Must stop for people that love history and haunted hotels! I didn’t see anything but heard all about. Also…great shrimp and grits.

Lovely hotel! Beautiful lobby and rooms with a great experience. Thank you Ms. Lannett for making our stay pleasant. This was our 5th anniversary trip. We plan on bringing back our kiddos. What a beautiful lake and outdoors area behind the hotel as well. ❤️🌻

People were great, hotel was clean and decorated nice for the time period it was built in.

It was clean, beautiful, and breakfast was delicious. We found it by accident but will definitely stay again when we travel through. Everyone was very hospitable and nice.

The new sandwich cafe has really great food and excellent service. There are very few good lunch places around DeFuniak Springs, this one should definitely be on your list as a weekly lunch spot.

One of the VERY BEST HOTELS / B&B's / Restaurants in Florida and I have been to hundreds during my 25 years of travel. Charming, clean, quiet, fantastic staff and Innkeepers. I have stayed here twice while on business trips within the past several months and have always stayed an extra day to tour the town and Antique shops, I will be back every chance I get! Perfect for those who crave a laid back atmosphere and get away from the conventional hotels and chain restaurants. Great value, prices are excellent.

My boyfriend and I were given a deluxe romance package for Hotel Defuniak and I can't describe enough how amazing this place is! The hospitality is so welcoming and warm, and the atmosphere embraces you in a very cultural and historical comfort. I don't have a single complaint from the cleanliness, to the beds, to the breakfast served. A huge thanks to the owners for such great business, they seemed sad when we left! Lol They even contacted me and mailed my pajamas when I accidentally left them behind. DO keep in mind this place has been here since the 1920's, so the rooms are normal hotel size with high ceilings, so deluxe is what deluxe was back then, and I love how they kept that originality.

We stayed one night and wished we had booked for more. We actually booked for a longer stay in October based on our experience this first time. EVERYONE was very warm and charming and super friendly. The rooms were all unique and we loved all the little touches. The breakfast was great and the restaurant next door, Bogeys, was 5 star in every way. We are recommending to everyone and will stay as often as possible. If you're into antiques there are many places to shop. And be sure to visit the Little Big Store. Brought back a lot of great memories.

My wife, five year old and I were fortunate to pick this hotel as a stopping point on a recent trip this August. We were treated incredibly well by the staff who really gave us personal care. They had already added a bed for our daughter to the room by the time we arrived. The staff made certain that we had dinner reservations in their restaurant. And *wow* was that a find. My wife commented that her grouper dinner was the best she had ever had. Honestly, there is no better restaurant in the region, and it is right there in the hotel. A sign outside the restaurant states "Reservations Suggested". It was a Wednesday night that we were there, and it was jammed full, no doubt because it is a great restaurant, I loved my steak, and we all loved their hot oven bread. Very affordable as well. My wife took the trouble to describe her experience at the restaurant as better than "Berns" in Tampa. We walked around the DeFuniak Springs lake that is one of two perfectly round lakes in the world, took in some antique's shopping and visited Florida's oldest library. The hotel is very pleasant and it has Wi-Fi internet access. Our room had it's own central air-conditioning wall thermostat, so no noisy wall style units and very nice and cool. It is a hot summer. The breakfast was perfect, in a cozy "deli" style part of the hotel. Overall a magnificent find, and a big thank you to the hotel staff for their superb hospitality.
