Nice and quiet location right on a beautiful stretch of beach. The office staff were very helpful, courteous & friendly. The queen oceanfront rooms are simple but clean and comfortable with amazing views. We would have loved for there to be a small onsite coffee shop or bar onsite. But even still we would stay here again for sure and recommend Barefoot Beach Club to friends. In fact there were many people that we met here that were repeat guests.

I thought this condo was fabulous. It had a great balcony view of the ocean and pool area as well as a beautiful view of the bay from the other side. The rooftop is nice as well. I see a lot of reviews about no housekeeping, it’s a condo not a hotel room. You’re provided everything to clean up after your dang self. Also a washer and dryer and full kitchen with tons of towels. You can leave a basket of towels out when you need more or if you do and the front desk is fabulous and will give you anything you need. John’s pass is a block away and has live music, tons of shopping, restaurants and excursions like jet skis and parasailing. There is a trolley that stops right next to the barefoot as well. For $5 a day you can ride it all the way to Clearwater beach and many other places. Super fun place! Absolutely gorgeous.

Everything was nice and great location but wouldnt stay here again because of the night security guard this is a none smoking place our first night there we are sitting on the balcony talking and the guard shines a light in our face to ask if we are smoking we said no and please dont shine a light in our face and he just said he will catch who is smoking it wasnt us and I dont expect to have a light shined in our eyes when we are on vacation relaxing on our own  balcony alot of people we interacted with staying at a hotel had the same complaints about the guard your job is a security guard is for our security and the security of the hotel not to be rude shine light up to peoples  balcony’s very disappointed.

Beautiful view of the beach while we ate dinner! Sasha was the sweetest waitress! Sasha was patient with my daughters new service dog-who was a little hot & rambunctious from all the people. Sasha was the best & the atmosphere & food were good! We would recommend to everyone to come try it!
(The gator bites & deep fried pickles were the best my son said! )

Barefoot Beach Club is incredible. Friendly staff, clean and spacious rooms, thoughtful amenities, amazing views, pristine beach, fantastic pool and hot tub and WONDERFUL location. This place is a hidden gem. Would stay here again in a heartbeat.

This is a very nice place to stay. They were extremely accommodating with the basket service. Everything we requested was put into our basket each day. (towels, coffee, paper towels, toilet paper, soap). The grounds are clean and well landscaped. The pool area is very pretty. I would and have already recommended Barefoot Beach Club to my friends and family. We are definitely coming back here.

This is our second time here in the past year or so. It’s in a great area close to good dining options. John’s Pass Boardwalk is within walking distance. The suites are very spacious and clean/updated. Beautiful beach behind the resort.

Incredible stay in March! We arrived just prior to COVID and the staff was incredible about making sure we were taken care of the entire time we were there. Wonderful location, clean, and beautiful views of the beach! Will definitely stay again!

Treat People and staff as part of the team. No one does team work so a-lot of stress and He does not care at all.

Have been to Barefoot beach club twice… the first time the front building was under construction, however that did not impact my stay in the least… second time construction was complete… very nice building and rooms… easy access to the beach and shopping at John's Pass boardwalk… will def be staying there in the future…

Pros: beautiful view, convenient location, nice pool, basket towel exchange, clean rooms, music playing outside Cons: Small bed, uncomfortable furniture, rooftop area not open as anticipated, construction sounds.

My husband and I had a great time at Barefoot! Beautiful view of the beach from our room. Pool was nice and the beach was beautiful. Everything was so convenient. Wish we could have stayed longer!

Wish they had complimentary breakfast, I love the basket idea. Rooms are ok. The beds could be more comfy, pool area is nice. Towels are limited and go fast. Our room was near the elevator and very noisy u could hear the elevator motor all the time when in motion. Watching TV from the bed is a challenge you can't see the TV from where the beds are located. Might want to think about switching the room around. Close to johns pass and area restaurants so that's a plus. For the price per night the Amenities are few but over all the hotel is ok.

Loved our stay this past week! Love the basket… also loved seeing the AC filters being cleaned. Room was clean, hotel was clean.

We held our family reunions here we are approximately 35 people the place is wonderful there just isn't any place to eat there so you have to be careful where you go but the units are Immaculate the beach was beautiful the pool was Stellar thank you barefoot Beach that wonderful family reunions.

Really wished I had a better review of this place. Bathroom was moldy, the hotel staff didn’t seem to care that kids were just running around screaming the entire time and playing hide & seek throughout the hotel floors. The pool area was trashed every morning, which honestly should be cleaned up BEFORE guests wake up. Towels should also be provided for the pool & beach. Just not a good experience at all.

My husband and I stayed here this past weekend and we stayed in room 31 the brand new 2/2 let me just say the rooms was amazing and the view was even better. I would recommend this hotel to anyone! It’s all up to date and large rooms! We can’t wait until the roof top bar is open. See you guys soon. Pics posted in comments.

I recently stayed at this hotel and it definitely was not what I expected. Based on the photos they have posted I thought I would be able to enjoy my short vacation however, when I got to my room I didn't enjoy sleeping, eating, or showering in the room. When it came time to shower, I got burnt by the water because the cold/hot water is not labeled so I wasn't aware of which way to adjust the temperature. Also, the drain was clogged and took a long time to go down after each person. Then when it was time to order food we had to have it delivered through UberEats because it was raining and lighting outside. The location of the hotel is very inconveniencing because there is building under construction right in front of it which makes it hard to find. Then maneuvering down the narrow road ways is another issue. Lastly, when I was trying to rest from my long day I found myself itching because of bed bugs or something that wasn't suppose to be in the bed. Overall, I would not go back to this hotel and I do not recommend anyone else going there. It was annoying, frustrating, and made me want to end my trip early. Never again.

Room was amazing. Two separate rooms plus kitchen and bathroom. We had a lovely little balcony looking over the pool. Exceptionally clean. Ive machine on site. The hotel is literally a step onto the beach which is great. Small walk from resteraunts and shops. The staff were super friendly and went the extra mile to help us with car troubles.

Loved staying here with my family. Getting up on a morning and being able to go to the beach to watch the dolphins was awesome. The pool area is lovely and towels supplied fir whole of your stay in the room. And for pool and beach. Supplies of coffee soap and toilet paper and more are supplied and rooms are adequate for the stay only bad thing is I thought the beds were too hard but that's a preference thing I guess. Lots of nice places to eat and st John's pass is lovely especially on an evening for food and entertainment.

Absolutely amazing. The room was huge and very clean. The staff members were so polite. They found out we were there for mine and my husbands 5 year anniversary and they gave us a bottle of wine as an anniversary present. The hotel is right on the beach, and has a pool, Kiddie pool, and jacuzzi. We will definitely be going back!

Best place we've stayed in a while. Quaint, pleasant staff, very helpful, clean and well organized rooms. Great pool and ocean is only a few yards away. Hot tub as well. Great family restaurant's walking distance. Mini fridge, nice clean grills at your disposal. Overall Great place.

Nice location, very nice pool. The old rooms that we stayed in were lacking phones and sufficient lighting for night time but we're nicely decorated. Small wall crawling bugs in the main kitchen entrance area of our room on the walls and sink, it was mentioned to the staff but bugs still persisted throughout our stay. Owners need to enforce pool rules, made it difficult to enjoy the pool area due to parents not paying attention to undisciplined kids jumping off structures on to other guests during and well after pool hours.

Parking is poor so be prepared. I did get underground parking but it was a tight spot and could only back in. Beachfront room was a must and glad I did it we saw dolphins daily and beautiful sunsets. Needed extra coffee and put my little card in the basket and it came next morning. Loved our stay only downfall was the highly intoxicated people everywhere. Saturday night they were skinny dipping in the hot tub as my husband moved his car for the fourth time since one car per room. I am sure the view was bad :0 as he described the girls all highly intoxicated. Get the beach front room never heard the construction. Took my humidifer to make white noise since Sat night appeared to be alot of noise but never heard it thank god. Overall great stay it is close to all restaurants we ate at the THAI place across the street for my birthday Lisa's cafe for Sunday Brunch also across the street. Both amazing food! We will be back prob not for the new rooms since they are not ocean front so hopefully they are remodeling the old barefoot as well.

It has been a few years since we have stayed here. The pool renovations are absolutely amazing! It felt like we were at a luxurious resort! The new building is going to be spectacular!

Wonderful time. Rooms were clean. Close to John's Pass. There is construction in front of hotal but my room was ocean front so was not a problem. Pool area is new. Beautiful beach. Would definitely stay again.

Liked the room and location. They are building a new building of rooms so you may have a lot of construction noise that wakes you up. If this will bother you I would call to get the details on when workers and equipment will be operating.

The location is perfect. Right on the beach and John's Pass is within walking distance. The couch was very uncomfortable and the bed was the worst I have ever slept on. It was like sleeping on the floor. I went to Wal-Mart to get a foam pad so I could sleep. You know when your neighbors are taking a shower. The noise of water running in the pipes is hard to miss. You can hear everything your neighbors are doing. I mean everything.

Rooms are nice, but your best experience will be to get a beach facing unit. All the others are just a room for the night. Floors are tile (it's on a beach). Could use some touch ups in the bathroom. Can't watch TV from the bed because there is a floor to ceiling pole in the way. Beach access is steps away, and is a nice beach. There is currently a new hotel being built behind this place (dec/2017). Construction hours are 7:30am to 9:30pm, which is utterly ridiculous.

Beach zone is very nice. Good location but actual property is very old. Rooms are like studio apartments with semi-clean conditions. Almost like Key West motel. Check in was fine and would recommend to “couples” at a discounted price. Very tiny double size hard bed.

We have stayed here on 3 separate occasions. Most recently was last week and we love it. I suggest taking a room on the 3rd or 4th floor just for a bit more privacy (we like to keep the door open at night to hear the ocean & enjoy the breeze). The staff are always courteous and helpful. There is some construction going on right now but it was never an issue and they stop working around 5pm.

Great people, great hotel. My daughter & I flew into Tampa & our plans crumbled beneath our feet practically upon landing. Heath at Barefoot Beach worked with Lisa from Lisa’s Cafe to accommodate us. We got the last room available at a discounted price. Heath & other office staff were so warm & welcoming! We were allowed a late check out & to use hotel beach towels into the afternoon. I really can’t say enough great things about these people & how they took care of us in such a time of need. Our stay in St Pete was amazing. Thank you, Heath, for your generous hospitality!

Service and room were lovely. They are adding on to the hotel so there was construction and noise early that woke us up but we knew this was happening so we we're prepared. Great location near restaurants and shopping. We parked for our stay and then didn't have to drive anywhere. Can't wait to go back and stay longer.

Very nice rooms. Very accommodating! We had a room out front, but construction started at 6:30am. They gladly moved us to a room that didn't hear as much of the construction. We now have a ocean view at no extra cost!

This place is great! Right on the beach! Rooms are very quaint. Had a small issue, we arrived after office hours and we were supposed to have a 2 bedroom room and we were left a key for a 1 bedroom room. Called Aaron, I assume the owner, and he got us a 2 bedroom room super fast! We were so happy! We are going to make this our "Madeira beach place to stay"!

Great place for a pretty good price. I love this area and frequent it a lot! The staff area excellent and really care for customers. Also the manager Aaron really does care for those staying at his hotels. I have a lot of respect for Aaron.

This hotel was awesome… beautiful rooms. Scenery was beautiful… we drove 6 hours and were going to be late… no problem. Our key cards were in a box waiting for us when we arrived… definitely returning soon… beach was extra clean …

The room was decent besides the fact you could not see the T. V. While laying in bed (placement of TV was in the living room area ans a wall blocking it). The worst was the smell of cigarettes through the vents and the construction was ridiculous, they advertise a bar there is none. We were told to go to John's Pass, cabanas were not included. The only thing nice was walking distance from johns pass. But would have liked an onsite food/bar or beach access to another one.

Our favorite part is that it's right on the beach. Fair price for beachfront room with Wi-Fi and parking included. Very friendly staff. Eco-friendly (towels are changed daily but no room service). Has a very good restaurant (Lisa's Cafe) that serves breakfast, lunch and dinner, located across the street within walking distance. No stove in kitchenette. Hotel needs another elevator and to repair quarter machine in laundry room.

Beach front queen studio: Room was fine. It had nice amenities like a mini fridge and dishes. Bed was not very comfortable. View was great and beach was very nice. We didn't get much info when checking in, so we didn't figure out until later that housekeeping doesn't come clean your room at all during your stay. Beach towels were a big pain in the neck. They were out and when we asked the lady told us to wait an hour and check back, without offering any solutions or assistance for the meantime. She blamed the other occupants for using too many. When checking back, there were only about 20 clean ones available. Next day they were out again.

Terrible beds, no acess to vending machines, snack machines, No restaurant or room service, or bar. No water in room. No breakfast offered. Must leave the hotel to get anything such as snacks, water, alcohol, and food, no accommodation for more than a day stay. You stayed here for vacation, you would have to bring the grocery store… would not stay here ever again, even if it's right on the beach.

Great little getaway spot on the water and near the boardwalk, shopping, local eats & food, watersports & activities. Affordable rates for the area.

This past weekend we stayed as guests at the Barefoot Beach Hotel on Madeira Beach near John's Pass. The Barefoot Beach Hotel exceeded our expectations. This hidden gem is a local small business, upon our early arrival we were able to check in, park, and enjoy the beach. The front desk offered us beach towels, koozies and a cooler at no charge. Within an hour of checking in early our room was ready.

King bed with a pullout couch and TV. Bathroom and shower were small but not bad. Stair only access to the beach. Pool with hammocks and a grill. Very nice overall.

POSTED BY RENEE MATHES: Stayed for three nights at the end of April. We were in a gulf-view room (I think room 312) on the third floor. It was AWESOME! It was a corner room with the stairs right outside our door. So convenient and great for a little exercise. The pool-area entrance was at the bottom of the stairs and we were able to park our car in a spot near it which made running to the car a quick trip (Parking is located on the ground floor so the hotel rooms actually start on the second floor). View from the room was beautiful and the balcony was very nice to have (unfortunately, hot air from the a/c unit did blow on the person sitting on the chair in front of it, so instead I just hung wet bathing suits on that chair and they dried much faster than just over the railing! Lemonade from lemons…). There were a few rough patches here and there but, honestly, I chalked it up to being located so close to the salty sea air. The pool was fabulous and my kids loved the two hammocks in that area. My husband liked sitting at the tables in the shade of the umbrellas. The laundry room was over by the elevator which was just a short walk down the outdoor hallway. Had a TV and seating in the air conditioned laundry room. Washers and dryers worked well and seemed well cared for. Beach access was simple and had water faucets at the edge of the beach so the sand could be washed off of feet instead of being dragged into the room. Beautiful sunsets!

Nice hotel/motel, right on the beach. Small pool, but who needs a large pool right on the beach?
Room for American relations small but sufficient, and with a small kitchenette for self-sufficiency, and ok.
Towel change (+ bedding, toiletries, etc. ) works over a basket of laundry the morning before the door is.
There is no typical daily room cleaning. For us super, da us so neither at inappropriate times drove out of the room. Broom to the sweep through exists. Also was us at check in offered, that we can tell if — and when — we wish you a cleaning.
Johns pass (restaurants and tourist shopping) is walking distance.

This place is a total ripoff. Where do I begin. First off we got stuck in a pool view room (thank you spring break) which is a view of cars and a ghetto crappy tiny pool with no hot tub or pool bar. Website claims it's heated but it was ICE cold at 4pm. I arrive at the room and the first thing I see is a laundry basket on my bed. As a mother of 3 that is the LAST thing I wanted to be greeted with to start my mini vacation. Then I go in the bathroom and see the really awful cheap products left for me. Not only that but there's NO conditioner at all only shampoo. I asked Heath in the office for conditioner and he replies they don't have any. I'm sorry but who the heck doesn't use conditioner and especially at the beach! My thought was for the $300 a night for this dump you better go to the dang store and get me the dang conditioner! The room is old and decorations ugly. If you like watching TV in bed well you can forget that because it's a crappy tiny TV you need glasses to see mounted on the wall as far away from the bed as possible in the lil dining area. The lamps on each side of the bed are crappy desk lamps that blind you. Honestly even if this was a gulf view room it would NEVER be worth what they charge. I feel totally robbed and so sorry for my husband. Do yourself a favor and plan ahead and stay at The Bilmar. It's cheaper, nicer, and actually has a restaurant/bar, room service, decent toiletry products. At Barefoot you will be very very disappointed.

The staff is very, very rude and the service varies by your culture. If you're not one of them, then expect nothing but attitude and disrespect from the minute you walk in.

Room is average, rate is high, front desk all business. My wife like the beach access. Won't stay here again, I'm guessing there are other places for the money.

Rooms are great! We split 2 rooms between family and loved that they opened up to each other. Great beach access and close to all the shops and restaurants at John's Pass.
