Beautiful for snorkeling and diving.

Highly recommend this dive shop. All of the staff were so helpful and made sure we all had a great dive. Our dive master Curtis was awesome! After the dive we got free drink tickets to their tiki. Service and staff were friendly and prompt.

Came down from Lake County, FL for some scuba diving. From the second I got there, I was greeted by smiling faces, friendly staff and a super clean room! The pool was perfect, and they have a awesome tiki bar which has a band every night.
Went out on one of their dive charters lead by Capt Katie who was by far the best boat captain I have ever been around. Her positive energy and knowledge of the area made the experience so much fun, and it didn't hurt she was very easy on the eyes. 😊 Her crew was fantastic and very helpful getting off and on the boat.
I'll definitely be back for more diving adventures!

Nice People, Great Tiki Hut.

These guys are fun! They made the trip so enjoyable and exciting. They take you out to the very best of the reefs and show you where to go for the best experience under water. They said we might see a shark or two and some dolphins, which we did! Lots of big Barracuda and plenty of colorful fish as well as spectacular reefs to explore. We will be back!

Captain Katie took my family and I out for a great trip to Looe Key. It was cold and a little windy but she still put us on some great sites to see! Mark, was a perfect scuba guide for my son and I (while everyone else was snorkeling). He made sure to show us all the critters in the nooks and crannies that we would have missed for sure. We even saw an Eagle Ray and a pod of Dolphins buzzed us! To cap off a great day, the dolphins (and a bunch of friends) stuck around the boat as we were heading back in. The icing on the cake was a You Tube video that Mark took of us. Most places would charge an arm and a leg for something like this. Mark did it as a thank you. I absolutely recommend Looe Key Dive Resort, and can’t encourage you more that getting Mark to guide you is worth every penny!

Good food and boating experience with Kendall on the sea!

We snorkeled with Dawn and Katie yesterday. It was the most beautiful day. We were able to see a lot of fish and beautiful reef. Sharks swimming right under us. I have never seen water more blue and clear. It was slick as glass. These girls and their crew do a wonderful job! I highly recommend them!

The rooms are great price. They keep up the grounds. Park our boat right off our room. Instead of pulling it out of water each time. We stayed 4 days 3 nights. And we had a great experience with day crew.

It's nice to have a One Stop Shop when your on a dive trip. The dive boat is right outside your room, they have a Tiki Bar for food and beverages, a nice Dive Center, and a convenience Store next door. You are only 21 miles from Key West. Just returned to Wisconsin after another great vacation in the Lower Keys. Will and his staff are pros at keeping everyone safe and comfortable as they enjoy their snorkeling and scuba diving adventures. My wife and I (young in mind seniors) have returned annually for the past 25+ years. This time we rented a house boat at the Old Wooden Bridge for the week — what an excellent experience that was. We booked an afternoon snorkeling trip and the experience was the best! Great crew! Our captain stopped on our way to the reef to watch a couple playful pods of dolphins which was much appreciated! The reef was spectacular. Multiple sharks spotted within a few minutes of jumping in the water. The snorkel gear was great and defogger worked well. We spotted 3 Goliath grouper at the first site as well as countless other fish. Our second stop had gorgeous coral and colorful fish. Best snorkeling experience I have ever experienced! Will return! Highly recommended!

Had great morning out on the ocean swimming with the fish, and barracuda and sharks! Awesome! We're also staying nights there. Clean nothing fancy, but very nice!

Great crew and dive staff, their boat was clean and well organized, they never treated you poorly or acted like they are better than you! Had great dive planning and briefings, lion fish hunting help, snacks and refreshments on board! But most importantly they got our team onto a wreck safely and we all had a good time. Highly recommend to dive with and we will be back.

I’ve never stayed in the resort here, but I make sure to go on a snorkel trip with them whenever I’m in the Keys. They have not only a professional and knowledgeable, but a genuinely kind and accommodating staff. They will go above and beyond to make you and your group comfortable. Not to mention, that Reef is one of the best places to snorkel or dive I’ve ever been. It’s beautiful! Thank you to the whole staff, and a special shout out to Jake, Captain Katie, and Brad!

Found this hotel online for very reasonable price compare Florida Keys hotels. My room was clean, with signs of mold at bathroom and old fashion furniture and TV. Two exits, one to the front, right to the bar and parking lot, another to boats dock. With little porch, chairs and tables to enjoy nice view.

Decent place exactly what you expect to find in the Florida Keys. The Tiki bar was hopping and the food and drinks were great. The motel has had some updating but its still old and somewhat worn out. For the price its a decent place in a nice location not too far from Key West buy close to Big Pine Key and Bahia Honda State Park.

Very nice! Especially for it being considered a “two star” hotel. The room was exceptionally clean, albeit, some remanence of past water damage can be picked out if you really want to nitpick, but that should be expected in this area. Not every outfit has bottomless finances to restore every square inch! Beach Life! The tiki bar is cool with what looks to be a new hut-style roof. I’m not a drinker so I cannot comment on the bar tending, but you can’t go wrong with their BLT for a good eat. The pool is very clean and inside a fenced area. It gets sunlight all day, but there are umbrellas and chairs.

We went snorkeling at two locations on the reef for an hour each. Water clarity was not great but Captain had some nice dry humor. They had good quality gear. Provided us with a coupon for a free drink at the bar after the cruise and offered us free use of the pool.

Rental regulator was a struggle to breathe out of. Had my wife (a non diver) return it for me. Charger her $50 extra for dust cap not being screwed on when she brought it from the truck to inside the store. I tried to call 3x to question this and each time the call got declined from the store, which made sense since I had heard the staff joking during checkout about somebody that was calling and they would just hang up on them. The couple returning gear next to her were also being charged the same fee, clearly a sneaky way to to charge customers. As a local I will be spending my thousands per year at one of the other nearby, friendly, well staffed dive shops and will suggest anyone renting my house on big pine to do the same. Hope they enjoy the $50.

Decided to dive the Keyes after a trip was abruptly canceled. Decide for say score it let's head to the Keyes, right move. The Looe Key Dive Center is very professional and has everything you want, including badass shirts, one of which I got. On to the diving potion. The Cataraman KoKomo 2 is spacious even with the 35 guest plus 2 crew memebers. All the staff in the dive shop and on the boat were very friendly and acted in a professional manner. It's nice how they allow the divers acces to the water ahead of the snorkel people as we have heavy gear. The reefs are amazing. When in the dive shop, I took liking to a cool little terra-cotta turtle, which with a purchase was kindly given to me by the staff. I normally avoid the so called "cattle Dive Boats" but even bought this isn't a small group, all the friendly people make up for any slight inconvenience. All in all, if you skip out on Looe Key Dive center while visiting the keyes, you will be missing out on a hidden gen in the Florida Keyes. There are also restaurants within walking distance or a 5 min drive which is nice. Just remember, if you take a photo with the captain Moran statue with a shot you purchase and post it to the tiki hut FB page, they give you the second shot free.

Had an awesome experience snorkeling on the reef. I swallowed some sea water, got sick, but got back in. Crew were very down to earth and helpful, I even got back in and enjoyed more of the reef! Wife got to see spotted eagle ray and a reef shark! They stopped the boat on the way back in to watch 2 green sea turtles. These people love the reef and will help you have an enjoyable time. Will come back with my dive cert next time!

Don't use them. They'll take you out in the worst water conditions and claim it's fine. Don't take the chance as it'll ruin the day you go. Use other companies. The state park trips are more reliable.

You must take this trip! Not only is it affordable the crew is super fun and captain Ron was very informative. On our way back they made the best margaritas. The reef is the third largest reef in the world! We saw so many tropical fish an eagle ray and even a couple of sharks! Such an amazing time! We will definitely be back again!

This place is a great place to stay. The best all round hotel I have stayed at. Located close to everything 27 miles from key west. 3 miles from Winn Dixie. Clean rooms and comfortable beds a big plus. Tiki bar has great bands playing plus the food is good. Best prices on food and drinks I found in the keys. Will be back sep 28-30. I want to do 1 of the dive outings in sep. Highly recommend.

As a local, sometimes you like to be taken on adventures instead of doing everuthing yourself. The entire team is amazing! Especially KT and the dear lady who works inside the dive shop who answered all of my husbands fishing questions (haha). I love fishing and have lived on several different beaches but I'm always hesitant to get in the water. KT is a skilled captain and made the environment fun and comfortable for everyone. I really appreciate that she handed out reef safe sunscreen and was very informative about the reef and all of it's critters. I'll definitely be taking my friends and family when they come to visit.

Beds. Clean SDE. The back overlooks the balcony with a view of the water. Very nice staff.

We took the dive/snorkel trip to Looe Key. This is the operation to go with! They were friendly, easy-going, the gear supplied was good. It's a short trip out to the reef, and the snorkeling there is amazing. We stopped at two different sites on the reef, where we were free to snorkel for about an hour at each site. It didn't feel crowded, since there was so much room to spread out. They were kind and helpful when my friend's daughter didn't feel well. Upon return, everyone was given a coupon for a free drink at their enormous tiki bar, where of course we also bought appetizers. All in all, a wonderful half day snorkel trip! We didn't stay at the hotel.

Construction, cleanliness, a lot to be desired. Dirty shower curtain. Shower base is over 12 inch step down to the floor, no shower bars to hold on to. Was told it is not a handicapped room. However with depth of the step down it's an important accident waiting to happen. Room # 26. TV was only black and white, remote did not operate TV. Neighbor or fixed it after three day notice to office. Staff was nice, Resturant had good food. Place is pet friendly.

AWESOME day snorkeling. We saw a ton of fish, 4 sea turtles, and well over a dozen dolphin. The captain make wake with the boat so the dolphins would swim in it. Very very cool trip.

Highly, highly recommend! Absolutely awesome staff, services, and room. Room is always very clean when we stay. The tiki bar and restaurant is fantastic. The dive center and charter boat crew is amazing. Captain Katie and Captain Ron need a raise! They are fantastic and really care about the reef and the guests. I've taken other charters before and will never go anywhere else again. Looe Key Reef Resort and Dive Center is forever my place to stay while visiting the keys.

Visited in Nov 2017. Unfortunately didn’t get the chance to snorkel due to water conditions at the time.
But the shop staff were extremely helpful and friendly in giving recommendations for other things to do in the keys when sea conditions were too rough.
There are some dive shops who’d have dismissed it as a weather day and have been done serving me in 2seconds.
So just wanted to commend Looe Key Dive Shop on their customer service.

Really great staff. Rough day or snorkeling, due to weather, but the crew still took great care of us. Facility and boats were in excellent shape and the excursions were fairly priced.

Great small hotel and dive shop. Tiki bar on-site with live music. Good prices nice, but no frills rooms. AC, Flat screen, microwave, fridge, shower only. Basic but clean, with a great staff.

For value for money, quite good. Clean room with a microwave and ice cream.

Accommodation as expected. The view from the terrace at dusk, on the other hand, great. My buddy went to scuba diving. He reported poor visibility but they can't do anything. Broadly well.

My favorite bar in the lower keys. Great music almost every night and phenomenal bar staff. I'm sure the diving trips are great too.

My husband got scuba certified here in three days on our vacation in Key West. He selected Looe Key Reef instruction over places in Key West because it has the best dive sites. My husband had private lessons just by chance. Phil was very patient. A great instructor! Due to private lesson there was space on the boat so they allowed my daughter to dive with him during his second and third days. My son and I snorkeled with them on one day, as well. Very nice bonus that we all could join in the fun. The finger reefs we're super cool to snorkel. Great underwater sights… including a ~400 lb. Grouper!

There Tiki bar is comfortable not to pricey the rooms are expensive for what they are. Due to hurricane Erma every thing in the ropoms are new. The rooms back door opens to sea canal with a boat dock for motel guests only. The staff is friendly. The room price was 164$ but we'll worth the price if you spend any time at the bar. The bar also has good food at reasonable prices. I had there 16 of rib eye it included onion, mushrooms and broccoli on the side and French fried potatoes it was very good. All together it was an enjoyable experience.

Stayed here during a motorcycle trip to the keys. They made it easy for us to sneak a few dives in as well. Very good people. Made us feel special, as if we were the only guests they had at the time. Would recommend this dive center to all my friends. I have. Will be going back this winter.

The room was a typical no frills beach room. We went to dive and it we had a great time. The dive shop is right there on site. They were well organized, very patient and the equipment was in excellent condition. The viability was very good and we saw an excellent variety of tropical reef fish. When done they gave us drink tickets for the on-site Tiki bar. The bar has good drinks, live music and friendly staff. The the total package I give them a 5.

I dive a bit in the keys and usually go to Key Largo as it's closer to home (Miami) but if you drive the extra hour and a half to Looe key the reefs are in better shape and there is a great assortment of fish. It's also fairly close to Key West and the diving in Key West isn't that great so I would recommend if you are staying in Key West, dive in Looe Key. They run snorkel and scuba, with nitrox and a full dive shop, rental and classes. They take a pontoon boat that holds about 30 people and it's a 15 minute ride from the shop out to the dive site. This is one of the best operators in the lower keys. Water temp is about high 70 to low 80's year round.

I've repeatedly visited Looe Key to go out on the reefs. I enjoy being taken on several different reefs vs. The same ones when I've taken trips with them. Also the price is great for the two reefs you get to spend time on each for an hour. There are alcoholic beverages on the way back, water, Gatorade, soda, and hot dogs, hamburgers available for purchase on the boat. Some of the best reefs I've been on.

This review is about the hotel and accommodations for boaters. We tow our boat to the keys around once a year for snorkeling and diving, and have tried various places to stay, so we understand what you get in the keys. The hotel rooms are neat, convenient and priced reasonably. You don't spend much time in the room, so you don't need much. I'd definitely stay here again. There's a nice canal directly behind the rooms. We paid $15 to keep the boat here, intending to put it in the water the evening we arrived so we'd be ready to go boating in the morning. Front desk advised us not to use the ramp that night. No real explanation why, but we follow advice, generally. It was good advice, except that he should have stopped before telling us not to use the ramp "tonight. " Should have said "don't use the ramp. " Maybe he could have added "unless you're just putting in a canoe or kayak, " because that's all that this crumbling slope should be used for. Don't use the ramp.

Great place to dive and snorkel, stayed 5 days and made 3 trips to the reef, all were great dives, got to see sharks, Green Morays, spotted eagle rays, Goliath grouper, lion fish, parrot fish, even a couple of HUGE snook tucked well under the coral. Staff were great, rooms and pool are very clean and the grounds well kept. If you dive or snorkel you can't go wrong with these guys. Special thanks to the youngster, Tim for the first dive, and to Capt. James for stashing my mask. I plan to dive here again. Thanks to the crew.

Looe Key Reef Resort was a great last minute decision that turned a fun trip into amazing adventure! The employees are very helpful and very informative. The food and drinks at the tiki bar are delicious and service is fast. But the most unforgettable moments were from the Looe Key Reef dive. The captain mates and divemaster were awesome and made the trip really fun. A must check out when down in the keys.

Had a great time, we called to book the afternoon dive but they didn't have enough open spots. They told us they would use the smaller boat for us, one other dover asked to join us while we were checking in so ended up being 6 on the boat. Capt Ron did a great job planning our dives for us. Will be back to dive with them again.

We did not stay at the resort. My sons and I sid our open water certification dives and one trip as certified divers. Chris was a great instructor and we all had a great time. The tiki bar was great too! Thanks guys.

What a beautiful an amazing experience it is to dine and have drinks at this Exquisite bar everything for making our wonderful manager — the entertaining bar tender and tasty drinks made this night one that will never forget.

Really awesome! Had a room with waterside view. Really big and clean rooms. Everything worked fine. Staff was really nice to us and our diving trip was perfectly organized!

Große Zimmer mit Kühlschrank, Mikrowelle, Kaffeemaschine. Klimaanlage war etwas laut, aber nicht weiter schlimm. Wundervoller balkonausblick! Die tiki bar war gut. Leckere Getränke und echt viel zu essen.

Great experience! Stayed here to do the Adolphus Busch wreck trip and booked an overnight stay as an afterthought. The hotel, dive center, and tiki bar were all excellent. It's rare enough to get an all-in-one location like this, but it was the staff that really made this one of the best stops on my trip to the keys. My expectations weren't high as the websites for the dive center and hotel aren't great, but from diving and dining, check-in through check-out, everything was excellent. The staff here genuinely seem to enjoy what they're doing and made us feel welcome. Rebreather friendly as long as you're self-sufficient. No 100% oxygen fills or scrubber available, and dives are limited to recreational limits on their regular trips. (I'm going to look into doing private charters with them though, as this is the perfect operation to do tech trips! ) Check-in was great with friendly staff that went out of their way to make me at home. Got a main floor motel room with a door to the parking lot in the front, and a door to the canal and dive boat in the back which made unloading my dive gear super-easy. Rooms aren't anything fancy but are a good size and are exceptionally clean. Air conditioning, TV, and fridge all worked well. Picnic tables in the front of the room provided a great spot to dry my dive gear in the morning, and the patio setup on the back of the room on the canal was perfect for doing the same thing in the afternoon. The dive operation was very well organized.

All of us (group of 9) went snorkeling and we all had a blast. We saw so many fish, turtles, dolphins, etc… we all had a great time, the staff were so cool and nice. We will definetly be returning many times for more snorkling/scuba diving trips. Thank you!

Took the family Snorkeling on the Reef. Lots of time and 2 different spots. Captain James and Mate (sorry forgot name) were very knowledgeable and helpful, pointed out Dolphins and turtles etc on way out and back. Only complaint was not having a crotch strap on my security flotation device (not really a complaint, just whining). If you only take one snorkel/dive trip on the keys, I would recommend this trip.

It was a very hospitable hotel, while the rooms weren't extravagant they were clean and had nothing to complain about. The restaurant was very laid back, live music and good tacos. The best part was the dive center, good people, good music and fantastic views of the reef.

Have stayed here twice. Love the tiki bar and the live music. Great food. Rooms are very nice and clean and the staff is very nice. Would not stay anywhere else. Will be there in March for our Honeymoon Will be there in March. Can't wait.

Good location, 30 mins to Key West. Each room has a balcony which is facing the canal. The staff was nice, no problems at all. Rooms were clean. The Tiki Bar is pretty cool with good prices on food and drinks. We spent a great superbowl night there and had loads of fun. The price for the rooms is actually a little too much but it's the Keys…

The staff is great, from the hotel and dive shop, to the bartenders and wait staff. The price for the rooms can't be beat, they are not the prettiest but they are clean and the beds are comfortable. The food at the Tiki bar is good and The drinks are made well. The grilled ahi tuna appatiser is so good I ordered it twice and the wings are a top notch. Didn't have the pleasure of diving with them but they were very helpful finding an alternative for us. If you are looking for a laid back hotel has it all for not a ton of money don't think twice give them a call.

I'm in my four day stay here, about half way through. I got a suite that accomodates my brother, mother, wife and me. We paid about 700 dollars for four nights for four people. The rates are excellent compared to all other hotels we looked at in the upper and lower keys during June. I went diving today and had a wonderful experience. The crew gave us about an hour per dive and was helpful. The prices for the diving were about 100 dollars for two hours for me including renting a bcd, regulator, boat ride, weights and two tanks of air. The tiki bar is fun. The drinks are a bit pricey out of happy hour. We enjoyed the dollar tacos and jam band. I would recommend this to anyone who is looking to dive, see the keys, and have a decent room on a value.
