Breakfast was great and staff was friendly and knowledgeable. The bed was like sleeping on concrete and the pillows were flat. No neck support at all. On the 4th day of our 5 day stay, they didn’t clean our room after we specifically asked them to clean it. Convenient to local attractions. Pool and spa were great!

Chad needs a pay raise or promotion! This guy helped me out tremendously today with a customer service situation I was put into by a third-party. I was getting the runaround, and this local branch offered professional and upfront advice that I truly appreciate. Thank you so much for your time and concern. I will be staying with this hotel sometime soon as it also has a great location and amenities for Abilene, Kansas! Thanks.

The staff here is incredibly helpful. There were some issues with the elevator and room phone, but they were quick to respond once the need was known! Thank you, Terriesha! I hope that Holiday Inn Express knows how fortunate they are to have her as an employee.

Clean and comfortable! I recommend!

We requested a handicap room and got it when we reserved it over a month ago.
Upon arrival the room was way down the hall over halfway… I have never NOT had the handicap room be the first room and closest to the lobby or if on an upper floor next to the elevator. Very disappointing and a large obstacle and honestly an inconvenience that limited us. The bed was pretty hard and so much bleach had been used on the bed linens that my eyes burned and it was difficult to breath normally.

Very nice rooms. Pleasent people get things to do. Staff very helpful.

I booked a king size room and was given a double. When asked about it they said the room I reserved was not available. I then had to ask for a discount for the cheaper room as they were charging me for what I had booked not what I was given. Front desk staff was friendly and didn’t give me the 20 questions of business or pleasure, who do you work for and what do you do. I got my key and went straight to my room. The breakfast was half great and half horrible. Some of the food was fresh and tasty, some was dried out and tasted bad.

Loved room and service. Awesome breakfast in the mornings. Walking distance to convenience store. Very comfortable bed. Very satisfied customer.

Recently in town to move our daughter into her dorm. This hotel has completed its renovation since the last time we were in Abilene, and we were very pleasantly surprised with the results. The decor and amenities are clean and updated, and the bathroom mirror lighting is so good that I didn't need my magnified mirror to apply my make-up! The business office is in the same area as the cafe that serves your complimentary hot breakfast, so it's not private, but it's got 2 large computer monitors and a fax. We didn't get to explore all the amenities, but were very impressed with the accommodations for this type of hotel.

Had a great room on the first floor. It was well lit with a ceiling fan and modern decor. Very nice bathroom as well. The only thing I noticed was that the back door entrance to the first floor hallway had a broken lock so you did not need to use your room key to get in, the lock was absolutely removed so anyone could walk in.

Not really an "upscale" hotel but it is one of the few places that allow dogs. The bed was very noisy, uncomfortable, and the pillows we're very thin. Any movement on the bed made loud noises that kept us from sleeping soundly. Pretty old mattress. Jacuzzi in tub was odd, shower curtain allowed water to go everywhere. I slipped a couple times getting in/out shower. Fixtures are rusted. Room needs updating. Smoking allowed just outside entry and in some rooms, so there is a constant smell of smoke in hallways and lobby. The woman tending breakfast was nice but she will watch you like a hawk. She asked me how many yogurts I had taken to my room, I asked if there was a limit (I took 1). They put milk in plastic pitchers instead of having small cartons, seems unsanitary. Not many food options. The vending machine was fairly empty. We purchased a chocolate bar from the vending machine and the chocolate was melted. There is no pantry. Refrigerator in our room had some broken piece in it that was moldy (see photo). There is the Brookville Hotel that serves chicken dinners at night, Tossed N Sauced Pizza delivers to hotel and it is good. Good place for a quick stay, and maybe a couple hours sleep, but don't expect anything like the nicer Express locations. Positives are the front desk staff were very polite and went out of their way to help. The cleaning crew appear to work hard and try their best with what they have, they are also very nice and accommodating.

Clean rooms, nice fitness center, good (if small) pool, nice laundry facility, great view from the second floor. My suite was pretty nice. My coworker who stayed on the first floor said it was kind of loud. Continental breakfast was pretty standard for Holiday Inn, but I would say that the bacon was nice and crispy. Cookies were below average for Holiday inn.

Very nice lady checked us in and let us look at the rooms first. The first was a smoking room and it smelled so gross, but then the next one was fantastic! Great prices too! Liked the chairs in the room. Made for comfort!

Stayed here for 2 weeks when the basement flooded and the house was being repaired. Nice hotel, price was ok, not bad but not great. My kids loved the pool and the breakfast every morning was good. Nothing stands out as either fantastic or terrible about this place. It's just a nice, clean hotel with friendly folk running it and a decent breakfast in the morning. Solid place. I would stay here again.

The hotel definitely shows its age, but not sure that matters since they are building a new one across the street. The room was decent enough, but the heated pool was not heated. Not bad for a one night just for a pit stop.

Called early in the afternoon to book 2 double queen rooms and was told available even used my ihg # to book rooms and confirmed. Also let the reservation assistant know we would be checking in late. Arrived in the late evening to check in to find out only one room was booked. The clerk at the front desk (Dylan B. ) was not in the least accommodating. We asked for an explanation to only be told sorry we're sold out. No assistance in finding other rooms for the night. As our frustration grew we we're told to just leave. We travel a lot and always look for a holiday inn express first before anywhere else. This location has left a bad taste in my mouth.

The convenience, nearby stores within reach yet peaceful. The hotel is very close to smoky valley railroad.

We were traveling and stopped here. The restaurant next door is awesome. They serve a fried chicken dinner that is scrumptious. Its the only meal they serve. Holiday Inn staff is wonderful and very pet friendly.

Nicely remodeled! Very nice front desk good housekeeping… few missed hairs in bathroom… but nothing big. Beautiful rooms.

Really close to interstate 70 and historic hotel that now serves fried chicken. Located in a small town with a lot of unique historic things. Hotel is not the most up to date and recreation room has no free weights. However, it is clean and staff is generally friendly.

Stayed for one night and everything was great. Clean, comfy beds and nice showers. We only used it to sleep and get ready but it was sufficient. Very friendly employees too.

The beds we're some of the best. So comfortable. Did not want to get out of bed.

A nice (but average) Holiday Inn Express. We have stayed at this HIX 3 times now. This HIX doesn’t have super large rooms or fancy furniture but everything is clean and comfortable so it’s a good value. Slept great on a comfortable bed. The bath and shower are good. The staff is always friendly and helpful. There’s a breakfast bar with the usual HIX fare too. Be advised parking is tight. If you’ve got a large truck or you’re pulling a trailer there’s no turnaround room at all. As I said, 3rd stay here for us. Not only does the location work for us in our travels but it’s close (but not too close) to the highway exit. There’s a few good restaurants and gas stations close by too.

Staff is amazing, breakfast lady was superb! So sweet and nice. Rooms need upgrade. And please, how is possible to mix smoker with non-smokers rooms? Few rooms after our room there where 2 smokers rooms, you can smell cigarettes everywhere. If you said non-smokers, for sure is yes, you will be second hand smoker in there.

For mid-March 2018 I strongly recommend you skip this hotel. I've never recommended this before. The good: A bright-looking locale in an attractive location close to WalMart, gas stations and some restaurants. The rooms are modern and tastefully decorated. However, the bathroom had no humidity fan extractor. Even though the a/c's fan will not run all night (not the compressor), the thermostat goes way below 65 which makes for an outstanding slumber. This, combined with a very comfortable bed had me counting clouds. All this was destroyed by the failure of their one and only clunky elevator. The day we checked in, the lady behind the counter had to go and reset it to make it work for us to go up to our room and claimed that 'we know what to do now. ' Next day I needed to check out and had to walk all our luggage down from the 3rd floor due to the elevator's failure (that's what we were told. Hope nobody got locked in there). If you have any sort of handicap, bad knees, bad hip or any pain or rash, this is a total dream come true. Or plainly don't think you should put up with this! Why does a hotel of this category allow this to happen AND does not have 24 hour elevator service is beyond me. Other than bad management. Then there were the other things. Won't bother with the small stuff, but will start at no hand soap in the room upon check in. They went to WalMart and bought full size Dial soap. Thank you.

Staff was very polite and helpful. Bed and pillows are among the most comfortable I have ever slept on. Room was very clean (something you don't find to much these days). Will definitely be staying here when traveling through.

Very enjoyable stay! Rooms clean, well appointed. Great for the Weekend Getaway. Very Professional Front Desk and Housekeeping did a great job! Morning Complimentary Breakfast includes Eggs, Bacon, Biscuits, Cinnamon Rolls… and more! Very pleased with Stay.

Gross! Night staff was rude. The room wasn't wiped down or dusted. I had to clean the tub myself just to shower. The breakfast began at 6:30, I ate at 7. It tasted as if the food had been cooked the day before! The elevator was disgusting!

Neat and clean. Will stay there again on our next trip through, going to West Texas. Great free breakfast and friendly staff.

Building smelled clean. Bed was comfortable, TV is good. Nice to have mini fridge and microwave in room. Water pressure in the shower was terrible. The bathroom wasn't as clean as it should have been.

Just a quick overnight stay on my way to an Arts and Science competition. But the room was comfortable and the staff friendly and professional.

I thought all holiday inn Expresses were created equal. I was wrong. This hotel clearly used to be a flea motel, and holiday inn has done the bare minimum to bring it up to date. Old showers did not work well, had to take an emergency bath that morning which was very inconvenient. Do not recommend.

This was a very standard Holiday in Express. It was adequate. Not great but not bad. The pillows we very flimsy and not very comfortable, but the bed was very comfortable. Plenty of soft towels. Breakfast was kind of greasy.

Doors don't always close on their own, but never came back to an open door from cleaning staff, and other then when I first started everything in I always lock the door immediately behind me, so ended up working out. Otherwise, breakfast was up to par for a HI Express, it's set behind another hotel, so don't get much highway noise (I didn't notice any). Staff were kind and friendly.

A great stay! The staff was acceptable, the beds alright, and the rooms mostly clean. The breakfast was subpar, with dry baked goods, and weird hot dishes. The pancake machine was fun. The breakfast was free, so it was acceptable for the price. The heater in the room was a little overzealous, keeping the room very warm. The location was okay, I definitely recommend eating at the nearby Brookville Hotel.

Customer service was wonderful. The place itself is a little outdated and kinda smells like Grandma perfume. But, I got a good night's rest and a decent breakfast in the morning, and again, everyone was so nice and so helpful.

Had a small issue with the door cards not working when we arrived but the lady at check in was very helpful and came to open it for us. I informed the ladies in the morning and they insured they would take care of it. Great stay as always.

Room 210, upper floor facing the front of the building. Very nice and clean. I used to work at a hotel that had some shady practices and since then have been leery of most hotels I stay in, but I was very pleased with our visit here.

All I did was deliver someone's pizza, for anyone who is going to stay at Abilene's Holiday inn Casey's can deliver there.

Very comfortable stay! Nice rooms, staff was helpful & assistive. Breakfast was plus! Close to ACU & restaurants. Little construction at main intersection, but not bad.

The last time we stayed here there was no water pressure at all. The hot water lasted about 3 minutes. I told the front desk and they said they couldn't do anything about it since the manager wasn't in. The next day I told the manager and she said we'll look into that. She offered no discount of any kind or a room change. I accidentally left my phone charger and we called to get it back and I was told they would talk to housekeeping and call me back but I never got a call. Poor costumer service. I do not recommend this hotel.

Rooms was very modern. The was really equipped to handle mobile devices used today.

The rooms have recently been updated with a modern and comfortable look. The staff is very friendly and helpful! Great location.

The rooms were nice and clean and the staff were pleasant. There was some kind of work going on at the front entrance, presumably planned, but no signage to tell you how you can get intonthe hotel. Finally found an almost hidden door that was unlocked and could get in, after walking almost completely around the building, with suitcase and briefcase in tow. That really marred the beginning of my stay.

My family & I have been coming here for years for our yearly family reunion. Every year we say the same thing. Nice people, nice looking rooms, decent breakfast (if filled) but the beds… the beds are as hard as rocks! My mother had to sleep in the chair, I had to sleep on top of multiple pillows. Our backs are hating us. Was told that they are building a new location across the street. Hopefully it will have comfortable beds!

Always a good choice to stop while passing through on I-70. The prices are usually good. The rooms are always clean. Most of the staff has been there for a long time. They remember their repeat customers.

Rooms are nicely updated and TV is nice with good channels. That is where it ends. Room had hair all over the place. Bathroom looked like it hasn't been swept in weeks. The bed was mushy, not soft by design, mushy and squeaked like an old factory machine needing oil. The bathroom fixtures were loose and poorly installed. The water pressure was a joke and the breakfast was third rate! This place is like a motel 6 with fancy wrapper. On the lighter side, the girl at the front desk was very courteous and quick to help with our needs!

The accommodation's were comfortable, even extra pillows! The bathroom could have been a little cleaner; there was trash under the bathroom sink and hair on the wall of the shower. Other than that, the breakfast was quite good! People here were very nice!

Room was way bigger than I expected. Very soft bed, clean room. Close to several restaurants and a Walmart. Right off the highway so easy access to the rest of town.

Great stay right off Interstate 70! Make sure to hit the Eisenhower Presidential Library, which is only 5-10 minutes away. The pool was pleasant, free Wi-Fi was fast, and breakfast made it all worth the money.

Located right off I-70, the inn had spacious rooms, gracious hosts, and groups of pleasant travelers. The staff served a filling breakfast and even conversed with us as we set out.

Location is good but the sign needs to be by the road. Would have been nice to have the ac running when we got to our room. Took hours to cool down.

The hotel was nicely updated, and very clean. Check in was easy and checking out via the IHG app was even easier. Breakfast was sufficient, nothing extravagant but you can't complain about a free breakfast. We would definitely stay again.

Holiday Inn is along the outer edge of the city which makes it feel safer for belongings inside your vehicle. Rooms were in good condition but some of the decor was dated. Concierge was more than helpful and made a delightful stay.

Very nice HIE. Room, hallways, stairs lobby were all very clean and well kept. Staff was very nice and accomodating. Breakfast was good, not great, but similar to other HIE breakfasts. Easy access to I-70.

Clean hotel. Friendly staff. Hot tub needs work. Sounded like someone put a dirt bike engine in it. Got a headache instead of relaxing. Overall nice hotel in a nice small town.

Aged hotel, but no bad smell and clean rooms. Breakfast seems well stocked. Didn't have much of an interaction with the hotel management. Local television selection is ok, but no guide.

The hotel was very clean and well put together. The room was also very clean and the beds nice and soft. The walls were a bit thin and we could hear people talking in the hallway and a baby crying on our floor. But it resolved itself and we slept beautifully. The breakfast was passable. The staff was nice, and we had no troubles. The location of the hotel was nice also, easy to get to off the loop. Just minutes even from the other side of Abilene.

Great location for our road trip through Texas. Looks like it was remodeled but someone left off the finish work. Bed was comfy and breakfast was great!

The rooms were great. The only problem I had with the hotel was that when we went down for breakfast there was almost nothing on the buffet. By the time we had to leave they still had not put food out.

Great room and staff. Bed was a little on the hard side but room was clean and spacious with everything you need. Wi-Fi was actually fast enough to get work done with no issues or disconnects.

I just got back from Colorado but l live near collage Texas but it is still a good place to stay.

Would not stay at this location. My electronic device was left in the locked room that I was staying in and when I called to see if housekeeping had turned it in front desk told me that it had not. I also spoke to management at this Holiday Inn and manager (Senta) stated employees would not take my electronic device and that I was lying and that I must have lost it. Manager (Senta) also stated that after 30 days if one of the housekeeping staff found my device then it would be considered free property and that they could claim it for themselves and that I could do nothing about it. The female manager (Senta) did not try to work with me at all on trying to get my property back and stated that I was basically a liar. If you would liked to be ripped off and called a liar then by all means stay at this SORRY EXCUSE OF A HOLIDAY INN. This has by far been the worst experience I have had in dealing with hotel management and service. I would definitely suggest staying some place else.

Fairly typical HIE. Easy to reach location off the loop in Abilene. The staff were friendly and helpful. The room was pretty clean, it had a bit of a musty odor but was bearable. The refrigerator made an irritating noise so I unpluged it. The bathroom was clean and I didn't feel bad taking a shower there. The Wi-Fi worked well but not the fastest speed. It was enough for me to work with. The breakfest was decent with a suprising amount of choices. Most importantly, I didn't get sick from eating there. I would stay there again and recommend it to others.
