I've stayed at a lot better! Not my idea of a resort. Pool tiny with literally no seating. Every chair and lounge chair taken due to huge amount of rooms compared to very small pool. Pool looked cloudy because so many in pool and didn't see any area to get a pool towel. Very limited amount of umbrellas also around pool. I like to sit poolside and read, no chance of that happening : (Beach is a very long walk too. Hotel could use some updates. Staff friendly however and helpful.

Great place with its own beach of white sand. Every employee we talked to and/or asked for any assistance were always very helpful, polite and went above and beyond to make sure that we were happy. After a week at this awesome place, nothing but more positive comments. The staff never seemed put out to assist us, and they even found and returned my Fitbit that I had taken off to get into the water, and left on a table poolside. We also wanted to mention that we were very lucky to have been served in the Mainstay Tavern by one of the best and friendliest waitress/bartender, Heather, who went above and beyond to make our experience the best possible.

We just returned from a week's stay. Rooms are clean & nice. Small fridge, but no microwave. Pool area is nice & so is the beach. But, 1 pool employee is obsessed with making sure all drinks are a certain distance from the pool edge. As for meals, we suggest going elsewhere. The eggs on the breakfast buffet are not good at all. They have a prime rib buffet & we found the food to be mediocre. Hotel staff is nice & helpful.

I came here with my sister for a work conference. The room was nice, although not ready well into the afternoon, and everyone was friendly and nice. The Wi-Fi was awful… Cut in and out constantly, but wasn't tremendously inconvenient. Food and drinks were good. There is a really cute park next door you can walk through to the beach and back to the hotel.

This is a hidden gem. No traffic at all compared to Clearwater Beach. Employees at every level have worked here for many years… it shows in their happy friendly service. The restaurant (Rusty's) is rated one of the best in Clearwater area. Love this place!

Stayed there over Mother’s Day weekend. Everything was perfect! Loved the shower and the great soap! But after grabbing a towel and drying my body off, I felt like I was rubbing sand paper on me. The towels were ruff. Need fabric softer!

I get hotel could use some updates. Nice staff. Be ready for high priced food. Stop at a grocery store and pack-in food when you come from the airport. They have you trapped on the island, food wise. Nice beachfront and pool area. Lots to do here outside at the hotel. Travel to town free on the Jolly Trolly.

I attended a business meeting here. The event rooms were clean, as well as the bathrooms. The lunch provided by the hotel wasn't terribly memorable, but it was fine — the highlight being that it was on the beach. Didn't really interact with the staff, but the overall experience was pleasant.

Enjoyed my stay here for a business workshop, massive amounts of shoreline to walk in the evening. My room had a great view of the water, and people were very friendly too. Room was clean and well appointed too. Will easily come back for another stay!

We stayed here 2 nights and then spent our third day of vacation on the beach at the resort after we checked out. The resort allowed us to use the gym showers AFTER our day on the beach even though we had checked out that morning! We were so grateful because we had made reservations and didn't have time to check into our next hotel and shower. Great customer service all around at this resort. Good breakfast buffet at a reasonable price.

This is absolutely the best place here. Clean well maintained grounds and facilities. Staff are just awesome. Helpful, yet respectful of your time and space. And the Beach.

Not a 4-star hotel by a long shot. It is a decent resort with a great location and nice people, but there is no way it can be accurately described as '4-star': the room was dilapidated with old carpet and the bathroom was TINY, literally just a tub and toilet with the sink outside. This hotel should be 3-star at best.

Very good hotel. But it stayed then in time… Pretty old. Excellent attention. No complaints.

Pleasantly surprised at the amenities offered and the location in the heart of things! The beach is HUUUUUGE! Luckily, they offered my husband a golf cart ride to get him out to the surf and back! Made new friends in the evening around the fire. Loved the number of quality restaurants close by — especially the Columbia! Make reservations early! Traffic was an issue as well as parking when leaving the property. The property is older, but refurbished and quite nice. Some rooms do not have wonderful views (roofs or tennis courts), but I felt like the additional amenities the property had over others made up for this. All the employees were gracious and helpful. I would recommend the Sheraton Sand Key.

Beautiful location next to Sandy Key park. Walk straight out to the beach with an unobstructed view of the ocean. Great Cafe for lunch. Lovely dinner in Rusty's. Comfortable bar for relaxation. We really enjoyed sitting around the fire ring in the evening.

Nice hotel with carpeted floors in the rooms. Great location to the beach and good starting point for activities nearby. The sunset is an experience here.

Wonderful food and service! I stayed again in January 2018: excellent room, food and service! The addition of the fire pit was a great perk! Also loved that you can use the jolley trolley! Highly recommend the Sheraton at Sand Key!

Great hotel, with the best beach in the world in my opinion, right behind it. Beautiful sunset, plenty to do, great rooms, the list goes on. Definitely coming back, one of my all time favorite hotels. Can't be beat at the price. The strong point is the gym and the variety of activities from swimming in the ocean or pool to lying in the hammock or playing beach games, the list is pretty extensive.

Great place if you're strictly interested in hanging on the beach. Good views and huge beach! We have a young family so couldn't spend the whole day on the beach. In looking for things to do nearby we struggled to find much and ended up leaving and heading back to Orlando for the remainder of our Florida stay.

Exceptional service and attention to detail. The staff, and I mean all the staff, welcomed us everyday and everyone we enter as well as excited the hotel. David the amazing front desk associate that checked us in was friendly, warm, and funny. He was delightful and deserves a customer service award for the help he provided us at check in and whenever we had any questions related to the area or food, as well as transportion alternatives. The hotel itself is quite clean, smells better than any other hotel I have stayed in, and had great amenities. Rusty's Bistro had great service and great food. Having something different every other day for the buffet was a treat. The hotel room was spacious, with beautiful views and soft linens that helps anyone fall to sleep or relax in a jiffy. Would stay here again when we travel back to Clearwater.

Great location, has a private beach and nice pool area, however the hotel needs some renovation and the room is pretty small. The gym is not open 24 hrs. There is no tall mirror in the room and you can clearly hear outside inside. I had a package delivered to the hotel and got charged for $15 as a handling fee. I expected accepting a package for guest is free because I never got charged at other hotels. And when I called before I arrived about whether they can accept packages, I was not informed of the charge.

This place is great, Holly helped us whenever she could with a smile on her face, her customer service skills make me want to go back… I have not had hotel customer service like this for quite some time. I highly recommend this hotel. The rooms were very clean and all the staff were super polite.

Nice hotel. Very clean. Love the pool & fire pit. Nice view of the sunset and direct access to the beach. We ate at one of the restaurants inside. Pretty good & not crazy expensive. If I could suggest one thing it would be to put a mini fridge in all of the rooms. That's the only thing I was missing. We will stay here again!

My husband and I recently celebrated our 10 Wedding Anniversary in Clearwater and stayed here at the Sheraton. I was very impressed with the facility. It was very upscale and offered a great deal of amenities. The photos on the website does not do this place justice… it is amazing! The staff was made aware of our anniversary prior to our arrival, we were surprised with chocolate covered strawberries and champagne inside of our room. Everyone was extremely nice and we had an opportunity to dine at every restaurant and would highly recommend Rusty's as well as the others. The pool area was also wonderful and we'll kept. Our room was phenomenal and clean! I plan to return to this location again! Thank you for such a wonderful experience!

My brother works there and Mr. Kimball, the general manager was very gracious and allowed us to stay there during Hurricane Irma. We live full time in a travel trailer so his generosity was awesome. Also, the hotel staff is great, food is awesome and in general the hotel is beyond awesome. I would recommend this place highly. Thanks again Sheraton and Mr. Kimball!

Really nice place with the friendliest staff. Everyone was so kind and helpful and just great people. Some might complain about the walk down to the beach, but I personally loved it. Great exercise. They do offer a golf cart lift if you need it. We will be back.

The staff is very nice and accommodating, that is the plus. The beach was also amazing. The downside — Our room had peeling wallpaper, mildew in the grout of the shower, and the pool area was filled beyond capacity at all times. We dined in the 'nice' restaurant and it was awful. We paid $130 for what should have been a $50 dinner — our waiter did not know how to open a bottle of wine and I got sick an hour after eating. Overall, we were disappointed with our experience:

With the Sheraton name I was expecting a bit more than this. This feels like 2.5 star place. For the rates that the hotel and restaurants on site charge, they seem to be cashing in on the Sheraton name but without the cache of a typical Sheraton property. The food is lackluster the rooms are small, dated and offer extremely mixed views. Maintenance seems to be sketchy with multiple places where carpet seems are coming apart and wallpaper is peeling. Given the quite sizeable beach area behind the hotel, no room could have a true room on the water view. The rooms in the front of the hotel have an extremely disappointing view of the lobby/restaurant rooftop and dumpster view. With that being said they do offer a variety of activities on site and considerably less people than Clearwater Beach near Pier 60. Both the beach and the road sees far less traffic and as a result, quieter ambiance. I would not recommend steering clear of the property, just use extreme prudence when considering this place.

Top location near the beach, small price you're grounded, fourth floor room, stuck between the elevators, the air conditioning on the roof of all the hotel and your A. C. Type Motel. Communicating with two hurricanes from 4 to 8 years old. Not worthy of this type of hotel. 2 nights of Hell…

At the Island Grille, we had the pleasure of having Summer as our waitress. We were tired from travel and our kids were cranky because we were too early to check into our room, so we had lunch. She brought fun activities to the kids and brought their fruit and fries out while the meals were cooking. She also told them if they ate good and had good manners she would buy them frozen yogurt after. Thanks Summer, for everything. We hope to see you next year!

The top. Beach or swimming pool… meals at the restaurant or bar. Very well equipped rooms. Nice staff. Nothing to say!

Amazing hotel! Great service and the beach couldn't be closer. In hotel restaurants are very good but if you want amazing sea food Guppies sea food is a short hop away!

Friendly atmosphere, lots of lounging chairs. Decent size rooms with really good air con. The location is very idyllic. Right next to the beach. You can enjoy a very long walk along the beach.

We had a wonderful stay at the Sheraton Sand Key Resort over Mother's Day weekend. We were celebrating a birthday and the front desk was very helpful with arranging a few surprises. The rooms were clean, the pool area was kept nicely and the staff was very pleasant. Would love to go back soon!

We recently stayed at this resort and could not be happier with the experience. Our room was clean, comfortable and had an amazing view of the pool and beach area. The private beach is heaven. They cover all the bases with friendly staff, delicious food and drinks and lots of fun amenities. We will be back and recommend it to others as well.

Best Beach EVER! You wont find a larger beach in Clearwater, The outdoor tiki hut is great and the resturaunts inside are great! What a view! Easy to get to and a great State Park right next to the resort.

How can a place not so cheap: we dislike the cheap workers lock the cart for our luggage just for tips; the cheap stupid worker asked what we are doing and follow us just for TIPS! Can the cheap front desk not liar to us how to buy a ticket for the walk distance? Nothing is right and basically honest. From CA to NY, never meet such a cheap hotel or motel like this! Cheap+cheating!

My wife is hosting friends from all over US (including Alaska) for a girls weekend. We called 3 times to ensure their room was overlooking the water and not the parking lot. All 3 times (and as recently as two days ago) it was assured they had the room we had booked. I'm a Starwood Gold Member and we used 30, 000 points (equivalent to $30, 000 spent) to reserve these rooms. Upon checking, they were told that someone had bumped them for buying a $400 room and now they overlook the parking lot. Manager came out and did nothing but act like an idiot. Most Starwood properties are good and they like loyal Starwood members, this one doesn't. Make sure you find somewhere else to stay so you aren't subject to the same crappy management my wife put up with. Who knows, they may throw you on the street if they get a chance to make an additional $0.50! Tent anyone?

The room and service was great. There was a little confusion about breakfast but it was taken care of.

Great service. I've got a colleague and friend who comes to town 3-5 times per year and they always stay here. There service is always great when we eat, drink, and hang out at the resort. I highly recommend this place.

Location puts guests w/in walking distance of a park, small grocery, restaurants and beach themed retail stores. Jolly Trolley has a pick up point at thr redort and runs up and down the beach for $5.00 fee. Guests will find rooms are not as sound-proof as they should be. Rooms are clean and beds are very comfortable. Staff is friendly and efficient. Large sandy quad off pool and play ground has volleyball courts and corn hole game. Beach is just beyond the quad.

Service is top notch. The location is nice for the rate and right on the beach. The hotel itself is a bit old and needs renovation, particularly the toilets. I've stayed here twice and both times have had toilets for which you have to hold the lever down. It's also hard to wash in the tiny, short showers, but they work adequately.

The experience was PERFECT from beginning to end. The bellman was friendly, professional, and very informative. Our room was comfortable and the perfect size. Only issue we had was the constant high pitched whine from the refrigerator in our room. Our dinner at their bistro was beyond our expectation. Check out was easy. The views and beach access were priceless. This was a last minute decision to stay at a hotel in Clear water Beach and we're so glad we chose the Sheraton to stay at while celebrating our honeymoon!

I have stayed here twice, once was back in the 1980's as a kid and in October of 2015 with my own family. The hotel has been nicely renovated and the rooms are mostly modern. The elevators are somewhat small and dated, but not a big deal as the hotel was built in the 1970's. We stayed in a standard room which was nice and it has all the expected ameneties. We had an ocean view which was nice to look at but the reality was a little unexpected (which is why I took off a star). The room is not sound proofed very well was susceptible to noise. One night it was a fight between whomever was in the room above us. Two of the nights was noise from the pier to the north of the hotel that has shops, restaurants and other festivities. There was also a wedding in their event tent one night which was noisy but wrapped up early. The facilities are nice. The pool while a little dated and not well heated was enjoyable. The hotel has two shops, which cover basic needs but there is a more robust store about a block to the south. The breakfast buffet was basic but the food was good. Location is good. The beach is right off the pool and that was one of the big selling points for us. Also unlike many of the resorts int he area there is no hinky "resort fee" so you will not be paying extra for parking, the pool, towels, Wi-Fi, etc. It is a must to become a preferred guest (which was free).

Nice stay, would have been 5 Starts if they didn't have such high prices on regular stuff that other hotels give out for free. Daily charge for Wi-fi and I can understand a charge for breakfast buffet but 16$ plus $2 for crappy coffee (each person) a total over $40 with our tip. We went down the road and got breakfast at the great family resturant for less than half. Beach is GREAT, Great pool! We were here during a SLOW time of year, I can see the place being super crowded in peak seasons. The drinks by the pool are super nummy but about 2x the regular drink rate in town. All the staff were great to us. Would stay again if we went same time of year and we were more prepared for their "prices".

Big hotel with nice clean modern rooms. There are a few different foods options which is nice. Pool area is busy and has a pool bar. The large beach is the gem and chair rentals a are $25 a day which seems reasonable. Club lounge for Platinum SPG is really good.

Truthfully, this is a nice hotel, room & bathroom squeaky clean. Food delicious! Room Service staff. … fast and exceptional! I'd rate them 5 stars. Although, my husband and I did nottt enjoy our anniversary weekend. Highly disappointed. Looking forward to a romantic weekend… we specifically requested an Ocean/Pool view to Jasmin on the phone. Our balcony view was literally the view of a random window of the hotel and their tennis court. (Like really? It shouldn't even be considered a room to stay in? ) And Wi-Fi about $9?! Being a 4 star hotel and for the price they're charging, I was not impressed with Starwood's Sheraton Sand Key Resort. Room.

Not worth the price they are charging. The restrooms look like a closet with the toilet tightly placed next to the small bathtub. UnRomantic! There are doors that connect rooms next to each other. Theres no privacy and voices are heard between rooms. The pool is extremely small for the amount of people staying here. The food would be the only positive I can speak about. We liked the food. But I don't see how Sheraton could put its name on this property and even call it a resort. Our anniversary was not what we hoped for in this hotel. I don't recommend this place. Your money is worth more else where.

Every Staff Member was nice including the staff inside the Bistro Restaurant too… Everything was clean and the Beach was empty just under 10 peps, & that was the absolute BEST part I prob would stay here agian in the future…

Great hotel… OK beach. Context: I'm lower middle-class; and brought my family of 5, with kids (ages 8, 6, & 5). The staff deserve 5 stars. Very friendly, attentive, and accommodating. Cleanliness deserves 5 stars. We were there during 5 days of stormy weather, and the staff worked tirelessly to keep the lobby perfect. The room probably deserves 5 stars, but we paid for the 3-star room. Nothing fancy. No microwave, like the other rooms I'm used to. Ammenities deserve 3 stars. You can get pampered… but only if you can afford it. No continental (free) breakfast. No free Wi-Fi in your room. (This really irritated me. ) I'm sure the hotel restaurants are great, we just didn't have their prices in our budget. The pool was very nice, and the outdoor area too. Location deserves 5 stars. It's secluded from the party-atmosphere of Pier 60, yet close enough for a short drive, or ride to the nicer beaches. The beach is the worst. (Specifically: the beach that touches the water. ) If you're looking for the soft white sand, it's not here. (It probably is at the rear of the hotel, but storms had about 10 acres under water. No joke! But this is not the hotel's fault. ) The sand by the beach is real corse, and made up almost completely of broken sea-shells. It's private, but not worth it if you actually want to get in the water. (Drive north of the Clearwater shopping strip and pay for parking by the Dairy Queen. The beach there is heavenly. ) All in all: great hotel, ok beach.

Had the worst dining experience ever. Waiter ignored questions. One dinner can out 20 minutes before the rest of the dinners. 4 kids sat at the table starving while one adult ate. Waiter spoke to us as if we inconvienced him.

The rooms were clean and comfortable the pool was awesome with a little kiddie pool right next to it which was great for my 2 year old we were a little disappointed with no microwave in the room but the bar downstairs was able to heat up whatever we asked. My one big issue was the prices of sundries for example 3 dollars for a little quart of milk it was just unnecessary. Otherwise we had a great time.

Nice hotel, clean, staff friendly and helpful. Only complaint is the bathroom sink backed up if you ran the water.

Hotel was ok. I expected more for the money I spent. Beautiful beach. Pool was was not kid friendly and small. Hotel needs to be refreshed.

Amazing. We had our wedding here in May and it was beautiful and everyone was extremely helpful. We had a brunch at Rusty's bistro and ate there every night. The room was beautiful and we were treated exceptionally well. Wish they had valet service, but this was the only issue I had.

$9.95 for internet up to three devices. Was on the phone with tech support for 30 min. Could not get the 3rd device connected. STOP NICKEL and DIMING! Just include the darn internet in the room fee and call it free.

Friendly and attentive staff throughout my family's stay. The hotel was perfect for our family of 5, plenty for our young boys to do and stay busy, excellent drinks at the pool bar, relaxing and peaceful. Stop by the Island Grille. The staff was spot on with us and our boys (highly recommend the salmon chipotle salad).

Wonderful stay! The staff was wonderful and the hotel was very clean and sooooooo comfortable.

Just checked in yesterday. Very impressed with the first sight of the hotel, then the rest was a disappointment. I am very surprised that starwood includes this in their hotel lists. This is the second hotel I have been to under starwood and was not impressed. The outside of the hotel is nice, pool beach and grounds look great. The restaurants so far have also been good. The room however is less than expected for starwood. The bed killed my back after one night, i'm usually okay with hotel beds but not this one, I don't know how I am going to last the week. The bathroom is not up to standard for anyone. The tiles in the shower are coming off, they actually tried to put one back and made it look worse, it is filled with so much stuff it is about an inch off the wall. There is a huge stain on the bottom of the tub, it looks like there used to be slip prevention mats that just left stains. The door only locks with a bar, not good for children who can reach it, no child stafety. Pictures make the beach look closer than it actually is, not right next to pool. However, the staff is absolutely amazing. Check in staff helped out completely and was very approachable. The restaurant staff also was very friendly and helpful. They truely are Starwood! The hotel did bring up a chair for my husband who has a bad back. He is able to sit comfortable tonight. The staff makes this hotel.

The lobby and entrance hall are very nice and luxurious. The service is friendly and helpful. All of the rooms only have a glazed balcony doors and are therefore rather dark. In addition, carpet and sanitary facilities no longer match the today's requirements/expectations.
The beach is wide and spacious than before all other hotels outside the hotel. The swimming pool is usually very well staffed. In addition, the small whirlpool smells very chlorine to size. On the beach there are three beach-ball fields at your disposal. The deck chairs on the sea cost $ 25 00/day (2 chairs, 1 umbrella).
The use of the three tennis courts with complimentary use of tennis rackets is free.
Wi-Fi is chargeable. Works but in entire hotel and even on parts of the beach. It is also very fast.
The whole parking lot is free of charge for hotel guests.

Customer service was the best I ever experienced. The beach was huge and pool very relaxing. Very clean and food was good. I would highly recommend this place.

Our second vacation stay. Memorial day weekend 2014. Rooms very clean, and cool. Room service is great, Pool area so relaxing, and beach is calm and relaxing. Encounter beautiful sunsets without the crowds of pier 60. Brought our own boat this time. Sailing center across the street kept our trailer and the beach marina 3 Miles away kept the boat. Can't wait till next year.

Vacationed there 3 years ago and were going there for our honeymoon in fall 2014. An amazing place to stay.
