly and eager to help with even the smallest requests. The room was clean and fully ready when we arrived. The only things that seemed to fall short was temperature control. While it is fall, the room would reach 78 degrees with the heat off. No cooling option seemed to work. We opened the windows which brought in the sound and smells of Northern Minnesota, it did little to cool without a breeze. The bed was a tad small and a little stiff. Even so, it did little to lower the experience for me.

Gorgeous, but spendy… Really couldn't have asked for more from the 2 bedroom w/kitchen suite we rented. It was up to date, big, and had a tremendous view of the lake. The only draw back was the price tag. First rate accomodations however!

The location is great right next to the beach, great view. The have a good breakfast and nice hot tub. The rooms are nice and there's always hot water for showers. The staff are nice and helpful.

10/10 amazing place. My family and I stayed here for the fourth of July weekend, we haven't even completed our weekend yet and I can confidently give an A+ rating. Amazing front desk service and excellent room service and amenities. We will definitely stay here our next trip up.

I love this place! My second time staying here and the room and view is just amazing! Our air is broken so someone is coming to fix it tomorrow. Kinda sucks they can't come asap but I understand. We just have to sleep with the windows open. Dog friendly! Also they give you a whole smores and bonfire kit for free it's amazing! Also the free popcorn night was great. I love all the games and movies. I would definitely recommend and will stay here again! Also everyone here is so friendly. Nothing better than getting woke up by the smell of fresh donuts. Also an easy walk through the town and to artist point.

We've been annual guests of Eastbay Suites since 2007, and have yet to encounter a negative experience. The staff is friendly and accommodating, the rooms (both individual and multi-room units) are spacious, clean and we'll appointed, and the location can't be beat. If you can, reserve a first floor lake-view room to take advantage of the beach at your door.

When you stay at East Bay Suites, you are walking distance from pretty much everything Grand Marais has to offer. Our favorite room is 108 — it has a Japanese soaking tub and a walkout patio just steps from the lake. Dogs are allowed and welcomed; however, be aware that dogs are not allowed to stay alone in the room, and this can be a challenge if you want to go out to eat. Dogs are not welcome at restaurants, even at outdoor seating. We ended up putting our dog in the car when we went to restaurants and then parking her in a shady spot with the windows cracked open. Overall, Grand Marais is a magical place, and so is East Bay Suites — and we will be back again!

East Bay Suites is located in Grand Marais on the Shore of Lake Superior. Each room has one bedroom, a kitchen, a washer and a dryer, and a family room. They provide many things such as movies, snore supplies, and games. In conclusion if you are looking for a nice summer getaway East Bay Suites is a good place to check out.

Traveling with young kids, these suites are loud and many neighbors have dogs that bark throughout the night. Otherwise, it is in a great location and rooms are decent.

My family and I decided to run away from the city for the night and stay in Grand Marais. We could not have been happier with our decision to stay at East Bay Suites. They are pet friendly, which was one reason we decided to book there. We had an awesome 1 bedroom suite with a fully furnished kitchen and living room area. Our room overlooked the beach and Lake Superior. You could open the windows or sliding French door and hear the waves of the lake crashing on the shoreline, couple that with the gas fireplace and it was truly sublime! My only regret was not being able to book a longer stay.

Really impressed with the use of space. The design of the room. And, then there is the million dollar view …

Amazing view of Lake Superior from an amazing room. Great space to spend the weekend as a quiet getaway from the cities. The crashing waves are a soothing distraction. Walking distance from tons of delicious restaurants and Voyageur Brewery too!

Used to love this place, They have a off season stay 2 night get 1 free, but don't be fooled all they do is raise the rates those weekends. Last Visit, my electric fireplace sounded like a jet airplane, our key didn't work and we were locked out of the building for about an hour one night until someone walked by and let us in, lucky it still worked in our room door. Coffee pot didn't work either. Told the front desk about all 3 the 2nd morning didn't get an apology, got a new key and coffee pot but did not fix fireplace.

Great place and friendly staff. Perfect place to stay while visiting the North Shore. Higher priced than I normally pay for a motel but worth every penny. Had a ground floor one bedroom suite and it was great having a fireplace, large tub, fully equipped kitchen and a perfect view. We will be back!
