Amazing accommodation all around! Beach bar and restaurant is good and convenient. Access to the beach fabulous! Definitely would stay again!

We will definitely be back again the room and view were picture perfect and close to everything.

I remember coming here every time my family and I come to OC and go to this hotel and have a good hearty breakfast. They had it set up as a buffet style. Loved it.

Had a room with a stove, refrigerator, coffee pot, toaster, stove, dishes and pans. Great place ocean side on boardwalk.

We stayed here for July 4th, and the staff just randomly walks in your room even when it is locked and has a privacy tag on the door. No Fridge or Microwaves in some rooms also.

Pictures of the rooms on the website is NOT what you get! Very dirty and falling apart! We checked out because of this and they won’t give a refund, I was told to contact the manager Mike, I have called twice (once I was told he wasn’t there) and once I left a voice mail and had no return call! I took actual pictures of the room you will get if anyone wants to see them before you book! Also the smell some one smoking pot on our floor was noticeable on the entire floor when we were leaving.

The hotel staff in the late evening are very unprofessional. As a hotel guest, I should not be expected to go to the office next door, at 11pm in the evening to retrieve a remote for a tv. I was rudely hung up on when called a second time for the status of the delivery of the remote, then lied to when questioned the reason why. Another desk clerk said it wasn’t her mother f… job… I will never stay here again, nor do I recommend these accommodations to anyone.

I stayed at the beach hotel August 2-5, 2018. We arrived, and had a very easy time checking in and getting to our room. However, on the first night, a cockroach appeared by our food. Staying with a friend who had a phobia of cockroaches, we went to the front desk to ask for another room. This was around 9 pm. The desk attendant laughed at us, saying "It's just a roach. " Realizing his mistake, him and the other 2nd Shift employees worked to move us to another room. The gentleman who helped us move was amazing! However, when we got to the next room, it smelled musty. It wasn't until later that we realized our bathroom walls were covered in black mold. We returned to the front desk, only to be told there was nothing more to be done that night. We had a very unsettling night with little rest. We were up early the next morning waiting to talk to a manager. Once we met, he was very pleasant and very understanding. He promised us a 50% refund for our problems. It's now August 27, 2018, and I have not received the refund. So, after nearly 4 weeks of inaction, I decided that the Beach Plaza Hotel has earned 1-star.

We rented a three-bedroom suite for a weekend stay to say goodbye to the summer. It was less than a block away from the boardwalk, and from there it took less than half an hour to get downtown, depending on how much dilly dallying was done. The room was nice, but it was weird that there was one King bed, one queen, and two twins. Nice common dining and hanging out room with a small separate kitchen. I would go back — ended up being less than $90 per person per night.

This was our first visit to Ocean City and The Beach Plaza was, for the most part, a wonderful place to stay! We had an ocean view room which was great. The only things we were disappointed about is the lack of hooks (or a folding drying rack) to help dry our wet and sandy beach towels and bathing suits that we had daily, (as there wasn't a balcony to do so). Also, a room safe would've been helpful, so we wouldn't have had to carry our valuables around with us. But the location couldn't be more perfect — — on the boardwalk and walking distance to everything, but slightly further away from the loud stores and restaurants. Plus, the porch rocking chairs were everything!

This is an awesome magical place. My family stayed in one of the 3 bedroom apartments and it was beautiful and clean and had many amenities. Only a 2 minute walk to the beach. The staff was friendly and helpful. Maid service daily to replenish towels and sweep out the sand and remove garbage. I was surprised to have maid service in the apartment. There is a big front porch on the main hotel you are welcome to sit and people watch. The little beach bar is fun and the bar tender is fast and hardworking. I haven't eaten at the restaurant but it's always busy and smells great. If I come back to ocean city would definitely stay here again. Glad I have 3 more days to enjoy here.

I have been coming here for the past 5 years for my anniversary and do enjoy the oceanfront efficiency rooms. I have always had a wonderful time with no issues. One reason I enjoy this place so much is because it is far enough away from the nightlife to be peaceful but close enough to walk to the different events if I want to go to any. I will say though I was quite disappointed with the bar next door. It was so loud and sounded like they were singing the karaoke in the bedroom. I wasn't able to fall asleep until after 1-1:30 am. I am considering not returning next summer if that bar is still there. I will say my room was very clean and everyone was polite and courteous.

First I will start by saying, I had a lot of fun in Ocean City, but I would never stay here again. The lady at the front desk ignored me for a good 3 minutes upon arriving. The check in was fast though. No one in this hotel says good morning, you say good morning and they just look at you. I past numerous hotels on the boardwalk and they all greet you good morning. They only clean your room before you arrive. We stayed 4 nights. Housekeeping only makes your bed and gives towels. Mind you they are very stingy with giving towels. One day we came back to the hotel, the bed was made but no towels. Being a hotel on the beach, you know your guests go to the beach, the bathroom floor should be mopped and the rugs vacuumed every day. We had to walk with sandals on at all times otherwise we had dirt and sand on them. It was disgusting. Toilet and tub are so old with black stains. No room balcony and no pool. There are many nice hotels on the boardwalk, do your homework… I wish I did.

Wonderful place to stay for vacation. Stayed at the 3BDR apartments. Kids loved everything and staff was always helpful with service. Would definitely stay here again.

Front desk people were very accommodating, when our room wasn’t ready an hour after checking time. I had my 6 month old who was getting cranky and our room still wasn’t ready so they ended up upgrading our room from a 2-bed efficiency to a 1 br apartment with kitchen! The apartment was clean, and while the kitchen was outdated, it was perfect for our needs. Super convenient as you can walk straight out onto the beach or boardwalk!

Worth the money. In a perfect location, and amazing entrance to board walk, what more would you want? They have in house restaurant, bar and pub. The only thing I didn't like is most of the rooms don't have nice beach views.

We stay at Beach Plaza every year for the past six years and absolutely love it. The staff is amazing and so helpful. The cleaning staff is very thorough. They keep the place looking amazing. The restaurant and other shops are great to have at the same location. We haven't been disappointed once with the hotel or the staff. Enjoy staying every year and can't wait to come back next year. We stayed in a 3 bedroom 2 bath apartment Memorial Day weekend & the apartment was nice & renovated, spacious & clean. I was expecting it to be run down by the look of the previous photos but they remodeled it nicely. The apartments were less than a block away from the boardwalk. The staff was very friendly and helpful & over all we enjoyed our stay. We’ll definitely be back.

I am writing this as I sit in the lobby of the hotel, waiting on a manager I was told would be in at 9am. Its 10am and shes still not here. The hotel itself I would give a B. The staff would fail just for being straight rude. Debbie, the older woman was friendly the first time I stopped down and asked to speak with the manager. While waiting to ask for the manager, she hung up on a customer who called to request an early check-in time. At that point it was coming up on 9am, the time I was told the manager would be available. I understood her not being here the 1st time. The second time, she rudely rolled her eyes at me, but offered coffee. Here it is, over an hour past time for the manager to have arrived (1 hour before check-out) and she's being very rude with customers. Customers who are trying to pay for a friend's room, because the hotel screwed up the reservation and over charged them. HA! That's the same exact reason I'm waiting for the manager. It seems she may be aware of the situation, being that she's running 15 minutes behind for the past hour+. I think based off of integrity, and lack of respect, that I would never ever reccomend this place to anyone! I hope she arrives before 11! I may post a second review after speaking with her, if I ever get to… Wish me luck!

Great hotel. We would stay there again. Parking was a little bit tough but not too bad.

An unbelievable jem on the boardwalk, Friday and Saturday nights, piano bar, if you like to listen to listen to standards sung to perfection and enjoy delicious cocktails, definitely go there.

The food was great. The service was awesome as well. No complaints at all.

If I could rate it a zero I would. I walked in the room and immediately got on the phone to reserve another hotel. The pictures are not what anything looks like. It smelled, the room was dirty. There was a hole in the wall. I'm not picky by far but there was absolutely no way I would stay there.

We've stayed here before. We absolutely love the charm and quirkiness of this place. The artwork, the furnishings are amazing. The rooms are clean comfortable and spacious. And the VIEW! WOW! Its right in the middle of the action, right on the boardwalk, yet if you want a quiet place to retreat this is your place. One of the best places we've stayed in Ocean City.

Wonderful place with the old time hotel feel. I would say best for just adults alone with no kids. This hotel is older, so if you have kids a more modern hotel would suffice. Also would suggest the ocean front rooms. AMAZING view! Watch the water temp in the shower. It gets cold very quick but all in all, it was a great experience.

Very clean. It was like stepping back in time. Atmosphere was great. Romantic dining with table lamps in Afonsos reastaurant on sight. Piano bar, and rocking chairs on front porch I can not wait to return.

Just checked out from the hotel, had problem with reservation when checked in the system was not updated, manager on duty and other stuff were able to solve the problem we loved the rooms that they offer to us they are more convenient than the one that we have reserved. Thanks to the excellent customer services. We will return next year.

The place is great. The furniture on the rooms and the apartment is too old needs a lot of work to look like the photos it doesn't deserve then one star.

If you like the Boardwalk, you could do worse. This is a very typical OCMD Boardwalk hotel. The rooms are clean though and there is an interesting ambiance with the piano bar, rockers on the porch, restaurant and a little pub below. Plenty of hot water and pressure in the shower. But be warned, the walls are thin and the sun does let in a good amount of outside noise so if you are a light sleeper, you might want ear plugs. Door keys are actual keys and there are no fridges or microwaves in the regular rooms. The staff is pleasant though and you don't stay on the boardwalk for the luxury room, do you?

Only good things to say, really. It was situated right on the boardwalk, a stone's throw from the beach and right in the middle of all sorts of entertainment for all ages. Room was spacious and clean with no issues whatsoever. Staff were kind and courteous, and more than happy to help with whatever we needed.

For someone who wanted hassle free place this was perfect for us who are younger and less picky. I just needed a fridge, air conditioner and on the boardwalk. It beat my expectations. There are rocking chairs on the front and the apartments (where we stayed) had plenty of seating in the front for the ocean view. It's right on the boardwalk and beach. If we needed something it wasn't far. The air cond worked fine, and we had no issues. It's NOT a 5 star hotel so idk why people complain about it. It is dirty around the window seals in the one window in the bathroom and the bottom of the tub has wear of dirt but most hotels I have been to have so it didn't bother us to put a towel down on it. The only complaint I had was the maids were always upset that people weren't out there rooms when they were cleaning but I mean they were going around around 9am cleaning when check out isn't until 11. We sat outside and the one maid stormed off when she got to the third door and the people told them to come back later. The maids must not have a schedule because they cleaned our room at 3pm which was inconvient when we came back to start chainging. This hotel met my expectations and I will be booking with them again.

I Just stayed in the 3 bedroom apt the pic they show from the outside facing the ocean is not what I got thats fine but what I did get was a not so clean place to stay the one shower had hair in it before we used it the other bathroom had a tub that my grandson couldnt use bc it didnt have a plug so trying to give a 2 yr old a shower was not fun also they never cleaned one day they came in to give us more towels but never cleaned the bathrooms bc the tub still had sand it from the night before and than when leaving the person at the desk never asked how are stay was, it was hard to stay there and we had to stay a extra day but we knew everything was booked up, so I dont think we will be saying there again,

I went here for years always had the same room in the efficiencies right off the boardwalk and not too far from the inlet. But far enough to stay away from all the craziness the only downside is the facilities are slightly outdated. But that's also a plus side of its charm.

The housekeeping staff are wonderful. So friendly and efficient!

Cleanliness was OK. We were in a separate building across from the actual hotel. Did not interact with the staff.

This hotel gives a very misleading feel when you walk into the lobby. The visual puts you in the mind of vintage art deco. This is until you go upstairs and enter the room. You are quickly drawn back to the old, dirty, outdated feeling that you receive from the outside of the hotel. The staff was friendly but very nonchalant. Be very specific when making reservations, as the rooms do not come with refrigerators or microwaves. There is a microwave in the hotel, but they will not let you use it and will tell you that there is no microwave in the whole building (EXACTLY). They do have an additional building that is more apartment styled however, this is more shabby than the hotel itself and is the size of a bedroom closet. Upon entering my room, it became quite obvious that housekeeping is the least efficient department in the Plaza. The sheets and pillows had stains on them. There was no iron in the room. There were sunglasses behind the chair from a previous guest. The windows were filthy, the bathroom was filthy, to the point where I had to clean it myself. In addition, the room doors are NOT computerized. They are old-school doors with locks and keys. The only thing that does come standard, is the fact that this hotel has an ice machine (LOL). The twist to that is, the ice machine is just as old and crummy as the rest of the hotel, in a dirty room, with openings in the wall that expose electrical wires.

Always my first choice. Just stayed at the 1 bed room apartment and the staff was beyond excellent and accommodating. Even the security was nice and cool. Highly recommend.

Hotel and their Staff were Fabulous and very Accommodating. The set up is Great, we had the room that slept 8. Great parking and housekeeping was on time. Will stay again. Pinks from Delaware.

Rooms were smaller but very clean and nice.

This is our third year of staying in the apartments. Everything was clean. The apartment could use some updates. NEw wallpaper and blinds. Staff was great always there to help. We do like the location and plan to stay here again.

The lobby was like walking into a time warp. I was very dark. But the House Keeping staff was AWESOME. Our room was very clean and bright. Had an awesome stay. I would go back.

My daughter has reported that the room was clean and nice. The bathroom was a little dated, but she is a bit spoiled. For her first vaca without mom and dad it was a gret place and she thinks we would like it as a family. Thanks to Ms. Debbie who made it easier for a mothers peace of mind.

Terrible! Great prices but I wouldnt waste your money. Has a disgusting smell all through the entire hotel. Disgustingly dirty rooms. Everything is old and outdated beds are uncomfortable. The windows were even dirty this place probably hasnt been cleaned in years.

It is a old hotel but it is beautiful. Like walking back in time. Quiet, clean, right on the boardwalk. Just a lot of old world charm. I liked it very much. The elevator was a nightmare. It is the original one. So very slow and the door closed very fast but again it's like you stepping back in time. So you kind of have to put up with a little inconveniences. It did have a cute bar on the lobby floor and plenty of shopping an ice cream place in same building and a store there to that had a little bit of everything.
