Terrible! The room had cracks in the ceiling and chipped paint and unpainted patches on the walls. They allow pets in all the rooms and the stench was so bad I got sick. They offered to move us to a different room but the card machine was broke to make key cards. The front desk person had to run around the hotel letting guests in their rooms. The pool and spa was closed and the note on the door said they had been shut down by the health department. We ended up leaving and going to stay somewhere else. We got the room for a good price but ended up paying double because we got a room elsewhere. I would not recommend this hotel to anyone!

I’m giving this a 3, only because of how amazing the staff is! The kid, Dalton is absolutely amazing and SO helpful! Family has been coming to this hotel for years when I’m the area, and sadly it has declined ALOT! Needs more updating. Had dirty sheets when we checked in, mold on the curtains and other minor things. Not to mention, we had trouble with our keys EVERY SINGLE TIME we came back to our room. Was told their being bought out so hopefully it’ll get a major facelift.

Best thing about this motel is the staff they go above and beyond! Amber, Beth, Kelsey, cassie, Tanya and the little girl Amy who does breakfast all week she always makes sure I have hazelnut creamer even Cory is great lol and he's a bossman. I've never come across a rude person here. The rates are reasonable it's a dated motel but the price kinda makes up for it. Get your hot tub fixed I hurt…

DO NOT STAY HERE! First, the front desk gave us not only 1, but 2 sets of keys that didn’t work for our room. On the 3rd try she switched our room to a different one. Keys worked. At 4:10am, a random stranger comes into the room looking thinking it was his “wife and baby’s” room but would not immediately leave when asked. After we got him out we quickly packed our things and left. The front desk had no explanation for what happened and did nothing about the issue. Stay anywhere else.

People are very nice. I’ve had to ask for towels twice and my room wasn’t cleaned one day. Housekeeping person on 3rd floor very slow. I saw her cleaning rooms at the far end of hall in the morning by 1:00 still hadn’t got down to our half. We left at 1:30 came back at 5:00 our room wasn’t touched and she’d gone home for the day. Breakfast is ok nice assortment. Check dates on milk cartons we got two sour ones. Everyone is very apologetic for the problems.

I'm only giving this one star because I have to. I booked 4 rooms threw this hotel. Asked numerous times about the pool. And was never told once that it wasn't opened. I mentioned is as coming with 6 kids and they never thought it was nessacery to inform me of the pool not working. Breakfast was cold and the biscuits were dry and not cooked at all. The next morning I had to go and ask for more towels. They told me they were out and that the housekeepers had them all. No big deal so I went to find the cart. No carts anywhere. It was almost 1pm before anyone came to ask if I needed more towels. My sister in law asked for more towels and the front desk gentleman said *oh someone else already asked for towels I don't know where I'm going to get anymore". The air conditioner in our room barely worked. And the air conditioner in the hallway was leaking water so bad it was all the way into the hallway. And when told front desk about it the response was. "Yes I was informed of that this morning". No way he was going to make it better or to fix it. I traveled over 11 hours to come stay here and was not impressed at all. I had to drive my kids across town to take my children swimming. Also very dirty in hallways and parking lot I There was a dirty diaper in he parking lot. Rotten apples. Terrible will be calling the BBB after the holiday. To many problems and no way to fix them.

Stayed in room 303 the door wouldn’t close so had to put the dead bolt on then when we went to leave unlocked the dead bolt and guess what we were stuck in our room. Called front desk she came up and couldn’t open it either. After about 15mins it opened and the worker said they were told not to rent this room cause of that. What a safety hazard on the 3rd floor glad there was no fire. They did give us a different room. The Pool also shut down had to drive across town to go. The lady staff was very nice checking in and through out ate stay. The men staff wasn’t so friendly checking out didnt ask us who are stay was or anything.

Very nice staff. Breakfast was pretty good. Definitely needs to work on maintenance. The pool and hot tub are closed because they need to replace the door to the pool area. The door that connects your room to the next room doesn't lock. We had some one try to come into our room at 630am, still haven't figured out who.

Rooms werent as nice as expected. Needs upgraded. Pool was shut down by Enviromental Agency. Only gave you two small towels in your room. No wash clothes or hand towels. Had to go ask for more. Had three people staying in our room. Beds not the best. Price was reasonable.

Door keys didn't work right out of the gate. Got in finally. Went to use the restroom and 1 of the 2 tp spools was empty. No biggie really. Bar of used soap left in the tub and one of 2 queen beds was dirty but made up. Not staying the 2nd night here. Going to find another hotel to stay in tomorrow night.

Staff were nice up to a point. Had billing issues and they did nothing to make it right. Had to spend my own time and effort to fix their screw up. Will never go back and I’ll make it a point to tell others not to go.

Had to go down stairs 3 tines to get a working room key. No apology. Attendant could careless. Sub-standard room. I wouldn’t recommend.

Been here off and on for past 2 years. Wonderful place. Always clean and the staff are great. They go above and beyond to make sure you have a great visit. They will even get you bottled water at 3am if you feel parched. Great place and I will definitely visit again.

Quite run down. Pool and hot tub area was a disaster. Room want bad at all. Didn't eat breakfast. Was very cheep.

The room itself was nice. The lobby was nice. The elevator was a bit scary. It looks like they're in the process of redoing the hotel, and it has lots of potential. Would stay again.

Came in early in the morning at 3 and they helped so much it was like we got a night free. The front desk lady made breakfast early so we could eat because there wasnt anywhere open. I am so greatful the employees are so helpful and truly cares about your comfort. I will stay here from now on. Thank you guys for being awesome. Ellie is an outstanding employee who goes goes that extra mile she helped us so much.

The place was attractive outside. The rooms were nicely decorated and functional, but there were a few items that needed some maintenance. The breakfast was adequate, but below the norm for this priced hotel. The staff was all courteous, friendly and helpful. Overall, It was about 10% overpriced, for the value received.

Nice so far! Can't wait to hit that Jacuzzi later on. Great breakfast each morning!

The pictures are devious. This hotel has no good qualities including the staff. It is in a run down area and only restaurant was Mexican and it also was terrible. Room was dirty and mold in shower. Glad my wife wasn't with me. Staff was rude the check in process took 30 min. They overbooked and we're sending people elsewhere. Carpet frayed and just old and un-kept. On a good note Wi-Fi was good and breakfast bar was good they gave bottles of water at breakfast bar which was nice.

For $110 for one night. This was not worth the money. A. C. In our room was not working. We sweated all night… told the guy up front which didn't do much good. He was very nice but didn't offer a different room or anything and when we first got there we had to ask for towels. They were suppose to go up with them but when we got back after our concert there were no towels. I don't recommend wasting your money here.

It was nice for one night. The staff was very nice, beds were comfortable and clean. Ceiling and walls had patch marks from what looked like a leak in the room above. Pool and hot tub were both out of order. I would stay again but I think for the condition of the hotel $84 was too much money.

Room was musty and AC Smelled of Mildew. Sheets had stains. On the plus side staff was friendly and accommodating and the coffee was good… but. Will not be staying again.

In a good location, room smellt kinda weird, staff is nice, and bed is comfortable, pillows are horrible, all in all not a bad hotel, will be staying there again.

Very satisfied with the staff very clean rooms stop eager to help with questions in my opinion they went out of their way to give us very satisfying experience staying with them.

Experience with front desk staff check in was BAD to say the very least. Otherwise the rest of the experience and room was decent and served our needs. The check out staff the next day was great, but the girl at check in was not wearing a uniform or name tag, and was terrible. All other staff was very pleasant.

It was dirty, it smelled horrible, only one of the outlets worked in the room, the ironing board was missing which didnt matter because the iron was broken, there was hair from a previous guest still in the shower and a used hand towel hanging from the shower head. Then to top all of that off at 2 in the morning there was some loud and inappropriate talking in the room next to us and they kept trying to open the door that ajoined the two rooms. When we called the front desk they said they would take care of it but after another 15 min of this we called again and were told that if it got any worse to let him know because he had to start getting breakfast ready. I exploded and said that they needed to go or we did. Just the worst hotel stay I have ever had. If 0 stars were posdible that would be what tbey would get. Never again.

Friendly staff and relatively clean rooms for an old motel, it's a bit run down, but the staff tries hard to keep it up. Nice variety of Breakfast options. Comfortable bed, ckean sheets, fridge and microwave.

I havent stayed here yet. I made a reservation and called to question outbreak in bed bugs in the hotels in that area and the man who answered was very rude and very short. And couldnt offer any information on if there was or was not bed bugs — he stated he has not heard of bed bugs and they clean rooms daily and then I stated there are pictures showing in November of 2015 bed bugs and he said well if so then im sure its taken care of… BUT YOU DONT KNOW? GET YOUR EMPLOYEES ON THE SAME PAGE PEOPLE!

I felt comfortable staying here. I was here for most of 3 weeks, except for the weekends. It is generally quiet, although on my last stay of 2 nights I was booked into room 107 (? ). This room is close to the elevator, next to the pool and right behind the ice and pop machines. It wasn't too bad though, not bad enough to ask for another room. The staff is always nice and helpful. My expectations of hotels are as follows: Can I get some rest here, do I feel safe here and do I feel welcomed here? Unless I am booking a resort for vacation stays, I don't spend a lot of money on hotel rooms. I'm not looking to buy the place, so if the hotel is reasonably priced and located, I'll take it. Some reviewers act as if every hotel room they stay in should be judged on resort class standards, even though they are not paying much for the room. I'm quite sure that I will be staying in Ottumwa again in the near future, and I will be booking here. BTW, me giving this hotel 4 stars, does NOT indicate that it is a 4 star resort, lighten up travelers.

It gets a star only because you have to rate it. This is the biggest dump I've ever stayed in. Scratch marks on furniture, carpet tearing up and the shower curtain rod is holding on with its last breath. And staff is a real bundle of joy as well. Will never stay here again.

Took a shot on a hotwire deal and lost big time. This was (poorly) converted from an old Fairfield Inn, but certainly was not updated. I was put in a handicap room, despite the fact that I don't require it. The room smelled like a dentists office. The shower was a hand held wand, and the nub that holds it on was broken off, so it was just hanging in the tub. When I mentioned this to the staff, they didn't seem too concerned about me, although they assured me that they would put in a maintenance request so it would be fixed for the next guy. The rooms are small and not all that comfortable. I do not recommend this hotel at all!

We stayed here last night, and while the rooms were decent and the employees we encountered were good, our credit card we used to book the rooms ended up being charged TWICE! And we paid with cash upon checkout! We even had a conversation with the front desk clerk to make sure NOT to charge our card!

I was in a room on the 3rd floor and when I walked in the room, the smell of smoke was strong. It was late, so I didn't asked to change rooms. The air conditioner didn't work well and the room felt about 80 degrees. When I told the front desk the next morning, the desk person told me that the third floor had been the smoking floor before they went all non smoking. The carpet was orange and pulled up at the door way. The door frame had a shim at the lock and was very difficult to open. The pillows smelled like body odor and the linens were rough. By the time I left, I was itching all over. Not sure if there were bedbugs or by that time, I was just feeling not clean. I would not stay there again, nor would I recommend it to others. Very disappointed in the stay.

Hotel is horrendous. Arrived to find out that they don't have suites at all as they advertise. I booked through Priceline and was looking for a 2 room suite because am traveling with 2 small children. Called the hotel directly before booking and asked if the room was indeed a 2 room suite — and was told yes. Confirmed and booked. Arrived to find a king bed a sofa sleeper in same room — when I brought issue to front desk she basically said too bad, deal with it. So here we are — baby sleeping in bathroom area, toddler on sofa sleeper and us in the dark at 7:30pm. Hotel itself is gross. Pool water is grey green color. They have the doors open to outside at the indoor pool and the water temp is about 95. Tiles falling off walls. It's just disgusting. Would never recommend this place to anyone.

I stay here when I'm in town in business and I have to say this is a gem. Clean, quiet, friendly staff! Sometimes I can even sneak a little breakfast out before six am since I'm on the road at about quarter till. I suppose the only real complaint I have is that the hot tub wasn't very hot, but it's no deal breaker.

Cheap, clean, friendly staff, comfortable beds, and great breakfast. I was very glad I stayed here on the spur of the moment trip. They made it :).

Rooms were clean, Staff was very friendly. It had a good atmosphere, I would recommend this hotel good prices and a great breakfast bacon eggs sausage biscuts and gravy, heated pool and spa.

Don't stay here! Upon arrival (yes, we were almost 2 hours early), we were denied an early check in by the extremely unfriendly girl at the front desk. When asked if we were trying to check in, we told her yes, and she responded with "You didn't get the memo? check in is at 3:00, none of our rooms are clean) So, this joint has 4 cars in the parking lot, but all their rooms are still dirty from check outs that happened 3 hours earlier? We came back later that evening to check in, this girl was a lot friendlier but very under trained on how to perform her job. I was staying for one night only. Was charged for 2 nights, TWICE! Luckily, I decided to check my checking account while I was in the lobby, and was able to get her to reverse the charges. Upon check out the next day we discovered how badly she had screwed up. My room was billed to another guests card, and that other guests room was billed to my card. They had to completely re-run my card for my one night stay. I had mentioned what happened when we tried to check in early, and the girl that cleans the room told me she had all the rooms clean prior to 1:00 PM and we could have checked in early. 5 days after check out, I get an email notification from my bank that I have NSF fees. Why? because they hit my card again for two more nights, 5 days after I checked out. This is the worst experience I have ever had with a hotel.

Awesome people. And really friendly.
