We really enjoyed our stay over Memorial Day weekend. The location is PERFECT — just steps from the Square, but not IN the Square, making for a quiet night and easy parking. Just a stone's throw (literally) from the Visitor's Center, History Museum, a park with a playground. The rooms were simply but stylishly appointed. My only caution: most rooms are accessed by at least a few stairs, which can be a pain if you're traveling with a lot of gear.

Great atmosphere and seems pretty quiet this time of year. It’s walking distance from all the shops. They have happy hour and board games to play while you hang out and everyone is so friendly! We will be return guests for sure!

This was a great hotel. I stayed in hard rock hotel in Tahoe and it wasn't anything like this. Rooms are comfy and cozy, plenty of room. Decorated nicely, staff was sweet as pie! Anyone that posted negativity on this hotel must have been having a bad day! Definitely a great place to stay!

Do not recommend this hotel at all. Well overpriced. Not a resort style hotel. Rooms are small, not even a chair to sit on, no pool, front desk staff not very friendly. Overall, not a good experience.

A good place to be. Very nice frontdesk and very helpfull, because we where so early, but that was not a problem. Nearby to town centrum.

Just love this place! Have stayed here twice. The rooms are well thought out with luxurious amenities. So happy they now have some pet-friendly rooms. But the best part is the super-friendly and helpful staff! You guys are awesome!

A very pleasant motel (2-3 star) with a simple espresso bar in the lobby. The Anvil seems to have bought a handful of motels in the nearby area so they have multiple detached locations. Our room was small, clean and tastefully updated. We were greeted with humour by the evening manager, and the night bookkeeper helped carry coffees to my room. There is a playground 3 min walk away. There is an indoor water park/slide/pool 5 min walk away.

While the hotel has a nice updated look and is in a good location the room comfort was lackluster. The AC Unit in the window was super loud waking my partner and I up multiple times in the middle of the night. For all of it's noise it did a bad job of keeping the room cool and we were rather uncomfortable (overhead fan also didn't work). The bed itself also had a mound in the middle of the bed that we felt a slope from while sleeping. Cute room but one of the worst hotel nights I've had sleep wise in a while. We stayed at the mountain modern earlier in our trip and while a different feel — much more comfortable stay.

We really liked Anvil and even extended our stay a night. To set expectations, it is a motel with a face lift — much more pleasing than a chain hotel. We stayed in a room without air conditioning, which isn't a problem at 6200 ft in the summer, especially when there is a ceiling fan. What set it apart was a very friendly staff, free coffee, happy hour and convenient location — we could walk everywhere in Jackson.

What a beautiful, friendly, and comfortable place to stay. The cozy room was the perfect end to our active days around the trails. The food at the restaurant was unbelievable, and the cocktail menu had the best twists on your traditional drinks. The place is pet friendly and the lobby dog Bella will greet you with so much love, she’ll make your day! Also, did I mention there’s coffee available all day for guests? The lobby was the perfect spot to warm up or cool down from the day with delicious pastries, espresso drinks, daily happy hour, your favorite board games, and a really cute selection of boutique items to shop. The staff had great recommendations for things to do around and beyond town. We felt so well taken care of, just like at home. We’ll be coming back to The Anvil for sure ❤️

Extremely helpful staff at check-in and very willing to show the way to the room. Our room was AWESOME and very fitting for the Jackson era they want to recreate. Coffee in the lobby/mercantile is fantastic! It’s literally a block from the main corner in Jackson so I’d say BOOK IT if you’re on fence! They also have bikes & helmets you can use as a guest for no additional charge. With the paved riding trails and ped/cyclist-friendly environment of this town, you can’t go wrong!

Pros: great location near town sq, cool hipster vibe. Cute lobby design. Daily happy hour. Cons: it’s a renovated motel so the rooms are accessed through an exterior hallway. Doors/walls are very thin so you can hear every person (and their conversation) as they walk by… The rooms are very dimly lit and pretty small — this was expected as sq footage is noted on the website but Worth noting. Limited amenities — I called the front desk for an iron and was told that they were all given out. I asked if they could check if anyone was done with an iron but they said that they had a limited number and that they didn’t even know which rooms had borrowed them. Irons should be STANDARD for a hotel. It isn’t an item that easily purchased or traveled with. This was a pretty basic request and I was very disappointed that the staff was unapologetic and unhelpful.

Thanks to the Anvil for throwing three stranded travelers out on the street! We stayed at the Anvil this past weekend, and the hotel is nice enough. The rooms are cool, even without air conditioning, well most of the time anyway. The issue here is with the staff. They are a cool and by that I mean completely aloof. They are also completely heartless. We were in a car accident on Friday and our car is in the shop. We were told it would be ready later this afternoon (2-3) but when we inquired with the guy at the front desk about getting a late check out, he told us we could have an extra half hour! That’s it, despite the fact the hotel is clearly advertising a vacancy. Needless to say I will never stay here again. I would also advise anyone else to find somewhere else to stay. Who wants to pay $250 a night to be treated like dirt? (Especially in front of their child. )

This hotel got to be the hippest accommodation in town if not the coolest. Well though after and design with nostalgia. The reception room is a select store cum coffee bar with sitting area upstairs that you can browse on lifestyle and fashion magazines just makes you forget that you are indeed in Jackson Hole. Missing Bella the dog already. Also free brew coffee for in house guest all day! All the guys working there are so handsome too.

Old hotel renovated true to its location and tradition but with considerably more comfort and style and a kind of hipster vibe. Good coffee available in the morning for guests. No elevator so you might need to pull your luggage up to the second floor. Great location in town.

Everything here in Jackson Hole is expensive. This place was a little less expensive. One block off the main square. Some have called it rustic and small but I don't think it's a bad thing. Great coffee in the morning and staff were all friendly and knowledgeable about things to do and see in the area. I'd come back if my vacation took me back this way.

Nice hotel and I love the complimentary items. Rooms too small. Dislike being tucked away on floors near the alley. Great location.

Very friendly check-in, very cool lobby/shop, and nicely appointed rooms. There is also a nice Italian restaurant associated with the hotel right next door. The only down side is that the lobby has limited hours, so if you want to leave early (to go to Yellowstone for example) you can't check out with anyone in person. I just left the keys in the room and hoped I didn't get charged for a late check out. Hours later I saw that they send an email asking if you want to digitally check out. That's a cool feature but preferably something they should state during check-in.

Very convenient location. Quaint set up in the lobby and room. Quick and convenient check in and check out. Reliable internet. Beware of ticks though — we found two in our room.

Just great, perfect located nearby downtown. Really fancy and lovely looking. Besides awesome freshly brewed drip coffee… for free!

We traveled to Jackson this week for our wedding and stayed at the Anvil, which was one of the best decisions we could have made! The tiny thoughtful details, superb customer service and intentional design of this hotel make it such a wonderful place to be. Thank you so much for making our time in Wyoming unforgettable, we will certainly be back to visit!

This place is awesome! What a cool lobby what a cool property! I stayed here in leu of staying at a pricey jackson hole resort. And for 99 bucks (hotel tonight) it was worth it. It seems to be an 80's motel redone to be a destination spot. Hardwood floors in the room along with ornate bathroom fixtures and comfy beds. Worth the stay!

I rarely write reviews but was compelled to do so after my visit to the Anvil Hotel. I visited in mid March 2018 prior to meeting a group of guys on for a ski trip in JH. It was my first time in Jackson and didn't do much research on the town. But I decided to stay here based on the cost / comfort / convenience offered by the Anvil. I soon realized the hotel is better than their own description on Yelp. Moreover, the staff was the most helpful group I've ever had he pleasure to meet. They helped me with Nordic skiing locations, good sushi in town, events to partake in — they were a solid group of people. They even helped us out with a logistical problem we faced days AFTER my stay. Bob and staff — thank you! When I return to WY I'm staying at the Anvil.

I stayed at Anvil Hotel back in January and it was wonderful. Not too much fluff, but just enough to make you feel like you're getting the most bang for your buck. As a first timer in the Jackson Hole area, it was pretty amazing to have this centrally located stay as my place to call home. They've put together an Explorer's Program that works with local guides to help their guests make the most of the time while they're in town. My favorite experiences were with Jacksonhole Eco Tours where I was able to get the inside scoop on the ecosystem and wildlife that lives in this area of Wyoming and then use it everywhere I went for the rest of my stay. They offer complimentary coffee all day to their hotel guests and every day they have "adult hot cocoa" in the lobby for happy hour to warm you back up after a day out exploring. The rooms are cozy, the beds are comfortable and the water pressure is legit. Glorietta is their on-site restaurant which serves amazing cocktails, really delicious shared plates and is casual enough to come straight off the slopes to dinner if you'd like. But if you're up for a night out, this is a great place for a nightcap also. Beautifully decorated, amazing, friendly staff that will make you feel right at home. I'm heading back in the spring/summer and this will be where I lay my head, for sure. Thanks for the hospitality, Anvil, happy to know I have a home away from home in Wyoming.

Supremely quaint yet modern hotel. Rooms are definitely on the small side but are well furnished and fitted with strong heating to keep the winter cold out and a ceiling fan for summer. The reception room has great coffee and croissants and sells all sorts of useful items for your stay in Jackson including backpacks, overwear, canteens and other camping supplies. The staff were extremely helpful during our stay assisting with booking activities and suggestions of interesting things to see and do. They have a large car park on site for parking and most importantly are extremely well priced for Jackson which can be on the expensive side of the things. Highly recommended and I would definitely stay again.

Such a neat little place to stay. The vibe was exactly what I wanted it to be for a night in a small town in the mountains. My room was super stylish, cozy and clean, and the gentleman I booked with was super helpful and answered a million questions that I had about weather, road conditions, the area and things to do, all before I even booked a room! Location was excellent and lots to do in walking distance. Oh, and they had a Wednesday wine tasting the night I was there which just topped off a great stay. Mark my words, I will be back.

Hotel Coffee Shop Lobby is a cozy and a great place to work. I was here on vacation, but needed a place to work remotely each morning. I spent every morning during my stay at one of the private little work spaces in the lobby. The lobby has a wood fire stove, $2 coffee, espresso, and baked goods. The lobby is decorated in a cross between Western and 1920's sophistication. It was quiet and tranquil. Best place to spend time reading a book or getting work done in Jackson. Free Wi-Fi.

We got to the place right before X-mas, wonderful friendly people up front, cozy and warm, well maintained!, and great redesigned rooms. One of the best values for the prize you can get across the US Rocky Mountains. Great location, walking distance to town, definitely one of my favorite! can't wait t odor Back. Retro vintage style, loved it! Think handle-bar mustaches! Organic soaps/lotions and excellent coffee. Warm wool blanket comforter and wood floors. Really clean, nice little boutique historic hotel!

I loved this hotel! The style is beautiful. The toiletries were great. It was clean and stylish. You can tell it was recently renovated. The lobby had live music and awesome hot chocolate. The location can’t be beat. It could be a little noisy at times due to the great location. If we return to Jackson I will definitely stay here!

I wouldn't call this a luxury hotel. In fact there was nothing luxurious about our hotel room back behind the alley in a separate building. The location is super convenient for downtown Jackson and the room was clean enough. It's more like a $60 motel in Des Moines, Iowa.

Cozy hotel an easy walk from all the restaurants and shops of Jackson. Great service and very comfortable beds. Highly recommend!

All hotels in Jackson hole are over priced, but the Anvil was tasteful in it's redesign. Expect more a high end motel feel, but with good amenities, but being in Jackson hole is not about the sleeping experience. The hotel was super convenient to the Town square and many of the restaurants and shops. Overall it was quiet and the sleep was adequate enough, but the scenery make up for its deficiencies. If you're looking for a weekend getaway to the mountains, you won't do much better for the price.

We enjoyed our stay. Rooms are small but comfortable. Was a more moderately priced accommodation for the area. Good toiletries. But parking was limited and could be a struggle.

It was an amazing stay, design is very well done. Only con was that our room didn't had an A/C. Not acceptable for this price in my opinion. Would recommend! Also try the neighboring Italian restaurant, absolutely one of the best restaurants in Jackson.

Minimal parking but there is street parking. Rooms are small but nice. Bed and pillows are awesome! No desk for business traveler but; small table and chairs that will barely hold a laptop. No iron in room so will have to ask. Staff was awesome on check-in!

Tourist gouging joke of a place. Pay $450 to stay here overnight for work. This outfit and town in general far as I can tell has no empathy for the working class. So we pay out the hind end for this room to find essentially a cozy little cabin that might run 40 bucks anywhere else. No air conditioner and to top it off the shower was broken. Of course we didn't come to realize about the shower til it was too late to inform anyone. The only credit to this outfit was the pleasant receptionist who credited (our boss) back 88 dollars and seemed very sincere with her apologies. I'm sure they're happy to going their employees for pay as much as they take from their customers.

What an amazing place to be! We loved our stay, staff is very friendly and helpful, rooms are comfy and nice, well decorated (totally in love with the style! ) Hope to come back.

Great little comfy hotel. So what they dont show you is that there is a back section to this hotel. I thought I was going to be staying in the front by the street. The back looks totally different from the front Red and white trimming section. The back section where I stayed was Very cute. It feels like little cottages. Even though the rooms were a little small. I loved it!

Apparently there are two Anvils. There's the nicer one, the red wood paneled building that does appear to have a/c, and then there is the crap motel hidden around back. Unfortunately, I got the latter and can only review based on my experience. That part of the Anvil is barely one star worthy. The rooms are tiny, fixtures were bent or damaged, the beds were uncomfortable, the pillows are not even bed pillows they look they belong on a sofa and have no cover sheets. The rooms have no A/C and a tiny ceiling fan that barely circulates air in the room. I found myself so stuffy in the room even with the window open, letting in all the noise from outside, that I barely got any sleep. Also, no mini fridge for cold items. For the price of $170+, I really expected better, at least A/C. I know I will never come to this place again in Jackson.

Good location, wonderful food, enjoyed the wait staff and there was a great atmosphere.

Clean, friendly and affordable, in a great location. They let us check out at 1PM so we could finish horseback riding in the morning — the horseback riding outfit was recommended by them and was wonderful as well.

The rooms are ok. They are old and the outlets need to be replaced, along with the old crt TV. But the price is good, rooms are clean, and the desk staff were nice.

We really loved this place, everything in older tourist trap downtown area was easily within walking distance. Only stayed one night, cause we were passing through. But it was clean, and reasonably priced.

Anvil Jackson — not a good start, in the middle of Yellowstone realized their email confirmation had no complete address nor phone number to call. Room had cozy feeling in the midst of a cozy town. Plumbing and other noises easily audible from other rooms, not good. Check in only one staff working and when he's on break. But the guy was cool. Breakfast was muffins, fruit and yogurt. Luckily for me, neighbors were quiet. Not sure how the other rooms are, mine was 116. I'd love to give this place higher stars because of the location and the coziness of the room but a quiet night sleep is by far the most important factor.

We stayed here two nights and couldn't be happier. It is within walking distance to restaurants and shops and it's easy to find. We ate breakfast at the Bunnery every day, which was wonderful. And we had a very enjoyable dinner at the Merry Piglets. I would stay here again.

They were very accommodating. They allowed me to use a microwave, gave me passes for the swim recreational facility, and and gave me passes to fitness center. Friendly staff and housekeeping.

What can I say but bed bugs.

Great motel with very honest people. I left my ipad in my room and didn't realize it until I had driven halfway home to Tennessee. They had the package shipped directly to me with no problems. Honesty goes a long way for me.

The location of Anvil is perfect, very near to a best in town Thai restaurant and downtown area. Fair price. But you can hear people next room at night or when they walk by. The only problem is, maybe one block away, there's is a construction field, which will be noisy in the morning starting at 8. If you want to sleep after that time, it's a little noisy. But if you leave early in the morning, it's fine. Just let you know. Simple breakfast, a little bit too simple. But still, a good and cheap choice to stay.

My daughter was recently on a backpacking trip in the Grand Tetons and took quite a tumble. After her trip to the ER, it was quite apparent that she could no longer camp out. After reading the review about the woman with the sick baby and husband, I decided to call the Anvil. The staff there could not have been nicer or more reassuring. I was thousands of miles away and felt like there were other people looking out for my child. They were helpful to her and her friends. They even kept her stuff for her after she had checked out while she was at the local doctor's office. It restores your faith in human beings.
