Review of Viceroy Chicago 4*

Had an amazing time at this hotel as a COVID-responsible mini-vacation over 4th of July weekend. The rooms were beautiful, had excellent storage, and the entire hotel was clean — we felt great about their safety precautions. The location and amenities were also fantastic. The staff — especially Charles at the front desk, and Matt at the pool — were incredibly helpful and friendly. There were plenty of other amazing staff, but we didn’t catch their names. I’ll note the pool — which was luxuriously appointed with a phenomenal view — had a few COVID restrictions. There’s a limited number of deck spaces, and only 6 people can be in the pool at one time. There’s also a two hour limit. We were only turned away once, however, the actual pool was frequently full of kids and guests who weren’t particularly interested in sharing. The staff did an amazing job keeping everyone in line with the rules, but having an adult swim or a timed turnover to allow more people actually in the pool would be great. Last thing — we were incredibly impressed with Matt as he handled multiple issues at the pool caused by drunk and high, loud, selfish, and obnoxious guests. You dont frequently see that level of exceptional service in the face of such negatively. He minimized the disruption to other guests while effectively handling multiple tense situations. All that said, this really is a wonderful hotel and we felt genuinely cared for by the hotel and it’s staff. We loved the experience so much we extended our stay. We will — and can’t wait! — to visit again.
