We checked in and there was a few different groups of people outside. No issues. We left to go too my sons baseball game. When we got back there were groups of people outside again. When we checked in we got settled in. It was already after 10pm. The people above us were being very loud and stomping etc. At 11pm my son went to the front desk (I broke my toe earlier during the day so walking is rough right now). He told them about our issue, the guy said ugh well I’ll see what I can do. Around midnight it was still happening so my son called the front desk and again explained the issue in which they said they would again talk to guest. At 2am I was fed up — I called the front desk and told them it’s 2am this is now the 3rd time we are calling to complain about the people above us. This is getting ridiculous. They said they were taking care of it once again… at 3am it was still going on. Me and my 3 kids didn’t fall asleep until close to 4am and we were up by 8am. I am very disappointed in our stay. Between the large crowds walking around and hanging out in the parking lot and the lack of our issues being resolved we will not be staying in the future. I was really looking forward to our stay as I seriously called 20+ hotels in the area (within 20 mile radius) and I picked this hotel over others based on you guys having an open pool (we didn’t even get to use it, but we had baseball so not an issue), offered breakfast, and had a bigger room option.

If anyone is planning on traveling to the Chicago area I DO NOT recommend anyone to stay at the Country Inn and Suites in Zion. It’s a complete joke. Not only do they allow their guests to fight at 3 am in the hallways but they also allow guests to smoke pot in the hotel. I understand it’s legal in this state but when it’s a non smoking hotel go the hell outside. They also like to cover the smell with febreeze and lie to say they didn’t smell anything.

We stayed at this hotel on Saturday night and saw a bug. Our room was also dirty and the front desk would not make any more cookies. We took a picture of the bug and showed the exterminator in our town. They confirmed it was a bed bug. The hotel is saying it was a spider… I am completely disgusted. We noticed the bug in the middle of the night. They have done nothing for us including a phone call.

The suite we were in had the smallest refrigerator I've ever seen. You have to basically sit on the floor to access it. My fiancé and I have stayed here twice, and both times the ice machine on our floor was out of order and the hot tub wasn't working. It was visibly dirty on the floor of the pool. The continental breakfast is nice if you are okay with a worker standing off to the side, watching you like a hawk as you make your plate. She even commented on how often I got up to get juice. She makes me very uncomfortable.

Mary Sherref made our stay amazing… from the second we walked in she called us by name and made every effort to make sure our stay was comfortable and that we had everything we needed… we had a family of 10 Adults and 2 children and we stayed for our Sons Navy Graduation … I can not thank you enough for giving us great service for such a memorable time in our lives.

The staff here, specifically maintenance, was extremely helpful during my visit. He went above and beyond by helping us get my diesel truck started, while simultaneously jumping other vehicles the cold weather was preventing from starting. It's good to see customer satisfaction driven workers. Anytime I'm in the area, I WILL be staying here. Thanks.

I love the housekeeping staff here! the front desk staff are awesome and friendly, maintenance is very professional and prompt to fix guest issues if one should arise. I love the continental breakfast there are lots of options! plus the indoor pool, hot tub, and workout rooms make this a great place to stay.

Had a great experience from checking in to checking out! Amazing customer service, Mary was so friendly and helpful. Us 6 girls were on our annual shopping having fun, we played games in the breakfast room. The rooms were nice, beds are firm.

First time staying here in Zion. Came down to visit family. Had two little kids staying with us, 5 and 8. A woman named Mary was extremely friendly. She talked to the kids. She got them fresh cookies. The kids really got a kick out of seeing her and talking to her. She is doing a wonderful job! Really nice lady and hotel.

Nice place good price. Love the fact its next to the State park. Does have some issues with older beds and fixtures. The door did not work quite right. The bathroom can did not work either. The staff was friendly and for the money it was good.

The staff upon check-in were very nice. But they failed to mention there was a pet fee. When I checked out she told me there was a pet fee. I paid in cash but then also had a charge to my debit card. She did not clarify that it would be per pet (2 dogs). My room also had torn up carpet and smelled of stale cigarette smoke. My family was camping near by, the weather was hot and my dogs get easily overheared so I was glad I stayed here. The breakfast was pretty good. My suggestion is update the rooms and make sure guests know about the pet fee.

After reading the reviews, I almost chose a different hotel. However, I'm glad we didn't. We had a very easy check-in, fantastic staff. Room was clean, comfortable, with plenty of towels. Kids really enjoyed the pool, I the hot tub, which was huge and could easily seat 10-12. Next morning the front desk gave us several. Vottles of shampoo when he had forgot ours. No problem she told us. They were here to help in any way. Very nice lady. Breakfast was your typical breakfast you would get at any hotel, but the lady that prepared it was absolutely wonderful and the best part of our whole stay. Never caught her name. But was very pleasant to assist us with anything. As I sat there with my wife and three daughters, she conversed with us and made us feel really important. Even getting us things so we didn't have to get back up from our table. Excellent customer service. It made our whole stayed wonderful and she alone boosted you from 4 to 5 stars. Thank you and we would come again when in this area.

Quiet, clean, friendly staff to serve. Breakfast are good. Facility in great shape, well taken care of. I can see why the family likes to stay there.

Mary at the front desk was awesome! She was so friendly and helpful. The cookies were delishes and we had an amazing stay. It was quiet and relaxing. Perfect hotel in the perfect location. I would highly reccomend this place!

Room was clean and organized, bed was a little close to the hvac unit, but not horrible. Breakfast has a good selection a few hot items, breads, fruit, waffle maker, etc.

Mary is a huge asset to this hotel! She made check in a breeze. This hotel is very pet and kid friendly. Our room is great. Free cookies in the lobby. Good Wi-Fi. Very pleased.

The entire staff is very polite. The room was clean when we checked in, and housekeeping asks if you need any toiletries replenished daily. Everyone is very accommodating.

If you need a place to lay your head, they will work with you, if you need anything above and beyond what they already have available in the rooms. They seem to work pretty hard to make you happy. We had some cousins that came into town and stayed there for a week. She was on dialysis and they actually were able to accommodate her by helping her set up a dialysis unit in the room. So I can't complain about them at all.

This was one of the best hotel's I've ever had the pleasure of staying in. The staff was super friendly, helpful and willing to do anything to help make your stay the best it could possibly be. The cleanliness of the hotel was super. Breakfast was one of the best I have ever eaten with at a hotel. I will definitely go back again when I am in the area, and would highly recommend this hotel to friends and family!

Terrible experience. I found a bed bug in the bed. While brining it to the attention of the receptionist another customer was waiting in the lobby and over heard the conversation. I assume the other customer was under the influence based on her behavior. This other customer began to harass to me by calling me racial names, a liar, and telling me to leave. At no point did the staff intervene or ask the other customer to control herself. I tried to follow up with management, left messages, but I never recieved a return phone call. Very disgusted by the whole experience overall.

I would definitely stay here again. There isn't one thing that I could complain about. All the staff were extremely friendly and able to answer all our questions.

The hotel was in a quiet location, about 15 minutes away from the event I attended in North Chicago. It was undergoing renovations, but was very clean and staff were courteous and helpful. My granddaughter loved the pool which was a perfect temperature.

It was a mini getaway for me and my Granddaughter, I had simply a lovely time. The whirlpool was exactly just what the doctor ordered. The room was lovely and cozy and the staff was excellent. A magnificent getaway.

We stayed here Oct 6 and 7th 2017. The staff was by far the kindest o have ever dealt with. It stated with a room upgrade because the room I booked was not quite ready. Breakfast was a regular ham and eggs good filling meal. We had been to great America getting back after pool close however they did allow us to use the hot tub and pool anyway. Truly great clean room. Everything was perfect. So to whom ever was working this weekend thank you for making our weekend getaway extra fantastic.

The over all was ok the front counter ladies were very pleasent. We stayed there Saturday night but I was a little disappointed with the window in room 202. When entering our room I went to open drapes and the window was broken (not the glass) it was the whole window that was out of the track and track was broke so the window just learned on the opening. I did go downstairs a report this matter right away and was told they are remodeling, I was not offered another room so needless to say having the air conditioner on just went out the window. I might give them another try because they were remodeling.

Room was clean. Refrigerator was not working the first day we checked in. By the next day, we had a new refrigerator that was in working order. Beds are comfortable and the front desk staff are friendly and attentive.

Clean hotel and friendly staff. Breakfast buffet was good with plenty of options. Complementary cookies were available when we checked in. Staff was knowledgeable about the area and happy to assist with information. Pool was nice and the room was spacious and nice. Close vicinity to Illinois Beach State Park.

We always stay at the Country Inn & Suites when we are in Zion, and the staff is wonderful! The room is large and comfy, and the staff makes sure our stay is as wonderful as possible. The free cookies at the front desk are great too :)

My kids and I had a wonderful weekend away here. The room was great, very clean and the beds were comfortable. Plus, they had two extra pillows in the closet which was nice. Tons of towels, coffee maker, small fridge and microwave, which is great for snacking boys. Grocery store is right across the street and downtown Zion is a short walk away. Pool and hot tub is fine… nothing spectacular but it was clean and the kids had fun! I would definitely stay there again.

We are using this hotel for the guests at our wedding on July 11th. Our main hotel ran out of rooms and this hotel is just down the road. The jury is still out on this hotel and I'll follow this review up with another one once our business with them is done, but here is where we are at so far. We blocked off ten rooms (the max they would allow) for the night of July 11th and 3 rooms for July 10th. Our guests started calling us and saying the hotel had no record of any rooms blocked at all. We called the hotel at night and the desk clerk told us to call back during the day. I called the next day and spoke to Greg (the manager) He was very professional and apologized for the initial mess up. He blocked out our rooms for us and assured us that our guests will be well taken care of. That's where we are as of today. Tune in after July 11th to see how it all works out.

The hotel and area are nice! The hotel is seriously understaffed though. Watch the price they quote you! mine was off by more than $20 at point of sale.
