This place was great :) all the appliances were new and everything was very clean. All staff was very nice and extremely accommodating. Don’t let the price fool you! You can tell they’re efforts in making this place better and better. Our room even had a jacuzzi! Will definitely be back :)

We reserved a room with a double bed and got there and received one full size bed. They were booked and could do nothing about it. We had to go buy a blow up mattress. Our room was on the second floor and we were staying for 4 days and they didn't even have an elevator so we had to Lug all of our luggage up a flight of stairs which was horrible. They had a refrigerator which was very nice but no microwave and no in-room coffee. The ice machine also was on the first floor so anytime we needed ice we had to go down the stairs get the ice and bring it back up. The front desk staff was so busy and understaffed there was usually five people in line and one person at the desk it was ridiculous. There was no breakfast just ice water and I guess coffee but we didn't attempt to even get any. The parking lot was full of so many potholes you couldn't avoid them. One of the windows had nasty sayings on it that was like engraved in the window I think it said home of doctor love very inappropriate. The second floor smelled like pot. I was very unimpressed with this hotel. Oh and no hair dryer in this room no shampoo in this room either no hangers in this room and no luggage rack this was really really a poor room and stay and we were stuck there for four nights.

Great motel! I walked in with a friend of mine with my dog in my arms. No questions asked, they just added the $20 pet fee and we were able to keep my dog in the room! I can't stand being separated from my little guy he gets cold so easily, and doesn't like being left alone in the car. He always sleeps right next to me. I'm just so glad to have a hotel I can bring my pet to. The shower was a bit creaky and bubbly, I was a little worried that I might fall through to the neighbors room bellow. Great service, friendly staff, nice rooms. Not great, but being allowed to keep your pet with you makes it a worthwhile hotel in the area.

With the exception of the one terrible medium complection brown skinned approximately 40 something African-American female day time assistant manager; EVERY OTHER EMPLOYEE, INLCUDING THE AFRICAN AMERICAN GENTLEMAN WHO IS HER BOSS THAT I COMPLAINED TO ARE ALL EXCELLENT AND PROFESSIONAL AND HELPFUL PEOPLE… The Facilities could use some improvements, and they seemed to have some efforts ongoing. DEFINITELY a thumbs up overall, and if you get the ONE rude lady manager, just talk to her boss; and post about it. If it keeps up, I think that they'll adjust her employment STATUS is she doesn't adjust her attitude.

The staff was super helpful and nice. And our room wasn't that bad, but it did smell like urin the whole time. And other people's reviews said they had bed bugs so we didn't sleep under the covers. The ice machine wasn't working at that point either. A couple days they forgot to give us new towels. But it was a decent room for the price.

Location is excellent when visiting Calvin college — you can be there in 10 minutes. Rooms are very comfortable and reasonably clean. I recommend the second floor as the floor creaks in some rooms and you don't want to be under that.

Read reviews. Place was clean. No sign of bed bugs. But pictures lie. Thought standard rooms came with a fridge. Didn't have anywhere to put my insulin. Room was bare. Can tell it had another bed. Bathroom was tiny. Everything needs to be updated. Walls repainted and furniture replaced. Can't complain about availability. Their doors were open when HIExpress decided to overbook and not have our room ready. Was just to sleep anyway. And it was less than half the cost.

The room was clean. The staff was friendly and helpful. I would stay again. I only wish you had coffee!

The only reason it even deserves one star is that it's close to food and shopping options. The entire place smelled very strongly of marijuana, and staff doesn't care at all. The rooms have roaches and bedbugs and housekeeping doesn't come in to clean at all. When I told the manager I was reporting the marijuana smell to the police she told me "the police are in and out of here all the time". Not really a good thing. I also had to get my card rekeyed every time I needed in my room because it never worked. Of you're on a budget go with the motel 6 across town on Plainview. It's around $10-$15 more a night, but includes bug free rooms, a microwave and mini fridge, staff that is nice, and a pool for an extra bonus. Of staying longer, due to their weekly rate it's only about 30 more for the entire week, and is completely worth it. That's where we moved and I'm so glad we did.

The first girl I talked to could not find my reservation and wanted 25 dollars more than what I was told. She was very rude and would not listen to me. A different girl finally came out of the back and had no problem pulling up my reservation.

My room’s air conditioner did not work upon entering the room, which smelled like smoke. The lady at the desk told me to open a window before I even mentioned the smell. So she knew. I was told upon arrival that the Internet was down and had been for the past few days. It never worked the entire time I was there. I went on account of business and relied on internet to upload photos that night for my photo/video production company. I called the motel 6 customer service number And was transferred to another Motel 6 number. They said that they cannot help me. So they gave me the phone number to the actual Internet provider, who was closed at the time. I don’t know why I, as a customer, would have to call the internet provider?!?! I then asked the front desk and the manager asked if she could issue a refund and have me go find another hotel instead. The event I was photographing was in 2 hours. Seeking another reasonably priced hotel in that amount of time wasn’t an option. She wouldn’t even issue me a half price refund. The lack of understanding, empathy, and incompetence of this motel is absolutely ridiculous.

I booked two rooms. Mine was clean though I went back to my car to get a can of deodorant spray — must have been some lingering cigarette smoke because I am allergic to it. The hallways smelled strongly of marijuana smoke. We three are all working for its legalization but want choice as to when and where we are exposed to it. However, though my friend in the second room paid for his room when we checked in (I booked it as a favor), it was kept in my name (? ) so when he stepped out for a bit, he could not get back into the room and had to wake me at 11:30 to go to the front desk (different clerk). He feels bad about waking me — I didn't tell him that I didn't sleep quite as well the rest of the night. He said his room was NOT clean, and the key card was hard to work in the first place and he'd already been down to the front desk to get that taken care after we first arrived. He said this is his worst motel experience ever. All my other Motel 6 visits elsewhere have been just fine, even very good.

Was looking for a cheap place to stay and only paid a little over $40 for the room. I felt it was a good value for the money. Did smell kind of like weed in the hallway in the morning. Not a big deal to me but might be for some. Felt fairly safe but might have gotten a slightly better place if staying with my wife and family instead of alone.

The only good thing about this hotel is the front desk employees. Very sweet. But the hotel itself is a nightmare. Hallways were full of litter, you can hear every little noise from the hallway and other rooms. I lifted my blanket only to find stray pieces of hair and a very stained sheet. I couldn't even bear to stay the whole night because of all of the reviews of bedbugs. Be careful.

Great value for just an over night stop. It was pretty clean and does have internet in the room. They don't shovel the walks except for the main entrance.

At first I thought it would be a decent place to stay for the price. It wasn't worth it, the front desk customer service was terrible! They were short and rude. Booked for two nights. In the 2nd night we realized we were being bitten by something. It was bed bugs! Yes BED BUGS! we were refunded out money yet treated very poorly. Our house burned down so we've been forced to stay at hotels for the time being. We cant afford a lot. So when we thought out laundry soap in the room. I went back for it. The cleaning crew said it was never there. When I know for a fact it was. Horrible place to stay. Worst experience in a hotel in my life. I have been considering calling the BBB, health dept and local news unless the owner reaches out to me. That's all I have to say about the Motel 6

This location gets one star for the the convenience of it's location. The location was very accessible to everything. It will be given no additional stars because the sheets looked to be dirty. The carpets were stained and dirty. The room had used half full water glasses sitting around with no trash cans to dispose of them. The only other bright spot was the front desk personnel that checked us in. They were more than accomodating.

The place was a bit rundown with persons 'hanging out' inside and out. This gave the sence of being unsafe. However the room was clean and bed very comfortable. I was only at the hotel from 9pm to 9am. No one lingering in the morning. The hall carpet was extremely stained and the lobby looked as if it was waiting to be painted. The clerk indicated it had been that way for some time.

Location was more convenient that I expected when booking. We were at an event closer to downtown than the airport. Our room was clean. The motel in general was a bit frayed: the parking lot surface was cracked and heaved by winter frost — but no potholes; the front door entrance had a couple of postings — not exactly welcoming; wall at reception desk had the wallpaper removed and did not appear to be in an immediate state of repair; the clerks were friendly and welcoming; there seemed to be inadequate sound proofing between rooms and floors — we could hear people moving on the floor above us as we walked the hallway to our room; our room was clean and we most likely would have used the in-room hot tub had we not been so tired; being near the far end of the hallway, we did not experience room noise from other guests, but we suspect we would have had we been in a room more centrally located. For the cheap price we paid, it was a fair deal. For a one night stay we might book this place again.

Extension cord running across hallway. From outlet to Room. Room NOT cleaned Sat. Am. Had to ask for clean towels. Run down-wallpaper peeling off. No coffee marker, microwave or frig in room. Lights did not work independently of each other. Mattress dirty.

This Motel 6 was SO bad. Here's a list of pros and cons from our experience: Cons: — There was at least two inches of space underneath the doors. Anyone could look under the door from the hallway and see everything and everyone in the room. — We could also hear from the hallway literally everything everyone said inside their own rooms. We could hear everything from our room too that was going on in the hallway and other rooms. — The room was supposed to be nonsmoking but smelled heavily of smoke. — There were bugs — The room was not cleaned very well and there were stains on the bed sheets and comforter. — The bath towels were very thin and scratchy. — The wall plugs didn't work and our phone charger would just fall out of the plug because it was so loose. — There weren't any "Do Not Disturb" signs provided. Because we had our dog with us, we went to the Lobby to tell them not to enter the room, even if we weren't in there because we didn't want our dog to get out. They told us no one was scheduled to go in until the end of our stay. Literally the next day, the housekeepers insisted on coming into the room. She didn't do anything but look around. We told her not to come in again and had to tell her our dog was not friendly (he's a big dog who loves everyone but we needed her to be afraid of him in order for her to not come in again). We ended up making our own Do Not Disturb sign and hung it on the door when we were gone.

Nice room for the money… But on the weekends the price went up over $20 for the same room. I thought that this was a bit extreme. And especially since I stayed a few nights I felt like they could at least give me the same price. But other than that it was a great experience.

Overall I was very impressed with Motel 6, great quality for the price! The rooms were simple, but clean and the bed was very comfortable. There was a reoccurring issue with the key — — it often didn't work, and then it 'expired' the second evening of my stay and I had to get it recoded again. It was a bit of a nuisance to traipse down to the front desk several times to get the keys figured out, but all in all not that big of deal.

The price made this trip an affordable option. Bed was comfy, room was rather clean. The furniture is older and tacky, the carpet is gross. The parking is easy, and we got discounts to local restaurants. Happy we stayed here. Hope they upgrade these rooms soon. Staff was helpful and friendly.

Very easy to get to. Room was clean and comfortable. Loved having really hot water during my showers-probably the nicest motel shower I've ever had! Only thing I didn't like was strangers repeatedly knocking on my door. Also wished you provided coffee in the lobby.

If I didn't have to leave a star at all — I would say ZERO stars. I don't like leaving negative reviews but I would never want someone with kids going here. It is the dirtiest, stingiest hotel I've ever been to in my life. I don't know why it doesn't get shut down. The front desk was very rude and the sheets had hair — yes, hair all over them. When I asked for new ones I almost felt guilty as they were so nasty to me about it. Very awful — spend an extra $20 for clean sheets and air.

I stayed in room 227. First had lot of difficulty entering the room. The electronic card was really worn out. Came out for a reason, second time entry was worst than first. Took many minutes to enter. There was no cooling in the room. Luckily I was able to open the window. That helped a lot. It has been long time since I tried to sleep with window open. I may had 1 to 1 1/2 hours of sleep.

The motel was relatively clean and I felt safe for the most part. There were quite a few seedy characters roaming the halls at all hours, but nothing I'm not used to. I wished the outlets in the room were not so loose, but other than that, the room was just what I needed at a great price.

The staff was helpful and friendly. On check-in, I was told where I could find a good place to eat. My room was clean and quiet. My main complaint is that the bathroom smelled horribly of cigarette smoke. In the evening, I think I could see smoke coming into my bathroom from the ceiling vent. Perhaps the smoke was coming from the stairwell? I tried using the exhaust fan to get rid of the smoke smell, but the fan didn't work. I had to keep the bathroom door closed in order not to be asphyxiated by the smell. The other minor problem is that people were getting drunk and disorderly in the parking lot. As long as I kept the window shut, this wasn't a problem. It rained in the evening, and that made all the noisy drunks go somewhere else. Otherwise, it was an okay Motel 6.

The female front desk clerk was very pleasant and helpful. The male desk clerk that checked us in was rude and did not even bother to mention the free coffee in the morning or the significant discounts several local restaurants offer motel 6 guests. We only found out our last day there. Even when I asked the housekeeper, our room was never cleaned for the duration of our 4 night stay. If you're looking for economical lodging and are willing to do without amenities this is the place to be. I would stay there again.

First, the lady that I checked in with was EXTREMELY RUDE. After driving 15 hours straight it would have been nice to have been met with a friendly, smiling face. Nope! I got the rudest woman in Michigan. Secondly, I love that y'all are pet friendly but the fleas were HORRIBLE. Had to buy my daughter Benadryl and buy flea spray for the room because there were no other hotels available for us to transfer to! Third, the noise at night was too much! People loitering. Forth, the staff bringing their kids to work and them running up the halls screaming and crying all night! My daughter was playing in the State Games of America and we were just completely exhausted! Looks like Motel 6 has a lot of work to do! Best of luck to y'all!

U have stayed in motel 6 before and it was a very good stay. For $100/night I would have expected the bathroom fan and electrical outlets to work, the bathroom to not smell like an ash tray, and people to not be laying on the floor in the hall ways in the evening. No shampoo was in the room. Here are some of the things they got right: the desk service was great at check-in, but all the workers didn't show the same personal pride in their work (other attendants didn't even say hi as several people walked by on multiple occasions). The AC worked fine, the room (aside from the bathroom) smelled fine, the bed was clean. I would not trust my family to stay here, and expect a hotel in this shape to be priced below $50/night in Grand Rapids, MI. Ultimately I felt ripped off, and would have cancelled upon arrival if it was more than just me, and I almost cancelled anyway. Yes.

Great location and awesome place to stay. I highly recommend this place to everyone who likes to stay in a clean environment at a prestige motel with a great 4 rating in my book… Staff are extremely friendly and courteous. They are willing to help you with problem or questions that you may have. So if you are looking to stay a night or a weekend. Or however long you may stay. You will not be disappointed at all with your stay…

Im literally here right now and havnt slept at all theres a crazy lady with a dog running around fighting with some guy running around inside and outside and the guy from the front desk is standing in the hall im like you gna handle this he says im watching right now like dude do something people pay to sleep here some have jobs and work hard and this is horrible up side no bugs except my bathroom was swarmed with ants not to much of a bother sheets were clean TV works good place if crazy customers can take the issues else where seriously.

I would not recommend this location. The beds looked like the original beds and were soiled and the linens were ripped. Cigarette burn holes in the bedspreads. Just yucky over all. The manager was gracious in showing me several rooms before I found one that I thought was acceptable. The building was dilapidated and the roof shingles were laying in the parking lot. I normally can accept certain things for the price, but felt this was the worst Motel 6 I've stayed in. Very disappointed.

Not bad for an inexpensive hotel/motel. Would have been nice to have a continental breakfast, but they did have coffee. Maria at the front desk was very helpful handling a booking problem and we found the rest of the staff very friendly. Room could have been a little cleaner and there were no big bath towels. Most of them were the size of a hand towel. The pictures do not depict the condition of the hotel. Quite deceiving.

Gary and others at front desk were friendly and helpful. I believe it was the lowest total cost option in the area for 2 rooms (for me and my family of seven). My wife and children didn't like the very strong smoke smell in our non-smoking rooms, the long strand of hair they found in between the sheets of one bed, nor the cigarette burns on a blanket. However, other than not having a portico for unloading the car in the rain, I thought it was an okay value for the money with clean bathrooms, a good hot shower & hot cup of coffee. I might go back if by myself on business (but if my wife and/or kids are with me, we won't).

Think twice, thrice before staying! Contact the firemarshall for a weekly count on how many times they are called. Check public records with sheriff's office on weekly visits. The roof has been full of holes for 2 years plus and corporate rejects each bid to replace. It is common to walk in the front door and it smells like weed. Don't forget the prostitution going on either. And if you stay and see electrical cords in the hallway leading into a room with a large rug over it — the room is being treated for bedbugs! And finally, no breakfast. You can have coffee. Pay the extra to stay a few doors down if you want safety, cleanliness and breakfast. Those hotels even vakue you and have mini fridges and microwaves in the rooms.

Utilitarian. Low price. Crappy cable. No breakfast. Slow slow slow Wi-Fi.

Room was cheap but what we paid for. Pet friendly so we brought our pooch.

I do not recommend this at all. Stayed on 2/4/2016. Except for the location and ease of transport to GRR airport and 28th Street.

Walked into our room to find the beds not made and no new towels. Proceeded to tell front desk to make the beds with clean sheets for us and they never did. Youre better off sleeping on the streets.

Update: After being in the motel for 4 nights, only the first day was really that bad. The cleanliness of the room improved on the second day after housekeeping was able to catch up from the weekend. For a basic, inexpensive room, I am happy with the stay and am upgrading my review to 4 stars weighted on cost vs. Quality. It's really a good value for a.

Worst motel I have ever stayed in. Verbal argument going on at motel entrance where motel worker expressed her fear and called police to break it up. She noted that often times motel was used by drug users but never saw it this out of had. Was given key to a room that had luggage and personal items in it. Went back to desk and was given a different room. That room had one bath towel for me and my wife. Front desk reported that there were no other bath towels to be had. Switch on light by bed did not work. Light in corner of room was also not working. Some event was going on in Grand Rapids that weekend, so no other place had a room. Would have been better off sleeping in the car at the near by Meijers parking lot! New motto should be "we'll keep the lights off for you. "

Avoid room 203 not sure what happened there before my wife and I checked in but it couldn't have been good. We checked into the hotel ran up threw our bags in and went out around GR for the day. When we got back to the room around 11 pm or so we went up to our room and discovered the horror of this room. It smelled of mold so strongly you could barely breathe and there was blood stains all over the bathroom toilet and walls. We quickly grabbed our bag went to the desk asked to check out and told the kid at the front desk who seemed like he could care less if we stayed or not that we wanted a refund. At that point he said the mgr would have to do that and he would have him call us. Something that still hasnt happened and we stayed there a week ago. All in all you couldn't pay me to step foot in that place again it was DISGUSTING and should be ashamed of itself.

Not necessarily a bad hotel. The only problem is there's ALWAYS a kid on the computer. All day, everyday on Facebook. The staff isn't very polite at all. There's one girl (Anna I think) at the front desk that's very sweet though.

I didn't like it. I felt like the room was not very clean. When I was picking up to leave I found a condom under my bed, not mine. The bed was very unconforable, very springy. There was tiny baby pillows. Bathroom was way to small. The breakfast was horrible. The kitchen area was way to small. Also I went to attempt a shower this morning no hot water at all. I do not think I will return. But I guess u get what you pay for. Staffing in lobby very nice, polite.

Neighbors were loud and smoking pot, 2nd floor smelled like cigarettes. It was ok for the price and I only stayed there because all other hotels were full. You get what you pay for.

My experience was good. It is older and a little rough, but it is not a $100+ hotel and don't expect it to be. The staff was very helpful and I was most impressed by the breakfast service. Most hotels, including the high ends are extremely strict on time and don't keep it stocked even if it IS still breakfast hours. I went to one and at 20 min till end they had cereal and a couple pieces of bread. Not even milk. That night was $120. This place at 5 till not only refilled the milk but restocked everything for us and others coming in. When your up most the night with little ones, a 9am breakfast can be hard to get up for. This place knows service and will definitely stay here again.

Uncleanly. Would never stay here again. I would rather sleep in the car. Side security door does not lock. Entrance smells musty. Carpets were not vacuumed. Layers of dust on the alarm clock. Hairs in the bathtub. Gross.
