My experience at Howard Johnson was amazing. The night time worker Jasmine was incredibly nice and helpful when my keys weren't working. She reprogramedthem so they would work n get me into my room.

Absolutely horrible ownership. Certain workers are wonderful, but the rest are lazy, rude workers. The manager isn't very nice either. The rooms are not the greatest. The a. C don't work in most of the rooms, the doors have huge cracks between them. I wouldn't recommend this motel to anyone. If you want cheap and ignorant workers. Then come to the howard! Not even one star!

Booked a last minute deal when we decided to stay in Gillette after a volleyball tourney. We had stayed at the Wingate by Wyndham the night before for $60, so when I saw this deal for only $13 less than we had paid the night before, for a 5 star hotel I figured it would be ok. The only reason I’m giving it a 2 star rating is because the staff was nice and accommodating. I booked through Booking. Com. A King Deluxe room. Not sure of the standard of “deluxe”in this hotel. The first room smelled like smoke while it had a non smoking sign on the door. The door from the hallway was open when we went to go in as well as the door to the parking lot. The sofa sleeper or chair had been removed, there was a bed and a lamp, the carpet had holes in it and it smelled like someone had just smoked a cigarette in there a few minutes before. I went to the desk and told the clerk about the smell and the doors being unlocked. She promptly gave us another room but stated we had booked the last king deluxe. I wasn’t concerned with the bed size as much as I was the quality of this hotel. Our second room was a two queen room. Appeared to be a little more updated and no holes in the carpet. It didn’t smell like smoke so that was a bonus. The security lock on the door was hanging off the wall partially. The bathroom appeared clean and so did the bedding. The outlet in the bathroom was hanging off the wall as well and didn’t work and the wall paper was peeling.
