Arrived first time today. Love the historical lobby and downtown location! Great room.

Whoever owns this hotel really needs to go see how poorly your management team is running this hotel. The frontline staff is the only thing holding this place together despite having ZERO help from their leaders. Shame on Interstate Management group, you all are JOKES to the hospitality industry.

I stayed here with my family for 5 days on a family vacation to Chicago. We are totally satisfied. The location is amazing, and breakfast good, though can be better. I stayed in a comfortable room on the 14 th Floor. The room was a bit small but decent. The staffs are courteous. There may be better options in this great city but I would love to come back here and stay with them, again.

Definitely better places to stay in Chicago. This place was not the worst but I wouldn’t recommend. Pay a tad more and stay somewhere else. Cons: Dated hotel. Room was a good size but the rest of the hotel was small, boxy and old. Fridge in the room didn’t work and when we requested more pillows, they never came. Parking was WAY overpriced. Free breakfast wasn’t bad but overcrowded and not much seating. Elevators took forever. Staff seemed uninterested in working there. Pros: Nice city view from room, bed was comfy, location was prime for shopping and tourists, rooftop pool was cool (although we didn’t use it bc it was raining).

Excellent location and good breakfast.

Wi-Fi didn’t work, room was extremely small, paid $65 a day for parking, and then they refused to bring us our car after checking out bc one nearby road was closed. Forcing us to spend hours, sitting in the lobby, missing a critical event that we needed to get home for. They wouldn’t even let us back in our room to wait. Welcome to Hotel California, you can check in but you can’t check out. Borderline criminal that they’ve taken our car and are refusing to return it to us. This place is a nightmare but if you want to be a hostage at the Hampton — it may be for you.

Great location, not too far from the Riverwalk. Friendly staff, no additional cost for a hot breakfast (huge plus! ). There is a fitness center but I did not use it. I definitely used and appreciated the business center. Nice and clean, no issues encountered during my stay. I would stay again.

I'm rating this based off of similar hotels. The rooms are a little smaller but we'll equipped and clean. The bathroom is very nice with a good showerhead. The building has a very cool charm and the location is great. The free breakfast is also good as they have a few protein options.

Unexpectedly pleasant and different. Although the experience is classic Hampton, the setting is a vintage car club with a wonderful Art Deco lobby and understated class. There is a friendly bar and breakfast is generous and good quality with grab bags to go if you are rushed. The hotel rooms are small but well appointed and good in room tea and coffee facilities. The team are welcoming and courteous. Note there is no restaurant on site. The only real oddity is there are no room safes and no safety deposit boxes which does leave you a little stuck for somewhere to keep valuables. Overall, highly recommended.

Hotel and room were good but came back to the room to some missing items. Notified the front desk about the missing items and specifically where I placed them. None of the items were trash/food/disposables which could have been mistakenly thrown away. Front desk transferred me to cleaning service which never got back to me. Called 2 more times and same response… endless cycle of getting transferred with no one helping me. Finally someone got back to me saying no items matching my descriptions had been found. They clearly made no effort to return the items or cared that someone came into my room and removed the items. I will never stay here again.

The sweet that we had was absolutely wonderful! However, I was very leery in the shower the way the floor in the shower is. I loved having a balcony that overlooks the city. We were on the 24th floor. It was a washer and dryer in the room which was very convenient. You certainly don't see that in a lot of hotels. I didn't care for the elevators because they were on the small side and they were very busy so the wait was lengthy at times. The staff were very professional and accommodating.

We booked a river facing room and got one (stayed on the 7th floor). Check in was quick, easy and informative. The room was clean and came with plenty of towels. Breakfast was an assortment of foods, some were better than others (waffles over the french toast sticks). I would stay at this Hampton Inn location again and recommend it to friends and family.

Horrible experience! Horrible staff! Horrible room! They lie to you about holding money from your credit card and you will get it back in the morning. They charge nearly a hundred dollars to park there. The staff we're rude and bully like. At least the six I met. If you want a good hotel room in Chicago steer clear of this one. It's so horrible and the rooms are so shabby I have seen nicer rooms in forty dollar a night motels!

Very clean minimal and modern. Breakfast was delicious and Wi-Fi was an added bonus. Loved the bathroom and bed. Very comfortable. The staff were very friendly and knowledgeable of the city and what to do around it.

Awesome staff, they were very nice and friendly. The breakfast Staples were different everyday so you got to try something new and it was actually good, I was surprised. Normally, they don't taste that great. Stayed 4 nights, definitely recommend and would stay again.

I stayed at this beautiful hotel for two nights. First, I was welcomed and greeted with a big smile from the front desk personnel. He was very kind and offered me two bottles of water as courtesy for being honors member. I bet he gave water to almost everyone because I can tell that he was genuinely kind. Best location in the west loop and reasonably priced. My room was clean and comfortable. I’ll stay at this hotel again and certainly will recommend it to a friend.

Great place to stay! The location was fantastic, with easy access to everything in downtown Chicago. The park was just right down the street! The staff was very friendly and the room was clean. The night front desk manager was very helpful and offered several bottles of water as a courtesy. I would definitely stay here again, and recommend it to my friends.

Loved the hotel! I am pretty sure it was recently renovated, and everything was nice and clean. Unfortunately we got a room with a pretty unpleasant view (the back/service area of the hotel), but we just shut the blinds and enjoyed our stay. The room was small but cosy, and the nice appliances made the stay so much more pleasant. The complimentary breakfast was modest, but I did enjoy the fresh fruit, bagels and coffee. My only complaint is about the heating/AC unit. Ours was incredibly loud, and wouldn't shut off properly. We couldn't fall asleep till 3 in the morning trying to figure out how to turn it off properly (which shouldn't be this complicated since it's not rocket science). Called the reception three times and were promised that someone is going to come up and take a look at it, but no one came, so that was frustrating. Eventually we figured it out and went to sleep, but had a very short sleep since we had to leave early in the morning. We enjoyed our stay despite this unpleasant experience, and will most likely be back!

Nice room with great showers. Strong water pressure and heat. Much better than other hotels. Breakfast was nice, with a around the clock coffee bar which is well stocked. Good for those late night outings. Walking distance to a lot of shopping and site seeing.

Second time staying in three months. Excellent location for public transportation and walking around the city. Nice modern rooms, comfortable beds, smartly designed rooms and bathrooms. Small desk, flat screen TV, small refrigerator, coffee maker. The lobby area has a bar that is opened for limited hours. There is also a great breakfast area served daily until 10am.

Very clean, well kept rooms. Beautiful art deco lobby. Friendly staff. Good free breakfast. There was some noise from the alley of trash being picked up but it wasn't too bad. Would stay again. Excellent value.

I spent two nights at the Hampton Inn Chicago Downtown, very clean and quite, the room was spacious, and breakfasts down in the lobby were included with the room. The location of the hotel is excellent, it's a walk distance to a lot of nice places and restaurants. Checking out was quick and easy, and I didn't order room service during my stay, so I can't comment on that.

We always recommend this hotel for friends that visit Chicago. While we often stay at Hampton, this one is special because of its history and beautiful architecture. It was the Chicago AAA building, built in the 1920s era. Service is always good. The free breakfast is a step up from the usual good Hampton buffet. Plus they have a bar there in the evening if you want to meet for a drink.

Overall, a very nice property. Valet parking provided quick response time. King room with sofa bed was smaller than expected. Rooms were clean. Reasonable walking distance to just about everything. Parking was expensive but you were granted in/out privledges.

The customer service is outstanding. This hotel was not fancy but they went out of their way to make my family feel at home. We had just had a bad experience at one business in Chicago, my family and I were overwhelmed and tired. The young lady behind the counter asked if we were alright. Gave my family free bottles of water and after we got to our room, she brought up a bottle of nice white wine for me. I'd say that is fantastic customer service! I'm all about that!

Hotel of the chain Hampton quite justito. With normal breakfast, but with good service in reception. Room just but in line with the price for what is Chicago. Very close to the emblematic places to walk.

We went there for a get away and saw the musical Wicked. We were a quick 3-4 minute walk from the hotel to the theater and a the same amount of time to walk to The House of Blues where we went for dinner. The lobby is beautiful, the staff was very friendly. The room was very small but that is NOT a complaint. It was impecably clean, very comfortable and modern. We had a glass shower, lotions and shampoos, hair dryer and fluffy towels. The bed was super comfy, the bedding was crisp and the pillows were plentiful. The breakfast was plentiful! They offer a 24 hour coffee and tea area and a complimentary bowl of fruit was always out and replenished. There are restaurants and bars literally steps outside of the front door. I HIGHLY recommend a stay here.

We stayed here three nights right after the new year and the rates were incredibly low. The hotel is only three years old. The building was originally the home of the Chicago Motor Club and the lobby has been restored to its original decor. The location is perfect. One half block off of Michigan Ave and about a block from the river. It's close to everything. The only down side was the size of the room. A little difficult to have two open suitcases. But, the location and price made up for that. I would stay here again.

Great hotel close to Michigan Ave and State Street shopping. Very clean rooms and good breakfast. Only issue was the street noise from cars racing with loud exhaust.

Got the king bed room. It's quite small but you don't really need any space. The bed is comfy and the bathroom is well laid out. Pretty quiet as well, which I appreciate. My room was right in front of the elevator and I hardly heard any noise. Their free breakfast was really great. A nice selection of items including fresh waffles you make yourself.

Great place for a fantastic one night stay. Easy valet, clean room, allowed me to check in early which was super appreciated, and friendly staff.

Very disappointed and very angry! Things happen in life that is totally unexpected and out of your contol. Had to cancel my stay because my daughter was in a car accident. Being told I will still be charged for the room. There was soo much compassion and concern for for my situation it was overwhelming! Could have verified the incident if that was the hotels concern. But because of the whole ordeal I will never book a stay at a Hampton again. Will also post on social media with my disappointment.

We stayed in Chicago over the holiday to attend the Thanksgiving Day Parade — when looking for hotels, I was looking first for a location within walking distance to the parade route, second hotel cleanliness, and third price. We found all three and could not have been happier with the choice to stay at the Hampton. Since we were staying over Thanksgiving, much of the staff had been given the day off to enjoy the holiday with their families — this was not a problem at all — the front desk staff, valets and other staff who were on hand were very personable and helpful. The breakfast was very good — the room was clean and comfortable (a bit small but more on the cozy side then uncomfortable) — we will choose this hotel again for future visits…

Room is so very small and the AC unit stopped working while we were there. Tne room is also very loud at night due to being right on a busy street. The location is central to the loop and convenient to many attractions. I'd probably look elsewhere if I came back again.

Pricey, but expected for a downtown hotel. Otherwise in line with what I expect from a Hampton — free Wi-Fi, breakfast, comfort. Parking is $67/day with unlimited in and out privileges via valet. Convenient texting system to retrieve the car. However, if you don't need your car during your stay, there are structures near the hotel for $45/day and the desk says you don't have to use their parking. Staff was friendly.

Very Nice hotel. Very clean and staff was very friendly. It was very centrally located near bus stops and train stations. It has a very modern feel inside the rooms while keeping a historical feeling inside the hotel. Would definitely stay there again.

Close to Michigan Avenue and the Park. Close to mass transit. Rooms were on the small side but comfortable. The shower was great! Breakfast was fresh with good selection s.

Great hotel. The lobby was great with a bar open from 4pm to 10pm. Complimentary breakfast with a great selection of food. The room was small but very nice. The hotel was in a nice area, within walking distance of dozens of places to eat & drink, and close to busses and train if you need to travel further away.

The Hampton is a neat hotel located in the old Auto Club building that still maintains some of its Art Deco decor next to modern upgrades. Our room had a wooded ceiling and parquet flooring, with a view of the old Carbon And Carbide building. Hampton Inns are always dependably clean and well kept, and this one was no exception. We would definitely stay there again.

This hotel was perfect for our needs. Location was great and the staff was friendly and very helpful. The breakfast was a usual Hampton breakfast but was very tasty and kept well stocked and clean and tidy. Wish it had queen beds. Two double beds is tough for 4 people. Very secure. Valet parking is expensive $60 approximately. When we were leaving we did see public parking garage across the street. Will check that out next time.

Its amazing hotel with no humanity at all. I visited this hotel just to use the restroom as I had an emergency but the guy absolutely refused me. I m glad at least guests are allowed to do that if they check out. Never go to this annoying hotel!

Good location to walk to lots of sites. 30 minute walk from Union station. About 10 minutes to Art Institute and House of Blues. Good breakfast. No pool or spa. Friendly staff. Our King room was really small. Check square footage before booking if important to you. Easy walk to Millennium Park​ and State Street shopping.

My stay here was great, the staff were very helpful and informative on any questions I had and even provided me with a personal charging cable when mine didn't work. I'm glad to see the Ethernet jack in my room worked. I've been to too many hotels where the jack is "disabled" for no good reason. This was a big plus. Overall great service!

One of the best hotel experiences I've ever had! The staff, everyone from management, the front desk, housekeeping and maintenance were friendly, helpful and very accommodating. We had a very large group, 19 teenagers and their families. They made sure everything was ready and smooth for us. The hotel is beautiful! The rooms are a bit small but typical for a downtown location, especially for a historic renovated building. Great location, just off of Michigan Ave, close to the shopping, restaurants and Millennium Park. This is definitely my go to hotel for all future visits.

This place is great! I look forward to my next stay there. The service is incredible and the facility are beautiful. Also the complimentary breakfast was delicious and full of choices. My one suggestion would be to provide meat options other than pork. If you have the chance you should definitely stay here.

This is, by far, the nicest Hampton Inn I've ever stayed at. I travel a lot, and have for years, all over both foreign and domestic destinations. The lobby is beautiful and well kept. They have a bar with local beer and exceedingly nice bar staff (seriously, the guy was great! ). They have a great selection of food and snacks in the "pantry" for sale. The rooms are new, clean, spacious, and well designed. This place really was a 5/5. Oh, and the location is extremely central and perfect for both Taxi and walking.

Booked a double bed room however when I arrive they only had a single king room which wouldn't work for us. They had no record of me requesting a double beds and refused to allow us to cancel the room without a fee. Rogelio was very rude and called me a liar, and his GM supported his decision. Luckily I was able to book the right room next door at the Hilton Gardens. Hampton Inn only had one room in the entire place available and it was an extremely busy day with conventions and Copa America, they could have easily booked it with someone and now I have to go call Amex to dispute the $350 cancellation fee. Stay away from this Hampton Inn, they are greedy and rude.

Instant grand impression walking in. Beatifuly restored, solid/small cocktail list, great atmosphere. Really was the uniquely perfect last stop for drinks on date night.

I stayed at the Hampton Inn for a work conference. The location was good, cliffs to the conference and close to downtown shopping. The only negatives were the room was on the smaller side (not too bad, as I was the only one in the room) and my room didn't get maid service on the second day.

For a prime location, the hotel is quite cheap. I booked a suite with king bed for $99 with breakfast included. The hotel is also well maintained.

This is a "ok" like hotel. Rooms are OK, but the air conditioning might be so loud that you cannot sleep (and it even gets louder if you switch it off). Breakfast is OK, selection is rather small, using plastic and paper dishes. Staff is very friendly. Location is great for sightseeing and good public transport. 3 stars because of the noisy room — otherwise it would be 4 stars.

Small rooms, but very well appointed. It's not the normal "were going to cram all this crap in the room and make you think it's not small". They've designed it with slimmer furniture knowing they need to maximize space. Very clean and fresh looking. Staff was very helpful and nice at checkin. Definitely the perfect "we won't be in the room much" vacation. Great location, helpful people, clean, and cozy feeling. Overall. Top notch, the staff should be proud of themselves.

This was a great hotel with easy access to the downtown loop. The hotel was beautiful and the room was very clean. The room was small but I did not come to Chicago to hang out in the room so it was just great. The staff was great. They were knowledgeable about the area and gave us great directions and ideas for food. We really enjoyed out stay and plan to return again in the summer. Mario, Steven and Brittany were great front desk people and the breakfast was great. The breakfast lady that was there for 2 of the mornings was great. Very friendly and helpful. We will be telling everyone about this great hotel. Thank you so much for making us feel at home when we were far away from home.

Great hotel. One of my most enjoyable hotel stays. Great location (one block from the Magnificent Mile), close to the Loop for transport to O'Hare Airport, close to State Street and very close to Grant Park (and the Bean). Excellent free breakfast — oatmeal, fruit, cakes, bacon, eggs, waffles, coffee. Art deco in the lobby and modern and spacious rooms. Air conditioning for the hot summer and computer use in the business room. Highly recommended — a repeat stay next time I am in Chicago!

The overall stay was great, the staff were super friendly and very accommodating. When we initially booked out stay we requested a king suite with a king size sofa pull-out because it was initially just 3 of us. When our daughter decided last minute she could come we call customer service to see if we could switch rooms. At the time they did not have any other options available. When we arrive we were given a corner room which was extremely small and could not fit us all. We called customer service and they immediately switched us to a room with two double beds which was a little bigger in size. Since we were not spending much time in the hotel this was fine, the beds were comfortable but I would suggest letting customer's regulate their own air temperature. We called down to have it lowered and the lowest it would go was 64. It was very warm in the evenings.
