The Hotel Duval is the place to stay in Tallahassee, FL. It has the best staff, with great customer service! The Director of Sales and Marketing — Jay Green makes you feel at home with his hospitality! He is a true asset to the company. I wouldn't stay any where else when I'm in town on business! Clean and comfortable rooms and a great roof top bar for after work drinks :)

There were issues with our room but Jared at the front desk was very accommodating and the manager addressed the concerns promptly We will definitely be back as the staff is probably one of the nicest we’ve encountered in our hotel stays.

Very pleasant staff, gorgeous ambiance, excellent courteous valet drivers, beautiful Emerald and Executive suites and ROOFTOP BAR is EVERYTHING!

This hotel was so gross. Elevators and hall ways were filthy and then you go in the room 🤮. There was a hair on our pillow, we made them change the sheets so we then saw the mattress which looked like someone pissed all over it. The shower looked like it hadn’t been cleaned in months. The staff takes zero pride in cleanliness. Marriott needs to take their name off of this dump.

This Autograph hotel has definitely taken a beating being in a college town. Other than employee professionalism, which this property has from valet to front desk… two things are very important in my personal hotel experience are the beds and baths. This property truly failed on both. Bathroom was tiny, I mean tiny. A 6’+ human might find the bathroom completely unacceptable. The bed was probably perfect for a person that sleeps on their back, side sleepers will not be happy. Very small window in my room that was necessary because of the architecture of the building. Normally I will stay at a less expensive hotel while in Tallahassee but this stay was on the heels of a very stressful time caring for a family member and I figured I’d treat myself… I chose wrong. Pluses, Shula’s and the rooftop bar were both great.

I received the absolute best customer service, staff was so helpful and friendly. I felt like royalty. From the moment I walked in to the minute I left. Amazing staff my hats off to all of you.

Now that they have reopened there is plenty of room to enjoy the outside deck. Service top notch!

The staff were great the entire time, from the valets to the front desk to the housekeepers. All of the staff were very friendly and asking if all of our needs were met. The 8th floor bar lounge was nice, and the bar staff were awesome. The ballroom is gorgeous. Would definitely stay again.

Really liked the hotel. It’s classy and chic. The staff are super helpful. Must single out Demarcus who moved us, on our request. There was road works on the Main Street (completely outside the control of the hotel) and he was at pains to make sure the new room was on the other side of the hotel. Thank you. That said, in the first new room, the huge headboard fell off as my child got into bed! We were re-roomed immediately. Must single out Frank too, as he was massively helpful and friendly at breakfast. Valet staff (sorry, I don’t have their names) were outstanding. The rooms in general could do with a good vacuum! One of the carpets had bacon bits all over it, and our bathroom floor was begging for a good clean! Overall, great, some rooms just need a good clean. Would stay again.

Found this sanctuary in the middle of the night on our road trip. Drove 2 hours longer than expected this night because my in-laws booked a room that was absolutely unacceptable. Found this gem and everyone got a wonderful night's rest. The valet was super helpful and patient with us as well. Excellent service and accommodations. The kids thought the river rock shower floors were the best thing ever, and still talk about them to this day (~2 weeks later). Would absolutely book again.

Was'nt a pleasant stay! Super noisy and walls were paper thin! The room I was in, I could hear the traffic from the road! I got no sleep and when I finally fell asleep (early morning) I was awaken with all the noise in the hall way and from the room next door! I could hear clearly what they were saying next door. Not to mention the house keeper knocking so loudly on the door and it wasn't even close to check out time! I was literally about to scream! I was so looking forward to getting home so I could get some sleep! To add to that, the hotel is OK, I didn't see what all the hype was about. The rooms were just OK. For what we paid for the room, it really wasn't worth it (especially since I got no sleep! ) I was disappointed. Don't think I will stay there again.

My wife made reservations at Shula's (the hotel restaurant) and booked a night stay at the hotel for my birthday. The food was excellent and the hotel staff was great. The complimentary (birthday) cheesecake for desert was really good.

Room was nice but not exactly what we expected for the price. The bar at Level 8 was awesome. My biggest issue was being double charged as we checked out. They rectified the issue, but I'm still waiting to have the money returned to me.

Great location. Room was clean. Rooftop bar was amazing. Hotel doesn't know how to properly charge guests at checkout though.

The room was very nice. I was mainly there for a wedding dinner at Shula's. I had the steak and it was fantastic, their sweet tea is perfectly sweetened as well.

We went here for a company function and Hotel Duval cater the food and as you can tell by the pictures this is it we had raw chicken and Sliders that were dry the best thing was the cheese and fruit platter even the tea was bitter. However as a hotel I'm sure they're fine.

Helped my colleagues and I to set up a benefit event for our student organization. Very friendly and helpful. Would definitely work with this venue again.

Ate at Shula's. Always great steak. Valet parking is nice. Wait staff in hotel is always friendly, but as I am never a guest of the hotel not much past cordial. Level 8 has beautiful sunset views, if you don't mind all of the people.

The hotel lobby, bar, restaurant and staff are top notch. Too bad they have to work at this hotel. The rooms are small and odd. The designer went too far with modern glass design for all of the interior doors, particularly the bathroom. There is no privacy. In addition, the temperature control in the room made for a very uncomfortable night for my husband and I. Don't miss Shula's restuarant dow stairs, but for the money and comfort stay at the Sheraton around the corner.

Poor reservation process! DON'T MAKE YOUR WEDDING PLANS HERE!. I gave my son and his new wife a wedding gift of 2 nights at the Hotel Duval in the Sapphire Room. This is where he and his new wife wanted to stay after their wedding in March. He made initial reservations months before the wedding, then called back a couple of days before the wedding to confirm the reservations. They couldn't find his reservation! He had his reservation number, who he spoke with, etc. After speaking to several people, they assured him it was taken care of and there would absolutely not be any problems when they arrived on their wedding night. The hotel personnel he spoke to attributed the problem to the "main office" and computers. Then when he and his new wife arrived on their wedding night for a 2 night stay, the same thing — oops can't find your reservation — and NO they don't have their special room they had reserved! Again, blamed it on some computer glitch. He gave them the reservation number, and who he had spoken to AGAIN. Eventually they gave him a different "special" room. DON'T PLAN YOUR SPECIAL STAY AT THE HOTEL DUVAL unless you want to take a chance of a lost reservation and poor excuses.

It has been over a year since I stayed here, but my room and customer service was great. The dining was also nice. I had a small issue with the shower and they offered to fix it while I was there or transfer me to a better room.

Attended a special dinner in one of Shula's private rooms on Saturday. Service was good but one server serving the appetizers to 12 diners took way too long. He'd serve two then go back to the kitchen (I guess) for two more. The first served who chose to eat, we're finished before the last few were even served. Those of us who chose to wait for all to be served waited quite some time. My salmon dish was fine but three women around me who'd ordered Porterhouse and Rib-eye steaks complained that they were tough and one was way undercooked. Also, the bathrooms, while in themselves are very nice, private and well-appointed, are too far from the restaurant. I personally won't recommend Shula's.

We enjoyed our stay at the Hotel Duval. It is located near downtown Tallahassee. Our room was we'll appointed. The bed was comfortable. The nightstands on each side of the bed had a large surface for holding items and they each had an outlet in the table surface with 2 usb ports and 2 electric outlets. The shower had a central rainfall type head, which is not my favorite (but many people like that. ) The bathroom door (s) were sliding frosted glass. There was plenty of hot water. Our room was on the fourth floor facing Monroe Street. We were not troubled by any traffic noise. There was a nice view to the west, but one has to stand to see it. The window was high and fairly small. This was very appropriate for a western facing room, otherwise the afternoon sun would have overheated the space. I would recommend the Hotel Duval.

Very clean room, excellent restaurant and service. I left my iPad in error, it was turned in and being mailed to me. That kind of honesty speaks volumes for the staff.

Wonderful hotel with great amenities. The customer service was truly excellent. I completely enjoyed myself here and I wish I could have stayed longer!

Beautiful lobby and great restaurants within the hotel, but the location was bad. Nothing around. Also, my sheets had not been changed from the last guest.

I was there for a delivery but from what I saw the place was very clean and had a very fancy and high class atmosphere. The staff were great and they helped me find the room I was looking for.

This hotel is OK. I had some good experiences and bad ones. I had an incident with a $100 charge for sheets, and I am extremely pleased with the attention the hotel gave to the my response (they listened, replied and followed through). The room was relative average-sized, a mix of contemporary and old features. I wasn't sure what to make of the window shape or its natural light. It wasn't a room that made me think, "I want to relax in my room. " My favorite things were the large screen HD TV and the soap. There was also a bit of ambience.

Nice, cute hotel. Modern design. Rooms are on the smaller side, but perfect size. Bed was comfortable. Pillows are a bit small, but they were comfortable. Nice staff. Valet parking. They had complementary cookies in the lobby the afternoon I left!

This is an older hotel with some renovations. Unfortunately not everything was renovated. For example the rooms have been modernized but there is still Wall units for air-conditioning. There is a general musty smell, suggesting that the carpets should be replaced in the hallways. In general, the staff is amazing and very helpful! Some attention to detail is warranted. The conditioner in my bathroom has obviously been used by the guest before me but was not replaced. In addition the so-called closet space did not accommodate regular hangers. This visit was paid for my my company. I would not stay here again if I had a choice.

Not the best experience. Recommend other Marriott hotels in the area. Rooms are incredibly small… NYC hotel room small. Windows are also incredibly small. Not sure how this even passes as a room by fire code.

The hotel rose above our wildest expectations and will forever hold a special place in our hearts. It was Christmas of 2015, and we had to stay in a hotel over the Christmas holiday for the first time is our lives and the lives of our kids. We had just moved across country, and had an ill child. The staff at this hotel was awesome. Upon asking and explaining our unique circumstances, they shopped for us to have one gift for each child under our Christmas tree on Christmas morning. They also provided us complimentary food upon arrival. The personalized card that we received was signed by Jennifer Bias, a guest service representative… thank you. This review is long overdue, however family trials are tough. Better late than never & very well deserved!

This hotel does NOT deserve to be classified as a Category 7 Autograph Hotel. Awkwardly-designed rooms, fraying carpet and fixtures, musty odors, spotty service, etc. I'm appalled that I just paid $198 for a night's stay. Comfy bed though. About all I can say.

We had a birthday dinner at Shula's and chose them because of a buy one get one free coupon. We loved the ambiance of the restaurant and the service was perfect. The only thing I didn't like was having the gratuity added to the bill. I asked and was told they do it when someone uses a coupon. Normally I don't to extra when the gratuity is already on the bill but in the case I let it go and tipped extra. Looking forward to going back for another visit.

Really nice property. Great rooms, service etc. Only "improvement" I would offer is to rethink the shower tile. It just has NO potential to look clean, even if it were. Plus:. Wet smooth Stine's plus soap just seems like a slip waiting to happen.

This is the second time staying at this hotel. It is very nice. Modern and beautiful. The 7th floor lounge is wonderful for breakfast. It and Level 8 bar feature a wonderful view of the city.

Adam was our server, and he did a phenomenal job. The wine was always full and the meal was fantastic. The steak was cooked with perfection and the rest of the food was beyond expectations. As a business owner, we required a specialized menu, and they were very accommodating. Great job.

The service and décor was excellent with one major exception. We stayed in a room with double-beds and a bathroom that opened onto the room. This in itself was not a problem. However, the bathroom was closed off by two floor to wall panes of frosted glass that slid along a track and met at a corner. They were either poorly installed or poorly designed because they were not able to fully touch and left a two inch gap. This gap was in front of the toilet. There was no sound insulation and anyone who used the bathroom was visibly exposed. This was terrible (for all of the reasons one can possibly imagine). If all of the rooms have this design, I would NEVER come back to stay, no matter the prices or amenities. However, if this was just a weird quirk limited to this one room, I would stay again.

Staff was very accommodating as I got in very early but they still let me in a room to rest before visiting a client. The rooms were updated and everything was convenient. Rooftop bar was very, very nice. Would definitely stay there again!

Great place for relaxation. Awesome service. Tremaine (one of the employees) was extremely helpful in every aspect. He was extremely knowledgeable about the area and made great suggestions on entertainment. The staff in the restaurant also had impeccable customer service. Level 8 was also a joy with a great view of the city. 5 stars.

Nice rooms, good shower, clean room and bathroom, comfortable bed, courteous and professional service at reception desk both in-person and on phone, good air conditioning. A quiet, professional atmosphere in which you can sleep and focus on the day ahead. Breakfast was good quality and service was excellent. Bathroom ceiling tiles were plastic faux-wood and one was dented, which decreased the quality and chic feeling of an otherwise excellent hotel.

Such a great atmosphere. The room is great, front desk and valet staff were very friendly and polite. Bartenders and banquet staff at the wedding were incredible, especially Kasey. She anticipated our needs and created a great experience for us. We had a great time.

Very good, modern hotel, well located. I didn't like the fact that they only have to enforce parking.
