The Grand Rapids Holiday Inn was a great stay. They provided free breakfast from 6 to 10 a. M and refilled the food and drinks when they emptied. The rooms are very comfortable (in my opinion), it's a big building so you can't miss it, and it's near some big attractions like Michigan's Adventure. They also have a small indoor pool, which is nice. I rate the Grand Rapids Holiday inn 8/10.

It was poorly built. They also don't know how to schedule who gets which rooms very well. Put families with young kids on 1st floor, older kids and families on higher level. She to poor construction the walls and floors are thin. We could hear the people above us use toilet and flushes sounded like a waterfall at all hours next to our bed. The a. C. Unit sounded like a jet engine. Elephant stampede at all hours above us too. Not worth the cost. I will say location and breakfast people rocked. Pretty sure they have homeless people rigging doors to use free washer/dryer. Kinda sketchy.

This is the nicest, cleanest HIE I have been to thus far! I was warmly greeted by the young man at the front desk and he also gave me great information about the area (night life, restaurants, etc. ). My room was on the third floor and it was very clean and comfortable. The bed was firm but I appreciate that with the best pillows ever! I slept so good that I didn't make it to the free breakfast the next morning! I will most definitely stay here again when I come back to Grand Rapids area :)

Great hotel! Very clean and friendly staff. First hotel I didn't feel it necessary to wear my shoes through out the room or after a shower. Pool was clean hot tub worked great and again clean. Breakfast was pretty good. Our room looked just like the pictures shown. We were on the first floor so not sure if other rooms are as nice or updated but I was very happy with our stay. Only thing that could change is the bathroom needs an exhaust fan, it would definitely save the hotel money down the line and keep the moisture from ruining walls and fixtures. I highly recommend this hotel and will stay there again if in the area.

I was very pleased with my stay. I was in a suite and it was spacious, clean, new carpet, great water and pressure. Coffee, fridge and microwave in the room. The free breakfast was over the top great. Everything looked fresh and tasted good. I'd recommend it.

Room readily available. Clean. Comfortable bed. Good breakfast. Courteous and helpful staff. Can't ask for much more when staying in a hotel. I've stayed a lot of places all over the US. This is definitely one I would stay in again.

Good location near shopping and lots of restaurants. Big room, newer bathroom fixtures, fridge, no microwave. Staff is friendly enough. Parking is adequate and well-lit.

The location of the hotel was great. It was close to restaurants and shopping and to I96. The staff was friendly and the lobby and pool area were very clean. The room itself was clean enough, not immaculate by any means. My complaints are the breakfast, which was free so I can't complain that much, was nothing more than ok. The pancake machine was broken both mornings of my stay and the eggs were just bad. It was your typical free hot breakfast fare. The bedding in the room was not adequate. It's thin and not very warm, so I kept the heat on high which was very noisy. My biggest complaint was my room location. I reserved the room months ago and I'm a woman staying alone which I would assume was obvious from the reservation, yet I was put on the ground floor in an isolated corner of the hotel. There are only a handful of rooms on the ground floor, otherwise there's staff areas and the pool. The view out of my window was a pile of trash and leaves on a cement pad. I'm a small city girl staying alone in a big city, and I was fearful staying in the back of the hotel with an easily accessible window to the outside with no one near me.

Let me say that I’ve stayed at many Holiday Inn Express over the years. Typically the beds at holiday inn are very comfortable. The beds at this location need a major upgrade. I asked front desk if they had different beds and they said no. Not sure why the beds here haven’t been upgraded. Imagine laying on a piece of ply wood with a mattress cover on it. That’s exactly how they are. I’m sad to say I won’t be back the next time I travel this way for business.

Absolutely beautiful place food at jacks was so delicious. My waitress was so sweet. Great place to stay all around just beautiful.

Was in the basement room across from a meeting room. Despite this, I heard no noise the whole time. Room was very clean. Bathroom could use a few newer fixtures (particularly toilet). Bed was quite uncomfortable and left me with back pain I needed to stretch out each morning. Pool and hot tub, as well as gym area seemed nice and I never saw a single person in either. I'm definitely packing my suit next time. There was a washer and dryer to use as well. Check in and out was simple. Staff was very friendly and accommodating. Breakfast was standard fare but everything was good and hot and clean and kept stocked well. If the bed was more comfortable this could've been a 5 star review.

Room was amazing. Location is perfect with shopping all around. Counter staff was great. Breakfast was good. Zero complaints at all. Will stay again if in Grand Rapids.

We recently stayed at the Holiday Inn in Grand Rapids after attending a hockey game. Although the hotel looked nice, it wasn't maintained. In order to flush the toilet, you had to hold down the handle the entire time. The outlet did not work in the bathroom, so trying to get ready was a challenge while letting the family sleep. Lastly, the smoke alarm went off during breakfast and continued for about 30 minutes when we finally left. The staff did tell someone nearby that it was a false alarm, and we luckily heard this. Just wasn't the best we've stayed at.

Good price. Comfortable rooms, best complementary breakfast compared to all the other like kind hotels.

Overall great experience. The rooms were clean and modern. The bed was very comfortable and had two types of pillows, firm or soft. We stayed on a busy Saturday and the hotel was very quiet. There are several places nearby to eat and drink. The hotel is off the main road which is nice because there is less traffic.

My daughter was married on July 29th and all of the guests were from out of town and state. We had rooms reserved all over grand rapids. I made a reservation for two members of my family at the holiday inn north. I came in on Friday to the 28th to just confirm that my reservation was could be put under my brothers names since I would be with my daughter the next day. Holly was wonderful and took care of it for me. I also dropped off the gift bag for one brother but had forgotten the other one. I returned on Saturday morning with the labeled gift bag and doubled checked that everything was set. The gift bags contained the shuttle information for the day. Today I received a phone call from my brother saying that his credit card had been charged for the room. I called the hotel to see what had happened. They said that they had not split the payment and had put a credit on my card. There has been no credit to my card. In order for my brother to get his credit, they needed to charge my credit card again. I gave them my card information so that my brother would get his credit, I am trusting that the credit will be put on my card and not just another 200.00 charge. I also found out today that neither of my family members were giving the gift bags that were left for them. I also found out that they had to drive to the venue because the did not get their shuttle information.

Generous accomodations, somehow quiet environment despite nearby busy roads, friendly and helpful staff, cleanly, great experience all around. You'll get your moneys worth. Will consider in the future.

Outstanding service! My wife and I were in town for a wedding, which started at 2. Check in timecwas/is 3. I called the night before and asked if it would be possible to check in earlier. I was advised to call the next morning. Did as instructed and we were able to check in early with out problem! Excellent location and many dining options available. Top notch breakfast in the morning as well.

Nice quiet area for a hotel but excellent because shops a movie theatre and restaurants not too too far away. (Walkable if you like a good walk) Hotel was clean and the room very comfortable. Internet was very fast and easy to connect to. Nice selection of breakfast items for such a small hotel and the lady who manages restocking the buffet in the mornings was a sweetheart. The front desk staff was courteous and quick upon check in and offered an express check out option. The only reason I gave four stars is the walls are a little thin and I was unfortunate enough to have a couple fighting next door of course not the hotels fault but I like to write a full review. Thank you for having a designated smoking area with a bench. I would recommend this hotel for a nice comfortable stay.

Our entire family stayed here for our son's wedding weekend and we were all VERY PLEASANTLY SURPRISED! Our rooms were clean and roomy, the beds were comfortable and the staff went above and beyond to accommodate us! Whatever we needed, they were there (whether it was a sewing kit, stapler or an extra cinnamon bun or two to go)! And speaking of cinnamon buns, the "continental breakfast" was INCREDIBLE! Thanks especially to Holly for her sunny disposition and help with details! We will be back!

Reallynice place to stay in. They have a pool, spa. A lot of plase with food around, even AMC. 5-7 min from Grand Rapids. Stauff is really friendly. Rooms are modern, clean. Everything is working. I liked it. Thanks!

Loved the location never to shopping and food. The rooms are clean, spacious and comfortable. The service was amazing! The pool and jacuzzi were clean and devine! Loved the workout room too!

The hotel was convenient, they had an updated room that was extremely comfortable, and a Continental breakfast that was more extensive than we expected! We wanted a relaxing night out and that's exactly what we got!

Nice place with bad management. Make sure to check your bills to verify they overcharged you. But don't bother to call them, they will not return your money. But if you dare to initiate the dispute through your credit card company, they will most likely come up with something on the fly and accuse you that you smoked in the room (doesn't even matter if you don't smoke).

The free Wi-Fi network they offer apparently blocks my ability to connect to my office network, making it where I cannot work, which pretty much defeats the purpose of my stay entirely. I was also charged almost $200 on my card when I was told there were no holds being made for incidentals. 3 stars for cleanliness and nice-ish room, other than that I am very annoyed.

Nice place to stay. I have traveled quite a lot over the last several years for work. This Holiday Inn is the nicest hotel I have stayed at. It has been recently updated, all of the heating/cooling devices work quietly, beds are comfortable and it is a very safe location. Nicole at the front desk always has a smile and happy greeting. Cameron is the manager and will do his best to make your stay comfortable.
