Never go there again I have been going to this hotel everytime I could, but what happened to me is incredible. I had a booking done from the 17th until the 20th. Unfortunately my mother-in-law died on the 16th. I sent an email asking them if I could cancel the booking, (just a question). Six hours later (night in Spain), they answered me with an email cancelling the booking (without even asking me). When I woke up and saw it, I immediately called but they said I had no reservation. My flight was 3 hours later and they said I could call bookings department at 9 am (this was impossible because I was supposed to be on the plane) so they didn’t give us any option because there was no reservation. We had to cancel the whole trip, tickets, PCR (already done) parking tickets (everything was already paid) and of course I had paid for the hotel and they gave me nothing. I called like 50 or 100 times and theres was no answer. When someone picked up the phone, they said they could do nothing and they said to email the booking department. I sent literally 20 emails and there is no answer. This is incredible! And the worst thing is that nobody does anything!

I love this place. We have been to Miami over 100 times and we have stayed everywhere we go back-and-forth between Brickell downtown and South Beach and I really like this place I am going to be very loyal to it from now on.

Rooms are FILTHY, showers have mold, bed had ants and sheets were dirty. We were moved 3 times due to rooms being dirty and sheets being nasty. Unhelpful staff. Housekeeping doesn’t do their jobs.

DO NOT STAY HERE! Very unsafe. My friend and I stayed here in March and had an absolutely terrifying experience. The doors do not have deadbolts and someone broke into our room at 3 AM — the room of two young females. When we called to the front desk for help, the person I spoke with was all too causal and said “That was security checking in on a domestic and they went to the wrong room. ” Absolutely no apology and the “security guard” never knocked or announced his presence, just barged into our room at 3 AM while we were sleeping. I attempted SEVERAL times to reach out to the manager, Hector, (hector. Pachon@southbeachgroup. Com) without any response or explanation. The lack of concern, care, or reimbursement for this horrible and terrifying experience is EXTREMELY concerning. Do not recommend this hotel to ANYONE!

This hotel is TRASH! DO NOT STAY HERE! I really wish I could give negative stars! This hotel seemed like the perfect place based off the photos. The ONLY thing that was good was the location. The lighting is terrible, the hotel looks old and run down, elevators were broke, housekeeping wasn’t available, we had to go back and forth to receive towels that we could only HOPE was available. If the keycard was deactivated because of a cell phone or wallet, you have to go back and forth to get them reactivated. The rooms were dingy and to top it all off, there was MOLD MOLD MOLD MOLD from ceiling to floor in the bathroom! I spoke with the general manager Pachon but all he offered me was food/drink vouchers! They refuse to give a refund and we couldn’t change rooms because they were booked! I have filed a complaint with the Florida health department and with the BBB! This nasty place needs to be SHUT DOWN!

It's one thing for an establishment to have problems occur, that's life. However its another thing to have the owners completely shun you and ignore your problem by refusing to amend their mistakes. This place is a joke and honestly the rooms aren't even that nice for the price. I tried avoiding this poor review but the owners didnt try avoiding me and my wife having a broken toilet so ‍♂️ restaurant wait time for a burrito was 50 minutes. Almost slipped and fell on a wet floor that nobody mopped in the lobby. Toilet was broken, didnt flush and made a monstrous sound when used. Shower didnt get hot on one occasion. Was told we could check out at 1 pm because of issues but we were then hounded by 3 employees in 40 minutes asking when we were leaving.

I found it a very nice hotel, room with large beds and very comfortable, new bathroom with good shower, good service and excellent location very friendly employees, I recommend it!

Matthew, the manager, was Amazing! My friend and I had dinner and stayed at the hotel. During our stay my friend twisted her ankle and Matthew came to our rescue. He called a medic and they took care of her. The hotel was run impeccably, clean and polite. Matthew was kind and compassionate and made my friend feel better. Thank you! We will be back, and we will also be bringing our families and friends. 5 stars.

Everything is bad from front desk to the quality of the room. The room is in an old building in a restaurant next to a karaoke bar. Wow, just imagine how horrible that is!

The service is really poor. People in Miami are extremely rude. This is a case of 5***** location, 2 star service, rooms, and food. Jefrey, the waiter at Maxine’s, was the only bright spot in my experience our first day here.

Stayed here for a few nights and was not impressed at all for the money we paid. The hotel is tired and made to look better with a few basic modern fittings. The only good thing was the large bed and the bar area, where the Colombian bar tender was amazing. The lobby and hallway were very tired, it feels more like a motel, and the bathroom in the room was basic, old and the shower didn’t work properly. The pools were absolutely DISGUSTING, so much so my partner and I actually refused to go in, the pools were also much smaller than they appear in photos. This was extremely disappointing considering when we go to Miami we book a hotel primarily to sunbathe and use the pool. The sun loungers or “beds” on the roof top pool are also a rip off, you have to spend a $30 bar tab to be able to use them. Something we didn’t know when booking and probabaly would have affected our booking decision m. Upon complaining to reception about the dirty pools, the receptionist seemed uninterested and just said “oh really” and then “we can’t help a few leaves falling in to the pool”. I didn’t state about any leaves and I don’t mind leaves being in the pool, it happens. What I do mind is when you can’t actually see the bottom of the pool because it is so filthy and you can see hairs, plasters and other nasty stuff floating around in the other one. The receptionist shrugged and said they were cleaned everyday. Can honestly say this hotel ruined our visit wouldn’t recommended.

If you are looking for somewhere to rest your head while vacationing, book here. The room is especially small. The Ice bucket had no top cover and keep in mind this place has no refrigerator or microwave. The small. Bar in the lobby was comforting. Staff and valet was helpful with suggestions around the area.

I stayed at the Catalina three times. Once in July and twice in August. I enjoyed my stay the first 2 times. The third time I returned the room was infested with ants. I went to the front desk and my room was changed however there were no managers available to speak to me that evening or the morning that I left. I'm hesitant to visit again even though it is a nice, reasonably priced (during the week) hotel.

I have so many great things to say about this hotel. All of the staff were very nice and accommodating since the moment we walked in the door. Jessica set everything up for us so everything went smoothly. Bryant was awesome. He checked us in and out and made the whole process easy and entertaining. The happy hour was a very nice perk. Food at Maxine's was served all night and always delicious. The rooms were updated and clean. The only complaint was that the hotel that we stayed in above Maxine's smelt like mildew. It wasn't a huge deal though, we got over it. I would stay here again and recommend this hotel.

Small rooms. AC wasn’t working and they put a portable AC so room was even smaller. Almost impossible to walk in the room with my baby stroller also in there. Bamboo pool was closed on a Sunday because of a broken glass. Don’t recommend this hotel. The only thing I liked was the rooftop pool.

Do NOT stay at this hotel. There were bugs in the bed, which apparently is a common problem there. They had the audacity to ask us to stay in the room and they'd change the sheets! Absolutely NOT! They gave us the runaround for a couple of hours and then finally moved us to another room after we kept insisting. We asked for a refund for our stay, which they flat out refused but wanted us to accept a dinner voucher as "compensation", which we didn't take. They allowed us a late checkout time which they later tried to say was our compensation for our inconvenience. Totally unacceptable, not clean and very, very poor management. I will not stay there again and will tell everyone I know about my experience. They have no respect for their guests to ask them to lie in a bed with bugs and then to try and not resolve the situation to the customer's satisfaction is very disrespectful to their patrons.

The staff was very courteous but the room wasn’t large enough.

I often stay at the Catalina when I go to Miami Beach. I found the staff to be somewhat helpful, very friendly, and knowledgeable of the city. The rooms were where of decent size bathroom a little smaller then I'm used to. The linen was nicely tucked and clean. The hallways were tight so people with disability will find it a bit difficult to maneuver. The prices are well within my budget. Close to the beach in the middle of all the entertainment. I recommend the Catalina Hotel.

Maxine’s Bistro Bar is 24 & have great Food! Marcos Made Sure I had Nothing but the best food & drinks! The Catalina Hotel Is A Cool spot & right in the middle of everything.

Best Hotel on South Beach! Free Happy Hour! Nice Bar! Friendly Staff! Nice clean rooms! After a long day/night you want to come here, because the beds are so comfortable! The air is great! They have two pools! 1 on the roof top! The other on nice Shady Backyard! A plus for the hot weather, to chill & relax! Hotel Just like pictures! I stayed here 4 times & will continue to stay here every time I come to Miami! Remember people usually only write reviews if they had a bad time! I never had a problem!

This hotel is not set up for individuals with disabilities. There should be some sort of message saying that the beds are practically on the floor. When brought up to Angel, supervisor, he basically had the face that said we don’t care and pay more money to be accommodated. Definitely a hotel for younger people and not for the older crowd. Even the handicapped rooms were practically like regular rooms just with a bar in the bathroom. People who have bone diseases cannot get up off the bed without an assistive device which they lack! Poor construction for those handicapped and poor management for not giving a damn and pushing suites on folks just to get more money (there is only one high bed throughout the hotel). This is by far my worse hotel experience EVER! I’d rather give my money to motel 6!

We passed Catalina on December 31st after noon. In their showcase you could read 'New Year's Eve Party' $ 95 open bar, sushi at will, DJ. Wow! This is where we will spend our evening. We are ironing after our walk and have booked our place. Wonderful evening. Ate well, danced and above all we met lots of extraodinary people. We went back 3 years in lines.

Restaurant with large terrace where musicians perform daily. Varied cuisine and Italian dishes, cocktails. Pool on the roof top.

The hotel rooms are very small 3 people can not move around at the same time. Other than the room size, restaurants were nice and good food. Nice rooftop pool and beach set up. This place is in a very good location for the beach and Lincoln Mall.

The service was awful. As soon as me and my boyfriend walked in, there was a long line from the counter to the door, and we had to wait for at least 30 minutes, maybe more before we were helped. I asked one of the employees at the desk for a lotion, and he looked at me like I asked him to personally carry all of my bags up the stairs to my room. The overall cleanliness, especially the lobby, were not impressive. I've stayed at The W at South Beach previously, and you definitely get what you pay for. After The W, I felt like I was staying in a Motel 6 at The Catalina. I will be staying at The W from now on during my visits. It is true it is half the rate of the W, however, I have been to hotels that are half the rate of The Catalina, and have never had to wait very long, and had much better customer service and cleanliness as well.

It is a hotel located in South Beach (Miami). It is a basic hotel for someone who thinks only to go to sleep and to sanitize.
It has a reasonable price for the facilities it proposes.
Good location for both the centre and the beaches.

I saw a lot of mixed reviews about this hotel and was a little nervous before arriving, but I really enjoyed my stay here! First things first, if you are planning an extended stay or have a larger family this hotel probably isn't for you. There isn't a dresser or anything to store clothes in and the fridge is tiny. But this was not a problem for us. The rooms are beautifully decorated and so is the rest of the hotel. This hotel has an incredibly unique layout, of 3 buildings, and it was really cool getting to explore them all. The rooftop pool was my favorite part, it was so relaxing to lay up there for hours! The bamboo garden and other pool were very nice as well. And Maxine's bistro, the restaurant located right in our building was delicious! Also an added bonus that it is open 24 hours a day and my friends were able to eat tacos at 3 am. Definitely recommend this hotel!

Great location, walking distance to lincoln road mall. Beach is one street over across the boardwalk and lots of places to find affordable breakfast. Happy hour each night! They have 3 buildings together, one with a 24 hour restaurant “Maxine” and a pool with a cool backyard ambiance. Another with a rooftop pool and tanning terrace. Ive stayed here 6 times and it’s always a good experience. The front desk staff and the valet guys/doormen are the best!

They are criminals, they charged us 100 USD of deposit and they never reinstated, also we were swindled cobrandons twice the parking of the car. Beware of those who go, credit cards are liquidated with scams. They're mobsters, don't go to this hotel in Miami.

When I tell you this was the most twilight zone experience I've ever witnessed or experience in my life it's an understatement. These people overbooked the hotel stay we booked months ago and when checking in they sent us an apartment complex of motel rooms… but this was just the start. The level of disrespect from the staff and the manager at the front desk was indescribable and I wish I would've recorded it. The front desk staff by the name of Bryan has absolutely no business interacting with customers. The way in which he spoke to guests, mock guests, challenged guests, demeaned and laughed in guests' faces was appalling… but MOST appalling was the manager Mario who stood right next to him with a smirk on a face and said absolutely nothing despite guests asking him why he was not intervening. It was just a disgusting experience that no one should have to go through when they are simply trying to enjoy a weekend stay. Hope every other guest who went through the fiasco at this hotel files formal complaints.

Nice hotel. Pretty, clean rooms. Super comfy beds. The people at the front desk were kind. The male bar tender was fake nice. The A. M. African parking attendant was rude. Most Everyone at this hotel speaks English. If you get a room by the pool like I did then It's a bit noisy because it's located right next door to Maxine's which is open 24/7 & plays music, don't worry they turn it down after 2am. Happy hour last 1 hour at the bar & beautiful lobby area which consists of Great music & water down-well drinks ONLY even the juice taste like its water'd down but hey it's FREE!

The location is great and easily accessible. The price is a bit much for the look and cleanliness of the hotel. Also, they don't offer room service, even though all three of their restaurants are open 24 hrs. That's pretty basic. The staff is helpful and friendly, especially the managers. Our hair dryer was broken, but the staff provided us another asap. Overall, it's a decent hotel but their prices are too high for the facilities in comparison with other hotels in the same area.

I stayed here in February 2018 for 5 days with my husband. We had such a great time. The pools, happy hour everyday and friendly staff really made it a great experience. There's a live DJ on the weekend and live music other nights of the week. So much fun. Richard at front desk was kind enough to upgrade our room as well. The only downside was an experience with a very rude and unfriendly Polish bartender at the Dorset bar. Otherwise, 5 stars!

For my birthday I booked a stay at the Catalina and beach club I thought using the hotels valet parking would be the safest way to park our car. Unfortunately they gave us the car back at checkout and it was missing 400 dollars. I understand it's not smart to leave stuff behind in the car like done but I want to warn people to not trust this hotels valet better luck with using a parking garage. When we addressed the problem right as we noticed it was missing we had to speak with 4 different employees before speaking to the manager who said he couldn't do anything for me at all. We got in touch with the manager of the valet company and they told us they couldn't do anything for us today because they were closed but they still will not be able to issue a refund. On top of this horrible experience we requested a late checkout which they told us would be 12 pm and the regular checkout time had been 11 am. At 10 am that morning of checkout a cleaning lady walked in on me and my boyfriend. The hotel only provided one lock which could be unlocked by the hotel staff also that just doesn't feel safe to me. On the first night we walked around for 20-30 minutes looking for ice and employees just sent us in circles telling us to ask the front desk, bell boy, and the restaurant next door? we decided to ask valet where ice was and he just pointed and said down the alley between the two hotels.

I was at the Catalina to dine and I must say that leaving out the décor "slightly kitschy" the meat dishes are really very good, the only problem is the appalling slowness of the staff, fast to take the order then you do not know where they go to Hide for a couple of hours. Still recommended to eat well.

If there is no stars because it is MALISIMO, very bad atmosphere, not for family rooms where you can not move one.

This place was GREAT! the staff are professional, the views are great, rooms are small but it's in PRIME location! Note they do not have parking, valet is available for $40 per night. Great prices, wonderful restaurants, located 2 min walk from the beach. I would stay here again.

Too noisy music so loud that it is impossible to sleep for rooms near reception.

The hotel is very nice and nice location but has some aspects that left me dissatisfied as the airport pickup service, I was interested in that option and when we arrived at the hotel we asked if they could take us to the airport and they said if that this Included without any problem and that one day before you have a good time all the data so they are in charge, so we relaxed and one day before our flight we passed the data (our flight left at 8.30HS in the morning) and we were told that it would not be possible because the Servici Or is from the 8hs of the morning, we wanted to die so quickly we went to find out with the time just transfers, at that time we get a notice that we are late flight and we should take the service of them from 8 in the morning, when we tell them they tell us it is from the 9HS. That really got me mad.
Another aspect that they detail is that they include 2 sunbeds, when we arrived and asked that it was no employee had any idea what it was, another thing less. They describe something as a service and then nobody knows what it is.
When it says it includes drinks at night it's not free, we ask and if you include it and it is from 19HS to 20hs a happy hour at the two restaurants next door that are from the same owner. It only includes two or three drinks so we found out in the restaurant. A shame.
That's it, I tell you it's very nice hotel, housekeeping is excellent, but what they detail, often does not match what it is.

Great location, in the heart of everything! Wonderful, helpful staff. Property a bit older with nice size rooms. Restaurants galore. Beach a block away and pool on rooftop.

Super cute. Very well located. Great attention. Economic. What else? I do not put 5 because the bed was somewhat uncomfortable, sleep well, but we are accustomed to other types of beds in 4 star hotels.

The location is good but the rooms and the service of the hotel leave a lot to be desired.

Do not stay here! They gave my bf a key to my room at 230am when he is not on my reservation, didn't ask him for ID, and never called me to confirm. What if this was some random guy off the street!?!?! We moved to 3 different rooms while here because they are all terrible. We were only there 3 nights. They no longer provide loungers or chairs on the beach. Staff does not speak English. And what is that smell through out the entire hotel!?! The elevators smell like beer and feet. The rooms are more for looks and not very realistic to be "living" in. To apologize for my inconvenience they gave me a $50 coupon to use at the 24 hour restaurant downstairs. We never used it because it's all smoking, the music is way too loud, and the service is terrible. There is auto gratuity so they don't even try to be nice or accommodating. I will NEVER go back to this hotel. Viviana at the rooftop pool was the only nice part of this hotel.

Richard upgraded me to a better room so my check in already started off smooth and on the right foot. Valet Manny was amazing and took my luggage for me to get up to my room. This is my second time staying in Miami at this hotel and I travel to Miami quite often. This hotel is pretty cute for the right budget person. Has 3 pools, 24 hr room service, live entertainment every night, happy hour drinks and more! Will be back for sure on my next visit in Miami! Staff was amazing room where clean. Be aware they do charge a resort fee and they have valet parking for a fee. It's in the heart of South Beach so if you don't like the party crowd not the place for you. However staff took excellent care of us. We stayed the night before out cruise.

Bad attention but very good place.

Nice hotel. Rooms are adequate. Daily happy hour was cool. Overall, staff was pleasant. Room key failed to work every night. Seemed to be a pervasive problem. They really should fix that.

Love the Art Deco style and the friendly staff. The room was a bit smaller than expected, but comfortable nonetheless. The rooftop pool, lounge and the connected restaurants made this a standout on Collins Ave. Plus the beach is only a block away.

As far as room size, cleanliness, and location go — this place is great. If you came here to get robbed by management, it's outstanding. I was charged for valet for a day ($50) without ever handing over keys to anyone who worked here. When I confronted them about charging me, they completely made up times and a ticket number saying that they supposedly "parked" my car at a certain time and made up a time they "brought" it back to me. We parked at a garage two blocks away so we could have avoided this fee, but obviously we should've just used the service as we were charged anyway. If this never would have happened I would return, but now I won't. Be careful if you stay here the employees are very sketchy and won't think twice before blaming you for something.

WOW! What can I say? I stayed at The Catalina (Maxine) and I loooooooved it so much! For starters, I must say that they vet their staff to the max because everyone there was super sweet and accommodating from the time I set foot in there to the time I left. This was my first time in Miami Beach and I now want to go there every weekend and stay at the Catalina. The room was very nice and updated. It had a great king size bed. The food (although pricey) was delicious! I absolutely loved the ambience of the place. It was kind of Central American retro with a bit of a North American contemporary feel. They had a minibar with beverages and snacks in the room which was a pleasant surprise. The beach was literally 1 block away so I walked there everyday and it was breathtaking. They even held my items until I returned as I went to the beach one last time before heading to the airport. By the way, they have a free shuttle service to and from the airport (please tip the driver). The only draw back (if any) is that the corridor hallways could use a nice vacuuming as well as the elevator tracks. Also, the place is pretty loud most of the time due to the bar and live music down stairs, but this was no issue for me. I know that I will visit this place again within the coming months. I think I've found my weekend getaway spot. Thanks Catalina for such a memorable birthday weekend! You all have no idea how welcomed I felt and how this experience will stay with me forever.

My friend and I went for 5 days and we we're overall very satisfied with the hotel I would say the best features are the friendly staff, the cleanliness and the location. The thing that bothered me the most was that our room was right above the 24hr resto/bar and it was not sound proof at all so I had trouble sleeping because of the music. The fridge was full of stuff to buy so we had to empty it and put their stuff on the floor to put ours so that was a bit inconvenient but very minor… Also as for minor details the shower was nice and clean but hard to control the temperature and made a loud noise and there are no mirrors in the main part of the room so for two girls in their 20s it was annoying to share the bathroom mirror for good lighting! Also you need to pay to be on the roof top mattresses next to the pool. But honestly none of those were deal breakers we had a good time and the hotel is great for the price!

Avoid, avoid, avoid — after being a loyal customer for over five years, the service has dramatically gone down hill. Not only have policies significantly changed, management isn't truthful on their website. After charging customers a resort fee, guests no longer have free lounge beds at the rooftop pool (have to purchase food/beverages), no longer free chairs on the beach w/discounted umbrella — now you have to CARRY a fold-able lounge chair — — WHO wants to do that on vacation? Happy hour is lame — offered everywhere on the beach… depending on what room they place you in, very small-terrible views, shower makes whistling noises-drives you crazy! Lastly, after my last stay with the hotel losing service for HOURS — NO BACK UP GENERATOR, they did not address any guests on site, did not offer any compensation or amenity — after speaking with the general manager Laura, she had the audacity to think it is acceptable to offer a beverage or food discount or upgrade AFTER I PAY TO RETURN! Terrible customer service — trust me, AVOID!

Nice place to stay. Staff were so polite n very on top of things. You rang n they reply swiftly. Would stay here again. Rooms were clean, a little small but who spends a lot of time in their room in South Beach.

Location is fantastic, can easily get to most places on South Beach within a 10 min walk, bike ride, or car. The rates are cheap compared to other hotels… but you do get what you paid for. Front desk was very slow and NEVER picked up the phone whenever we called the front desk. No one seemed to have the same answer whenever a question was asked, always something different. Most of the front desk people were nice but it was painfully obvious they took their time with everything. We waited for almost 2 hrs for ice after we asked and sent the ice bucket to the front desk. The only time something was done immediately was when the manager got on to them after he happened to be there and saw what was going on. The rooms look a lot smaller than what the picture shows, but not bad if you are there for a couple days. Cleaning service comes either very early in the day or during the evening. Our service came 5pm one day and only handed us towels, but again they were very nice.

We had an amazing time staying there! The front desk checked us into a room that was kind of gross and then they moved us right away when we asked and gave us a nice room. The restaurant Maxine's its horrible! The only good part about it was the bar being right downstairs. It was clean and comfortable and the perfect atmosphere for south beach! Thank you for providing a nice and comfortable stay! We will most definitely be back the valet option was nice, we used uber and lyft to get around it was very affordable! (Be aware this is a younger crowd type place)

You get what you pay for. A good hotel right in south beach. The rooms are a bit outdated and there is some tear and wear here and there but nothing that was a deal breaker. The pool in the roof is nice. Bed was super comfortable, the restaurant had awesome food at fair prices. I'm most likely staying here again in January. Not the best hotel out there, but definitely good value for your money specially with the added perks like the complimentary airport shuttle and happy hour.

Hotel average. The bedding is terrible, after three days there, my companion and I even left with a big back pain. The bathroom was not airy, the shower was leaking and there was water everywhere. The pools are very poorly maintained, and the breakfast in the restaurant offered is average. The positive points are the location and the reception of the staff. You can find better in Miami Beach.

Nice hotel close to Miami Beach. Staff Includes shuttle service to and from airport. The rooms are very bright. Private pool without infamy and without praise.

Hotel with a strategic location.

Very nice hotel, possessing 2 swimming pools, 3 bars and restaurants with different themes. Access to the sea in less than five minutes on foot.
It is also possible to book all kinds of activities at the start of the hotel.
Free shuttle went back from the airport.

Stayed here the last week of February and my experience was amazing! Nice clean modern rooms and a fantastic staff! Location location location — right in the heart of Miami Beach — only a block away from the ocean! Stay Monday through Thursday for the best rates! Will definitely be back! A+++

My girlfriend and I found a bug on the bed of our room. We called the front desk and the immediately gave us a new upgraded room. The room service was incredibly accommodating. Also, the rooftop pool and lounge area is a great place to spend the afternoon. Then make it downstairs for happy hour. I will be back.

Unique place with a perfect location. Room was… Interesting. Windows faced brick walls and other rooms but it was pretty big and pretty comfortable. 2 min walk to ocean drive or beach. Restaurants open 24/7 so that was nice (no room service though, couldn't be lazy)

I have stayed at the Catalina 5 times now. I love the location and it is cheap… This time it was a bad experience to say the least. It was constantly loud and the hall ways smelled like weed the whole weekend. Upon checking in, I put down deposit as they would not accept the card I booked the room with. I came back from an event around 4 am Saturday morning. The key to my lock was not working so the gentleman had to let me in. Upon asking me my room he said I had to check out this morning (in 6 hours), when I had made the room for two nights. I was quite frustrated I had to wake up in a few hours to check out than back in again for the second night. I went to do this — even though mad, and he said I had to put another deposit down as the one I had put down was used for valet. I can not believe I was being punished for A clear hotel mistake. After refusing to put a second deposit down I was ready to go home — on no sleep. The manager said he would take away the mini bar instead of a deposit, Given, I am still being punished for their mistake? I was clearly, mad and wanted my money back. I went back to my room to figure out what I should do-ruin my vacation or just suck it up and enjoy my non sleep and smelly room. At this point the concierge Juan Jose came to my room and apologized. He was amazing and talked me out of my frustration. He is clearly the only good thing that this hotel has going for them. I stayed for the remainder of the time, thanks to him.

Although the room was okay (besides the weird smell and small space) I had THE WORST experience here because when I received my car back from the valet parking guys I smelled smoke but didn't think anything of it because there were lots of people outside and I didn't know rather or not someone had been smoking in the area. So I go to return my rental car to hertz and I'm informed that they also smelled smoke and saw ashes and that I would be charged $175 for a cleaning fee. I immediately contacted the manager at the hotel because I do not smoke and never have. He gave me the number to the manager (Jose) of the valet service. I contacted Jose and he said he would do an investigation and to call him back. So I did call back the next day and he says that he didn't see anyone smoking in my car and the valet driver said he didn't smoke in the car. I have never smoked in my life but someone the one time I have valet park my car it's returned with cigarette smoke and then I'm left to pay the fee. The hotel manager and Jose clearly don't care about their customers. All hotel management kept saying is they are a separate company but they hired this valet service so they need to know who they are employing especially if they are doing things they aren't supposed to do. I asked for my $35 parking fee back and was denied. I will NEVER stay at this hotel again. If you do stay here PLEASE inspect your car before you leave and make sure everything is good.

Horrible experience. Accidentally left some clothing and could not recover it. TV fell off wall during sleep, when I informed the front desk at 3:00am, all they cared about was if TV was okay. Valet overcharged. Food overpriced and only okay. Rooms not cleaned timely. 0 stars.

The bar was where I visited. They have a good selection of drinks. Very spacious place and feels well warm. I return to return very soon.

Beautiful stylish hotel In a great location. Rooms were very clean & resort fee was totally worth it, including a free happy hr & beach chairs/towels.

Free happy hour 7-8 pm, on Rum, gin, vodka drinks. The bartender poured a very plentiful amount of rum, in all our drinks. Very impressive. The people watching from the sidewalk tables and therd is a second floor lobby to people watch also, makes this a great location. The Christmas music was perfect. .

Hotel was great. Checked in late with no problem. Rooftop bartender made great mojitos. Rooms where nice, a king bed would have been better then two doubles. Beds were very comfortable though. Housekeeping was nice and didnt bother us at all. Valet guys were great, could help with anything. Liked how we had our luggage stored at checkout so we could still enjoy the pool for a few. Only negative was the red bar couldnt make half the drinks on their menu, and I was told the rooftop bar was closed today so we left early (12/15). Overall it was great, and will be back soon.

If you want to be close to the strip (Oceans Dr. ), shop on Lincoln, and be walking distance from the beach. Stay here! Best hotel on Collins. Food is great. Rooms are perfect. Two pools. Rooftop and lagoon so you have options. This is the ONLY hotel I've stayed at in Miami for the last 5 years.

Nice rooms. Pretty decor, a large screen tv, nice and comfortable tempur-pedic bed. Mini fridge stocked with food and drinks but at a charge of course. Hallway and stairwell had a very strange smell. Staff was nice. Would stay again. Only downfall was the smell and walls are thin.

Room was very clean. Reno at the front desk was awesome and so accommodating. Eddie was very helpful with our bags. I have no complaints would definitely stay here again.

We needed a room last minute, we saw a room online there for 109/ night. Was really skeptical to say the least. When we got there the clerk asked my wife what brought us to miami, she told him it was our first vacation without kids, he upgraded ou room to an awesome luxury room! The hotel was really nice with a real miami feel to it, location was also nice, right across the street from the beach. Would definitely recommend this hotel to anyone.

I'm staying here now and let me just say I was a bit skeptical because of the reviews, but so far the noise level was 0 to none, the room looks just like the pictures, the service was slow checking in and the guys kept watching this girl sing karaoke, but in all I would definitely recommend saying here. I believe we are in building D with the sushi restaurant downstairs, so maybe the bad reviews are from one of the other buildings. The location is literally on the beach. Its a 4 minute walk if that, and there is great breakfast joints every other block. All of this for such a small cost! Our flight and 5 night stay was only about 550 a piece including a Key West trip on Orbitz. You can't get this in Dallas!

1. The room was very small even after upgrading once we got there, small TV up high in a corner, lighting was awful, and the air-conditioning was broken. 2. We had to repeatedly ask for more towels because they would keep forgetting to bring us some (same thing with everything else / never did get ice) 3. It was LOUD. I got woken up at 3am by girls screaming in the hall running away from a guy who then continued to bang on there door for I don't know how long. Do not stay here. My stay here doesn't even deserve a 1 star rating. The only good thing about it was it was closest to the convention center. My stay there was awful I would NEVER recommend this place to anyone ever. Not worth the $600 for 3 nights if I knew it was gonna be that bad I would have stayed somewhere else I would have preferred to walk a lot longer distance (in cosplay) to the convention in the middle of summer than stay there and not get any sleep and have a shorter distance to walk.

The hotel is best suited for 18 year old Spring Breakers. The rooms are college dorms with a lot of patch work and desperate need of cosmetic upgrades. The amenities are fully stocked as claimed on the inventory list so watch out for those hidden fees! The bathrooms are like jail showers. Very seedy. The pool was filthy. This property looks NOTHING like the web photos! Buyer beware!

We ate delicious pizzas, I recommend the 4 cheeses. Very good Pina Colada.

First off, the front desk clerks were rude, and not at all helpful when I was checking in. (I got to the hotel at 2:30, didn't get into my room until well after 6. Probably the worst customer service I've experienced at any hotel. The lobby was about half the size the pictures on the internet would have you believe, and the carpet smelled of mildew. My room was right next to the fire exit, which they kept unlocked and open All night (not exactly safe) and there was no latch on the door so housekeeping or whoever could barge into my room at anytime they pleased. My room was INFESTED with small gnats (that's just gross, I went out of my way just to not spend time in my room because I was so disgusted) and one of my wash cloths had a blood streak straight down the middle. If you value hospitality and at least half-way decent customer service, you'll avoid this hotel like a plague.

Hotel was very unprofessional. And thet master night time manager said upon my arrival that my room was paid with a mastercard (ive never owned a mastercard in my life) I paid with a visa and that I would have to pay the whole amount of my stay over again since I didnt have tha card with me (they know what theyre doing) (scamming). SO I PAID CASH $465 For 2 Nights. (i had no choice). And on top of that me and my fiance were offered drugs repeatedly by staff members! the catalina ruined my miami experience.

Where do I begin? This was the WORST hotel stay! My husband and I checked in with Aaron, he was totally awesome and the best part of the entire experience. We headed to our room, we loved the decor. When I went to use the restroom, there was urine on the seat. We later went to bed and when we pulled the sheets back, there was dried BLOOD in multiple places on the sheets. The blood soaked through the flat sheet, to the fitted sheet, to the mattress pad and through the mattress! We quickly went to the front desk, where there were to men having a personal conversation. Apparently, the conversation was too good for them to stop, acknowledge us and see what our needs were. I had to interrupt them to get their attention. When they finally acknowledged us, the worked told us that he would move us to another room. Never really empathizing with us. He moved us to another room. I immediately check the bedding in that room only to find hair all over the sheets. Exhausted, I slept in a chair that night. Refusing to lay in a dirty bed! We got up the next morning as spoke to the "manager" Winston. He was very uninterested in us and our issue. He told us that it "wasn't a big deal" and that it was probably just "red paint"! If it was red paint, why are you making beds with paint on the sheets? It was NOT red paint, it was red, dried blood! He offered us a room for another night for $320, no thanks. Winston is a poor excuse for a manager and does not represent excellence whatsoever!

To Whom This May Concern I was a guest at this hotel this past weekend 21 March check in and 22March check. I velet my car which I paid $35 and when I received my car back from the velet it has been damaged! Someone backed my car up into the red pole right in front of the hotel! And the red paint is on my car to prove it!   I saw the exact same almost happening to another guests car right before I received mine. I hope as a respectful manager you will address this mater as soon as possible otherwise you will be hearing from my lawyer I will go to extended lengths to get this solved!.   This is unexceptable and will make sure everyone knows this hotel is terrible I won't hasitate to even publish this in my newspaper company! And I noticed cameras in the front of the hotel so please feel free to look at those if you don't trust me. This is rediculious and no guest should experience this. Trusting you're team, you're hotel to take the responsibility for this! Or we can Handel this another way.   I'll be waiting for you're response you have 24 hours to get this fixed. Does not deserve a star but I had to put something to let you all know to NOT GO THERE! Rude workers, extremely expensive drinks and food, and rooms are dark (doesn't look like the pictures posted). With it being a high class city, you would think this place would be up to part with the city but it was absolutely the worst experience ever which ruined the thought about ever going back to Miami. It gets worst on top of all, worker Leon at the front desk should not be working the front desk if he is suppose to be the face and voice of the place unless they feel the place is unpleasant and horribly treats their guests. I called the place because I left my charger in the room, he tells me to call back and try to explain the cleaning process then I have to send a fedex there to get my charger back so they can fedex it back. Following, I asked to speak to a supervisor he places me on hold then hangs up. I called back for a supervisor again and he puts me on hold then tells me no supervisor was in that they all come in at 11am. On top of that, he tells me that he didn't believe me before and trust me now. I gave my name and number for a confirmation. This was not worth it. In addition, my friend booked this place but after reading the responses of the reviews from the owner. I don't feel there was any meaningful effort as most of the complaints were consistent with the same disrepectful behavior. I won't be surprised if this treatment continues after my review.

Here was my stay in the journey of the groom, the site we charm and the treatment was very good, close walking distance to everything, the beds with duvet, red and red lights seemed to us a bit. But you move walk very well of all the sites, the only downside was that a note drunk I walk into our room with a key in his underwear, but otherwise very good and with a very good swimming pool on the rooftop and down, we loved Miami.

Bed is not the best, walls are crazy thin, could hear all the conversations your neighbors are having. Lobby and halls smell like fish. If you can get over that its a decent place for the money. If I came back id explore other places. Staff friendly and happy hour is great.

We got placed in the Maxine building in a room extremely close to the bar. I think our room door was closer than the bathrooms. First impressions the room is older and could use a facelift. It was quite dark overall lighting was dim. The room also had smell of a dirty air conditioner. The bathroom sink had a very poor flow coming out of the faucet that sprayed everywhere. The shower had sulpher smell coming from it and it would not drain. After complaining about this to the front desk and asking for a room change they advised they were unable to accommodate. We moved hotels the next day and they charged us an additional day for early cancelation. Absolutely no service at all. I wouldn't recommend this place. There are a lot of other options in the area.

Upon arrival our reservations didn't exist. After showing a confirmation email with reservation number and credit card we waited 25 minutes to fix the debacle. Our room had no hot water (warm at greatest). Phone didn't work. DJ music from the front lobby played till 1100ish so plan to stay up at least till then. We were credited the resort fee of $15.00 that were still trying to resolve with accounting. Overall there is much better choices in Miami. We feel this room was only worth $79 at best. We payed $161.

Traveled to Miami for a show at the Jackie Gleeson theater which was a block away from the Catalina. Upon arrival we were given a free upgrade to their biggest room. The rooms were extremely clean with very intimate lighting, along with great decor. I walked into the room and immediately synced my phone to their stereo via Bluetooth as we unpacked. The next day we went to visit the beach which is immediately across the street and we were given free beach chairs. To keep things short, the hotel was one of my favorites and I will definitely be coming back as soon as I can.

Good but construction noise was annoying at 11 in the morning. Staff were more than Nice.

What a wonderful experience.! One of, if not the best stays I've ever had while in Miami. This hotel is underrated. In addition to the free amenities, friendly atmosphere, and quality customer service, this hotel bar none should be considered a 4 star. The location was a plus and the food at Maxine's bistro was great! I love the way the lobby is set up with board games promoting interaction with others. I met a few interesting people. I will be back soon. The Catalina hotel ROCKS.
