Lovely staff, lovely art…nice overall!

Great staff except and hotel And great location except I had confirmed check out at 2PM (CONFIRMED! I HAVE SCREEN SHOTS). I wanted to come back to hotel to rest before my travel and of course I came back to my room with the front desk agent standing at my door with the door fn wide open.

It was awesome l, the people were very friendly and helpful.

Stayed here for the first time this weekend… we loved it! Great location, love the rooftop, cute/cozy rooms, dog friendly and the staff was amazing too! Shout out to Mondo who was so nice and helpful! Can’t wait to come back! ☺️

Stayed here for 1 night, and I wish it was more! My son had an early dr appt at Lurie’s children’s hospital, so we needed a place close by! They actually offered a lower rate when we told them we’re going to be patients at the hospital!
From the valet, to the rooftop to everything in between, this hotel is amazing! We will definitely be back to stay while my son is in and out of hospital! Thank you, hotel Lincoln for being great!

The Kennison Restaurant downstairs off the lobby was good. Delicious Gooey Butter Cake with raspberry sauce, strawberries, blueberries and blackberries! Sublime!

Great experience… the staff was so amazing.

Wonderful staff at check in but not so much at check out. We were very disappointed to find the rooftop restaurant/bar was closed for a private event until 8 pm and when it opened the outdoor/open portion was closed for another event. Wish I would have known this prior to check in because, honestly, we would have stayed elsewhere. It’s summer, and we were looking forward to being able to enjoy the lake views from up there… but the woman checking us out didn’t seem to care. Oh and that amenity fee? I’m sure it’s well worth the price IF the amenities are available when you’re there.

We always stay at Hotel Lincoln when visiting Chicago. They never fail to make it a wonderful experience. Comfortable beds and pillows (that’s a big positive) and very clean even in the corners! The mix of vintage and post modern decor, with each room being a little different in size, shape and furnishings, gives us the sense we are not even in a hotel. Excellent, friendly, helpful staff from concierge to house cleaning to valet. … The can not recommend it highly enough.

This place is great! Staff are very nice. Rooms are small but funky and cool. Heating and cooling work well. Nice views if you get the lake side.

This hotel is "The Soul of Chicago"! If you wish to experience why people love Chicago so much stay here. Drew, Rick along with the staff & valet crew are a true team that capture that Midwest touch… that makes you feel at home. No cold corporate atitude here. ☆The Location… it faces Lincoln Park☆ The rooms are cozy and the bed was perfect. The rooftop bar… well the view is so Fantastic that people from all over Chicago go there to relax. Yes I Love this Hotel!

Hotel Lincoln and their staff made our anniversary so much happier! Very helpful and nice valet, bellman & front desk staff. Our room was perfect, with a great view. We love the J. Parker rooftop bar, too. We had a great time walking around Lincoln Park and Old Town with Hotel Lincoln's great location. We will definitely stay again!

We stayed here for a couple nights with our boys for the Pokémon Go Fest. The location across from Lincoln Park was perfect for our event. Also there are so many great restaurants within walking distance. We loved the neighborhood feel as well. The staff at the hotel were so friendly and helpful and left us the sweetest card with some wine for our 20th anniversary which we were also celebrating. The style of décor is unique and so fun. The only reason I did 4 stars is because the mattress was way too firm.

Well — our 2 days in Chicago — we got screwed twice! Once by the scammer who rented us a non existent apt. (out almost 2, 000$) and then by this hotel parking fee. SIXTY dollars per night PER CAR and we were there less than 16 hrs! And unfortunately we had 2 cars to park because we were hauling all of her stuff to live in Chicago for a new job. Since we got scammed on the apt — we had no place to go except this hotel! Luckily they had rooms ($$$) and the place was very nice, very clean, pleasant accommodating staff, impeccable service! The parking is outrageous! The following night we got a room at a Residence Inn — very nice, near the lake. Cheaper and NO parking fees!

The hotel building is older as you can see especially in the elevators (I don't like elevators anyway — these were small without much ventilation). The decor was funky and fun. The white bedsheets had some yellowing. Overall though — great location and friendly front desk. My husband and I loved the free bikes to ride. We took the bike paths to North Avenue Beach and had a wonderful afternoon!

A lovely place to stay, not very posh or high class but unique in it's way and great for the summer days. The beach is not far at all and there are plenty of Museums around, not the center of Down town but not as loud and crowded as well. Be aware of the valet parking, with tip it will be around 80$ to a 100. And with an App for Parking you can park on walking distance opposite the hotel for 19$ per day. The restaurant down is cool and tasty, and the sky/roof bar is something not to be missed. Enjoy yourself and Travel a lot.

Awesome little hotel. The decor and overall design just draws you in, it just all works so well. Yes, the rooms are smallish but what do you really expect for such a cool old hotel? Our room was clean and well furnished. We had a great view of the park and lake. Extremely conveniently located. The staff was absolutely amazing, so helpful and friendly! We'll absolutely be staying here again if we find ourselves in Chicago.

Amazing location for the zoo and park it is right across the street. And for adults the rooftop bar was a definite reason to come take a look along with the awesome Restaurant on ground floor. A Must stay For Chicago.

Checked in for a 3 night stay. We can hear the people next to us use the restroom. The mattress is rock hard. Room is tiny with a view of a brick wall. Smelled of wet dog in the room. For what we paid, could’ve stayed at a much nicer, cleaner, more updated hotel. Rooftop bar is nice, I’ll give them that. Will attempt to change rooms tomorrow…

Amazing hotel right next to Lincoln Park. Drew at the front desk was very helpful and entertaining. He even hooked us up with an area map and some places we might like to check out. The artwork throughout the hotel is a fun and interesting experience.

We were on the rooftop for a martini and the view was breath taking! The hostess and cocktail waitress were very sweet and the martini delish! A must do if you’re in the city as tourist or a native!

Staff was friendly and welcoming. Our room was clean and well lit. Inside of the rooms were fresh and newer looking. If I ever visit the windy city again. I'll stay here again.

Didn't stay at the hotel over-night. Visited J. Parker bar on the top floor. The view alone is worth the trip. Had Tito's on the rocks. Not cheap. Didn't expect that. Good pour. Go on any clear day and you will NOT be disappointed. DO bring out of-town-friends. They will love you for it… I guarantee!

The room is not big, I live with the next door has the same room, with colleagues walk to calculate convenient, but there is no family room.
The service is cordial, I change them for small copy they are also very patient, this hotel business is very good. If there is another chance to come to Chicago, I will be happy to live here and go back to Taiwan and recommend it to my friends.

Beautiful old hotel on the edge of Old Town, North Chicago. Nice clean rooms with great views. The staff is very friendly and helpful. I brought a bike and they stored it behind the counter, so that it was ready for me to use anytime.

Our stay at the Hotel Lincoln was in November 2017. Our son had a wedding nearby and this was the hotel where they chose to arrange a block of rooms for their guests. It was within walking distance of the venue and the bride and groom thought it would offer a unique experience for their guests. We were highly satisfied with our stay there. As parents of the groom, we were given a room upgrade and because we had another couple that we traveled with, they were also given an upgrade. The rooms were very comfortable and the staff was very accommodating. Most of our friends and family chose to stay there, as well, and I have not heard a negative comment from anyone. We would highly recommend the Hotel Lincoln for anyone interested in a stay at unique, eclectic boutique hotel with cozy atmosphere and great staff.

I honestly do not have a single negative thing to say about our stay at Hotel Lincoln. The staff was beyond friendly and accommodating. They touched base with us before our arrival to check for any special requests or special occasions, it just so happened that we were traveling for my friend's birthday. In honor of that they upgraded us to a suite (huge! 2 full bathrooms! ) and sent us up with a bottle of wine. Every single staff member we encountered were so friendly (Shout out to Van and Drew at the front desk! ). They had honest and helpful information about the neighborhood… things to do and restaurants to visit. The room was extremely clean and super spacious. Both restaurants — J. Parker and The Kennison had great service and the food was fantastic. We even spent some time in the lobby enjoying a hot tea from the coffee shop… and that did not disappoint. The location is very convenient and the neighborhood was welcoming and easy to navigate. If you ever find yourself needing a hotel in Chicago — you cannot go wrong with Hotel Lincoln!

Nice trendy hotel close to a wide variety of things to do and places to drink and eat. A short walk will take you to Second City and a wide variety of bars and restaurants. Rooms are on the small side, but we're very clean and comfy. We spent most of a day in our bed cause it was so hard to leave. Staff was young and enthusiastic, and helpful and friendly almost to a fault. If you book online through them you might be able to pick up the parking for a penny, which saves you so much that it'd be silly not to stay there.

I'd say charming. Our stay was a Monday evening only. I wouldn't spend more than a night here. The room was small. Upon entry stains on the bedding were clearly visible (they were brownish as well as other stains evident once you looked). The room had a very heavy smell of, I don't know how to describe it, heavy perfume like maybe. Possibly the detergent from the bedding? Which contradicts the soiled bedding. Who knows. Anyway, not pleasant for a person with asthma sensitive to strong odors. I did survive it. On a more positive note, the staff was WONDERFUL. Drew at the front desk, Tiffany in the rooftop bar and a lovely gentleman that helped me with the key card (my fault, I was doing it wrong but he did not hesitate to help). It is also walking distance to excellent restaurants. We did not get to experience the Kennison as it was closed for a holiday party. Breakfast on the rooftop was delicious with equally pleasant service. Spring for a bigger room and check it before making it your home for the night.

We were able to get a room last minute after a pipe burst in our apartment, and we needed a place to stay for the night. The price was right and the location was convenient, so we decided to go with Hotel Lincoln. We were greeted by Chris at the front desk when we arrived, and he was very welcoming and friendly. The check-in process was quick and painless. Check out in the morning was equally quick and painless. Our room was cold no matter how high we turned the heater up, so that was frustrating, but the rest of the room was fine. The bathroom could've been cleaned better, and the room needed a good dusting. Also, the vending machine refused to take my cash. Honestly though, for a 12 hour stay, it wasn't a huge deal… just something for management to consider. We booked through a third party site, and our reservation included a food and beverage credit. We used it to grab an Americano, a green tea, and a few blueberry muffins at Elaine's the next morning, and it was really great. Despite a few minor annoyances, I would book again if in need of a hotel room. It's a cute little spot in LP.

Great experience! Staff upgraded our room because we wanted early check in and the room we reserved wasn't quite ready! The recommended great restaurants, not that we needed to leave the restaurants in house were amazing! Even the coffee they give you in the room was good! This place made our first time visit to Chicago a wonderful experience!

My dad stayed there and loved it. Clean room and staff was very friendly. They have a wall of bad art on the staircase that is pretty cool too. The last day of his stay we had breakfast on the rooftop cafe… great food and awesome view! Definitely recommend this place.

Love the Hotel Lincoln and the J Parker! We put up my girlfriend's parents there as a Christmas gift and they absolutely loved it. It's in an awesome part of town, and the space is really cool. The view from the J Parker is fantastic, especially at night when the zoo lights are lit. The staff at the bottom of the elevator can sometimes be a bit blunt, but they deal with a large crowd on the weekends. Regardless, great place to hang out!

Clean and comforting. Staff members were welcoming, conversational, and hooked us up with an upgrade without being asked! The rooftop bar is a great place to have a few adult beverages with some amazing views of the city and lake to bask in.

Had a very nice overnight stay. Room was cute: very nicely decorated, contemporary, clean, everything you needed, nothing you didn't. The heating unit, however, was very loud and squeaky in our room. We weren't able to run it at night because it was so loud. That aside, I really liked it. The hotel was located right next to the zoo and waterfront. Great restaurants nearby. I would go back again.

Hotel Lincoln has great customer service. They were kind enough to book us another night (and match a 3rd party website) due to the Cubs rain delay. There is a coffee shop located next to the lobby. There is a rooftop bar and breakfast restaurant. Rooms are tiny and a little dated but that was expected before booking. Overall stay was pleasant. Fyi, valet is $57 per night.

The front desk people were just very lovely & the cleaning staff are very sweet & helpful. The beds however, are not the comfiest. Plus when we were done for the night & going to bed the TV kept cutting out, remote wouldn't work. Plus didn't even have half the stations listed. You can hear the toilets from other rooms as well whole you try to sleep. Other than that pretty nice.

Hotel Lincoln… where do I even begin? We booked a room for a single night. 2 beds with included valet parking. The total bill was $311. The hotel advertises itself as a "boutique" hotel experience. I am not sure exactly what that means to them but to me the place is a total DUMP. The hotel is dirty, old and rundown with a design motif that I can only describe as "dumpster dive chic". Aesthetically, this fails to be cute or hip on any level and only adds to the disappointment you will feel with the overall experience. Everything smells quite musty and very little works as it should. Our room smelled badly of dog and smoke and old age. There was no mini-fridge of any kind and no microwave. The phone in the room did not work and neither did most of the electrical outlets. We had a through-the-wall air conditioning unit that barely kept up with the unseasonably warm September heat and probably did a lot to amplify the musty smell that we could not get accustomed to. My wife and I both left the hotel with severe allergies — most likely due to the presence of mold in the musty, stagnant air. The bathroom was small (but not crazy small) and served its purpose (despite having ZERO flat surfaces for toiletries) but was also terribly unclean. The back of the sliding door that closes off the bathroom was covered in mystery filth. Getting in the shower, there was a booger dried to the shower curtain (yuck! ) and after turning on the tub faucet a large (2.

Nice place in a great location. Seemed awfully expensive for what it is: an older hotel though maintained well and kept up to date. The staff was very attentive even before we arrived. The rooms are small, but the views on the upper floors are nice. Our room was considered lake view, but it was half lake and half neighborhood view as we were on the north side of the building. In any case, it was an enjoyable stay and exactly what I was after: something within walking distance of Lincoln Park and the North Avenue Beach (we came for the Chicago Air and Water show). We did not check out the rooftop bar but there were plenty of great food and drink options within safe walking distance. Highly recommended if you don't mind paying extra for a great location.

Booked this hotel last minute after a change of plans and we were very impressed. The staff were attentive, helpful, and always very friendly. The hotel is very clean and has a cool, eclectic style. There is also a really awesome rooftop bar that provides fantastic views of the Chicago skyline. Finally, the hotel is well located for exploring downtown and the surrounding Lincoln Park area. I would definitely stay here again.

Wow! I wish I had found this hotel sooner. From the friendly greeting at reception on the ground floor to the tasty food and inspiring views from the top floor lounge, this place does it right. The comfortable bed and park view (request a park view on floor 5 or above) are wonderful. I love to walk and the free zoo and park across the street provide many great routes upon which to ramble, plus you can walk a bit further to the lake shore paths and stroll safely for miles. Finally, it's only a few blocks south to a wide variety of restaurants. Give it a try, it won't disappoint!

We have always loved staying at this hotel. There are honestly no hotels that compare to it in our experience. We always get great service at the front desk and the restaurant at the top of the building has great cocktails and french fries! What more do you need!? The rooms are clean and comfortable. We stay about once a year and love when we get the chance!

I'm seconding Corey Straessle's review. Although the hotel was clean and trendy I have to question the competence the staff. Let me start by saying we paid over $400 for a queen size bed for a weekend trip. We received the wrong room the first night — — even though we had already paid and reserved our room weeks in advance. We had to stay in the wrong room the first night — — yes, they said the double beds were an "upgrade" from our single. What? Okay, whatever — — they gave us a $50 credit to the restaurant. Mistakes happen. We go to the restaurant, eat, enjoy (great food) but when we wrote our room number on the bill, we were still charged the full amount. Okay, whatever — — it was a gift anyway; at this point we're not surprised. The next day, we are at brunch in the city and are told that we can now come back to the hotel to change rooms. Great, except the inconvenience of leaving to get back to change our rooms. Whatever, we're happy to be upgraded to a King size bed for our anniversary instead of double beds. Sunday, we're checking our bank account to see what we can do in Chicago and, this should be no surprise to you if you've read this far, but they've charged us for two nights in the hotel. $134.61 x 2 = 269.22. We're told this is a security deposit. It's not; we already have a $100 security deposit charged the first night. They don't know what it is. They are looking in to it. They tell us to call our bank to look in to it.

The rooftop bar at Hotel Lincoln is an amazing experience. Great signature cocktails (which are also relatively affordable for the location) and fun atmosphere, especially for afternoon drinks. Stunning views of Lake Michigan, open table seating with the option to reserve couches. Overall, it's a top-notch spot for great views and great drinks in the city.

We went there for my birthday. I like how it is not crowded like other Chicago rooftops. They have nice outdoor area as well as well functioning 2 separate inside areas. Waitresses and hostess were nice. We had fun enjoyable experience for not so expensive price.

We spent 4 nights at the hotel and really enjoyed it. The hotel staff were friendly and responsive and even let us check in early! Our room was one of the small ones, but that's fine, since really you only need a hotel room for sleeping, who cares how big it is? the hotel is close to the zoo and a farmer's market on Saturdays. Easy bus service into downtown and it's a 10 minute walk to the EL Train. The room was clean and had no weird smells and Wi-Fi worked fine, enough to watch Netflix in SD on. The only issue we had was that the ice machines aren't on every floor (only on odd numbered floors) and even then they aren't always working so it was a bit of a hunt to get ice.

My adult family visit Chicago 3 or more times a year, always staying at the Lincoln. We have stayed in suites as well as rooms with 1 or 2 king size beds, and have no complaints. Services provided by those at the front desk, front door and housecleaning are top notch. The location is a brief cab/ über to the excitement of the Magnificent Mile, Gold Coast, Museums and other tourist destinations, while its own Lincoln Park location offers calm and a beautiful view of the park and lake. Pets are welcome, yet one would never know pets have stayed as guest, based on the pristine and clean condition of the entire hotel and its rooms.

Drew was one of the Managers that our party had the weekend we stayed and he was truly amazing. When we arrived Friday afternoon he made sure our rooms were in order and that we were aware of the rooftop bar (highly recommend that it was beautiful) and suggested to go about 11am. He. Would check in with us as we left and just was very genuine to us all. We will definitely be staying here again of Drew is there.

Great service! Good advice from the front desk. Clean and inviting. Only flaw I found was the shower didn't drain that well. My feet were covered in water by the end. Would stay there again for sure. Location was perfect for all attractions.

As a huge history nerd, I really liked the contemporary spin on 19th century decor. The staff was friendly and very accommodating. The room was very nice and the bed was oooh so comfortable. There was also plenty of street parking right in front of the hotel during our visit. While I loved most of the design features, whoever designed the bathroom put more thought into how it looked than how it would function. The weird shelving thing right over the sink made it difficult to access the sink without making a mess. The shelf also obscured use of the mirror which made it very difficult to do my hair and makeup. I had to move over the toilet to use the mirror and my straightener cord kept getting stuck on the flush lever, which was frustrating and disgusting. Other than the horrible 30 minutes I spent getting ready in the bathroom, the rest of my stay was quite pleasant. Although I would probably want an alternate place to primp if I were ever to go back. If you're low maintenance or a dude, you will probably never experience these first world lady problems.

Basically a frat house that rents rooms. Lobby is small and crowded by people who are not even guests. The crowd lines up to get to the Rooftop bar and it snakes through the Lobby. Being a guest has NO privileges in regards to the Rooftop bar or restaurant. The entire building is basically a neighborhood hangout for Millennials who want to drink and get sloppy drunk. When was the last time you stayed at a hotel with a bouncer controlling the line to the elevator? Never? EXACTLY!

Hotel was quaint but the fact that I've now been kept up by the rooftop bar for two straight nights is a bit ridiculous. The bass three floors down is noticeable. Staff was helpful and rooms were clean but why spend so much per night when I can't fall alseep with the noise. I won't be back.

My cousin is visiting from out of town and checked in to this hotel. We hung out at their rooftop bar the first night and I really enjoyed the food and drinks as well as the atmosphere. We also had brunch the next day and it was pretty delicious! The sticky bun was my favorite!

Was a good stay. They are super pet friendly and were able to put my dog next to the only other dog on our floor so the barking was at least contained. Staff was super helpful when asking for information.

I absolutely loved my stay here. Every staff person I interacted with was amazingly friendly and helpful. The view from the corner room was gorgeous. Kelly at the evening front desk sent us to a terrific dive bar. Can't wait to have an excuse to stay here again!
