Clean and decent hotel, nice beds. Allows pets but has a policy that they cannot get on the bed. I found it difficult to figure out how to comply with this. We were exhausted from our drive and had a good night of sleep there, so it met our needs.

Great beds. Clean rooms. Hot shower. Cold fridge. Friendly staff. Great breakfast.

The location for us worked out great as we were just staying one night on the way through and one night on the way back. Our first night there was great as we checked in quickly, received a clean room, a good breakfast, and a smooth check out. The second night on our way back home was still okay but not as good. We received a different room that still appeared clean but had a awful smell to it. Almost like it had just been sprayed with a pesticide or something. However, it being late, it wasn't awful enough to make it worth complaining so we just laid down and passed out still. Breakfast and departure were still fine. Overall, I'd stay again if I needed to. The hotel was also pet friendly as long as you let them know ahead of time as they have a limited number of pet friendly rooms!

I will start with the positives. The rooms were clean and updated, and the staff when we checked in was pleasant. If our experience stopped at this, I would be happy and would be leaving a 5 star rating. However, when I went to breakfast in the morning and was getting reading to grab my plate, I was YELLED at by a woman working the front desk, from across the lobby… that I was not allowed in the breakfast room without shoes on (I had my sleeping sweatpants and sweatshirt on, and no shoes, as I had just rolled out of bed to go grab something to take back to the room) … it was humiliating and other guests were staring at the interaction. I said nothing, went back to my room, and was too humiliated to go back and get a breakfast. My husband went and asked this same individual for the manager. The manager was sleeping I guess, so my husband confronted her about how she yelled at me for not having shoes on. She apologized, but then defended the act by stating that it is a state health code requirement for guests to wear shoes to the breakfast room. My husband asked if this was posted anywhere, and she said no. Whether it is indeed a requirement or not, it needs to be posted somewhere before you single out and humiliate guests in front of others.

Surprised at this hotel in a small town along I70. Seemed new and bright with comfortable bedding and a good Mexican restaurant across the road. Will definitely stay here if again in the area!

Hotel was nice staff was friendly, but you could hear everything going on in the next room. Maybe if there is a late check in the front desk should stress to that customer to be quiet! The shower had mold on the walls. Bugs in the bathroom and dirty sheets.

1 star all the way. The only reason I gave one star is because the breakfast was ok and the service at breakfast was nice. The room was dirty, had an odor, and once the rain started we soon found out the window leaked… a lot. We tried to report the problem and once we got through to the front desk the person put us on hold and proceeded to finish his personal conversation about cell phone plans he was having with someone else. We then went to the front desk and were given an armful of towels to mop up the mess in the room from the leaky window. The pool water was cold and the hot tub was broken. Was here on business and will go out of my way to stay somewhere else should the need arise again for me to come back to WaKeeney KS.

Nice hotel. Everything seemed very new. There is a convenient area just outside for walking pets.

Very clean and updated hotel. The room was well appointed and comfortable. Great value for the price paid. Wish there had been more breakfast options, but the coffee was very good. Will definitely stay here in the future.

Great hotel for travelers. Right off of I-70. Complementary breakfast with hot and cold choices. Staff was friendly and helpful. Good indoor pool and hot tub. Up to date decor.

Nice, clean hotel with friendly, helpful staff. The only problem I had was that since it is located so close to Interstate 70, the noise from the semi-trucks was a bit of a problem. A lot of trucks seem to exit there, and since the ramps are short they ride their Compression Brakes (or "Jake Brakes"), which makes a horribly loud sustained noise. Perhaps it isn't like that every night, but it was a nuisance the night I was there. Headphones and a fan running dampened it some, but not enough. Just something to think about if you stay there. An otherwise nice, cozy hotel with brand-new carpet and amenities, comfortable bed, etc.

I love the Best Western hotels. They are a great value for your money. Very comfortable and quiet and clean. I always look for semi truck parking and this one has truck parking. It also has food within walking distance. This is convenient to my route. I will stay here again.

Go down the road to Atwood for something better. Our room phone rang several times throughout the night. Air conditioning vibrated constantly. Staff tried to enter room without knocking at 9 am. Overall quality felt on par with a 2 star location.

Had to stop here after car troubles put us a full day behind schedule on Christmas Eve. Checked in at 2am with no problems. They are big dog friendly, comfortable beds, & great staff! The price for Big dogs was the cheapest I've ever seen & the breakfast was surprisingly a great selection. Left a baby blanket and the staff not only contacted us to let us know, but was willing to get back to us. Very sweet.

It was okay. The hotel was damaged from a recent storm, so it was missing some windows and the pool was closed. The breakfast was not great, compared to other Best western plus hotels whwre we have stayed. They had a reasonable pet policy, and the room had high ceilings which was nice.

Rooms should be discounted if recreational activities are destroyed and they should let people know ahead of time. Suites have no couch to sit on or coffee table to use.

The hotel was very clean and well kept. The staff was very friendly and gave you the feeling that they were glad you chose to stay with them. I would stay at this Best Western again.

Excellent! Very professional, kind and accommodating staff. Room was the cleanest I've ever seen in any Best Western. I asked if it were a new building, etc. And was told that the hotel is 12 years old. I was very impressed with the condition of the hotel and the cleanliness! I would highly recommend this hotel.

Clean, quiet, good breakfast, but a bit pricy/

This hotel was really disgusting. I DO NOT recommend it. The bathroom had hair in it. There was liquid on the toilet. And the whole bathroom was disgusting. We felt so nasty that we went to another hotel to take another shower because it was so gross. I repeat I DO NOT recommend this hotel. And the room smelled horrible. And after all that all they could do for us is give us $20 off our room.

Wonderful, very pleasent staff, helpful and attentive. Well maintained and appointed, clean and updated rooms with top level breakfast included. Highly recommended.

From check in to check out our stay was comfortable. Due to a recent severe storm the pool and some rooms were not available because of damage. The wind was blowing very strong when we arrived and the first room we were given had a loud whistling sound coming from around the a. C. Unit. The desk clerk quickly moved us to another room which was quiet and very comfortable. We selected a restaurant from the room directory, Tropical Mexican, which served delicious food and great service. Overall our rest stop in WaKeeney was great. Perfect choice for travelers.

Great staff stays true to best western higher standards. They are super pet friendly here my dog Luna even got treats.

This hotel was very clean and the staff was exceptional. Some areas of the hotel (ie the pool) were not available due to a recent tornado damaging the building and the repairs were still in process. We were in the hotel while attending a wedding and they accommodating when our group used common spaces to gather and visit during our stay.

Very nice hotel. Not much else around. Clean and nice, but they definitely raise the price knowing nothing much else is around.

We checked in late at night, the sweet girl at the front desk was very friendly and so kind, our rooms were clean, spacious and the beds were wonderful! I HIGHLY recommend this Hotel!

Rooms were clean however the chair had head stains and my son's couch was ripped up on the side like a cat attacked it, granted he was in pet friendly room but they asked not to there the dog on the furniture, that is the idea of a pet friendly room. Pool and hot tub were great, walls were paper thin, could hear the kids next door jumping and yelling. Staff were fantastic when we checked in, dog got a baggie with 2 treats and a poop bag!

The room was comfortable and spacious, with great Wi-Fi. However, the buffet was average, the appliances in the room were very dated, and the noise from the highway was extremely loud. Some of the staff had poor attitudes, while other members were very friendly. This could be a good place to stay… or maybe not.

Great place just off the interstate. Plenty of well-lit parking. Hotel rooms were spacious and clean. Bathrooms large with plenty of hot water and fluffy towels. Breakfast included with rack rate.

Excellent stay! Great hotel with friendly and helpful staff. The room was clean and very nicely decorated. We had our dog with us and the hotel grounds were so nice. We appreciated how nice the grassy area was and how well kept. I would recommend this hotel.

Great hotel in west central Kansas when traveling I-70. Easy access from highway with excellent parking space with easy access. Good breakfast with fair seating space. Quiet night's rest. Small fitness room, but quality equipment.

The room was updated and clean. Pool and hot tub were nice. Breakfast was diverse and yummy. Staff was very kind. Hotel was right off interstate.

It makes a great place to stop on the way to Colorado from Missouri. Always clean and comfortable, nice and friendly. Family used the work out room and the pool. The pool is small but big enough to stretch the legs and arms out and swim a few strokes. Usually a nice warm quick start breakfast to get you going early.

The staff member who helped us book our room was incredible thoughtful and helpful. He made us feel welcome and valued. The room was comfortable; I slept like a dream on the mattress. Breakfast was lack luster. Overall it was a comfortable room at a good value.

I dealt with Pat and she was wonderful. The hotel had brand new carpet and they are going to upgrade the rooms even more. Wonderful service and the full breakfast was just what I needed. Thank you for a great experience. This is why I choose Best Western.

Stayed here only because they accept pets. The assigned room was too heavily perfumed to disguise prior pet odors or just too much application of deodorizer. Breakfast should be definitely limited to the dry cereal and coffee as the rest looked awful. We, too, heard every foot fall from the room above. As this is the only decent motel/hotel in Wakeeney, we will have to stay again. We preferred the Marriott in Hays but they have discontinued acceptance of pets. The dinner at the Saloon in town was quite agood.

I will list the pros first. 1. The rooms were clean. Cons: 1. They were unwilling to allow a early check in or a late check out, they were only willing to allow us to stay until noon. When to confirm we could stay until noon, I received a firm reminder to be out by noon with a roll of her eyes. 2. We stayed there because they had a pool and hot tub. The hot tub was broke. 3. The walls are so thin, we could hear everyone walking around upstairs. 4. It was so expensive, paid 135.00 for one night.

Excellent value, clean, and safe. 4 hours from DIA and a nice qick stop while on the road. We tried to eat at the saloon in town but it closed at 9pm. Sara must have been having a bad day or is used to staying at the ritz.

This establishment offered exactly what we expected from a Best Western as far as cleanliness and comfort is concerned. The night staff was friendly when we arrived and the air conditioner worked in our room, so we were satisfied at least for the night. When we woke up this morning, we were rarin' and ready to go for breakfast. We should have known better — this is Kansas, the land of the inedible — but my husband grabbed a biscuit, some gravy, sausage patties, and an egg disc (seriously). It only took him one bite of each to lose his appetite and determine that he was not eating anymore. I'm glad I stuck with the Raisin Bran. So beware: if you stay here, your choices for breakfast are McDonalds' or this free "breakfast. " So really, find someplace else — or bring your own food — and coffee.

As I sit here in the lobby of Best Western Wakeeney, I'm trying really hard to write something positive about this hotel, but I'm finding it difficult. We went out of our way to stay at this hotel, based solely on all the 5-star reviews here, but we were very disappointed. We called ahead from Oklahoma City on our way up and we were quoted a price of $74+tax for 2 queen beds. It seemed a bit low, so I confirmed that it was indeed only $74+tax for 2 queen beds. Upon arrival, I found my bill to be $95 for the room. When I inquired as to why the change, I was informed that I must have been initially quoted the incorrect price. Bait and switch or honest mistake? I'll let you decide. Once we got to our room, the beds were the smallest queen beds I have ever seen. They were comparable to other hotels double beds. I mentioned this to the desk and they basically said that, yes, they are "smaller" queen beds. When we arrived yesterday, the heat index was 105 degrees and it was very humid so we decided to go to the water park. The desk informed me that the water park was great for kids and gave us directions on how to get there. We packed up our two little kids and headed to the park. Following the hotel's directions, we were led out of town onto a gravel road that didn't lead to the water park. We finlly found our own way to the other side of town where the water park actually was.
