Very clean place, and I should know since I am a Housekeeping leader in a hospital out of the area. I could not find a thing wrong with our room. The front desk staff and housekeepers were very friendly and helpful with our requests for extra towels and a few trash bags. They never made me feel like I was asking for something they didn't want to give us. Breakfast had a good selection, the scrambled eggs were not rubbery or dry, like some places can be. The beds are comfortable and I checked our room for bed bugs did not find any or any evidence of any from the past. As you can see I can not say enough good things about my stay. I will be staying here again.

After being stranded in Ankeny Iowa after historic 10 inches of rain and the city flooded out with no way home. I spoke with Lexie at the desk on Saturday night June 30. Of course there were no rooms in the city. She knew the horrible situation we were in. She invited us to come stay and sit in their lobby gave us blankets, towels and pillows. There were also two other people that she allowed in. Ensured that we had breakfast the next morning. What a caring young lady this was. Highly recommend and I will stop again. Thank you so much Lexie.

Nice, clean hotel with friendly and helpful front desk staff. Easy access to I-35.

Stayed here on the night before my brothers graduation. They gave us a special rate for family members of students attending FBBC. Nice, clean hotel. Comfortable beds. No complaints.

Motel overall nice. Mattress terrible. Knob to hot tub broken. Continental breakfast good.

Updated and a nice place. Convenient location to still get downtown or other locations around Des Moines. Business traveler, frequent guest.

Check-in was a breeze. Room was clean and bed was comfortable. Pool was open at 7, which was great when the 7 year old woke up at 6. Breakfast was tasty and had a lot of variety.

For starters the entire hotel looks and feels clean. That's good. Secondly, the front desk was incredibly helpful and accommodating. Thirdly, we stayed two nights and our room was cleaned while we were out the first day and it was spotless. Finally, the breakfast was amazing with both plenty of hot and cold options! If I come back to Ankeny, I'll definitely stay here!

Rooms are well apportioned. Friendly service. Pool and pool room was frigid.

Originally scheduled for 11 Nights, but checked out after 3 nights. The reasons were; wasn't recognized by status check in by Jamie and poor customer service,  HARD Beds, outdated furniture,  window air units do not keep temperature well (at least in my room), missed wake up call, and the biggest of all 1980s Internet speed. I will stop there. Since traveling for business and doing online education the internet here is lacking terribly! I could not function with the speeds and after Monday about 1900 on, could hardly even connect to read the email. Don't even think you can stream Netflix or Pandora. When I told them I was leaving early, not even a why was asked. The breakfast was the same freebies and I did use the amenities. I will not return, depending on your destination, I would highly suggest the brand new Fairfield Inn & Suites Des Moines Urbandale off  interstate 80E/W it is night and day the difference. I will review that separately. For those that gave this 5 circles, I wonder how much you have travelled and where you have been too. This is NOT a 5 circle hotel. Overall, a great visit. My only complaints are that the parking lot it a bit small and tight.

Clean rooms, but the bed was hard as a rock. Requested a king bed, but they gave us a double.

Nice and clean and get all basics I need (Refrigerator, microwave, TV, hair dryer). Wifi works well. Breakfast is good enough.

Room was great, employees were great, breakfast was great. Overall had a wonderful time.

Not the best customer service esp. At the front desk. Great breakfast — sausage, eggs, bacon, waffles, yogurt, etc. Clean rooms. I'll return but hopefully they improve their service by then.

Great location Staff was very nice and the rooms were comfortable, clean, and everything worked perfectly. Breakfast was great with a very nice variety, coffee could have been hotter but it was good. My only complaint is that the pool and hot tub area were way too cold. My kids wouldn't get in the pool, the hot tub wasn't warm let alone hot and didn't seem to be working, which is a shame because my kids were very excited to go swimming. We even planned our trip so the kids would have extra pool time.

Run of the mill Fairfield. Still way nicer than most hotels, though.

I stayed here first weekend of April 2016 with my 3 year old daughter. The staff was friendly, and always smileing. Everytime My daughter walked by they would say hello to her. The breakfast was a good variety of food, even with my daughters severe allergies she was able to find enough food to eat. I would stay here again :) and the remodel is beautiful.

Nice hotel, as of my stay they were in the middle of renovations which detracted from the night I spent. Overall I would stay again.

Renovation happening and rooms smelled like paint, front desk — Amber was very nice and helpful. Customer service was exceptional.

We stayed there before, and it was great. This most recent time, the room smelled like paint (they are remodeling (December 2015) ) but the front desk (great job Amber) handled it perfectly, she was one of the nicest person you could meet.

We found bed comfortable, AC operational, pool is nice, plenty of outlets. Staff very pleasant.

I spent a full week in this hotel for business Dec 2013 and had the king suite. The room was amazing! The bed was comfortable, room was clean. The room had two TVs along with DirecTV! The staff was very friendly too, especially Joice who worked at night. She was awesome.

Nice room. Comfortable bed. Good amenities. But the internet is really slow and the cable keeps freezing, skipping, and jumping (and never during commercials. Go figure).

Have stopped to get a room here twice and both times there was no one at the desk.

The accommodations at this hotel are great! The rooms are clean, tastefully decorated and fresh. The breakfast is good! Jim and his staff are great and helped with any questions. I will always try a Fairfield Inn when I travel to other cities based on my stay in ANkeny.

I checked in, went to dinner only to return a half hour later realizing the Cable TV doesnt work. I went to the front desk for help and the desk man told me "sorry i'll look at it tomorrow. " I was only staying 1 night. I found a reservation at another hotel and when I went to checkout after having been there less than an hour the guy told me he was going to charge me for the room! "Its probably messy" so I made him go to the room with me and had to show him that I hadnt touched the sheets, etc. Etc. I'm a marriott Rewards member staying 2 or 3 nights every week and this is how I was treated.

Stayed for one night and in the morning could not find my gold wedding band. Informed the night accountant who said he would advise housekeeping. Called later that morning (5 Oct) and the desk clerk said she would check personally. She called in 10 minutes saying the ring had been found and would be mailed to my home. She had to call my wife to get my number. This is why I always stay at Marriott.
