Nice staff. Enjoyed the wine tasting. The room was very out dated! Lights didn't work with the exception of one of the bathroom's light. No outlets to charge your cell phone. After reading reviews, I didn't realize there were updated rooms. Wouldn't recommend this place.

This is a quiet, not fancy stay close to Mammoth Park, (15 Min. ) We didn't have a fridge or microwave, but didn't need it since we were out at attractions, and only need someplace to come back to and relax and have a drink at their bar area. The surrounding grounds are a pleasant get away from the light pollution and we were able to enjoy the star filled sky. The friendly staff pointed out several local places to eat; which were excellent; outside of their own dinning room. We are looking forward to visiting again with the intention of bringing our firearms for their ranges and clubs for the large open golf coarse.

Family has been coming here for years and they have never let us down. Hotel staff are sweet. Resort is close to town, winery is fun and affordable. Bartender very kind. Would recommend.

The rooms are a little old, window unit AC, older tube TVs etc. But the staff was super friendly.

Good food and a great price. Nice quiet hotel. Golf course and rooms have made a drastic improvement over last year.

Quaint and pleasant place. Attended a wedding here and now I'd like to go back.

Staff were super friendly and helpful, and I like the lodge aspect. A little eccentric in that there's a winery, hotel, restaurant, and gun range all in one. Visiting off season, this review may not be fully applicable all the time. Food was delicious in the restaurant but they ran with minimal staff & I had a hard time getting a cup of coffee during the breakfast buffet and never managed a refill. The view from our room was lovely & the room itself was spacious with a couch & loveseat in addition to a queen bed with a firm but comfortable enough mattress. The gun aspect was in full force with decor & that might be a problem for anyone who is anti-gun. I really liked the 70s feel overall & wanted to rate this higher because the staff were so kind but in honesty I feel the $100 for the room was a bit pricey for the area. Perhaps during the summer months it is more fitting.

We were traveling and looking for a place to eat, but didn’t want the typical franchise fast food. Long story short, the restaurant was closed, but the cook was on-site doing inventory and opened up the kitchen, fired up the cooking equipment and served us a wonderful lunch for seven. Super attitude, great views and real nice facilities. Will plan for another visit the next time we go in that direction again.

It was a cozy, rustic experience staying at Park Mammoth, but for the price the amenities did not meet expectation. The sauna and pool were defunct and probably haven't been open for a while. Our room had already been reserved by a few hundred lady bugs that got in through multiple broken and unsealed windows. Hardly saw a staff member all weekend and nothing on site ever seemed open, but this may be due to the time of year we stayed. We did receive a fresh bag of towels daily. If you're looking for bare minimum, this place does the trick. If you want more needs and wants catered to for lower prices, I'd suggest a chain hotel.

Interesting place. They have a lot of shoots and are proud members on the NRA. We didn't get any service in the winery and staff essentially acted like we were invisible. Maybe it's a "you gotta know someone" kind of place.

I always enjoy the time I get to spend at Rockcastle. Friendly staff who will take care of you.

Desperately needs and update and comtinental breakfast. Service was very good despite design and decor.

Rooms are dated but the staff is excellent. The food is great, the bar is always well stocked, and April takes good care of you.

I've been staying here for 6 years at the same time of year and the place is improving. It's still a basic 50's type Lodge hotel. But hell you can over look a lot when it provides pretty good value for money and has a gun range and golf course on the property.

So I walked into a comedy movie scene when I first entered the "resort". So it's really a 1950's motel masquerading as a gun range, masquerading as a winery. The rooms are horribly outdated, beds are 30 years creaky, an iron burn stain on the floor, sinks, rusted-out/repaired. On the plus side, I felt the staff tries well and the room was relatively clean. The staff were as helpful as they could be and were very friendly. Ultimately I thought we were at my great grandmother's house, my family thankfully laughed off the first night but we quickly found another place and left.

I'll start with the good. The staff was amazingly friendly. They treat you like family. The view from the restaurant is pretty nice. Unfortunately that's about it for the positives. The place is definitely in need of some updates, and cleaning. The entire facility has a very musty odor, including the rooms. The A/C in our room was provided via a window unit that was pretty noisy and couldn't keep the room cool. The carpeted floor was disgustingly dirty. One of the kids spilled about a half cup of water on the carpet. I grabbed a wash cloth, laid it on the floor and pressed down. No scrubbing, just pressed down. The wash cloth turned a sickening dark orange, roughly matching the color of the carpet. I would've given this place 1 star if it wasn't for the staff. They really were amazingly friendly and helpful. But the bottom line is that you come to a hotel for the accommodations, and you should expect more for $100/night.

Southern Hospitality at it's finest! And Pet Friendly! Owners have 3 beautiful dogs of their own who freely roam the property. This wonderful lodge is managed and serviced by the Two Owners and their families. And they all take great pride in their "Grand Old Lady. " Back in the 1960's and '70's, this property was clearly a prime destination for a visit to Mammoth Cave. The owners are proudly bringing her back. Their rare Hospitality more than makes up for a few rough edges that still await their renewal. When you're there on weekends, be sure to watch "under the portico" for Live music from aspiring artists Hot out of Nashville. You won't be disappointed. You may even be pleasantly surprised at who might happen to "drop in! " BTW. When you meet Amber, Tell her Ray Peppers and Poe said "Hello. "

Quick drive to all the tourist locations. Mammoth caves are only a couple miles away. Resort is dated, yet appropriately priced. Don't expect too many bells and whistles. No alcohol allowed on premises. Allows pets.

Nice View, old facilities, we had a good time overall, spending all day in the Mammoth cave State Park, which is very close to the resort. The restaurant is very limited, if you are looking for well done food, independent of the menu, this is not the right place to eat. We did the first night, pretty much because we were to tired to go out and also was pouring. There is no breakfast included in the price, again there's not many places to choose from between the resort and the park, no choices of fruit at all, neither veggies. The rooms were okay, very old, and they smell old, I have some essential oils with me and I diffused at night. But in general, looks like it needs an upgrade, the place is nice located. For those that vote with your wallet and not support the NRA this is not a place for you. It has a shooting range, we didn't visit the facilities, I cannot comment on that. But they have a store will all the things that you need in case that you chose to do that. I like to take pictures as a hobby, and the view was the best part of this adventure. I'm not sure if I will come back, maybe the colors of the fall will convince me.

The Mammoth Cave Resort has existed for a long time, and I've been here a number of times since being a little kid in the 1970's. The place could definitely use some elbow grease, but I understand the place is being worked on and can see that improvements are being made to the property. Stop in at the restaurant for a good breakfast. We did so and had some good food, and also great service from Jen who has worked there for 45 years. The large wooden-geared clock in the main hallways is awesome, and the views from the rear of the property are great. Stop by and visit this unique locally owned business.

I feel bad to rate this as a 2 because the people there were so nice. Plus, this was also near a shooting range, which is awesome! But, honestly, this hotel wasn't worth $100 a night. The room was outdated and uncomfortable. We had a swamp cooler in the window and didn't sleep well. I totally get attempting to keep the rooms "retro" or "historical" but the room was so outdated, I felt like the decor was not a throwback statement but instead was a clear indicator that the owner might lack interest in investing money into this hotel.

Age of the room didn't bother us, it was the ants and other bugs roaming around our bathrooms that was a bit uninviting. Great place to go shooting, but not worth $99 a person, a night. I had called previously to check room prices and was told it would be $99 a night (total for room), come to find out it was $199 a person for the weekend. If I would have known it was going to be $200 a person for the weekend we wouldn't have stayed. Not worth the $200 for what you're getting, or lack there of. Better off staying at a close motel/hotel and driving to the resort to shoot. This place will be great once it's cleaned up and remodeled, but until then I wouldn't recommend staying.

Nice place to stay, on the top of a hill overlooking Kentucky. Situated on two thousand acres of land. Pet friendly and staff and very nice. Our room was a little dated but most importantly it was clean. Would like to come back to check out shooting ranges.

A nice little lodge in Kentucky! We stayed here on the way to Nashville this past weekend and really enjoyed it. Can't beat the $49 a night. There was only one other party there and they opened up the restaurant for breakfast just for us! Nice and quiet little place with an amazing winery!

Halloween day 2015 visiting the area for work. Come to this place and outside is freshly painted although it is very apparent that this hotel has been here for a long time. Go and check in and everything is fine including the lobby area and dining room. Open the door to the room and I am greeted to a very unpleasant aroma. After debating whether or not to get my money back and pay more than twice to stay somewhere else this particular night I masked with air freshener and a candle. I like soft beds and would rate the matresses 7 out of 10. The hotel is overall clean, but the rooms have an awful smell which cannot be described. Thin walls and a toilet that barely flushes. My whole experience thus far as a whole is about a 2 out of 10… Then the band starts playing. That's right a band in the dining area is playing so loud that I can clearly hear the vibrations from their drums in my room and it's already almost 10 PM. The place is clearly not booked and I don't know why they would put someone so close to a live band at a hotel. My experience was not very good and I hope yours is better if you stay here. I expected this to be more of a family place and maybe just because it is Halloween there are not families here, but it seems like the owner is focused more on arranging bands and painting the outside when the real issues with this place are inside the rooms.

Everyone that we have met has been very nice. We will definitely be coming back.

Saw some of the reviews left for this place and I felt I NEEDED to put in my two cents. On one of our "spontaneous" vacations this Spring break we needed a place to stay once we got as far as Cave city. This is where we end up. The staff was SUPER and the rooms were VERY clean. There were no cockroaches in the building! The rooms are outdated but there are new owners who are in the process of fixing the place up. Like they said. Rome wasn't built in a day! The room we stayed in did have two full size beds. There is a nice restaurant and winery. They also have a gun range. My favorite part of the whole place is the view in the morning! We arrived there I the dark. We knew we were up high, but didn't know what to expect in the morning, but let me tell you — it is absolutely beautiful! Red bud trees and other things blossoming and such. Definitely have breakfast at the restaurant there and request a window seat! This place is a gem and more people should check it out.

If you don't mind the smell of grandma house, with and hint of wet molding wood and top it off with wet dog! this place is perfect for you then.

We have been here for two weeks and really enjoyed the campground and the surrounding area. Between Louisville and Bowling Green. Many things to see and do.

Me and my finance stayed last summer in July it was beautiful had live bands playing and winery had just opened I think will be going back friendly staffs and rooms were clean dated furniture but it was what made it special and very peaceful.

I was there for 4 nights last June and will be going back this summer. It is not the Ritz but it is not supposed to be! So much to do and all at a very reasonable price. Food is awesome as well as the service.

Like some other posts, rooms were very dated, but the rooms and the facitlity was very clean. They only have one king bed on the whole property all rooms come with two double beds. It was actually kinda nice to because it was away from all the hustle and bustle of life and city and made it more a vacation to the caves. I do recommend, if you are like us, to bring atleast one extra wall outlet plugin that you can plug in more devices. We had 3 cell phones and a lap top, and there weren't enough outlets, but I had brought one along. We paid $ 75/ a night 2nd week of October for 4 days, so it was very cheap and reasonable. All employees were extremley friendly and accomodating. Breakfeast was an all you can eat buffett which was unbelievable awesome food. Never ate the lunch or dinner but i'm sure it was just as good. The property is beautiful and tons of it to explore with hidden and blocked of cave entrances. It's conviently located to Glasgow, where we ate dinner most nights and to cave city and mammoth caves. Key advice if you're not from the area, hotel is in a dry county, but drinks are served at resuarants and such. I had never stayed here before but my boyfriend had 20years ago, and he still loved it when we stayed and I loved it and would definitley stay there again next time we go down to the caves. Well worth our stay for 4 days.

I stayed last week for 3 days with my wife and son. During the night, one of the many cockroaches found its way into my sons ear and we spent the second day of our trip in the ER. I complained to the manager Donita and was greeted with poor attitude and zero help at all. Be advised to stay far away.
