I found The Westin Tampa Waterside, with my benefits from my companies payroll software ADP. I originally chose it because for the high reviews that it had it was very reasonably priced. My girlfriend and I came for a long weekend to celebrate our 1 year anniversary. I called the front desk prior to check in, and spoke with Champ. I let him know I was having some flowers and balloons delivered, and would appreciate if he would have them waiting in the room. He got so excited for me, and for the opportunity to help me make my trip a special one. Not only was everything in the room when we arrived, but Champ told me that he would have rose petals on the bed as well, and they were. Needless to say, the surprise went over very well. She was brought to tears. My girlfriend was so moved, and I am so grateful that Champ and the staff at The Westin went so far above and beyond. The room was lovely, and so was the view. I will certainly not forget about the amazing experience that I have had at The Westin the next time I am making reservations in the Tampa area. If while staying in the Tampa area you are looking for accommodations that come equipped with comfortable rooms, lovely common areas, and most importantly friendly staff that cares about the quality of your stay and is willing to make sure it is exceptional then try The Westin Tampa Waterside!

Certainly not the Westin experience you expect. This should be a nice hotel, but it’s not. There is no self park option, so you end up shelling out $28 for valet. The elevators are EXTREMELY slow. You will wait up to and beyond 5 minutes for a ride up to you room. My door didn’t open properly and you could tell maintenance had attempted to fix it but failed. The toilet paper holder was falling off the wall. At 8 AM some strange noise starting in the hallway and continued off and on until I checked out at 11 AM. There is an $8 bottle of water placed on your nightstand, how thoughtful of the management. The only redeeming qualities of this place are the location, the kind staff and the comfy bed.

Being on the water front and river walk is very nice. The room AC is quiet and cold, which is nice. Parking isn't great and it's mandatory to valet your vehicle. The breakfast buffet needs a omelette station but the food was good.

Stayed there during a business trip. I was very pleased. Kyle and The Champ were awesome! Two really great guys. Would definitely stay there again just based on how they were.

Terrible service. Got Locked in the room, maintenance had to drill out the lock to get us out. Room service was terrible. Brought food that we did not order. Specifically stated NO onions on food due to allergy, onions all over. Night deal clerk very rude. I would never pay the price for this place or stay again. At least at this Westin. Disappointed.

The first night we got here and we checked in and they try to charge us again for the room and it was a two hour wait on food and which my husband was sick all night and half of the next day. We here for 5 Days which no management have apologizes for nothing. They held money on the wrong credit card because they used an inexperienced clerk to check us in. Still no apology. Room was great and the cleaning crew. 5 stars for the cleaning crew. No complementary drinks breakfast, lunch or dinner.

The room was extremely spacious and clean. I asked the nice man whom delivered my cheese tray for pointers on the restaurants that were good around the area and he took the time to show and walk with me to show me these and tell me about them, so I was very pleased with everything and although this was my first time visiting Tampa Florida, I will be coming back very soon. I recommend this hotel and I promise you will be very satisfied. I rate it 5 stars!

I wanted to reach out and tell you about the most amazing experience we've had at the Westin Tampa Waterside hotel a couple of days ago. Kyle Johnson, Front Office Supervisor, was the absolute BEST front desk person I've ever had the pleasure of dealing with. My fiance and I were there for a weekend getaway, and we were treated so well and with the familiarity of long friends. He made our stay so incredibly wonderful, and we will definitely be visiting other Westins in the future because of this experience.

Well kept, clean hotel. Staff was friendly and helpful. There is valet only parking. Room had a great view of the Bay and was stocked with amenities. Within walking distance of downtown Tampa and Amelie arena.

Industrial feel. Needs an overhaul 10 yrs ago. Great view. Entire place smells of chems/paint (prev reviews said this too? ). Lot of better options at this price.

Where do I start? If I could give this hotel more than 5 stars, I definitely would! After having a rough week, I really needed a good experience on the starting leg of my trip. Kyle, the ultimate hospitality professional, not only was gracious in sharing his connections to my great Home State of Tennessee, but he also sensed traveling on my own I could use a "boost" and made sure my stay at the Westin was a great one! The location is fantastic, the views are great, the gym/breakfast/bar area & culture were amazing, and they even checked back with me to make sure everything was good with my stay at Westin Waterside. The comforts of the bedding, along with the "guest perks" of their hotel (suite) make this the best hotel in Tampa. Stay at this Westin and you'll have a relaxing time with a new perspective on Tampa & it's tourism/business community. Great stay! Thank you Westin/Kyle…

Rooms are large, modern and airy. The hotel bar and restaurant are except, happy hour prices are a great bargain. No need to go elsewhere.

Beautiful place and location. Apparently upgrading because our hallway always wreaked of paint. Was downgraded to 2 queens from a king after making arrangements 3 months prior and checking in on a Thursday. Poor restaurant service. The staff didn't seem to care and the second day the waitress ignored my husband and was making up prices. Somehow she wanted $20 for him to eat without waiting on him or providing any beverage when we had paid $20 for both of us the morning prior. I was given a discount ticket that no one knew about and kept taking to take away from me. Bar staff was great! A little nervous about my credit card statement. The tentative charges don't match the final bill I got. Be careful!

Ok, so I understand that they are doing some remodeling… but this is ridiculous. Pool closed. Every floor I've visited has construction. My room reeks of paint so intensely that I have a sore throat and hard to sleep. Not to mention the extremely loud construction noises from next door and above ALL day. From 8am till nearly 7pm. Constant noise and dust in the hallways. Otherwise staff has been very nice and the room is nice as well. Great views out of nearly every guest room.

Service was top notch as is expected from staying at a Westin hotel. The view and location are also fantastic. However, this location is currently going through renovations and me and my travel companions (4 total) were all given rooms directly next to renovation areas on various floors. The rooms were clean, but had heavy chemical and paint smells that seeped over from the adjacent rooms. Renovations are understandablly unavoidable, but more could've been done to prevent the intense chemical smells or consider those rooms inhospitable. Had we known these were the only rooms available, we would've easily opted for another hotel.

Place was being renovated! Went to lay around pool, the pool area sucked. Workers the only positive! Champ at front desk an Jake in the bar gave great customer service.

Well-kept hotel with a wonderful waterfront location. The rooms are well maintained and clean, the staff is very friendly.
The Convention Center is just a 5-minute walk away.

Beautiful, clean, organized, good reforestation. Ample parking Area for visitors. Well, everything's in order.

Nice area. A huge walking distance from public transportation and mainstream downtown Tampa! Toilet was clogged up. There was evident of a serious plumbing issue. Environment seemed safe and secure!

Where to start… you arrive and get blasted with close to $20 a day for parking then the rooms are extremely over priced $130 for a basic room literally nothing nice or special AT ALL then you have to pay to get Wi-Fi haha Mc Donald's has free Wi-Fi but not the westin that you just spend $150 a night to stay in. Then wake up in the morning and breakfast is $20 for a buffet haha we walked out the "nicer" the hotel lobby the less amenities? we were here for a wedding party but couldn't honor the rate they gave to everyone else. Oh and I forgot to mention you have to have a room key to use the elevator so my girlfriend went to go so something and got stuck in the elevator… the fire department came… the next night I'm in an elevator with 8 people and it gets stuck so we had to sit in there for 30 mins while they reset the sucker probably wouldn't stay here if I was you.

Very nice Westin on the water walkable to the convention center and arena. Up to date and clean. Nice gym with newer Life Fitness equipment. Pool is great with a nice little bar and grill right there. A bit convoluted to get to the pool, though.

The visit was was for drinks with a friend. The bar is not what it used to be. They no longer have a drink menu, only a wine list. The drinks are ok just ok. I would not seek them out for a celebration. The bar is very clean. They have changed out some of the furniture. Round tables to sqaure which took away the intimate feeling. Staff was very nice but did not seem very experienced.

Not impressed, especially for the cost. Rooms not ready and yes they were busy did not disperse rooms in order people came. Once we finally get a room you have to body slam to open the door. The tub drains real slow so when showering you stand in water. The toilet has to be held down to flush and sounds like it's going to explode. VERY outdated. No USB plugs, and old looking. Key kept deactivating amd desk not helpful.

Probably the oldest hotel I have every stayed in, carpets are nasty, windows don't open (I was told for security reasons), forcing you to breath the toxic air in this hotel all night. They may have actually built this hotel before there was electricity since there are no outlets in the rooms, they give you a coffee maker but you can't plug it in! Overpriced, they need to demo this place and start over.

I recently stayed at the Westin Tampa Harbor, and I must admit that my stay was less than gratifying. I booked the Presidential Suite six months in advance for three of my associates and I for a business trip. Not only did we expect luxury and a top-of-the-line stay, but we just expected a great getaway as well based on our prior experience with this exact location two years ago. Upon our arrival we realized the pictures that we viewed online for this exact space did NO JUSTICE. The photos online were nothing like the room. I would never have paid more than $200 a night to room and this place. And to add to that, there was a long list of repairs that need to be done (lamps, furniture, lighting, etc). There is no way that this room was worth paying almost $600 a night. This cost me over $2000 for four nights. I work in real estate investment and property management and I would never ever rent a room of this caliber for this price. I hope they decide that a renovation is in order fairly soon because the prices are astronomical and the rooms are severely overpriced.

I was at the Gasparilla Extravaganza over the weekend and The Westin was the best place to spend Gasparilla. The food and drinks were great, awesome games for the kids, and supporting some some great organizations as well. The view was unparalleled when you consider the only alternative was the packed streets of Bayshore. Will definitely do it again and will bring all my friends who weren't there and didn't have such a good time across the channel.

I attended a reception for music alumni at the Westin, hosted in their Bistro lounge adjacent to the bar. The atmosphere was clean and professional. The catered food was average consisting of meatballs, cheese, sweet philo pasteries, vegetables, and… potato chips. All of the staff was delightful and quite eager to keep the guests happy.

One of this hotel's great advantages is its location. The water view rooms were beautiful! However, the rooms themselves made me feel as though I was staying at a motel. Everything in the room was outdated and dirty. I am not picky, but the least they could have provided was a bathrobe and some extra towels. The food was edible, but what kind of a hotel doesn't have coffee onsite 24/7 especially for a business meeting?! I often felt like I was inconveniencing the staff just by asking them for extra cream and sugar, and they charged me for every coffee I drank while at the hotel. Then there was the ongoing construction that forced our team out of our reserved meeting room because of the toxic fumes coming from who knows where. I didn't get to visit the gym or pool, but this isn't a place that I would recommend for family or friends.

Dirty, poor care, maintenance urge you and did the room.

Terrible service from the moment we checked in. My aunt reserved a room for our wedding night and the front desk agent was unhelpful and made us call her just to check in even though the reservation was in my name. After confirming everything including the incidentals card and check out time with her we finally got checked in. Our room came with a food credit so I ordered some food which was dropped off and billed to the room. After 5 minutes they came back and asked for the food and wanted us to pay cash. I didn't have cash and it was told all was good when 9 ordered it anyway. After calling the front desk, the manager was rather rude and unhelpful so I asked for a corporate service number for more help. I was then told they didn't have one twice and he hung up on me. I found and called the number that supposedly didn't exist and the rep there called the desk manager to mediate. It took two calls from corporate support to get the manager to acknowledge his error. Horrible service and I'm still in the process of resolving everything with corporate (who has been very helpful). The local management is rude and escalated a problem that had a simple solution. My aunt was sending emails as I was on the phone, on my wedding night, thanks to the service provided here.

Everyone was very friendly and polite from the valet crew to check in/check out desk. For the price, I expected to see an updated room or at least a nearly perfect room. The bathroom had areas of visibly bad handyman work, chipped paint, not a big deal but something I would expect at a lower end hotel We were given some 2 for 1 drink vouchers to use at the bar which I was told could also be used for room service beverages or breakfast beverages. I needed to use them for 2 glasses of milk for my small children, at night. I was told by room service that he had to ask his manager if the vouchers could be used. They said they would make an exception this time, and obly one glass of milk. I didn't understand that as I know alcohol is more expensive than milk. In making the reservation, I was taken to a 3rd part site called SPG. I didn't realize that the reservation asking for my CC would then charge the entire amount, immediately, which was nonrefundable, despite the hotel's 24 hour regular cancellation policy. I couldn't get a refund once I got the confirmation email which was essentially immediate. So all in all it was ok, a little underwhelming.

Very dated decor in the main entrance. The entry stretched on and on before reaching the front desk that you had to ride an escalator up to. Parking was $18.75 per day as they explained they do not own the parking garage. As I am a starwood preferred customer, they discounted the parking "slightly" when I mentioned that it was free at the other Westin in Tampa. Decor in the rooms was not up to par for a typical Westin. There was an odor in the room and things were not crisp, or fresh. Dings in the paint and walls, counters were dusty. Beds were comfortable and bedding was clean (the only plus). Compared to the other Westin across town which has the same exact rate there was a world of difference in the quality and cleanliness. In need of a major rehab on the interior. The first thing I noticed on my drive up was all of the lovely black mold on the exterior of the building and was completely put off that they had not bothered to pressure wash the low hanging fascia of the building for what looked like eons. I will not return and will book at the much cleaner, much nicer Westin across town next time since which actually winds up being cheaper due to the hefty parking fees. Management really needs to work on the cleanliness standards here.

Got a room for Friday and Saturday. Nice clean, spacious, comfortable rooms. Plenty of room for a family of 4. Room has super comfortable beds, rugs are clean and soft, and there's plenty of storage space. Haven't ordered room service, or any of the many other services offered. Great customer service. Asked for utensils and the concierge brought a set right up to my room. Love the place so far.

Amazing birthday weekend getaway. I get there around 11 and my room wasn't ready, they gave me a free flatbread and 2 free drinks to keep me busy while I wait for my room. I had called and told them that it was my birthday when I made the reservation — they upgraded us to a beautiful harbour view. When me and my boyfriend got to our room, about 30 minutes later I get a phone call from room service they said they had an amenity to be delivered to my room. They brought my champagne and strawberries to help me celebrate my birthday! I went to the lobby bar for a late dinner and the bar tender over heard that it was my birthday, so he brought me out a cute small cake with a candle and sang me happy birthday. It was an AMAZING EXPERIENCE for the entire weekend. They exceeded my expectations and caused a casual getaway to be an amazing relaxation weekend. it was also the same weekend as the Women's Final Four, so I knew they were busy. But I could not even tell. They were flawless.

Great location (disregard the reviewer who said "it's a bit of drive anywhere. " it's right downtown). Service was friendly — Westin-caliber. A major annoyance was the keycard entry: They didn't quite work on the elevator nor on the room door without great effort.

The event team at the Westin Tampa Harbour Island went ABOVE AND BEYOND all of my expectations. My original wedding venue that was booked for 9 months CANCELLED on me 24 hours before my wedding. We were devastated. But We were referred to the Westin by our two close friends and luckily for us they were completely open on 4/12/15. The staff there made my wedding happen with less than 24 hours to work with. The team made every effort possible in making it the most amazing day of our lives. Delaynna Winters should receive an award AND a raise for the wedding she was able to throw together for us. I have nothing but positive and great things to say. From the delicious food, to gorgeous scenery and great location. Planning on getting married? Then plan to do it at the Westin Tampa Harbour Island.

We thoroughly enjoyed our stay at the Westin Tampa Harbour Island. The service was exceptional! We especially enjoyed Mike Napoli! He took amazing care of us and made us feel as though we were the only guests in the hotel. We will definitely return.

Nice hotel but a bit of a drive to anywhere. Elevators were a problem because of a wedding going on. Clean and quiet.

I tried calling to make a reservation through the block booking department for a conference several time over the course of three weeks. I left several messages, but never once heard back, and was consistently shuffled around, until finally the rooms were all sold out.

We had a very nice stay at the Westin, just stayed one night for our anniversary but the hotel staff was wonderful, Angela was great, sending up strawberries and champagne to our room. When we went down to order a cab they offered to take us to the restaurant in the shuttle great experience would definitely stay here again.

A little pricey considering the not great view and standard room quality. The walls were thin, meaning that a normal to loud conversation could keep you up all night. We could hear the plumbing of every room around us as well as the lovely sound of children running down the halls at 7am. Our AC was not great — couldn't get below 72 degrees but the staff was very nice and friendly and gave no hassle for the room or any noise complaints. Wasn't expecting them to charge for parking, so pay attention to that on the website ($17 a day). Overall not bad but not worth the price.

I always try to stay in the Westin Hotels, just so I know what am I getting into. And this one is no different than any other. They are large hotels, rooms however are not, but they are clean and comfortable. Not to mention is price affordable. 1+.

Terrible. Ordered room service and was told it would be here in 30 minutes. Over an hour later and still nothing. Im also required to pay a $3.50 delivery charge and a 21% tip. What a joke.
