This was by far the grossest place I've ever stayed. I needed a bed for a few hours before a flight after the airline changed the time and this was what was available. There were holes in the wall, the picture frames we're broken and there were splatters of gunk on the light switch, phone and walls. There is a shuttle to the airport, but it's 20$ one way and 30$ round trip. This information is not posted anywhere! The shuttle also apparently only is able to do one pickup an hour so I pre scheduled my return pickup & called multiple times that do to confirm someone was coming to get me. I waited an hour and a half to get picked up and then we had to make another stop on the way. It took 2 full hours to get from the airport to the hotel when it's a 20 minutes drive. You get what you pay for at this place is a gross overstatement.

I stayed here for 11 days, so got to know the place quite well. The rooms were clean and tidy, the staff were polite (although depending on who was on shift the helpfulness varied). The continental breakfast was adequate to start the day, two types of small muffins, several types of fresh bagels, selection of fruit and a couple of types of cereals. There is coffee / orange /apple juice available all day. The hotel itself was very quiet, no issue with any noise (other than the freeway outside), even when it was busy, which tends to be on a Friday / Saturday night. Plenty of parking space and several Gas stations in easy walking distance, the nearest of which serves a large range of wine and beers at a reasonable price.

Greatly needs a renovation. It is a long building with only one elevator so if you live on one end, you have to go all the way to the other end. Hallways are dimly lit with one bulb on the wall every 10 feet and peeling paint. Bedroom is okay, but no microwave or fridge. Consistent hot water tho. For the price, you get what you pay for.

I've been getting rooms here for several months once a week on average and at first was satisfied. Lately not so much. Last night was the last straw we had been moved twice because our air didn't work and after that it still didn't work and the staff acted as if they had no interest in making it right. On top of it all I went to get ice from the one ice machine and it didn't work said "out of order"! I left and will not be going back ever!

Front desk lady as helpful as she could be but the hotel it self look and felt awful. It needs help bad inside and out. Look like blood on the floor drywall falling apart water pressure bad and temp was inconsistent. One moment it would be lukewarm next minute would be scolding hot. I've stayed in some pretty crappy hotels but this one is taking the cake will not be back.

Literally stayed here just because they offered free Wi-Fi and free airport after 2 nights stay. Wi-Fi doesn't even connect ever and I had to pay 20 for a service they advertised as free. Would not recommend.

Checked in around 20:00, got into the room and heat was off. Room was, at best 15C or so. Heater is warming the room, but poorly. I called the front desk to complain and they laid the blame on house keeping. I’m sorry, but house keeping won’t turn the heat off unless instructed by management. TV did not work either. Blankets were thin, and one bed had a dead moth in the blanket. I would certainly not stay here again. EDIT: it turns out the hair drier blew hotter air than the room’s heat/AC unit. When I went to check out the next morning, it took almost 30 minutes for the desk manager to show up. She ignored the phone, other staff ignored people standing at the desk, pretending to not understand English or Spanish. I eventually walked back behind the desk, and into the back room and yelled to find the manager. She repeatedly stated she was coming, but it took 5-10 additional minutes. She refused to refund the night, kept trying to blame housekeeping, even when I said that the heat wasn’t just off, but broken. She did everything she could to ignore other people who also complained that they had no heat.

Not that great but the staff was really nice. Cheap stay can't complain to much. Free breakfast sucked.

Decent enough as far as hotels go. I enjoyed the included breakfast with included bagels, muffins, coffee, and orange juice.

I’m giving this hotel a four star because in my opinion, you get what you paid for. I’m not sure what people expect for $40 bucks a night. This is not the Palmer House or Druy. If you want something nicer then you are going to have to pay for it. I deliberately wore white socks to see how dirty my carpet was in my room. I wore these socks for 7 days while I was in my room, see photo. Very clean! As for breakfast, it is much better than most! I had my choice of fresh fruit every morning! An assortment of fresh bagels and white or wheat bread. An assortment of fresh muffins and cinnamon rolls. Two types of cereal, 2% or skim milk. Orange juice or apple juice. 24 hour coffee service or in room coffee service. My only complaint about breakfast is there was no newspaper. My bathroom was just as clean as the Palmer House and my towels and sheets clean and fresh. No problem with shower, felt great! As far as the staff, I felt they were helpful and engaged in conversation with me. Tiffany checked me in and was very sweet! Free shuttle to airport if you stay 2 nights. So yes a four star for $40 bucks a night, you bet!

The place is being remodeled. Only one Ice machine in the whole building. The vending machine was broke. There is a Gas Station within walking distance.

This is the worst experience, the lady in the front desk was yelling at us, DO NOT RECOMMEND THIS HOTEL! One of the worst horrible hotels I've ever been to. Again absolutely DO NOT RECOMMEND. The first thing they should do is change there attitude, she treated us really wrong.

Nice place if you want to save money. 15 minutes from the airport. Two gas stations in the area and a bar down the block. Not sure if they have HBO because none of the receptionist new.

Advertised airport shuttle but ended up costing more than the room itself. Still has smoking rooms which stink up the whole place. The carpets are gross and the air conditioner/heater is extremely noisy and spews out dirty air. Honestly can’t believe the standards of a hotel can be this low. I stayed in nicer places for cheaper in 3rd world countries.

The lights in the room did not work we had to leave the bathroom light on to see in the room… The room was dirty and smelled… The carpet was sticky and heavily stained… The tub was cracked and caulking missing… The elevator was a bit scary to get on… Wires sticking out from the walls of it… The shuttle driver was 53 mins late picking us up at airport… I will never stay there or any Howard Johnson going forward!

If I didn't have to give it a star I wouldn't. Horrible management even worse staff dirty, breakfast unsanitary, filthy roach, mold filled rooms. Day staff uncooperative night staff ghetto loud ratchet.

Staff was okay. Rooms weren't too bad although had no fridge and only a few snowy channels on the TV. They have smoking rooms which in my opinion is a bad deal even though I am a smoker. There is no bar, no restaurant, and the breakfast is basically bagels and cereal and muffins. Wouldn't be my first choice to stay at, but in a pinch will do. Oh and they charge you $20 for a shuttle to the airport without a voucher.

Very bad hotel, never go plus it's super away from Downtown.

This experience was perfectly quiet staff were prompt and polite. Free breakfast/tv in the morning is always a good thing too. The room was also great, was happy the whole time. Very satisfied.

One star or less. No cameras, broken locks on outside doors. Broken locks might be forgivable if… and only if, they locked rather than let anyone in. On the positive side, they have a working table top Ms. Packman. I do not know if it is still there because nobody moved it. I paid for the room with points… I want them back.

If I could give it zero I would. Horribly rude staff — waited over an hour and twenty minutes for a shuttle (a group of us — 10 people, strangers, all waiting) — shuttle never came. We gave up.

This place had broken air conditioning in all 3 rooms they put me. The shower curtain rods hanging out of the walls. Pitiful sad place for working people trying to get some comfort from the road.

It's good value for the price. The breakfast was less than great, TV and channel selection was subpar but if you don't plan to spend much time in the room, go for it. The only positive was the price.

It was one of the cheapest option, we could find near O'Hare airport. But it had all it could offer under the price, free breakfast, clean rooms, silent and safe atmosphere.

The people at the front desk were wonderful and helpful. The room was another story, very slow cooling ac that maybe got the room to 78 degrees running all night on Max power. And the worst TV channel selection ever. Only 1 clear channel and that was the cartoon Network…

I wouldn't rent this hotel to Brookfield Zoo. The rooms unsanitary/outdated & the hallways look the projects. I waited 20 minutes before I was check in. Secondly my husband had a difficult I'm unlocking room 117. As we entered the room, there was a pungent odor coming from the carpet. I had to ask the overnight worker for carpet deodorizer because it smelled like dirty clothes and foot fungus. She apologized and said that the manager was working on improving the hotel and that they are always overbooked. The employees need to take customer service training & business ethics because the way that the customers who are keeping them in business, are getting treated is not right and I refuse to waste my time or money again on such a low quality Hotel. I recommend that previous customers contact WGN Channel 9 news station so that it can be publicly known about what they're doing since they refuse to accommodate their customers business is more than just money, without the customers your organization would not be able to thrive. I hope and pray that God bring a miracle to this place because it's definitely needed.

The location is inconvenient, it is set behind another building and very difficult to find for taxi and rideshare drivers. Front staff was very rude when checking us in, and ran our card three times without asking, locking us out of our account. We also requested a room with a fridge and microwave, but did not receive one. The room is mediocre, not very visually appealing. Peeling wallpaper, a few bugs, etc. Continental breakfast is a smaller variety, but satisfactory. There doesn't seem to be concierge service. The elevator is almost too small to fit yourself and luggage. Overall not the worst place, but definitely would stay elsewhere.

Room 352, no heat in my room, cold hallways, dirty bathroom, phone didn't work, need updated desperately. We were also there with a group of 13 who stayed on seven other rooms with similar issue's and ok one had an updated painted room.

Theyre rude, hung up on me when I called to ask about tv. None of the channels provided work. Have to body slam the bathroom door for it to close all the way, light switch doesnt work. Had to use the lamps. Front desk receptionist was rude had no people skills, had personal electronics out when we came to check in. Do not stay here. Bad idea.

Location wasn't bad but the rooms was terrible tried several rooms either the heaters didnt work, hot water in the showers didnt work, flooding from the toilet when flushed, the television sets had the large back to them so no HDMI or anything like that so Netflix out the question no digital cable no analog cable just local antenna the hallways to the rooms was cold kind of eerie like walking through the Cabrini Green projects seriously if you ever want to know what that felt like check out Howard Johnsons… The worst experience and I been to alot of Hotels.

A great place to stay! I stayed here for a couple of nights during my visit, and I enjoyed it. The place is a European style boutique hotel; very friendly and courteous staff. The rooms are cozy and comfortable and always clean. I highly recommend them.

This is absolutely the worst hotel in history of the world. They say there is free Wi-Fi but they don't tell you pass word but when they do it doesn't work. The TV are broken so it won't turn on and some rooms don't even have a remote to the tv's. The outlets don't even work out of every room only one outlet works, but it is loose so if you move it the machine stops working. The staff is also extremely rude they push at you and give you bad looks. The elevators can only fit 3 people and the lights flicker every now and then. The rooms has ants and mosquitos. The breakfast over here only has boxed cereal and apple/orange juice. When you make a mess the hotel staff makes you clean it up. I strongly suggest that you do not book this hotel. It is aweful. They say it is smoking free when every room smells like smoke. Some people have asthma so they could have had an asthma attack.

You know in movies when the antagonist has to stay in a dingy hotel and the ambiance is made to look as run down as possible to communicate how the character is evil? Well apparently this is the hotel they had in mind for all those scenes. Highlights of my stay! — Had to sleep on top of the bed sheets to avoid the bedbugs. — Left with a nasty rash either way. — Non-smoking room reeked of cigarettes (In fairness upon arrival I found out that this is a problem they address directly). — Airport transfer took forever to get to the airport itself, had to phone them twice to get picked up. — Internet barely worked. — Mini-fridge was locked. — Got the hotel stay free due to American Airlines delaying my flight and I still feel like I got cheated out of my money. — Really it was more like 15 minutes away from the airport itself. — Whole place looked and smelled like it hadn't been renovated since 1986. — Loud doors made it sound like someone was constantly trying to break into my room. — Only one light in the room worked. — I don't even want to start on the bathroom. — Stains in carpet. — TV in the room didn't work, and it was an old CRT TV. — Loud AC system right next to the beds. Actual good things about my stay: — Friendly staff. — Clean sheets bedbugs notwithstanding.

Worst hotel in the history of hospitality business. Sense of service and care is absolutely absent.

We booked online at a site where it said this "O'Hare airport hotel" had a free shuttle. When we called to ask for the shuttle, first we were told there wasn't one, then that there is a driver but he was sick, and then to call back in 10 minutes. When we called back they still didn't have an answer, but now the front desk informed us even if they could find a shuttle driver it would cost $30 one way. Talked to some taxis and they charge surcharge and tolls for driving out into the suburbs. Long story short we ended up just paying for another place that actually had a free shuttle as advertised and it wasn't really more than paying for transportation to this place. Wish I'd read the reviews about this place first, but now that I have maybe it's a good thing I never even made it to the hotel.

I only filled 1 star because I couldn't review it without it but I would not give this place of trash any good ratings. Their customer service is beyond me. The "Indian receptionist" is the laziest most rudest person I have ever encountered. Most of their rooms DO NOT have RCA connection capability and he was way to lazy to change our rooms. They also over charge you. You get deals online but then they want to charge for this and that as soon as you get there. Horrible place to stay at! beware of this bs place.

United Airlines lodged several of us at the Howard Johnson 20 minutes from O'Hare because of missed connections. If you're reading this and you're on the shuttle from the airport to this hotel, STOP IMMEDIATELY and get off! Save yourself and your dignity — — get a different hotel.

Staff are friendly and helpful. That's all that's good here. Room was dirty, outdated, and falling apart. Take your business elsewhere.

DO NOT STAY AT THIS HOTEL! Extremely rude staff. I have been trying for 1 month to get a receipt for a no-show stay in June and they continuously tell me to call later because the manager Sunny is not there (and they do not give their phone, and the e-mail does not work) — The employee Charles is definitely not willing to help at all — VERY RUDE!. It seems very weird that they cannot provide a receipt for a charge they did (are they laundering money? ). I repeat: do not stay at this hotel. I'll do everything in my power to communicate this horrible and aggravating experience they had put me into.

This hotel is not as close to the Airport as you might think. Taxis charge 50% extra to go to a suburb location like this. It was a place to sleep when I needed it the most. It took them awhile to get my room ready, but that was due to the huge influx of guests from cancelled flights.

Total dump. Agree with all of the comments mentioned. This place is not even worth the time to list all the negatives. We were put here by United after they cancelled our flight and was the absolute worst hotel I've ever stepped foot in. Avoid at all costs — even if flight gets cancelled. Make them put you up somewhere else. No clue how this place is still open and shocked that United would put up any of their customers here after an error on their part. If a "no stars" rating was an option, this place would take it home.

Not the best hotel. The hallway carpets are dirty and stained, didn't notice any oder and I was in a smoking room on the first floor. Staff was very helpful, and very very nice. The room appeared to be clean but it seemed as if everything was just wiped down and NOT disinfected, NOT vacuumed, NOT washed, just wiped down. I found garbage under the bed from who knows how many rents ago. The bed was comfortable, but the blankets had burn marks all over from cigarettes from previous renters. The alarm clock was broken along with one lamp, I couldn't find an extra outlet for my phone when I did (behind the bed) the outlet sparked and I realized there was a hole in the wall where I would plug it in and I got shocked. The TV Chanels were not in the order written on the info, has to write it down so Iknew what was on each channel, cartoon network was not on any channel, the Channel that was said to be cartoon network had porn on at night (was not happy with this at all, since my son was with me, either way I would not have liked this happening) The bathroom was clean (or appeared to be) but the toilets were low flush meaning I had to flush extra times no matter what was put in the toilet. (Meaning number one or two lol) the one thing I must add was that the rooms were very quiet and no one ever bothered me at all nor did I ever heir anyone the entire time I was in my room or see another for that matter.
