No… I’ve stayed at many Chicago hotels for the SAME price; and this experience was not good — to say the least. To start, the 4” step up into the bathroom is marked with a small sign — but very easily forgotten or unnoticed. I’ve either stubbed my toes, or stepped off into a sudden rush face-plant into the close wall multiple times. The shower head is attached to the side of the wall in a way that only allows the water to spray outside the tub. So there is a fun game you can play of how much water has to spray into the bathroom before I can make sure the water is warm. And let me tell you that the bathroom is so small water WILL get on every inch of it. The room is possibly the tiniest hotel room I’ve ever had — even compared to ones in Europe. Our TV had issues and would not work correctly. And the “renovation” they have done is a cute attempt that stops outside of the hotel rooms themselves pretty much. Also, every time the elevator stops on your floor, there is an intense halting motion that makes you feel like you might die. So, no… I did not enjoy this hotel.

Fabulous hotel! Beautiful with modern art decor! Fabulous service! Valet parking (or parking garage around block in same building). Generous rooms. Booked a Handicapped Wheelchair accessible room and it actually was! Highly rated! (Walking distance to everything. Shopping. Cafes. Restaurants! ) Lincoln Park! ❤❤❤❤

The staff gave us a free upgrade from a single queen bed to a suite, and they were so so helpful when we were looking for restaurants and attractions nearby. The room was beautiful and the bed was so comfortable! There was convenient parking right behind the hotel in a mall garage that cost $27 a night as opposed to hotel valet parking, which was $40. Altogether a wonderful experience and I would recommend it to anyone.

Friendly little hotel in a nice neighborhood. Cool design in the lobby. Rooms are nicely redone, bathrooms clearly older. Cyrus at the Valet stand was superb, extremely friendly and helpful.

Good location Bus stop in front of the hotel if not at 25 my walk. Surrounded by shops and restaurants. Very friendly and helpful staff. Very large room with fridge and microwave. Own.

Cannot go on enough about this hotel. Perfect location, literally close to EVERYTHING you could want, very clean, awesome awesome decor!, close to the bus and L station, friendly staff… I could go on. The rooms are a little small, but how much time do you spend in your room? Our room had a window in the shower which was so nice! Gotta give a shout out to Big Mike! Always friendly, and always offering a hand to help us get around the city. We thought checking in would be a nightmare with it being on such a busy road, but the valet and the concierge worked fast, and helped us out, and it was a breeze. I had read the comments before how the hotel is noisy. Ya, it's old, old places are noisy. So, I purchased a small fan, and it kept all the noise out. This will definitely be the hotel we stay in when we visit again. Only down fall, no fridge in our room, and no microwave on site. They did offer to warm our food up in the employee break room however.

The hotel is located a 10-minute walk from the Dipoury station. The rooms are large, comfortable, and have a very good bedding, they also have a coffee machine, a fridge and a necessary ironing. However, some would need to be refreshed. The value for money is excellent at certain times, much less interesting to others. The area is very well furnished in restaurants and shops.

Booked because I had an amazing experience here last week and I’m in town for work often. Now I realize that my prior experience must have been a one off incidence. Upon entering the hotel for check in (late I do admit) I was informed that the hotel would have the water shut off for pretty much all of my stay, which meant that I couldn’t do the one thing I booked the room to do (which was take a nice shower in the morning). This is unacceptable, having no access to water means I can’t even use my toilet right now. Which is a major issue. Secondly, I booked a king room. And was placed in a tiny corner room, I can’t remember a single door slamming noise from my last stay, this is not the case this morning. Doors have been slamming all morning from all of the rooms located near mine. They need to have a device on the doors to prevent such nasty slamming sounds, now I can here what must be a drill or a vacuuum echoing throughout the walls. This has been awful, if I didn’t book with a third party that pays up front I would be demanding my money back. I would have rather slept in my car.

I loved the hotel. The ambiance was definitely Chicago. I was traveling alone so I had a room with a queen bed and it was the right size for me. The location is awesome. I decided to ride the train an take public transportation and didn't have any issues getting to and from the station. The area provides so many little gems that you would have to take multiple visits to just visit them all. I will be making this my go to hotel whenever I stay in Chicago.

Fantastic location, seems this place has been recently remodeled with a hip vibe and small but comfortable rooms. Valet parking is the only parking option at the hotel but the century a block away has less expensive secure parking. Only negative of my stay was the elevator was not operating and the third floor stair access was locked for a bit which required a bit of wandering to figure out how to access the third floor using service stairs.

The staff was super friendly and helpful! The hotel has a cute, fresh design! It's a half hour walk to Boystown and is smack in the middle of a great trendy neighborhood. Everything you'd need is right there! We will definitely be back!

The lobby is beautiful and staff are very nice. It is a GREAT location for the area (Stans Donuts is next door and a must to visit! ) The rooms are quaint but on the small side. For the price, it is a great place to go to if you want to do stuff nearby.

Stayed for one night. We originally had a queen but updated to a king which I was really happy with. The staff was super friendly but really loved the bed. Super comfy. The environment was pretty amazing too. Would definitely come back again.

Good: Great location and a great looking hotel. Stylish rooms, comfortable place. Strange: They offer a continental breakfast, but you have to walk down the street to The Original Pancake House to get it. Weird. Huh? : No vending machines anywhere in the building. If you want a soda or a snack, you have to walk to Walgreens.

We had a great experience at Hotel Diversey! We booked a room with two full beds that had a city view. The room was bigger than expected — Plenty of room for four women to get ready comfortably. The front desk was helpful with bringing up more supplies as needed. My only complaint would be that the walls between the room and the hallway are thin. You can hear any/everything happening in the hall. I would stay again!

Very nice, updated and clean hotel. Free Wi-Fi. Close to shops and restaurants. I prefer hotels where the have a restaurant inside, that's the only reason I didn't give it 5 stars. But great location.

Ok. I thought this place was so cool! The art was awesome. Even in their elevator. The room was good size. The bathroom was small. But everything was very clean. Their beds are awesome and I need to call them because whatever pillows they have, I NEED! No joke. Best sleep I've had in awhile while at a hotel. But very unique place and from what I saw not bad pricing last minute. They were awesome and very helpful. Right around the corner from Douglas J which was awesome.

Newly refurbished Hotel. Decorated with a modern-urban style, very nice.
Reception staff very good. Large room with the necessary to stay overnight.
Although it is located outside the loop it is very well connected. Area with a lot of life, supermarkets, restaurants etc.
Would definitely go again if we visited Chicago.

The hotel has been beautifully renovated and is just fantastic on so many levels. It's in the heart of one of the best neighborhoods in Chicago with plenty to do just steps away! The staff is exceptional and the level of service they provide is rare in today's climate. Hotel Versey is absolutely and undeniably a gem from location to facility and especially, the 5star staff!

Overall we really enjoyed our stay! We loved the valet service and the hotel staff were very friendly and helpful. Location was nice too, walking distance from lots of fun boutiques! Only the business rooms have a mini fridge and microwave though. Dissapointed that there was no complimentary coffee/tea bar. Or breakfast of any sort.

Nice, hip hotel in the heart of Lakeview. Clean white paint job with one wall of vivid wallpaper as depicted in the photos, comfortable bed. Hotel has had a quick makeover of an old building so there's step-up to the bathroom, a tiny toilet, and a somewhat feeble shower, but who cares? You're not living there, and the location, location, location is great. Pleasant, personable staff.

A good Hotel a little high prices and they don't include breakfast.

Fairly nice hotel in the middle of a vibrant neighborhood. Rooms were clean with cool artwork, but pretty run of the mill aside from the wall coverings. Overall would recommend this hotel if you find yourself in this part of the city.

Good location. Parking sucks. The parking garage nearby only has 150 spaces and was always full. The hotel has been renovated and has some fun decor, both in the lobby and rooms. My room was on the second floor overlooking the street, and it was really loud at times overnight. But the beds were comfortable and the room was spacious. Nice bathrooms.

Very nice, clean rooms. Most of the hotel staff was very friendly. As a word of caution, when you check in, they will try to add a 40% (of your reservation total) charge to your card at check in as security deposit. They did not tell me before this happened and it turned the fraud alert on for my bank account. Very nice location, and nice overall experience.

Artsy interior. Great location for food and can access public transit right outside the door. The signs outside say its a new hotel and just finished renovation. That would explain the odd smell in the hallways. This isn't a complaint against the hotel itself, but why are the controls for every shower everywhere completely different? Shouldn't such a thing be uniform? I spent a good 10 minutes figuring out the shower controls the very first day.

Tremendous location and great value. Would have 5 stars but elevator was broken and steps are not for me. Huge room, wall mounted flat screen. My room had fridge, coffee maker and safe. Huge room. Walk to a couple dozen restaurants and other retail. Close to everything. Recently renovated as walls didnt have a mark on them. Comfortable beds and good shower. I will definitely stay here again.

This hotel has been recently refurbished and has a lot going for it. It's located in Diversey Park which is a little far away from downtown. Pros: — Good location with lot of eating joints nearby — Gives you free access to a gym nearby (although there isn't one in the hotel itself) — Rooms are nice and well maintained. I loved the design and the make over of the rooms. Very cool — The staff is very warm and friendly Cons: — Rooms on the 2nd floor are a bit too small. So I would suggest pay that little extra and take up something on the 3rd floor.

The location is great. There are quite a few food options within a reasonable walking distance. It's also about a 20-30 minute walk to Wrigley which is worth it to see everything on the way. The rooms are very clean and actually quite spacious. The service has been wonderful. They are willing to help and go the extra mile to do so.

Very clean. Good for the price and close to a lot of good stores. My only complaint is that the ac unit did not work very well. Our room went from hot to cold and back.

It was very comfortable and clean. Bed and pillows were very comfortable. Smaller rooms than elsewhere but to be expected in Chicago. Location was great. Super close to the metro station and a quick walk to Wrigley Field. Would recommend this hotel and would stay here again.

Always a great experience staying at this hotel. The staff is fantastic they are always friendly and accommodating. We had the suite this stay and we are already planning when we can book it again for next year's long Memorial day stay. Awesome room!

I have been staying at Days Inn Chicago, when I come to the city for business, for 23 years! The location is excellent and the staff is the best in the business. It reminds me of a European hotel, some of the rooms are quirky but this building is solid, we'll maintained and very clean (the bathrooms sparkle). They have a well appointed work out room, I like walking to the lake for my workout and it's only a fee blocks away. What other hotel gives their guests two bottles of water, gourmet popcorn and a breakfast bar in the room… No one and I stay in about 200 rooms a year traveling for business. I kind of don't want to share my favorite place with everyone but they deserve the accolades.

Fantastic location, nice rooms, great staff and excellent value. 5 week road trip with the family and this tops all the accommodation we had. Matthew.

My friend and I stayed the night in Chicago at Days Inn Chicago after a night out. The staff was friendly and accommodating. The room was simple, clean and comfortable. Would stay again for sure.

Good location, quick access to downtown but much cheaper than downtown hotels. Quality continental breakfast and good service. Rooms are small but adequate.

Neil at the front desk; excellent, professional, accommodating, superior. Rooms; clean, appropriate price for what you get, SUPER surprised at the $ for the area we were in. We were in a room that didn't have a lot of noise that we were fearing there would be based on other reviews, but they do provide ear plugs. VERY comfortable, and again, the service. Outstanding; I even called 2 days after we checked out about a possible lost item and once again spoke to Neil, he never once brushed me off (it was a trivial item) and even suggested another time that I could check with housekeeping due to busy schedules.

They were very accommodating with the questions I asked about the best deep dish in Chicago. (It was good! ) I loved the free coffee by the vending machines. The continental breakfast was on point! The gentlemen working the front door were very nice the same with the people at the front desk. The placement of the hotel was nicely placed, close to alot of good eats and entertainment. Over all great place to stay that added to the visit. I will definitely stay with them again!

Great value in terms of location, staff and services. Neighborhood on Chicago's near north side. Within blocks of metro rail station with two lines stopping. Great stores like Trader Joe's and more. Just a few blocks from lakefront park for running, walking and biking. convenient reasonably priced parking. Staff could not be more helpful. Access to LA Fitness around the corner. Comfortable bed. Refrig and coffee maker with Starbucks to brew. Excellent, free wi-if. Can't say enough about this location.

Service was good. Room was good. Price was much better than expected for Chicago. Much nicer than your average Days Inn. Would stay again.

It was great, the room is very spacious and clean. They are extremely nice and pleasant staff. The only down side is the tv, you don't get many channels and its not hd. Other than that its great.

I have stayed here twice and I would recommend it. Decent hotel and price, especially for the location. My favorite thing: I left my phone charger there once, when I returned 3 weeks later, they still had it! I was impressed!

A nice hotel, very nice and friendly front desk, to recommend which are business rooms. Only the beds are too small! In the city and to the airport easily get high/Metro or bus. Right in front of the door, which is "Number 76" bus "Diversey". To the city's railway with the eponymous high station "Brown line" which is well away from 8 minutes walk. Good 10 min. Is the bus number "151", which Ave goes to the city and directly to Michigan. A 7 day ticket for all öffis costs $33 which you can buy directly on the "blue line" at the airport. Directly over the "loop" and the "BREW line" to the Diversey Pkwy.

Day staff was awesome! Night front desk staff was as rude as it comes and if it weren't for my girlfriend being with me I would have asked to speak to manager immediately to make sure the crass attitude of both front desk employees was brought to attention. I know customer service has gone done the drain in America but being rude and confrontational with customers is cause for major concern and I sincerely hope the issue has been addressed.

Really friendly service and nicely decorated hotel with no smell at all. Rooms had many appliances, along with being clean and having much space. Although, the nice service means lots of tipping and it kind of wastes much of your cash, along with not having free parking. Luckily, to make up for that, I recommend staying here because of the rooms along with a great and free continental breakfast and fitness room.

I am an American, but I've been living in Taiwan for twenty years. The credit card requirement to check in to a hotel is one of the baffling "America things" I've encountered a number of times the last few years. Last year, I specifically opened a $300 bank account with Bank of America, so that I would have a debit card to show at hotels. Last night, at midnight, I arrived after an epic 28 hour journey (Taipei — Osaka — LA — Chicago) and the front desk cretin tells me "There's a problem with your card. I can't give you a room. " "But I reserved the room months ago. I confirmed it two weeks ago. " "Sorry. Too bad. " Me: (In a normal tone of voice, but sopping wet and clearly unhappy) "Wouldn't you give some notification in advance, if there was a problem with the card? You're informing me now, at midnight, in a city I'm unfamiliar with, and tossing me out on the streets in the rain to try to find a room? " "Sir, if you're going to shout, I must ask you to leave. " Don't stay at this hotel. Ever.

Terrible. The night before I asked front desk to change the initial credit card I made the reservation with. I handed the new card and the attendant registered it saying "I will change it. " The next day to my surprise the old card was still in folio. The attendant charged the rooms to the initial card. I asked if to reverse that and handed the new card because I did not want to use the initial card. This is when the attendant, Nathan, began treating me very bad. He got in an argument with me just because I wanted to use another card. He insulted me and offer no help. I also upset and called the police to report the disturbance. Other attendants were very courteous but Nathan needs good lessons on customer service. I will pursue this all the way to Corporate Days Inn.

The maid took a brand new VS strapless bra, my hello kitty slippers and shower cap and and my razor. I know they didn't just dissappear. Was very disappointed.

We were looking for a budget friendly hotel as close to downtown Chicago as we could. This one had clean rooms, helpful staff and a most excellent and large breakfast. Its on a busy street which means if you have a room on the front than its a bit noisy but here are a lot of buses that go by. Parking is a bit expensive, its cheaper to use park aid around the corner than use the valae parking that is a long wait and uses the same parkade.

We booked 13th through the 15th not knowing that our flight wasn't until the 16th. Thankfully they had a cancellation so that we didn't have to transfer to another hotel. Thought we were returning on the 15th. But the computer kicked it to the 16th, and not the 15th. They have been great to us that we could have the same room also. We will come back for sure. Love the area too.

Very impressed with front desk staff. My room is clean and neat. You can't beat the location and the price.

Was broken down and stranded in Chicago so I came into the Days Inn at 4:30am. Chris at the front desk was so awesome. Even though they were sold out for the night he called all of the hotels within walking distance and found me a room. Even though I didn't technically stay at the hotel the staff experience was awesome.

My knees hit the tub as I tried to use the toilet in the bathroom. The plumbing was so old, there were 4 handles in the tub. Two didn't work at all and the other two did. The drain had pubic hair on it from a prior guest. The breakfast buffet was somewhat strange, with the bagel selection of plain, jalapeno, and bran. This four-story hotel only had one elevator servicing all four floors. No accommodations for elderly or handicapped individuals. The only upside was the great restaurants and stores surrounding it. Best Walgreens in America around the corner. As far as the hotel goes, the price was originally quoted at $319 for three nights, but Chicago taxes kicked that up to $393. Although it is the closest hotel to Wrigley Field, please choose the 2nd closest. Dear Owner, if you are seriously telling me that I should upgrade to be considered a valued customer, then you expect me to just deal with it if I pay for anything less? Nobody looks for the most expensive room and you should know that.

We had a terrible experience with this hotel and would never recommend it to anyone. We were using a credit my father in law had from a previously booked room that he was not able to use. That apparently was problem number 1. The date we needed to use the credit they tell us requires an upcharge since it was July 4th weekend. Umm, ok. However, ultimately we couldn't make it on that date so my wife (and we have the phone records to prove it. Which is sad that I even have to mention that) calls 2 weeks before the night we are to stay there (WELL in advance of their "24 hour cancellation policy") to cancel. First, the lady tells her they can't cancel it because it is a credit. We say, wait what? What do you mean you can't cancel it, we're not getting stuck with this upcharge because you don't know how to do your job. She then says you can cancel, but you'll lose the credit (already paid for mind you). Ok, fine. Cancel it and we lose the credit, let's be done with it but we're not getting stuck with the upcharge. But that's just the beginning. So we call back the day of the previous should-have-been-cancelled booking because we feel uneasy given it seemed like the previous person we talked to to cancel didn't know what she was doing and sure enough, she failed to properly cancel our reservation.

It was far from the first time we stayed at this hotel and of course we like it very much. Nice updates and great mattress. We tried to look at the brand we had in our room but was impossible. We would like to know since we are up to buy a new one. waffle maker absolutely priceless in the new dining area. Bravo. Cat and Steve.

Also commonly called the Daze Inn because of its history of hosting many great bands over the years because of it close proximity to Metro, The Vic and other venues. Great location for the North Side, central to almost anywhere you would want to go while up north. Better and cheaper than staying in a tourist trap hotels on the Mag Mile. Lots of great 24 hour places open around here to grab a bite to eat. Wouldn't mind staying here again.
