Nice hotel with parking and very spacious room. Only 5 minutes drive to the city. Very convenient.

Chicago South Loop hotel is a wonderful property with its own secure parking lot which in which a parking pass is included with stay. This hotel is very professional and has a friendly and efficient front staff to help get you checked in quickly. These rooms are sharp and massive; biggest hotel room I’ve ever stayed in that wasn’t considered a suite. I’m talking like this is the size of a small apartment. Bathtub was huge! While I’m sure the property was near capacity, it was also very quiet and peaceful. The little coffee shop was reasonably priced and delicious (and complimentary coffee was available in rooms as well). The band was excited about the weight room (while I was more stoked about the business center). There’s an on-site salon as well. Will continue to stay here when in Chicago. It’s very close to a great club and restaurant called Reggie’s. We’ll continue to make this our go to spot to stay when in town. Thanks team!

The hotel is beautiful! I loved the decor & the staff was friendly! The bed was comfortable in the very spacious room. The only negative is the parking is very limited. (like most Chicago)

The only review I would give this hotel is that that is my one and only visit. For a hotel of that size to have (3) family reunions at the same time this pass weekend and only (3) luggage carriers was a disgrace! And in my room and most rooms did not have a microwave, plus on the first floor in the main lobby no soda or potatoes chips machines, this hotel in the future must do better to serve there customers since there down the street from my favorite baseball team Chicago White Sox!

The staff was friendly and rooms cleaned but their website needs to be up dated we checked in today after being here for a little while we went looking for the lounge they had pictures of on their website but was told it wasn’t no longer available, we searched for the cafe’ and found it was closed until Tuesday then went and found the gift shop thinking we would be able to get snacks to take to our room but nope it was closed too so we followed the signs to go find the vending machines and they only had a pop machine and asking for 2.00 dollars for a can of pop.

The Chicago South Loop Hotel was an excellent stay. Their rooms were furnished with best beds and pillows we’ve slept on thus far. We travel a lot and that means the world to us to get a good nights sleep. The bath tubs were great! They were extra deep so you could have a really nice and relaxing bath and the appliances were all brand new. That is excellent that they keep up the maintenance and rotate all of this items out. The rooms were also very spacious. It’s nice to have that room especially when visiting big cities, you just expect to be cramped. We also loved the decor. The original jazz paintings were great! Really helped set the mood for our stay in the Windy City. Another wonderful feature they offer is an actual parking lot for guests! We couldn’t find parking anywhere for our adventures around town but we had a spot when we returned to sleep and that was amazing to be able to park immediately and go to bed without fighting and searching for a curb to park on. When we returned very late that evening the hotel staff were hospitable and polite. They were very helpful with our stay. We will be returning to Chicago South Loop Hotel.

It was ok for the location since we were going to a show at Soldier Field. Parking is not obvious and they really should have someone in the front letting people know where they can go to park. The bar that is connected to it was just ok… we ended up leaving the restaurant the next morning when we were seated and had to wait a really long time and no one even got our drink order. Very poorly ran. So if you really just need a bed to sleep in and don't expect anything else nice… sure, go there.

Place was nothing to write home about standard hotel I guess what you expect at this price. Bar on premises 21+ only. We tried to go in with two children to have a drink and grab a bite but were asked to leave. Tv in room didn't work, air conditioning was sub par.

I really like this hotel. It's a great central location to alot of the music festivals and events in the area. It has free parking, a nice little cafe, friendly staff. Only thing I would say is that rooms are a tad dated and rough in some areas but for the price and other things mentioned, it's a pretty good value.

The room is big and I gotta say that I liked the tub in the bathroom it's huge. The room was clean and was provided with almost everything I wanted. The most important thing is that parking is free.

The least comfortable hotel I have ever had in my life! The towels were "dark white"! The hotel The beds were dirty! The comforter smelly! Especially, The trains outside pass by every 10mins! I will never come back! $200 hotel shouldnt be like this! Worst hotel experience ever!

Good local hotel with two restaurants, a hair salon, and a variety of other amenities. Conveniently located near McCormick Place and Chinatown.

Great stay close to dt and everything else was convinent.

What a great find! We were in Chicago to watch a musical performance near Soldier Field and decided to stay at this hotel… So glad we did. Nice comfortable rooms with deep soak tubs, a mini fridge and free on-site parking! The lobby bistro has a great breakfast as well.

We have stayed here two years in a row. The hotel is beautiful but I have one complaint. The hallways are freezing cold in the winter months. Also the gift shop has very sporatic hours. The staff is super sweet and helpful.

Was given the wrong room. Went back to the front desk only to be told that the room I was given was the only one left despite having booked 3 weeks in advance. The room I booked was the best they has and was given a handicapped room half the size. Went back to ask if they had any non handicapped rooms left only to be told again they had no rooms left and were sold out. Wasn't until I asked for talk to a manager that the room I originally booked magically became available despite having been told moments before they were all booked. Manager was less than sincere in apology. Free parking was a plus once I got the room I paid for it was alright. Service left something to be desired though.

The beds are nice, queen-sized and cozy. The hotel is conveniently located and reasonably-priced. My only complaint is that the coffeemaker is broken.

Husband and I brought our 4 year old to the city as a birthday trip — I was very pleased with our stay at the South Loop Hotel. The front desk staff was very friendly and answered all our questions with their honest opinions. Our room was nicely laid out and gave plenty of room for us to spread out and relax after a long day walking the City. The king bed was comfortable as well as the furniture in the seating area. The Wi-Fi was very fast and I was able to get my work done in no time. FREE PARKING, FREE PARKING, FREE PARKING is ultimately why we decided on this hotel and I am glad we did. Not only is the parking free but it's in a gated key entry lot. A few negatives — our a/c was loud, not unbearable but I could have done without it, our shower leaked all over the bathroom. I'm not sure if every room is equipped with a handicap shower as ours was but it was not set up very well and after one shower the entire room was flooded. A quick fix with a few towels at the base of the shower entry prevented any more water leaking. Also we were hoping to get a few gifts on our way out of town on our last day so we could avoid the hassle of going into the busy areas of the city and I was very unimpressed that the gift shop was NEVER OPEN. The front desk staff informed me that it was an independently ran business and was not affiliated with the hotel. So unfortunate we were wanting to spend a good deal of money on gifts for friends and family.

My home in Chicago for a couple of weeks. Very kind, attentive staff, large rooms and always clean. Free parking, good location. I feel safe here. Highly recommend.

The Hotel itself is nice — Location, rooms. However the customer service is awful. The majority of the desk staff was nice but the problem is that it took way too long to respond to issues. There was an issue with the A/C and after 40 minutes or so they sent someone up. Then housekeeping never came so I called the desk and was told they have left for the day but they could send someone up with towels and to take out the trash. No one ever came. So I made the bed and noticed the comforter had old blood stains and some other unidentified stain as well. The gated entrance to the parking lot was always open because the exit gate was broken. I also kept smelling sewage from the bathroom. For some reason the windows in the hallway were opened the entire 3 days of my stay and the hallway was ridiculously hot — my glasses fogged up when I walked out of the room. I also noticed trash sitting in the hallway next to a room. I think the people in the room got annoyed and moved it by the janitors closet a few hours later. Then on the day I was checking out my flight got delayed and I called to ask for a late check out and was actually told "we can't because of housekeeping. " Which was annoying since housekeeping apparently does not clean all of the rooms. I would definitely not pay to stay here again.

Chicago South Loop cannot be beat. The staff is extremely friendly and helpful. The rooms are huge and clean. Parking is free and secure, in Chicago what more could you want for a great price!

Stayed here for 4 nights to see the U2 shows at the United Center. Can't beat the price in Chicago. Not a lot to do nearby but free parking (rare) and fast free Wi-Fi. Nice bed, cold air conditioning, nice shower with good pressure, REAL DirecTV with a guide and nice picture, fridge in room but no microwave (otherwise I'd rate 5 stars). There is a microwave in the business center you can use. Can't speak for the onsite bar & restaurant, I didn't try them. I would stay here again for sure.

Nice hotel, convenient to the UC Hospital campus. I believe it also relatively near many tourist and visitor attractions, including Hyde Park, the Shedd Aquarium, etc. The hotel was clean and recently updated — nice linens, clean and modern carpet, etc. My room faced the street and did have some noise from the nearby train, but nothing really disruptive. The room was spacious, clean, and offered a ton of natural light from three windows. Stayed here as a business traveler and would do so again.

I never bother to leave any bad review but this one has gone too far. I stayed over the weekend. Loud music until 3 am (mostly coming from the bar below), lousy hotel management, no housekeeping (they claimed since we put don't disturb sign, they "honored" our sign and didn't perform any cleaning but in fact, we never have our sign placed in front of the door), random person keep accessing our room and asking whether we already checked out. Wtf. Overall the place is spacious and near Chinatown.

Loud music at 2:30 am in the morning without any notice in advance. It's impossible to sleep because of the noise. Malfunctioned toilet. Had to use the public restrooms downstairs. The rooms are spacious and clean though. The location is ok too.

I have to start by saying that some of the lower reviews about this hotel said that it was dirty, poorly kept, and had a rude staff. Additionally, there were knocks on the neighborhood. Many of those reviews are a couple of years old (or at least more than a year). We rolled in about 11:30 on a Thursday night. The gentleman working the desk was funny, polite, and helpful. We were in our room within 10 minutes of arriving, having parked in the lot that is not gated (there are two lots at the hotel). We had tickets to a Cubs game, and as I hadn't been to Chicago since I was a child, I asked what the best way to get to the game was. Of course it's the L, and the station was about six blocks from the hotel. Again, the gal working the desk (she had a hairdo similar to a buzz cut, I'm sorry I didn't get her name) was VERY helpful, and was funny and outgoing in addition. The next day, my wife and I walked to the train station. The neighborhood does not feel dangerous. It's a neighborhood that feels like it's the next one to be revitalized in Chicago. Less than two blocks east is a neighborhood that feels like it's been gentrified, and about four blocks north, the same is happening. I am a teacher, and the school where I used to work in Lincoln, NE is a more dangerous neighborhood. The neighborhood felt safe, we saw plenty of people out walking dogs. Our room was huge and clean.

The staff is pleasant and knowledgeable. Rooms are spacious however can use a new a new look. Wake up early and enjoy a free continental breakfast. Will recommend to others.

The hotel is very nice but the location was not convenient for us at all. The rooms were clean, the hotel in general was clean and the staff was very friendly. The free parking in their lot was amazing and they have free Wi-Fi! The area is all very well lit and we felt safe the entire time. The bed was comfortable, the AC worked very well and the room had a refrigerator which was nice. The TV was Direct TV so it went out during a rain storm which did suck. As for the location. It is a 40 minute walk to the Field museum or anything in that area. A short 2 minute drive but you hate to give up your parking spot and we weren't about the ride a Chicago bus. To get to the downtown loop or Navy Pier is again a quick drive but then you have to worry about parking your car. Over an hour walk and the L does not run in that area. Overall if you need to be in that Southern area of Chicago (near Chinatown) this is an excellent hotel to stay in. If you plan on doing much near Navy Pier or the Magnificent mile I would not stay here.

This hotel was GREAT! In walking distance to McCormick Place and the CTA bus was on the corner (leading to north State Street shops and restaurants). It was conveniently located off the highway with very little city driving, which we were thankful for. They also offer free parking which was great and saved us a lot of money — not hard to find a spot if you check in at a reasonable hour. The rooms were big, clean, and had an amazing deep bathtub. Very friendly staff and secure entrances. We'll be back to visit again soon.

If you pick the correct occasion for staying, this can be a great option. I chose to stay the Saturday evening before the Shamrock Shuffle. On the morning of the event, it was a $6 cab ride to Grant Park, tremendous option to avoid driving into the loop and dealing with expensive parking options. The rooms are huge and clean. The one issue would be noise on weekends. They do have a couple bars and the lower level which can generate noise, I was on the Second Level directly above the comedy club. Once I turned my PTAC unit onto high, I couldn't hear a thing. Also, there is free parking but you may have to wait or circle for a while on weekends as the spots fill up with those parking for the club. Management had two workers outside attempting to prevent this as parking is to be for hotel guests only, so A for effort from management. Overall, it worked perfectly for me and should be a good option for business trips, road warriors or those wanting to stay at a more affordable rate while attending mccormick place, china town or sox park.

For the price, excellent. Clean rooms and the truck passes in the corner which takes you in 10 minutes to the Centre. For those who go Chicago Marathon and want their families to take them batons. They may be in the. Km35 and cycling hotel is intermediate pto. This in the year 2013.

We bidded $40 for this hotel for on Priceline. The room we were assigned to was MASSIVE. I mean, it was like 700 sq ft big! It was a bit odd because were was a lot of empty space. The giant walk in closet was so big that could have fit another washroom if they wanted to. Our room was quiet and somewhat clean — the beds were clean but we weren't sure about the stained carpets. Parts of the hotels/rooms were new (ie: beds, tvs, bathrooms) but rest of the hotel doesn't seem to fit in with the renovations as they were not renovated (ie: sofa's, elevators, business centers, air conditioner units, light switches in the room, hallways). The hotel comes with 2 free guest parking lot. The one we used were well lit and was in the middle of the hotel which can only be assessed by swiping a key card which we valued.
