What about… Bugs in the room, cleanliness lacking… The location Go elsewhere rather and spend a few dollars more.

More or less what you would expect for the cost, but it's clean, right next to a Starbucks, and there's a decent local coffee shop across the block. I would definitely stay here again. Just don't expect the Ritz.

Hotel Lowcost But a bit expensive anyway, we are in Miami in April obviously should not be expected at reasonable prices. The hotel dates from 1950 but it is clean and well maintained, the city and the sea are a two-step… car.
No view but a Starbucks cafe has 50 meters.
The breakfast is included in the price but pay attention to the taxes which they are not included add 20% personal friendly.

The whole experience was horrible. In my room there wasn't any adult channels, NO phone inside room, hotel overly charged my credit card without my consent, neighboor room knocking on my door like it was the police at 2 am… rooms are nice and clean, but overall experience was not worth $117.00. Plus a $100 deposit. Also there was no manager to talk to about my room issues which included NO PHONE inside room.

It's pretty much exactly what the tagline for this location claims. The rooms are sensibly comfortable and minimalistic, but they offer what you need for a place to rest. The room was the kind of clean where you can still smell the bleach used to disinfect the surfaces, which I could appreciate. Despite its age, the Shalimar is relatively cute from the exterior. The parking is not exactly a pleasure. Breakfast in the morning is somewhat unique. The appliances are outside. You'll find plenty of restaurants and shopping in the area, and you're quite close to the water.

Nice. Quaint place. Built in the 1950s. One room. Cozy bed. Good for 1 night respite before cruise.

Who needs a support to sleep a maximum of two nights is very good is very clean the bed was very comfortable yes it is a bit noisy because from right on Biscayne Boulevard But if one is tired you sleep quietly the breakfast a little poor however it was not so bad.

Easy and enough for a couple of nights.

We arrived early hoping to drop off our luggage, until later in the day, when we could check in. The lady at the desk was really nice. She checked us into our room early. Our room was very clean and nice.

Classic American hotel with very thin walls noisy near the road where buses transit trucks and cars. The bathroom very small. I would not go back for sure.

Standard Motel… There is Wi-Fi, a small breakfast and easy to check-out. Price/performance is fine. The room was quite clean. (Motel level stop)

My time spent at the Shalimar enjoyable I like to say that first off the AC blow cold very very cold walk in the room it was very nice and clean did not smell like smoke the TV however was a little bit crappy all the stations had static so I brought along my screenbeam and watched movies on my phone I was out most of the day for a special event in the area the Spartan Race and I didn't have the opportunity to spend my breakfast tickets so when I spoke with he offered me of their continental breakfast the equivalent of what I would have have for the day spent at this hotel which worked out great because when I got back from my event I was able to enjoy my bagel and cream cheese I would definitely come back to this hotel I believe that it was worth it.

Nice normal motel where to spend a couple of nights. Although they are nice and try to improve a lot with a little affection and imagination.

Clean hotel with very courteous and helpful staff. We did not have any wash cloths and no blow dryer. All in all good place for the money.

The rooms were clean. The customer service was adequately fine. They offer a rich breakfast and it is a good choice for a place to stay in Miamo beach.

They're doing everything possible to shut this place down. The manager lady was so rude, apparently you can't stay longer than a week. Was barely there for a week and she said "this is a vacation resort not a place to stay". First of all we don't live here. Secondly, a resort? No pool, no ice machine, owner following you and watching you. No fan in bathroom. They hover over their goddamned bagels like vultures. No phones in the room so she had threateningly approached us while we're getting out of our rental car. She said they charge you a $20 fee each time you extend for breakfast and cleaning… Isn't cleaning always included? What if we don't want their shit bagel breakfast? They have unwelcoming signs everywhere, the first thing you'll see in your room is a note about the $100 they'll charge if you get food stains on the linen or if there is leftover trash in the room or in the bathroom they a have a sign about the the building being old so be careful what you flush because it's quote "nasty"… Every time I would see her she was fake. She didn't say good morning instead on the first day I checked in she gave me the 5th degree about what room I'm in and when I'm leaving. And basically told me she was stalking me when I called a couple days later to extend she said that I have no room service sign on my door and that she saw my partner go get hot water for coffee… Wth? Built in 1910 so expect mold.

There was plenty of breakfast with fruit and yogurt. The room was very clean and comfortable. For our purposes it was OK especially also with free parking.

Very clean room Liquid shower Gel Pleasant. No smoking. Breakfast corect. Only fault the outside lamp lit hugely our room even closed curtain. Pleasant and smiling staff.

Deficient! Staff was anything but friendly. It was very noisy at night. Both the guests celebrated a party as well as the street noise. We got no info on public transport, bus etc.
Breakfast only until 08.45 am then all, only 4 tables in the room but 50 guests. Coffee was empty and toaster defective.
Room is quite ok, air conditioning is so stunk. No hairdryer available.

Absolutely disgusted. I go up to the counter to complain of dirty sheets (attached photo), and get handed new ones to do it myself. Professionalism is non-existent. What kind of place makes a guest clean up previous guests messes. No thanks. Please do no go here. Did what I had to do unfortunately continue my stay with my family.

Don't waste money on this place. Free breakfast was a joke. Only one microwave and it was outside. No washcloths. Had to use towels to shower. Overall experience just wasn't worth it.

It is a room built in 1950's. Small, musty, and not romantic at all. The bed is a squeaker and walls are thin. Nice office personnel but not a place to sleep peacefully or comfortably.

I called to book a room. He said he had one available. I gave him my name & card number to hold it for 30 min until I could get there. He said he’d hold it for an hour. I got there about 45 min later & he had sold it. Totally unprofessional. Got a room up the road at budget inn & it’s awesome. Very friendly staff.

Best location to get around Miami… No matter where you have to go Biscayne Blvd. Leads you there.

Ok Motel. The location is pretty off and the uberdrivers told us to be careful during the evenings/nights. Breakfast was ok, bagel and a yoghurt, basic. Rooms were tidy and clean. Staff was nice.

I stopped in to inquire about a room and a soon as I walked into the lobby the clerk left. I stood out front and waited on her for nearly 10 min when she came storming up to me and very rudely said if your not staying here you have to leave. Lol. I was shocked. I got a room up the street where staff is friendly and helpful. I called and emailed the Shalimar to talk to manager and got nothing. I did find out that the woman's name is Angie.

Staff was awesome! Christian was very informative about the area and check in was a breeze!

Had a great time staying at this Motel. Very centrally located, close to downtown Miami and South Beach. The rooms are very nice, and AC worked great for us. The breakfast is filling, be it that it is continental, nothing too special, but it comes in a fun basket. Shout out to Ricardo who is one of the employees who works at the front desk. He made our experience great by resolving any issues immediately! We had our fridge go out on us, and in the middle of the night, he was completely willing to get it fixed right away. There are other examples as well. Thanks for having us!

The property itself is in a nice quiet location. Although this is a motel, I have to give it two thumbs up for the cleanliness. Not what I was expecting. The bed was a bit lumpy, but comfortable. The shower was clean and stocked. Furnishing was modern… overall, I would use this motel again. Great location! Lots of places to eat around the area, starbucks is just around the corner…

The worst place we ever stayed! I can't even say worst motel because that place can't even be described as a motel! I can't say anything good about this hole. You don't feel safe there. The staff are not trained to be doing what they should be doing, the room smell bad really really BAD and the bed is uncomfortable, the restroom is awful and really old like everything else. There is no breakfast, they give you a basket with 1 bagel, 1 tiny cup of orange juice and 1 tiny iorgut and that's it. I can't say the price is good because I fell like we only wasted our money. Believe me you would rather spend 50 dollars more and stay somewhere else!

I went once, the service is great, the staff members are friendly. The rooms are clean and neat. I would definitely recommend this place.

I get that motels are sparse on amenities. But our room was bordering on unbearable. Smelled like it had been freshly painted and gave me a migraine. No screens on the windows to ventilate the room and I had to ask the front desk to allow me to turn on my AC unit so I could turn the fan on. Wifi unreliable. Front desk was not manned at 10 am when we checked out, finally had to go find staff who were incredibly rude. They also run your card for an extra deposit (! ) that is refunded once you check out (not a pre-auth. )

Some give them most beautiful experience being at this motel friendly people and always cordial to give it needed thank you will be back soon.

I have to admit it, the staff there so nice! And there's free parking and free breakfast (not exactly a good). Wouldn't recommend it though… The hotel is not like they show in the pictures, the bed is to soft and it not on a good neighborhood.

Hello I am in the hotel and the room is nice, clean and comfortable. Room N° 105 with 2 beds. They charged Me U$U 5 x person x day-to-title-of-fee. I think that x is cleaning. Incredible. Not what I had scheduled. But x now all is well.

Don't even deserve a one star. Nothing like the pictures. Completely run down! Walked in and lady at front desk super rude. Have never been treated with such disrespect. Would not recommend EVER! STAYYY AWAYYYYY.

There was pee on the toilet seat, the bathub was clogging up and towels were missing. There was no vent in the bathroom which made it stuffy and the door didn't close. The Wi-Fi connection was ok. Parking was limited but free. The room was very basic and the door didn't feel safe. The clerk was friendly. I wouldn't stay there for more than two nights.

I would give this place 4 stars, but the Wi-Fi is problematic and not reliable so only 4 stars overall. Rooms are pleasant, somewhere between basic and cute. But overall clean. Common areas have been recently upgraded and are attractive. A lot of international younger guests appear to be staying here.

Place is a dump… complimentary breakfast is a joke… and the charge extra $5 per person per day cleaning fee… which is not advertise on the motel website… I DO NOT know how this place received a 3 star rating.

It is very expensive for what it is. The bed can be uncomfortable, doubtful cleanliness, the air conditioning noisy and the area is dangerous at night. If he had been asleep in the car, it would have been better!

Nice Hotel but the continental breakfast costs u 5$/day/person and they don't tell you that there is also a 100$ security deposit that u get back if u don't break anything in the room. A big plus is the rooms are really nice and it's quiet.

The shalimar was a great place I worked at never had a problem there but unfortunately I no longer work there it was worth it.

Perfect Motel for the price you pay and for one night cruisers. I didn't expect a Hilton but the reviews were all great so I figured I'd give it a go. The employees are extremely nice and checked us in before 3 which was great since we got there at noon. The room was clean just a little musty because I guess they don't leave the air on usless the room is occupied. After about a half hour the room cooled down and the smell went away. If your just looking for somewhere to crash for the night I would suggest the Shalimar. Cheap, clean, and friendly. For 100$ what more could you ask for? Don't listen to the negative reviews for those who don't expect a security deposit (which ALL hotels have) or those who don't like the decoration. Those people shouldn't be able to post reviews LOL.

Hi, I stayed in the Shalimar Motel on 2nd week of November. I had loaded all my luggage in to my Car at 8 AM EST and went for having break fast, its just opposite to my car. Some unidentified person came in car Broke the glass of my car and stolen brand new laptop, Ladies Valet and Nokia Lumia Mobile in just 13 seconds. When I checked with hotel reception they were not serious and not helpful. I noticed in CCTV-Video footage thief was running towards his car. I lodged the police complaint but video footage was not clear hence couldn't able to identify the thief. I will not recommend this Motel because security is more important than anything else. Hotel management are not bother and least worried about the incident.

When we arrived I was very skeptical of this hotel. The outside didn't look like it had been updated for a very long time, however, the rooms were very clean and the beds were comfortable. The continental breakfast was pathetic, it consisted of a cup of coffee, a piece of fruit and a bagel and if you wanted more than that you had to pay extra. The one surprise that we did receive when we got there was the damage deposit that they required. We had 2 rooms and it was $100 a piece. It served its purpose for us, but this would be one place that we will not stay at again. For $180 a night, I will stay in a place that at least has a swimming pool and a real breakkfast.

We had a wonderful time, The front desk and housekeeping staff were very helpful and sweet. The rooms were clean (smelled great like in-scents), reasonable size and Loved the King bed! Breakfast in the morning was nice and is included. Good location, easy to get to Miami beach. :).

It's a great motel for the price. Bus stop in front of the motel going towards downtown or venture mall. Just a short walk to a local beach.

Really nice place. Area has changed nicely.
