Affordable but unpleasant. Upon arrival the lobby looked promising. There is a lovely lounge area that appears to be under restoration as I never saw the lounge open during my stay. Once we got to the room, things started to take a turn. The hotel needs updating, but for the price, I can rationalize this exception. However, I could not get over the literal bugs in the bed. I picked 3 flying ants out of the covers. Needless to say I did not sleep well that night. The following day we requested new bed sheets, which eventually came, but noticed there were no fitted sheets on these beds? Just two flat sheets and a thin blanket? I found that very odd and questionable. The bathrooms were dingy and would do well with some bleach and a coat of paint. The water temperatures in the shower were very inconsistent, ranging from scolding hot to luke-warm. Again, for the price, the shower is of no real concern. Parking was a miserable experience. Tell me how yours guests are expected to stay up until 3AM to secure parking in fear of having their vehicle's towed whilst they sleep at your establishment. Sheer insanity. For the amount of money I had to feed the meter ($12 every 3 hours until 3AM) and the inconvenience that caused, I would have spent the same amount elsewhere for a better experience. As a hotel it should be your obligation to provide parking for your guests. I took into consideration that this is a common practice in Miami, and so I gave my overall experience 3 stars.

Believe the reviews. Don’t give it the benefit of the doubt like I did. This hotel smells like weed 24/7 and they are fine with it. Cockroach found in room and they did nothing. Door in bathroom didn’t close, place is run down and dirty and the first night I was offered a room with a temporary air conditioner and no working light. This place is ghetto and trashy and not worth the stay. Only reason I didn’t leave is because they charged my card immediately upon arrival. Asked to speak to a manager on 3 occasions and it wasn’t an option. This is not a place for kids& Pool is filthy.

Read a lot of bad reviews and honestly was terrified to come! But was very pleasantly surprised! The location is AMAZING! Had a nice pool and comfy beds! Or room had a beautiful view of the ocean! It was a little outdated but I paid 400$ for 5 nights on South Beach with an ocean view! You can’t do better than that!

Excellent location with a beach view, the room had balcony with a very nice seaview that. It has a pool, the hotel is improving this in remodeling, change of owner. The facilities are old and the carpets in the hallways are filthy with spots in some places is the only bad detail I saw… but good is a 3 star hotel. And it's four blocks from the Lincoln. This over the Collins almost. Budget and Nice Hotel.

The front desk was helpful but room service was terrible. We had 4 guests and they would only give us 3 sets of towels. We had to keep calling room service for more towels and they didn't clean our room until the last night. The pictures online make the place look much nicer. Very poor room, dirty. The location was the best part of this hotel. Also online they say no fee for parking but you have to pay a parking meter all day which comes out to $36 a day, so don't be fooled. Never again.

4 and a half hours to be able to log in with the check in, all to give us a room in appalling conditions of hygiene and maintenance. High presence of artifacts defective such as a backup bed, a bathroom, a shaft of air conditioning, among others. Cleaning quite deplorable. And finally poor customer service and lack of response to the problems already mentioned. Definitely not recommended.

Well located. Very unsafe. You may not use the pool (on the recommendation of the hotel) because it takes people from the outside.

I gave them a star merely for the fact that their pool was nice and their location was great for the beach. Otherwise. Ugh. I don't think the cleaning staff know how to use vacuums. We stayed there two nights and the AC broke 2 times. I was nervous getting into the tub. I think that's black mold in the closet. The mattress had a huge brown stain on it. The breakfast buffet, while it had a nice variety of foods, also served stale pancakes and French toast that were actually difficult to cut with a knife. I would highly suggest spending a little more money and going somewhere else. This place should be gutted and rebuilt from ground up.

Also not for 50 euro the night I would book the. Disaster.

A disaster. We are still in the hotel. We are going in 2 days. We pay 1.500 u$s. I'm sorry that we stole. I already talked with the agency in Uruguay. Shameful. All a big lie. We llovio, the room at 5 am. Mr Matthew showed very good will. But we changed room for almost two hours. A heavy smell. Hygiene a disaster. Dirt on all sides. Staff not pleasant. Manager Lizz Cock very maleducada. The next day of the flood we left to walk back to the 22 and the room without a fix. When you ask for a solution I responded that since Uruguay pay them 60 days later. The truth we try to put ourselves in order by protesting and getting the whole after discussing. First pay and then responding and evil. The truth that I do not understand how it is enabled. Environment neighboring bar next to deplorable. A disaster. Whatever one requests it has to pay. Very ordinary all employees. Great place to be. I don't think anything of the arrangements. Strange people.

Hotel ideally located close to the sea the rest very basic and mediocre is not worth its price!

Very old hotel, needs to be updated. Only one thing is good about the hotel is it’s location. Bathrooms are so old fashioned. We paid $180/night, I didn’t find it worth. They should focus on cleanliness around. Laundry was under construction when we went. We only need to stay for one night, so we wanted a good location, that’s why we booked it. They should spend some money on renovation.

I’m staying here for a few days and booked based off the pictures. I’m spending $145/night + a $250 room deposit… the entire room isn’t worth $50 so I’m not sure where they got that deposit number from. It smells, it’s really old and worn down. My mirror is cracked, there is mildew all over the bathroom. The hallways smell like you’re in the Bahamas walking down the strip “mall” they set up. I’m really regretting not just spending a few hundred more and staying in luxury. OH, and they also don’t have parking for guests it’s minimum $2-4 HOURLY and you have to renew it every 3 hours. Good luck getting any sleep!

So so bad… do not come, this is the worst hotel I have ever stayed in my life. From the start you received with frustrated employees because they know the hotel is awful. Then you go to your room and the doors are all banged up, the carpet looks as if it has not been cleaned in 10 years, the bathrooms are so bad that it is when you realize you made a mistake in coming to this 3rd world hotel.

Great little hotel with lovely pool area, quieter than many nearby. Superb location. Bathroom terrible however, needs updating. Beds comfortable and super views from the balcony, overlooking the beach which is a 2 minute walk. Easy to walk to Art Deco area/South beach & to Mid beach or Miami beach, along the seafront boardwalk. Stunning beaches.

The pictures posted on the website doesn’t do this place justice. It has been the worst looking hotel that I’ve stayed in. The entrance and their hallways smells weird. The rooms are old and rotting. The toilet looked like it’s breaking. The faucet and shower knobs seemed like if it had mold. We were switched to 2 different rooms because the first one smelled really bad. The second one had a visible air conditioning system and the toilet didn’t stop making noise and running water after flushing. The mattresses are old and dirty. I didn’t bother eating or using their pool because I didn’t trust it. It doesn’t deserve not a single star.

The location is excellent but the hotel is very dirty, with a musty smell, mold on the walls and carpets smelly and receptionists with bad modes and unfriendly…

Bad service, the concierges do not speak Spanish, the staff either, except some petty officers who are cuban or haitian poorly. The cleaning of the common sectors in both lifts as hallways are dirty with material work. The ice machines did not work, and at night there is not control of income nor security allowing female staff "CHAPERONES" to stay in the corridors and thus affecting the security and the bad example for the kids.

Horrible. The owners should not enjoy the profits they make by giving a service that is a fright. The authorities in Miami who enable and allow it to work this dreadful place, are the main responsible. If they believe that they are going to convince someone with lies that are repairing, that is, they treat the tourist like an idiot. What is concrete is that this enabled for the "local" that they have as a neighbor. I would not recommend and avoid, for many years, transit through this area of Miami.

Rooms outdated. Staff OK. Photos are still being uploaded. In the period of our visit construction site around. Pool totally dirty. Broken windows in our room (712), safe available but no lock to close. Air conditioning was a mobile device because the built-in did not work. Positive, compared to other accommodation favorable in the same period (26.12 — 30.12.2017), breakfast OK, adult $12 children $6 + tax. 2 + 2 44USD, location: 1a — perfect. 2min to the Beach.

Wow! For the location, and the age of building, and the clientele it has to put up with… This place gets my 2 thumbs up.! And I. Unlike a lot of the reviews. Always think outside the box… OK. The staff is ultra sweet very nice… The pool is nice. Yes you have to walk today obscure area to get to it. The beach right there. What part of you're in a high traffic area in Very inexpensive hotel. With constant turnover for less than 150nDon't you understand. The beds are so soft. The pillows soft. There are no bugs. No rats. It really is a nice place. Ok. Some of the building is old. But it seems they really do try.! I saw some billion dollar one percenter bought it in auction on the 23td… staff is very worried unemployment line is coming. I strongly suggested this billionaire company keep the happy staff! … People. If you want a $500 a night room. Go shell out the bucks and get one! But this sweet hotel. Needs a good review. For it IS a sweet find. And I definitely would come back again and again! I and we're military! And live at the Jersey Shore! I know all too well how cretins can ruin the local vibe. 5 star hotel in my eyes… 5 stars!

It's service is terrible, the tub sucks the folder smells of damp and the windows all dirty that happens to them. And besides you have to pay parking per hour preferable to pay more for something more beautiful and accessible with parking because they end up paying the same.
The room was a bit of a MOTEL.

The Ubicacio. It's buenisi. A, beachfront with pool. Opposite you have municipal parking. They're renovating it. No Breakfast.

The hotel awesome! Very clean the employees very attentive! Liz was very nice and helped us through out our stayed there! Can’t ask for more! Thanks to to Liz our stay was the best there!

The only good thing was the location, and the bed, the rooms with smell of humidity, little cleanliness, they had no towels to change every day if you put one you would get another, the staff in general bad turn and bad deal. They charge you 18 dollars despite having all paid and do not know how to explain what, if you do cash you retain 20 dollars more, no parking but if for the staff, breakfast is not included 15 dollars and passable. They are renovating and not the floors and therefore the elevators dirty with materials. I think the rating is half star doesn't get to a.

A disaster. The door to the balcony did not close. The light in the bathroom did not work and we had to insist several times until it was fixed. Regular cleaning. It is in remodeling therefore there is a lot of noise and people coming and going. The only good thing is that it has exit to the beach, but still I would not recommend it at all.

Their advertising is very deceptive, you will not get anything the pics show, water tub will not go down after shower, no a/c in halls, just in rooms, staff okay, they would do much better if they would invest time and money.

I give it one Star for its location and a beautiful view, and the staff is very attentive from there on out Nothing of all this to make it new and fumigate this full of cockroaches I do not recommend this hotel until it remodelen and less if you go with children.

This place is a drab. Literally! Customer service for one is horrible (lacking communication with customers), this hotel is like it is not up to code far as someone sleep or just staying one night. Looks like an old run down building that the homeless once used bc they hang out in the lobby and outside of the building. Not joking. Dead ass serious. They need a new management service and some restructuring in here. Only thing they have going is the new television and they are close to the beach. Felt very unsafe.

2 stars only because it is not too far from everything, cheap and nice staff other then that I regret staying here. I felt disgusted sleeping in the room for all my staff. Place is definetly runned down and the bathrooms are even worse. I had a great time in Miami but this hotel affected my vacation in a negative way.

Is the worst hotel I ever been! I rather go to a motel instead. Nothing like the pictures online. It smells nasty the rooms are all moldy and rusty walls. The bathroom tub was rusty and dirty. Their air condition doesn't work and the rugs smelled like pee. I could just tell that nothing was clean. The ice machine didn't work and the pool was dirty it had bugs everywhere. They also try to do fraud on my credit card 4 times different amount and couldn't explain why! I had to cancel my card and I the manager wouldn't show face. This is the shitest hotel! Don't stay there! You'll regret it.

The "WORST" hotel I ever stayed in my life! Literally falling apart. Smelly and dirty hallways. No ethics or customer service at the front desk. No parking! Old furnished. Great location and good pool.

Dirty rooms, power sockets not working or coming off the wall, bathrooms without windows or fan, card readers work poorly, windows not open.

I went to free spirits, it is exactly what I was looking for. Angela, is an excellent bartender, personable and engaging. The food is great as well, I had a burger and it was better than I expected and one of the better burgers I had for a bar burger. I enjoyed this place so much I came back later in the night and got a couple more drinks and some hot wings, which I recommend highly. I have brought an entire bachelor party here and we are all very pleased, it makes for a great destination to relax and get away from the craziness of the beach.

The location is good. The rest of the hotel! For this money or a little more can be found better.

Well first off, do not believe the bad reviews. They are currently renovating the whole hotel and it's coming along great! We had a great stay and the seagull is the best hotel in Miami.

The only thing this hotel has going for it is that is that it's close to the beach. The hotel did feel modern on the outside but like others have said it is dated on the inside. Did not like the fact that they don't have a parking lot and the solutions they have are inconvenient. After bugging them all day to let me know when my room is available I finally got told I can have it after they said I'd receive a phone call. This was the least of my issues here. I got into the room, after having to use both keys because one did not work, to find that it was cramped and dingy. There is an odd odor around the room, hopefully from whatever cleaner they use. Oh wait a minute, they don't clean as I'm afraid to use the shower because the bathroom is disgusting. When I had to leave I found that my key issue wasn't a big deal since the door barely opened and took some work to find a way to open it. I would recommend using your money for a chain hotel, even if it is farther from the beach.

I was in April 2016, Pauley 'policymakers' attention, boys of no more 17 or 18 years who do not know nothing of hospitality and less than solve problems. Violate reservations made and paid, they excuse with infantile drivel, State of sad hotel, 5 nights, 4 had no light in the bathroom and in the dressing room and that came every day to fix it, but a few hours after it failed again. We were 4 adults with 2 beds and a half, in the bathroom had 2 soaps, 2 towels, 2 towels and every day we had that ordered the remaining 2 soaps, 2 towels and bath towels. Rooms at 4 x 6 no windows that are there, all sealed. Air conditioning of the sixties with the team inside the room… were with a train inside the room. They want to know more… go elsewhere.

I liked it. Great view. The room was good and clean. Great air conditioning, clean sheets, good bathroom, etc. The 7th floor, where my room was, was undergoing construction, so that was a little unprofessional. Other than that, it was okay.

I stayed there about a week ago, although they are remodeling doesnt make up for the dirtest of the hotel. To be honest I felt like the only thing clean in the hotel were the sheets and towels. The carpets had a horrible smell, the hallways looked like they have never been vaccummed. The beach view we thought we had was actually a view of a roof with piles of cigarettes on the balcony's below. Every corner of the bathroom was dirty, and parking was a pain. They do not have a designated area for their guest to park, you have to search for parking or park in the garages blocks away and carry everything.

Decent hotel. Right by the beach. Overall; hotel is having renovations being done. More amenities can be added, but decent hotel. Staff service was good. No problems. If your look for a decent fee for a hotel I would recommend it. My wife and I stayed here from March 4 — 7, 2016.

Big room, but was disgusting. Heater was broken in my room, so it stayed 60 degrees in there, the bed was nasty so we had to change our own sheets. Bathroom had hair left over from previous guests… for the money I paid, it was a terrible experience and I won't be doing it again… I spoke with Manger and he didn't do anything at all about my situation. Poor establishment in my opinion.

Smells like urine and you feel completely unclean. This hotel is a prime example of a barn. The lobby will fool you into thinking it is great place. We changed rooms but no matter what it still is nasty. Want to ruin you South Beach vacation then stay here.

This place has a nice lobby but when we got to our room as soon as the elevator door open you can smell a very stinky old wet carpet it's smell so badly. It also smell like marijuana the hallway look very smoky. Our room actually smell like it too. I was scared of inhaling and getting high. It's just filthy Don't stay here if you don't have to. The bathroom is super disgusting, only one elevator is working and they will charge you a daily safe fee even if you don't use it. Find another place a little bit higher price so you won't regret it. They are suppose to remodel this place soon. It's a perfect area it's close to everything. They just need to hurry up and remodel this hotel. P. S. No parking!

We stayed on the second floor and the first thing we noticed was the musty smell as soon as we got off the elevator. The musty smell continued into the first room we went into. The room was old and dirty. We requested another room and was moved one room down. The second room smelled better, but there was a urine smell in the bathroom. We immediately went to the store and bought bleach wipes and cleaned the bathroom. The curtains had holes in them, and the windows were dirty. They used a top sheet instead of a bottom sheet to lay on. I didn't mind that it was old, but it's also dirty. The only thing that is nice is how close it is to the bleach. Save yourself the trouble, spend the extra money and go to a nicer hotel.

The location is great, next to the beach and main streets, friendly staff clean pool, rooms are not the greatest but I think Miami is not very important.

Trashiest, most ghetto, nasty, repulsive place ever. -Walking past it even smelled. -Changed room 3 times. -room 1 smelled so bad, the AC was dripping. To lower temp. We had to call front desk so they could lower it for us. Only 1 remote for the whole building… -room 2. Wall had cracks with tiny bugs crawling out of them. -room 3. Just a horrible environment. Period! -1 elevator that took about 10 minutes just to get you then took even longer on the way down or up, their elevator license wasn't even a license, it said it was just a temporary. Supposed to get it re-inspected of May 2015 (so a few months ago). -They didn't vacuum, they used a broom and a dust pan to clean the carpets -Cracking ceilings and walls -No Iron -No Fridge -No Microwave UNLESS you paid for it -Showers were complete garbage -The pool is just a hole in the ground filled with filth, metaphorically speaking, nobody was in it -Not at all like the pictures -We got there 3 hours early and they put our belongings into what they call a "storage room" it was a room that was filled with filled trash bags, random chairs. It looked like they went garbage picking and threw all of it in the room. The floor had stains all over it. I can't even believe they would bring their guests in there let alone set their luggage on that nasty floor. -Staff couldn't speak English -I Don't think I have ever seen something so disgusting in my whole entire life. I wouldn't even let my cat near this place.

Hotel bad shit we atend all the noise outside (neighbors) AC motor is in the room not sleep with the AC switch on reads one sinks in it if it is 2. It's dirty… rotten animals.

I don't know where to start. This is the worst hotel that I've EVER stayed in. The rooms are disgusting, and the staff is very rude. We had issues with plumbing as well since the day we checked in. On day three of my stay the toilet overflowed and there was water everywhere. Instead of changing our room, they told us to go to the lobby to use the bathroom. When I called downstairs to speak with management they left me on hold because they did not want to put the manager on duty on the phone. When she finally picked up 20 minutes later she was very rude and acted like she could care less about what was going on. Do yourself a favor and don't waste your hard earned money at this crappy place!

Negative things: windows glued, no fridge, one elevator out of order, paid breakfast. positive things: big rooms, the pool.

Worst hotel experience of my life, rooms are filthy, carpets are wet, && the front desk manager Nester try to kick us out because of the complaint we made. Don't waste your time or money, not worth the convince of being by the beach. Other than the worst experience I ever had, Joseph the front desk attendant was friendly && very accommodating. Went above and beyond before his own manager on duty!

The hotel had everything you need, well located. Close to the beach, the swimming pool very good, cute room, the staff very friendly and attentive, we went with my daughter a week great.

This hotel was a bad idea as soon as we pulled up. They make you pay a daily fee for the safe in your room. There is no hotel parking. One elevator worked and it smelled and felt like a recreational center shower. The lock on the door did not work however, it was repaired within 10 minutes. The door from the patio and room door both looked like they had been broken into. In the morning you had to pay for coffee. There are vending machines but they are in the lobby and they are expensive. The hotel is old and not well maintained. Also, walking to the pool is like walking through a jail corridor. The pool… I wouldn't even get in and it felt like 1, 000 degrees outside. Cloudy water and I just didn't trust it. The maintenance man was the best member of the staff. He was efficient and got the job done with the door. Other than that the staff was not helpful and seemed to forget that we were tourists and did not know where anything was located. Where can we get Cuban coffee? "They would point and say that way or down the street… " This hotel was not worth my money or time.

The staff were well trained in hospitality and people management. The hotel facilities could have made the stay pleasant and the staff more outstanding than they were, but this is not the case. This beautiful, historic Miami Beach building, right on the beach, is run down and poorly maintained. The carpet was filthy, the air-conditioner blew room temp air, not cold air which made the room humid and muggy. The window would not open to enjoy the beach breeze, the air-conditioner run-off flooded the balcony, and the balcony needed a paint job — the walls were scuffed and dirty. There was only one elevator working, and only one ice machine that was located in a dark, dirty corner of the 7th floor. The bathroom was adequate, but the grout was dirty and the tiles and outlet covers were broken. This is all a management problem, the staff did their best with what they have. This hotel could be a jewel on the beach, but now in its present condition, it is not a place I would stay at again, nor recommend.

My experience at the Seagull hotel was ehh. The pool was very nice and the beach is right next to the hotel. That being said, there's no free parking which is stupid. You have to go every three hours to put money in the meter or pay $34/day to park in some lot. They make you pay for the safe in the room even if you're not gonna use it. As far as the facility goes it could be a little cleaner, I mean c'mon. The hall ways on every floor reek of STRONG marijuana smell! Oh and you have to pay $10 a day for a fridge lol who does that. This hotel shouldn't be your first choice, this is a last resort hotel.

This was the worst Hotel I have ever stayed at. When we checked in it was so annoying utill we got help from Ashley at the desk. (she was Great). We had problems the whole time from the beds dirty and unkept to the coffee maker not working after we got three sept to the room. Then the Towels and wash Cloths it was like they wanted to keep them them hostage in souskeeping or something beacsue we had to beg and plead for them to give us any. When it came down to cleaning a hosuekeeper with an additude and problem with everything came in after calling three times and 2 1/2 hours later. Just so annoying chargeing your credit card for a safe fee in the room is stupid casue weather we use it or not they still charge you. OH Man! Did I mention the nasty MOLD smell in the room it was so sick. They also called and said we had a party in our room and had vomit all on the floor and had extra ppl staying in the room FYI none was true. Smfh. Even the Front Office MAnager Nester was RUDE as Hell. Hung up on me and I had to come down to speak to him face to face and of course he lied and never call me back with any resolusion to an im sorry. Very Upset guest. Horrible. Do your self a a favor and stay away from the headache. They only get a STAR because of the POOL, ASHLEY (front desk Girl), Gerald (concierge). Sad but True. I want my MONEY Back for staying in the crazy place. And they also tell you that they are renevated they are not.

The worst experience of my life. Do not go to this piece of shit place. The bathroom smells like the back of someones ass. The beds arent a reasonable size. The air conditioning in the room didn't even work it had a mind of its own. The TV had a remote with no batteries. Better off sleeping in your car. You cant check in til 4 the elevators take 3 years to let you on and u gotta pay to park dont come here worst 200 ever spent.

Please, if you have a choice, don't stay here. This is a horrible place, bathroom was filthy and the rooms suck! And you have to know one thing. Parking here doesn't exist, basically the hotel has 3 hour parking and you have to go every three hours to pay.

For the price this hotel for those who don't nitpick little things. From pluses-great location, just a stone's throw from the beach, but on the beach at the hotel no umbrellas and sun beds. Decent pool (although who bathed in the pool of such cracks wonderful Blue Ocean? ), very close to the bus stop. Private comfortable big bed, regular convenience a private bathroom, coffee machine, safe, large dressing room, tv, regularly working air conditioning. You can leave your luggage for free for storage if arrived early check-in. Of the downsides — one working elevator, 2012 in the corridors, the old hotel building. But, again, for this price live at the first line — you can endure. Overall impression is positive, a good budget option.

The staff tries but this is a filthy, nasty, shit hole. Bar next door is a plus. Book somewhere else.

Had to pay for everything, but it is Miami beach. This is a pretty nasty hotel room, if all you need is a bed, that is about what you get. Tub was about the worst I have ever seen, bring shower shoes. TV remote didn't work, difficult locations for 110 receptacles. $2 daily fee for a safe in your room. Main room door didn't close on its own. Short style toilet which the bathroom door opens into. $120 — $130 daily rate is about half the price of everywhere else in town. It is located on the beach and the rooms have a great view. The rumor is this is recently sold and going to have a $3.5M remodel to holiday inn.

THE WORST HOTEL YOU CAN EVER FIND, even the motels were much nicer. The staff working there were HORRIBLE to us, so was the manager. The lift kept breaking down, no parking even though we weren't informed about it. They also robbed the money from our bank account, they took twice the amount we were asked to pay and they were getting cheeky about it, the manager and the staff at the desk are disgraceful worst people ever. DO NOT GIVE THEM YOUR CARD DETAILS! Fire the manager and the staff! and clean the hotel so disappointed, will be taking you to court over robbing the money.

Excellent compliance with the reservation, good facilities, staff attentive and respectful, in middle of the beach, parking parking opposite the hotel a little uncomfortable because it requires coins every 4 hours, beautiful view to the sea, the best ratio cost/service you can get in pesos, insurance will return.

Let me first tell you about the good sides. This hotel location is excellent: almost in the very center of Miami Beach. It's really close to Lincoln rd mall, it is less than a minute walk from the Beach, and it has a decent looking pool. Plus if you are planning to stay in this hotel you won't need a car and save a lot on parking fees — due to the location. And overall quality to price ratio is probably very favorable here — if your budget is tight and if you do not plan to stay in the room all the time, this hotel is probably not such a bad idea. And this is basically the reason I gave this hotel overall good rating. Bad: Although everything was functional in the room, the previous reviewers were absolutely right about the general condition of the hotel. It could certainly use some paint job at least! Door and window frames are in sad condition. I didn't notice my room to be dirty though. About the staff attitude, I wouldn't call it bad, rather indifferent is the right word. Very bad: rooms do not have fridges and microwaves. This is a serious disadvantage. Even worse is the fact that the offer to place fridge in your room for $10 extra/day. Ice machine is broken on one of the 3d floor and the only other one is on the 7th floor. Keep in mind that you have to pay extra per day for mandatory rent of the safe deposit box in your room. Unacceptable: the elevator was indeed very slow and there was only one elevator functioning when we were there.

The reviews are accurate. Not a friendly staff, rooms are big but bathrooms are disgusting. My husband had to clean the bathtub when we got there because there were still footprints in it. He also cleaned the shower head because it had dirt build up. If you are honeymooning in Miami I highly suggest NOT staying here but if you are coming with a large group of friends and don't plan on being in the room a whole lot, this is the place. It is not far from Lincoln Road (walking distance) and there are quite a few nightclubs/bars nearby.

Very good price/value ratio.
