Review of Hilton Atlanta Airport 4*

We hosted a small business event here last month and it was a very frustrating experience. We won't be coming back. The person in charge of our event never came to introduce themselves or follow up on our event at all. The only post-event communication we received was the invoice (which had charged us for something we never ordered, but they did finally remove after I pushed back 2 times to get the charge taken off). They provided us a rate for our meeting space, and then increased the price of the A/V equipment from $250 to $1500, because we had MORE people book a room for our event than planned?!?! So, we provided them with MORE revenue, and as a result, they tried to charge us $1500 to use the exact same equipment. The meals at the on-site restaurants are HORRIBLE. We were one of 4 tables in the restaurant and our food took over 45 minutes to arrive. So on the 2nd day, we explained that we were in a rush and HAD to leave in 35 minutes. Still the food didn't arrive until about 45 minutes later and we had to have it boxed to go. In addition to the obscene pricing for the snacks ($35/dozen cookies), we had to pay a 24% gratuity! For the person to roll the cart of food out and leave it there, then roll it away when we were done, we paid $500 in gratuity for 2 days. (And that was not for a plated meal. It was simply for a self-serve snack cart). They didn't have record of our staff's rooms when we tried to check in, after we'd sent over the detailed spreadsheet showing who was staying on which nights. The front desk repeatedly told our business guests that they knew nothing about our event or that our event was already booked when they called to reserve rooms for the event. (when we didn't cap the event booking). There was just a horrible lack of customer service, communication, and the reduced room rate is completely negated by the $15/day parking, the $15/day internet use, the $11 for a coffee and muffin. WoW! Just bad and expensive and no attention to detail across the board. There are at least 10 other hotels on that exit near the airport — we'll be using one of them for our 2 events per year from now on.
