Don't waste your time here. Place is so filthy and straight out of the 70's. We really thought the hanging fly traps were a nice touch. Oh, and the taste didn't work. Plumbing issues as well. We were there for 20 minutes and couldn't even get a refund.

First and last time staying here. We knew the rooms were small and outdated. It’s an old motel. The view and to stay close to the inlet are why chose to stay here. We arrived Friday and leave today. No clean towels were available on Saturday. We had to make a complaint for noise in the next room. After 2 calls to the front desk and 2 to the police we gave up. Both telling us there is really nothing they could do. Finally quieted down around 3am, could still hear their TV blaring all night. We needed to get up early the next day to leave as my husband has to work 2nd shift when we get home today.

We are currently here staying for a week! This location couldn’t have been better! It’s quiet and beautiful! Perfect for fishing, relaxing, swimming and grilling all at the same time! The rooms are fairly small, but for a couple like myself and S/O, we are managing fine! They also have bigger “apartment” type rooms as well! Everything worked as it should, the rooms are clean and the staff are friendly and happy! If you are looking for a spot for a nice little getaway…. This place is it! Once this vacation is over… We are definitely coming back!

We were very skeptical of staying here after already booking the room then checking reviews. No its not a 5 star hotel and it is extremely outdated but it was worth the money. We had an amazing view of the inlet and our neighbors were very friendly. It looks a little shady but everyone was nice, staff as well.

My husband can sit and look out over the bay while I lay out on the beach. We can walk to everything. Three steps and we have the best breakfast and bloody Mary’s that O. C has to offer.

It’s nice and private. Get the best of both worlds. The bay and the ocean right at your reach. Access to the boardwalk. A great place for your money. Fun piers, fishing, swimming pool, a real prize.

The location is awesome, friendly staff! Rooms are small, but didn't spend a lot of time there. Couch no back cushions, bathroom door looked like it was kicked, needs paint and cosmetic stuff in bathrooms.

Terrible room, very small, walks, doors and AC dirty. Mini blinds broken, no curtains. Poor service, poor access. Only plus was how close it was to the boardwalk, wouldn't recommend it.

Was a bit slow to get our room checked in. Room was properly air conditioned which is a huge plus. Outlets aren't great and my phone charger tends to fall out a lot, BUT it works I suppose. Bathroom is fine but there isn't a good tub stopper so unable to take any baths. The view is great however and the bed is extremely comfortable.

Great location! Amazing view from the Bayside of motel. My mom and I felt totally safe staying here. It's lighted really well at night. Renovations needed, but not bad for the price, location, safety and convenience of not having to move our car out of hotel's parking lot. My biggest beef was the only available outlet near our bed was unaccessible, because the headboard was covering it up. Thankfully we had usable outlets in the bathroom. My mom and I are planning to return in 2019. Worth staying, but it's definitely a beach motel.

Small rooms or I would of gave it 5 stars! and the pool closes at 7 which sucked! but. The Hotel has a fantastic view, Wonderful service! The staff was Excellent! Thank You Eric! You made my Vacation memorable!

PROS — Friendly staff. Some rooms have a nice ocean view. Has it's own beach area and kids play area. Close walk to beach. Fishing right outside. Decent parking. CONS — rooms are out dated and small. Cleanliness is questionable. OVERALL — It's a good place to stay if you won't be spending too much time in the room. This review only speaks for the single rooms on the top deck. I cannot speak of the larger rooms.

My husband and I stayed 3 nights June 21st — June 24th 2018. We had the 1 room full size bed and shower room on the 2nd floor with joint balcony. The room was very small approximately 10x10 and the shower bathroom was the size of a linen closet. Rooms are very outdated and somewhat dirty. Bed had a big sink hole in the middle and very uncomfortable. The absolute only thing this place has is a great location for fishing the pier and the boardwalk. I would not stay here again. Hotel has to be at least clean and comfortable even if not spending much time in it.

This place is great for short get away and it is prices very competitively, I had a w ondeful experience here and I would consider returning. I was expecting worse and it turned out to be quite nice! The staff is alittle rough around the edges but easy to get along with! It comes with access to a huge bay side pier and it is a 4 minute walk to the beach and boardwalk!

We have been staying at the Oceanic for several years and absolutely wouldn’t stay anywhere else. The staff is always friendly, room is clean, and the view is worth a million bucks. My husband loves to fish, so between fishing from the wall to the Oceanic Fishing Pier, it’s great. We love the atmosphere. It’s very laid back and relaxing.

We have been coming the Oceanic for about 10 years or so. The staff here are super friendly and the view is fabulous! This is an older place, so they are working on updating the rooms. My daughter and I wanted to stay another night and they were very accommodating and friendly. We had noticed after we got home that we had left something behind. A little portable speaker valued at around $30. I called them, and Eric in the office is actually mailing it out to us since we are 3 hours away! The Oceanic is right at the beginning of the boardwalk and you also have a great view of the bay. I would recommend this place to family and friends! Thank you Oceanic!

Dont be fooled by the website pictures they are lies, the only good thing about this place is the location, they need alot of upgrading to do I booked this place based on the pictures and locations I'm very disappointed the bathrooms were dirty and the furniture needs major upgrades not what I saw on the website stood there from June 8 thru June 10 not even the outside is the same as they advertise Ppl please dont do the mistake I did The staff was friendly.

Rooms are not as shown on there web page. We booked a room with 2 beds and 2 pull out sofas but that's not what we got. They gave us a room with 2 beds and I small pull out love seat for 6 people. Black mold in bathroom behind the door outside the shower. There are no hammocks like u see on the pics. Small beach spot for people that stay there. But other then that the trip was great. Staff very nice.

Great motel but if you want a room with a kitchen bring your own cooking supplies.

Location couldn't be better, right next to the water, board walk, and stores. The rooms weren't very high quality but it's a place to sleep after you've been out all day.

A male member of the housekeeping staff stole something from our bathroom while cleaning it. Once he was confronted he tried hiding it, saying it wasn't him, and blamed another staff member. The owner didn't seem to care at all that this happened. Not to mention the outdated dirty musty room. Location and price were the only positives. But be careful you get what you pay for.

My boyfriend and I stayed here twice this summer. We first came down the first week of June and fell in love. The rooms are outdated and small, but if you're at the beach and in your room the whole time, then you might as well splurge on a fancy hotel. This place was perfect. The location is unbeatable and the price is fantastic. We came home after a wonderful long weekend trip and called the next day to book another weekend in late September. When I called I had specifically asked for the room we were in last time or one beside it. The inlet view on the first floor is the best. You have your own little beach walkout and you're right on the water. The woman I booked with said it wouldn't be a problem and we could be in room 52 again. Fast forward to September, we arrived and went to check in and get our room keys. When checking in I woman gave us our receipt and at the top was room 52 crossed off, and another room written in. We had been moved to the other side of the hotel. This usually isn't a big deal, but when booking I was told I would be put in room 52, like I obviously was and then switched. I mentioned it to the woman and she said unfortunately it was marked as requested and another party had requested the whole first floor. She was kind enough to give us a room on the side of the hotel I wanted, but I felt a little annoyed that I was moved around to accommodate others.

The view is awesome! You can see sunset over the bay every single night, weather permitting. The location is down near the inlet in Ocean City and there are plenty of things nearby that are within walking distance. The boardwalk is a block over and the Tram Car Start is right there also. There are rides for the kids right there. There is a fishing pier. If you decide you want to go uptown, the bus terminal is a block and a half away which was great. The room was great as well. The staff was friendly and polite.

Have been to ocean city many times this was the first time we have stayed at oceanic. We enjoyed it there. Great location, people were very nice, rooms are good could use a little updating, but we would definitely stay there again!

Amazing location. Loved it so much. We got two queen beds facing the pool for 2 adults 2 kids (6 and 3). We could literally see a portion of the Oceanic Fishing Pier from our window. Walking distance from almost everything. My only con is that the room we had was really small. We spent three days/ two nights there so we packed a good amount and we were struggling to move around in the room. Other than that we all loved it.

The staff was amazing and very friendly! The location is perfect. I was afraid the noise from the rides close by would be an issue, but that was not the case at all. — The website, however, is very misleading. My boyfriend and I made it work, but the room was incredibly small. All of the reviews were correct when they described the rooms & stated that the entire place needs renovated. There are some stains, paint was peeling, and there was rust. The room was clean, though! The rooms are just very outdated and make it seem as if they were dirty. We double checked and looked for bed bugs — none of which were found. We did not have any type of problem with any ants or flys (mentioned in numerous other reviews). I will admit at first I was sketched out. But it grew on us and we would stay there again! Hope this review helps!

Hands down the worst motel experience of my life. Tried not to believe the negative reviews, but they were all correct. Everything from the box size rooms to the feces on the bathroom floor to everything falling apart. Left without even staying one night the "no refunds" sign right above the front desk told it all. Absolutely nothing like the website. Shame on them!

It is a decent place for the price, could use some updated decor and the bathroom made larger. Parking was a horrible, we left to go eat dinner and came back and there was now parking went into the office to say something only to find out they share a parking lot with 3-4 other business. If I pay almost $1000 to stay here on vacation I should have a parking spot to park in, what is the point in parking permits if you just let people park in your lot that are not staying in your facility. It make you not want to drive anywhere for fear of not having a place to park when you get back. The staff was friendly however we will not be staying here again.

Holy hand grenades! What a dump! Tiny rooms. Needs an update & a good cleaning! The queen size beds are barely full size. The bathroom has a kindergarten size commode, a door that looks like it went through a fire, rusty & shabby fixtures, not even a towel hook! Only one extra outlet. In the bathroom! For God's sake, they give you a complimentary fly swatter! Great location, except when it RAINS! It 's in a zone prone to flooding! Not happy at all! This place wasn't all that cheap! Next time will reserve Bonita Beach, tge Dunes, or Breakers. Worth a few extra bucks!

I've stayed here twice now. Once with my motorcycle club and then again with my whole family. What really sells this place is the location. If you want close proximity to the beach, pier rides, boardwalk and popular local bars then this place is the sweet spot without spending a small fortune. The staff has always been extremely friendly and accommodating. They have a little beach on the Bay side, a nice clean pool and a playground. We had a great view of the inlet. Now the gritty. The rooms are screaming for an update! They are old, tired and dirty. There could be more effort into cleaning and sanitizing. However, the forehand comments and accommodations outweigh the uncleanliness of the room. Who goes to the beach to sit in a room anyway?

Out door area is wonderful for the kids and the location is awesome, super close to boardwalk and can fish right outside your door which is why it sucks when we finally saw our room. It was filthy! Thank god I brought my own cleaning supplies and disinfectant. The rooms were not like the ones depicted on their website that we booked and we're dirty, smelly and run down. The mirror in the bathroom had toothpaste and saliva splatter all over it and the floors looked they haven't been vacuumed in years, super dusty, dirty and dead bugs on the walls. I find it hard to believe they did anything more than change the bed sheets if even that before letting us know our room is ready. So gross.

I been going there a number of years. My wife and I love it thrre. The people that run the place were especially noce! The rooms were good and reasonably price. We plan to go again soon.

The Motel was a great place for the day it has a great view of the bay. The rooms were small but it worked great for just me and my girl. I loved that the pier is right beside the hotel. I would highly recommend this place.

Internet was good. It's right by the bay and cable TV worked. The next door neighbors stayed up past midnight with their TV going and when they went out to smoke, it permeated through the walls and you could smell it. It's a basic motel. Shower and bed. Not anything you'd write home about or compare to a Marriott or Hilton… or even a motel 6. It needs a good updating.

The location of this place is absolutely perfect, however they need to take better care of the rooms. Our TV didn't work it was unpainted replaced wood on the walls, and there was definitely an issue with the electrical as the light switch shut off intermittently. All that being said the price is absolutely Fantastic Four where it was and the little Beach area behind the hotel on the bay is worth the little issues.

I stayed at the oceanic on June 10 till the 13th. It was a wonderful experience. Staff was very nice. Room was a little small but all we needed for 2 people. We had a beautiful view of the bay and we were close to all attractions. I can't wait to stay again soon. Oh and the bed was super comfy.

Definitely our favorite place in oc. Not fancy, but with the location and the view, who cares. This is what being here is all about.

Okay, so I have to be fair about this review. This is not a Marriott hotel but it's not super bad either. If you are a person looking for a place to rest your head and nothing else, this is your place. On the other hand, if you are looking for a place that is up to date and modern this is far from it. They only thing that keeps this motel going is the location and outdoor amenities that are on the property. Pretty shabby, I have to admit, but if you are staying for one-two nights it's not that bad. Staff is friendly and parking is not a hassle. The staff doesn't give you problems like most of the cheap motels in Ocean City do — so there's a major plus :) Overall I was satisfied, but I wouldn't recommend this place to someone who has high standards.

Overpriced dive, horrible Wi-Fi, bathroom wasn't even up to code, the no smoking policy is bullshit considering people smoke right outside and ot comes in through the ac. Let people smoke in the rooms and you might be worth dealing with the bad rooms and Wi-Fi.

In my opinion this place is really going down hill and may now be one of the worst places to stay in OC. I don't think the carpet has been upgraded since we started staying here over 10 years ago. I know for a fact that it wasn't vacuumed in the 5 days we were there. The stairway smelled like vomit and the toilet never stopped running. The fold away cot in the room wasn't fit for an inmate in prison. A family reunion had pretty much taken over the hotel and because their money was better than mine and they were allowed more than one vehicle per room, I could never find a parking spot. Let's talk about what I saw outside. People doing drugs in the rocking chairs, a picnic bench that was set on fire, rowdy kids throwing ice at vehicles and windows and a couple doing something else that is supposed to happen behind closed doors. All of this and the office staff did NOTHING to stop any of it! Never again will they get my money.

Great hotel! Clean and you get more than you pay for. The staff are friendly and helpful. Not sure why anyone would write a bad review. It is not the Hyatt, but neither are the prices. The view is priceless and location is perfect! Whether you go as a family or with friends, I would highy recommend this Motel.

If it were possible to give ZERO stars I totally would. Saying it has drafty rooms is an understatement. I've never had the displeasure of being able to SEE THROUGH A WOODEN DOOR. The amount of flies makes me think of the original Amittyville Horror. The entire room is lined with mold and mildew. They neglected to clean under any of the furniture. There's hair from previous occupants wiped all over the walls (filthy rag anyone? ) The water goes from boiling to freezing back to boiling at random times so be careful! We had to move to a different room because the people above us were LOUD AS HELL. Let's not forget first room we stayed in was too far away from the office to get a Wi-Fi signal strong enough to use. Not to mention we were promised a kitchen and in-unit washer and dryers. That is a complete fabrication seeing that the cottages pictured online are currently unavailable and the only microwave on the property is in the 'oh too often closed' main office. This was a trip to save money but ended up being A LOT more expensive than planned. You might as well pay a little more for some actual amenities. All in all. You will be able to hear everyone and everything at the motel, feel every breeze, and have a fridge that smells like sitting fish.

We just got back from our annual family vacation to Ocean City Md. We have been staying at the Oceanic for about 15 years now, I cant see why people put up bad remarks about this place, its not the ritz, but the rooms are clean, less expensive than on the boardwalk, ocean 15 steps from our room, free fishing, wonderful hotel family. We get Beverly as our housekeeper every year I always ask for her she is so good makes sure we have everything we need just ask and its done. We love the oceanic and will continue to go there as long as the Good Lord let us. Thank you oceanic staff for making our vacation so nice again this year love you guys see ya next year.

I stayed in the small patio room the end of June 2014. CONS I can't speak for other rooms at this motel, but do not stay in this room unless you don't mind staying in a closet. The single double bed that occupies the room barely fits within the parameters. The bathroom door can't even open fully because it hits the bed. The bathroom reflects upon the size of the room as well. It's comparable to a camping trailer shower and sink. The website does however describe the room as 'very tiny-no view' so the size I couldn't complain much about. The water temperature however went from extreme cold to scalding hot — back and forth without warning. Being confined in a tiny shower stall with no room to move, this was very unpleasant. There were a few flies in the room as well. PROS The staff was very friendly. I have no complaints there. The motel's overall view is also awesome and the location is very convenient to the boardwalk, carnival, bus stop etc. The fishing pier located directly next to the motel is also accessible for free use during your stay which is very valuable if you enjoy fishing. My stay also included a 20% off purchase at Harrison's restaurant across the street which featured a view of the inlet during dinner. All in all you get what you pay for with this motel. Not bad, but not brag worthy either.

Stayed for four days over Labor Day weekend, booked a few months in advance so I payed about $100 a night after tax/fees. I'll be real with you, this is THE COOLEST BUDGET HOTEL I'VE STAYED AT. If you are looking for "luxury" or even "nice, " then stay somewhere and expect to fork over another hundred dollars a night, but for what we wanted it was MORE THAN EXCELLENT. THE BAD: Actually, there is no wireless internet. Do not count on there being internet. But you are on vacation, and you probably have a smart phone. Suck it up. My single bed room was tiny. There was enough space to walk around the bed, and that was all. No major renovations have taken place since the 1960s. The bathroom/walls/carpet reflect this. This is not a Holiday Inn. You will hear screaming from the amusement pier well into the night. It didn't bother me, but I've your a rural person or light sleeper be aware. There are no curtains, and the blinds do little to block the BLARING SUNLIGHT in the mornings. We didn't sleep in, so it was no issue. The 1996 Zenith television got terrible Dish Network reception. If I had wanted to seriously watch a show or movie, I probably would have been frustrated. There is no DVD player. the good: literally the best location imaginable. The boardwalk begins across the street. The beach is 100 yards away. We woke up early to run and saw WILD PONIES on the beach at Assateague island, which is right across the water.

Like the smell of cat pee? then this is your place. room was awful; filthy, old, broken down — just vile. From the swarms of flies to the blood on the comforter it was an across-the-board nightmare. We ended up there when trying to find a place at the last minute — lesson learned; plan ahead. But the bright side is that we only paid $200 per night for this palace. Tip to anybody else who's looking for a place at the last minute; there's a reason that the Oceanic still has availability when nobody else does. Sleep in your car; you'll be less skeeved out.

The staff is very friendly and helpful even let me leave my car there before I checked in and let me leave it there after checkout. Its a nice cheap couples hotel we had the bay view queen room. Its at the beginning of the boardwalk and maybe a 3min walk to the beach. The staff kept the the room very clean and there is free ice machine. About the only downside is the bathrooms are a little small and motel could use a face lift but for the location and the price it is unbeatable.

Wonderful Motel. :) Keep in mind, this is a Motel, not a Hotel. Do not expect the Ritz. Staff were honest and very nice. I had room 57. Good room, details need updating (lamp shades, blinds, headboard, etc. ) a bit dated. Clean. New fixtures installed. :) Bouncy bed, lots of pillows. :) TV, closet, standing shower, folding luggage rack, soaps, towels, tissues, outside chairs, all good perks. Window AC a bit noisy but live-able. Great view of the inlet (sans the advertizing for skidoos — hopefully it will move soon. ).
