Ky family encountered bed bugs in our room and the bathroom was covered in black mold!

Hello everyone. Still here waiting out the storm. Talk about cabin fever! Hope to leave Monday headed to Franklin County, NC. I'll have to take the long way back because I-95 at Lumberton NC will probably be Flooded! At least a 12 hour drive. Stay safe everyone.

Great place for a quick over night. Pet friendly clean and cheep … thanks to red roof this was a great stop.

It was to small for the money you have to pay. They said 100% non smoking but you could smell the smoke out in the hall ways. The front Lobby had a bad smell and the elevator. The front desk Clerks was not nice. The toilet was broke and the mini fridge spoil my food. Not to mention the bugs (roaches) left my food on the table to go get some ice, when I returned to my room there was bugs on my burger. Would not recommend to stay. Need to lower the price. Would not stay here again.

Air did not work right! the security for right out side or room never locked. The guy in the room next to us never went to sleep that night, he wad in and out his room every 5 min. For banging then secound for banging. Then he would have people coming and going on top of that! so no sleep at all. And the room phone did not work. It wad bad!

Stayed here with my wife and 1 year old son from August 3rd to the 5th of 2018 in a king suite room. The staff was friendly besides that stay could not have been worse. When we got into our room there was a bad odor that we could not find the source to which did not go away with time. The remote to the TV did not work and the door handle on the bathroom door was broken and would only shut once you played with it for a while. Within the 1st hour I killed 3 roaches, and many more throughout the rest of our stay. When I brought up the roaches to the staff on duty he said the hotel has been aware of the roach problem for the last few months but they do not know what to do about the situation. He marked down my room number, wrote roaches next to it and went on like it was normal. I will not be staying at this location again. I would advise others do not as well.

The entire 3rd floor smelled of urine and cigarette smoke in spite of the 100% smoke free hotel. The pictures on the internet lie! My room had an old Minute Maid bottle with water in it. This was a nasty hotel. I don’t normally write reviews, but I had to warn others. If you’re trying to save a couple of bucks, this hotel is not worth it. I want to feel comfortable where I lay my head. Didn’t feel that there. DON’T DO IT! You’re been warned!

When my husband and I walked in, we were greated by a rude employee. He asked if the man standing next to me was my husband and when I replied yes, he laughed in disbelief. My husband and I have visited this location many times and have never had a problem. Then when we get upstairs to our room the window was left wide open as if their were airing out the room. This was one of my worse experiences. My husband and I work so much and have 4 kids so every so often we plan a romantic getaway. This night was not. The only reason I am giving two stars is because this has never happened before.

Room was very clean along with the bathroom. Room did have a smell to it. Single rooms are small but bed is very comfortable! I would definitely stay here again and would definitely recommend staying here.

Very nice room for a decent price. Friendly staff. Nice lobby.

Room was very small, no closet and the sheets were slightly wrinkled and gritty as though they weren't changed after the last guest. Furniture was slighty dusty and there was a cobweb in the corner. Paid $89 online but was told always best to call directly… rate would've been $64. Doable for last minute and short term stay but not preferred. Customer service was good during check in and check out.

Great staff! Comfortable rooms with fridge and microwave. Good weekly rates for those working at Vogtle. Hot breakfast.

This was probably the worst hotel we’ve ever stayed in. The first room we were given had a clothes rack about a foot above the TV. So we could either hang our clothes or watch TV. They gave us another room that was larger but smelled like a pack of cigarettes. I complained to the desk clerk and he said “I can’t help what people do in their rooms”. We ran the exhaust fan the entire time. It was terrible. The breakfast… not enough milk for cereal, ran out of coffee and fruit & danish were in plastic wrappers. So to give 1 star is being nice.

The owner is a jerk and they charge and addl $5 on tax. He says because they are a brand name hotel. Not to mention my husband saw a roach in the room this morning. I usually dont review but the guy was so petty it was a shamed. I couldn't give me a bottle water because I wasn't a Redi member. Dude five me a break I just spent $70 with you. Honestly, if you like petty and a few roaches this is it. If not there are so many other places to stay where you are welcome.

Pretty decent for the price. Definitely would recommend for overnight guests.

Shawn was so awesome to me and my son. We stayed additional nights. The staff is so friendly! I love the lobby. The desk is something that I also needed. We enjoyed our stay I would also recommend it to friends. I don't know what it is about this place but I love it!

This is not the place to stay. The service was awful. The hotel was not only dirty but it has roaches. Please do not make the same mistake we did!

The halls and elevator smell like a serious smoke session. The carpets were dingy. Glasses and mirrors not clean. The toilet was running from the time I walked in the room. Their return policy is non existent. I checked in waiting on a friend to get into town the next day but the friend got in early. I was in the room physically a total of 15 mins. I went next door to get food and came back. Asked the GM for a partial refund and was denied. The GM walked in the room two steps and said no the room was used. The only thing that was used was the desk holding my bag. Would not stay here again. The only good part was friendly greeting of the front desk worker.

My wife and I arrived very late in the evening with our pets. The staff were super kind and super helpful getting us squared away quickly. Accomodations were fine.

My experience here was despicable they took my deposit saying that I smoked in my room … I have a 18 month old daughter the only one smoking is all your crackhead employees literally a girl was stung out in the hallway chair for hours drug dealing and rude employees would NOT! Recommand. Especially people with kids.

This is one of the worst hotel I have stayed in! The first room they put me in had a broken bed. I went back to the worker and she changed by room out. The next day, I told the owner that I needed my room to be cleaned; he told be that will be no problem. Well… unfortunately they didn't clean my room! I told the girl at the front desk that my room was still dirty and her response was " I can't do nothing but give you towels" she said I have to wait till the next day. The next morning, I told the owner that my room was cleaned and he said he was going to take care of it lol he gave me a $17 credit these people are pathetic! $75 a night was not worth it all day! This hotel is worth about $30 a night. Their so called continental break sucks! Coffee cold, and really nothing to chose from. I will never stay there again! Oh yeah… the girl that work overnight charged my cousin a pet fee when there is no pet fee. She told my cousin that she has to pay it in cash cause she's giving her a discount.

One of the worst experiences Ive had at a hotel. This location is about a mile from Ft. Gordon. They allow pets at this location and several occupants let their dogs run free in the hallways. The carpets in the hallways are filthy. The room smelled bad and the shower curtains had stains. The top comforter on the bed smelled horrible so I took it off. I was put in a room without a remote. The front desk agent said he couldn't do anything about the remote until the manager returned in 30 mins. 2 hours later I had a remote but had to program it myself because the guy at the front desk couldn't do it. On check out day I woke up 15 mins prior to check out. I called downstairs to let them know I'd be out of the room in 30 and the manage comes up knocking on my door. He was very rude even after I notified the front desk and cleaning lady I was running late.

I wish I could give a half star! Worst stay ever! Service is great but you can hear everything! Next door and upstairs! This was my weekend away… no rest! I wished they would of had carpet there was so much noise! Really bad after 10pm.

By far the most disgusting dirtiest hotels I've ever saw. The room next to us was smoking weed and cussing and fighting with children in the room crying. The towels were covered in long black hairs with stains. The floors have never been wept of mopped. I swiped the bathroom floor with a towel and it became black. The entire outdoor landscape and parking lot was covered with trash and food thrown out the vehicles. Even though this is a inexpensive hotel, there is a reason why this hotel is so cheap. The entire hotel smelled like smoke and was nasty. We learned to never cut back when it comes to hotels.

I am extremely impressed with this hotel. It used to be a different hotel at one point. They have changed and remodeled it in order to turn it into the Red Roof Inn & Suites. The area is not the greatest in the world but it is also not a bad area. Only about one-and-a-half to two miles from the front gate of Fort Gordon. The people are extremely friendly and very accommodating, the prices are very good 4 a hotel that is this decent, and that is just in general and all-around good place to stay.

1st impression: smoke free hotel smells like cigarettes in the hallway. 2nd impression: coffee maker had a used filter inside with mold growing. Staff were curteous probably just undermanned and overworked.

Rooms were nasty… Housekeeping seems as though they don't care about cleaning! Had waterbugs and little creatures in the shower and a refrigerator that was really outdated! Was told to call the manager the next day and he stated that there was nothing he could do but give me 10 dollars back! Never again! On the plus side the lady at Desk was extremely nice! I won't recommend this place to anyone!

Unfriendly staff, I get to my room and there is no toilet paper, my TV was working on and off, I complained to staff of the heavy smell of pot in my room and the hallway and the girl at the front desk told me she only works there and there was nothing she could do, and they don't clean the rooms until 4 — 6 pm. My advice is go to another hotel. There are tons of hotels in that area and probably better than Red Roof Inn Augusta South.

Its not perfect but its clean and the people are nice. Sad to see all the bad reviews, I guess the good ones just don't make the cut.

I needed a clean bed, and the room provided appeared to meet that criteria. Unfortunately, I had not perused the previous reviews before coming, however my group didn't have a problem with bugs/roaches, I. E. We didn't see or hear any. Props to the lady at the front desk, who was very nice considering my 1am check-in time.

Main reason we stopped here is because they are pet friendly. Actually it was the only reason. LOL! But surprisingly the room turned out to be very nice.

Aweful. We posted about how rude. Now I understand the unclean and bugs. I left yesterday am I now have 6 huge whelps/bites on my wrist. I was bitten so bad in my sleep. That is disgusting. I'm sure they are rude because they know their accommodations are LESS than adequate. They need to de-bug this hotel and hire new staff that cares.

Rude. The front desk man was rude. I told him in am that it was noisy with slamming doors at 1am he said I should have called desk. He put up breakfast at 8:50 all I wanted was a cup of juice he said too late. On top of all the noise the shower would not drain. Love standing in a ft of water trying to get clean NOT this is the 272nd and last chance. I'm in Augusta for surgery and needless to say they did not make my stay comfortable.

I wish I would have listened to the other reviewers. Do not stay here. Pay the extra for your dog to stay at another hotel. The room smelled as if an entire bottle of cheap, horrible smelling perfume had been dumped on the floor or sprayed in the air. It was so bad that we asked for a different room. Before moving I checked the new option and it smelled just as offensive. Must be their cleaning solution? The next room option was a handi-capable room and it didn't smell like perfume so we moved. It did however smell like it had been smoked in and after we left, our bags and clothes smelled like it so you can guess how strong it was. There were several other things as well — the breakfast — a total joke, had to ask for a do-not-disturb sign, key card didn't work when we tried to get back in at night, can't access the lobby at night from outside unless you have a key card, no towel bars in ANY of the rooms we were in and maybe this isn't a big deal but seriously a hand towel is supposed to be left on a sink? And what if you want to reuse your bath towel? No hooks, bars or anything to place a towel. When I mentioned this and my other grievances at check out to the man who said he was manager, he said towel bars weren't required and that he'd "tell management" about my comments! I thought he as management!

The online photos of the rooms are misleading and it's not the cleanest hotels I've been to.

The worse uncomfortable I ever seen… the floor bed and tub was full of pet hair… I was itchy all night I got a towel with a broom to clean my own floor the towel was full of dirt and hair… the pool area looks like mid construction with all kinds of trash and debris… I beg you pay a little more and stay across the street at Hampton inn… this place should be shut down.

Very disappointed with this hotel. We have stayed at Red Roof Inns all over the country, mainly due to their amazing pet allowances — but this was by far the worst one we have ever been to. Dumpy, small room, foul smell, horribly damp and roaches. Was planning on staying until the AC in our house was fixed, but was not spending another night at this Red Roof. Management said the roaches "came in from outside" and was not phased by our disgust. Not buying it — we are not new to the south or staying in hotels, baby roaches mean they are IN the hotel. Eventually offered us a percentage off the stay, but still will NOT be back.

Ownership is horrible. Tossed me out with no notice one day early because they wanted to book my room for the masters. I had stayed for 6 weeks. Even after I showed them my recipt showing my real checkout date she still fought me on it. After agreeing to leave a day early with no notice she still tried to charge me for the extra day because I left 30 min after "checkout" time. The staff was so freindly. The rooms suck. The owner is rude and money hungry. They will not get my money on my next stay.

Upon checking in, the room I was originally in wasn't bad. The walls were poorly painted and sloppy, there was a light bulb out and I had to have the sheets changed as there was body hair on them. Their idea of a continental breakfast was orange juice, plain bagels and plain oatmeal. There was some difficulty with my reservation so I ended up down the hall for the rest of my stay. This room was absolutely disgusting. A huge glob of old hair and scum in the tub from the drain, an old condom wrapper on the floor, and dust and dirt on everything. There was no remote for the old tube tv, I did not get Wi-Fi in my room unless by the door and even though it was to be a smoke free room, it smelled of smoke and there were cigarette burns on the sink, counters, bed skirt and on the jacuzzi I wouldn't have ever gone near. Had to leave early for a different hotel and the manager Vivian told me she could not refund my remaining days even though she said when I was checking in, that she could as long as it was before 4 o'clock of the day being refunded. After fighting with her about it she called someone on the refund who she told she simply didn't know how to do a refund. Hope they didn't screw up money to and from my bank account. Will never come back.

I am not to sure if the people who run this hotel even run it. The walls are peeling, the drawers have dirt in them, the couch has a huge rip in it. The carpet has multiple stains, the sink leaks and does it loudly, walls are paper thin, and the staff is non existent. Only good thing about the room is the AC! It keeps your room nice and cold. No matter what! See the link on YouTube about the Fire Ants that attacked me in my sleep.

My car got stolen on March 9th and nobody has contacted me. When u go in the lobby you see they have security camaras, but get this, they don't record! I found this out when my friend told me. She has been at this hotel for 2 months and my vehicle made the 3rd one stolen. You would think that with this many problems they would have better security. I feel like I was set up because everyone I spoke with knew about the cameras not working so who's to say an employee called one of their people to pick up my car after they found my keys. If u value your vehicle don't stay here they set false expectations. The manager supposedly didn't know how to rewind the tape back so he was waiting for the other manager to come in and that was 8 days ago. Shouldn't take this long.

From the outside it looks decent but inside is a whole different outlook! The workers our basically non existent, open doors after one knock, the elevator gets stuck, the hallways smells like and ash tray, the rooms smell just as bad, the ceiling is peeled off here and there. The only nice things are the beds! They are comfy! This place needs maintence/ remodeled.

Microtel Inn was a GREAT stay! It was clean, comfy and felt like home! They have the best comforters that grabs and clings to your body perfectly! Not like the other hotels with the blankets that feel like your laying under news paper! The staff was friendly and very helpful, the bathrooms smelled fresh and they have LCD TV'S! Thats not common in a economy hotel! But to top it off, the price was WONDERFUL! I didnt have to worry about gas or eating when I woke up! I'm on my way back there for an extended stay because my husband is training at Fort Gordon. If you asked me, I would say Microtel all day.
