This was the perfect little beachy Inn. Just across the street from the beach. It's a cute cozy mom & pop place with charm not Ritz. Nice heated pool, pretty lighting at night & table & chairs outside room & common areas. Shuffle boards, bikes & Gas grill so you can cook out at night & microwave, fridge & coffee pot in room. Room was clean & bed was very comfy. Staff was very pleasant & helpful. Stay here!

The manager was really nice and understanding. The room was ok and clean the cover had a stain on it which that situation was quickly resolved. The stay was really nice we just pretty much used the room to sleep at night and stay out all day. It's only a few minute walk to the beach and strip. Only about 7 minutes to the Clearwater aquarium. We will definitely consider staying here again.

We decided to stay somewhere new this year so my husband and I booked our stay at Island Clay for our vacation. We arrived on 7-3 and that is when we realized we made the right decision. From day one the stay was absolutely wonderful! All of the staff treated us so kind and they were very helpful and attentive to our needs. The room was so clean as was the rest of the property and the location was great as we was only a couple blocks from the beach. We have already decided that next year we plan on staying here again! Just wanted to say Thank You to all the staff, you guys are amazing.

Fantastic place to stay. Clean, great service, fair prices for the proximity to the beach. Literally a 3 minute walk from our door. Would definitely use this place again. Highly recommend!

We love Island cay and the Staff. THEO personally took care of us and we loved our room. This is our second summer and we plan on making Island Cay our family vacation spot. Everything from all beach supplies, boogie boards, coolers, ice, beach umbrellas, chairs and a cart were given to us at a moments notice. The staff is exceptional. Courteous, patient and eager to please! We might do the snowbird thing here. I give island cay owner and staff the highest rating. We love it here.

Our room was clean and bed comfortable but small, no table, bathroom very small. Location very convenient, no breakfast offered but free bikes and 3 min walk to the beach. Nice swimming pool, free parking easy access. Price fair enough I guess.

The hotel is small and makes an unusual impression between the large hotels in the area at first sight. It is, according to American standards, at first glance considered halfway clean. In our very small standard room, however, was obviously cleaned sloppy. Under the armchair it was dirty and a cigarette butt was lying on the floor. No-go. The bed was extremely soft.
The staff is very friendly. The pool is okay. Nothing special. There GIBZ no safe in the room. But for that refrigerator and microwave. The location is good. No hotel in Clearwater Beach is very far from the beach.
Conclusion: Nice hotel but whence the extremely high ratings come to me is obscure.

Nice place to stay on a budget! Friendly service, cozy pool, free bicycles. Not a 5 Star, but wasn't looking for that… Great location for beach, dining, drinking!

My wife and I were looking for an inexpensive getaway that was close to Clearwater Beach. We found Island Cay Hotel to be the perfect balance of cost, convenience, and hospitality. The staff was friendly and accommodating, the room was clean (though a little outdated) and had all the appliances we needed to prep a few meals, and the pool and surrounding area were top notch. Considering all of that and a location just two blocks from the beach, the Island Cay Hotel is an easy recommendation.

The pictures are NOTHING like the ones posted on the site. When we pulled up we were disgusted by how it looks, it’s old and grimey. But we decided to still give it the benefit of the doubt. When entering the room we walked around. The bathtub was stained and extremely dirty. Paint was falling off. The bathroom was so small and for us ladies… no room to get ready at all. The quilt on the bed had blood stains on it. And there were no decorations at all so it felt empty. We ended up cancelling the rest of our stay there and found something way better. I do not recommend anyone to stay there. It is not worth the money at all.

My husband and I stayed for 2 nights. We got there early and we were told can't check in before 3. We sat in car and waited and around 2 three other families were checked in. We went back in and were told our room wasn't ready. We were not let in before 3. We requested a pool view and instead got a view of all their cleaning supplies and another view of a wall. I requested 4 different time to speak with the manager and he never did bother to contact me. For those 2 nights cost us almost 500.00. We were very disappointed. Will never stay there again.

Best place on Clearwater Beach! If you’re flying in, you don’t have to pack for the beach. You are provided beach carts, umbrellas, chairs, towels. The location is extremely convenient and you’ll be able to buy everything you need at walking distance. Great restaurants, shopping, convenience stores and the pier. You will only need Uber from the airport here. Although not a beach front hotel you do feel in the middle of paradise. The staff makes you feel like you’re staying with family. The rooms are not just clean but pristine! They pay attention to every detail, even the way they arrange your soaps and towels. The beds don’t have the gross hotel bed spreads but actual quilts. I have seriously felt like I stayed at a 5 star resort, but didn’t pay the high price of any of the high-rise beach-front properties in the area. Seriously, there is no point on staying at a Marriott-like hotel, Here you’ll actually be cared for.

Totally homey and great staff. A great place to stay on a longer trip. Super close to restaurants, attractions, food, and beaches. Also, comfortable to take a rest day after a week of fun.

Nice hotel for a family vacation. Less suited for business travel (reception doesn't open until 8, hard to get a taxi) but it's Clearwater Beach after all. Close to the beach and a food mart. I had a spacious room that had a little kitchen with dishes and a sofa. Friendly staff.

This hotel was great for the price and we really enjoyed staying here. The staff was great and we were impressed with the rooms! The pool was also very clean. The whole setup had a great beach vibe to it. 5/5 stars.

Needs lots of work. Pros: Cheap, quiet*, friendly staff that tried to be helpful. Cons: Old, run-down, dirty, smells of 30 years of cigarette smoke. I tried to like this place but there were too many negatives to overcome. The friendly front office staff gave me a different room after I complained of the smell and the water backing up in shower. Unfortunately, after the smell of the ozone machine dissipated from the 2nd room, it smelled of stale cigarette. I hate cigarettes. Also, this hotel is a block off of the main road in the N Beach area so it is much more quiet than the S area but twice the garbage crew came down the alley right behind the "master" bedroom and parked their truck right behind our window at 7:00 in the morning. Would not return.

I had a nice stay here. The rooms were clean and the staff was friendly. The room came with a fully equipped kitchen. It was also nice that the pool was heated. I would stay here again.

negative:
We were booked in for Room 126. When we got into the room, it smelled extremely unpleasant of old fat/burgers. Despite airing and fans no improvement. The kitchen was already worn out and no longer the best.
Since we did not want to sleep here, we made our complaint at the reception. The complaint was reacted to with great understanding and kindness.
We got a room upgrade and we were assigned a new room (133). We were satisfied with this as a whole. The kitchen was very clean and new. The climate itself was on the roof and you barely heard it.
The bathroom was also a bit older. The bathtub was already very worn out and a new shower head would also be great (see pictures)
The bed was too soft. This has made sleeping very difficult.

Conclusion:
If you want to live directly on the beach, you are in good hands here, if you are lucky with the room and do not look at every little thing.

Had a wonderful overnight stay. King Studio. Stepped outside right into clean heated pool. Everything was beautifully appointed. Great pool towels can be borrowed as well as sand chairs and bicycles. Would be a nice extended stay room. Can't wait to return for another quick get away. Few minutes walk to beach. Don't miss the sunset. Friendly helpful staff.

Room is a bit wet, bathroom floor no water mouth, after the bath water sprinkled on the ground is difficult to dry. Bed elasticity is very strong, feeling comfort is slightly lacking. Location is good, there is an island bus passing the door, away from the beach, and a few delicious restaurants are very close, but the most lively place is a 20-minute walk away. The lack is that there are no toiletries.

Our family came here just before Christmas to attend my brother in laws funeral. We were given a great rate on the rooms we needed and the staff was excellent. The did everything they could to make our stay as comfortable as possible. The 3 rooms we had during our stay were all excellent. Very clean and each had a comfortable king size bed and a full kitchen. We had a regular king size room, a king suite that was very nice, and a 2 bedroom apartment style room. The hotel has a nice pool area, bbq grills, and even bicycles available for you. Also walk right across the street to the beach :)

The hotel is just a 2-minute walk from the dreamlike Clearwater Beach, making it a great place for some beach days. The rooms are very small, but ok. Fehles and irons are available at the reception. The fridge was so loud we pulled it off at night:D All in all, however, we were very satisfied, as we spent the whole day on the beach.

Chilliges, young Hotel in a great Location. Pool heated, the Golf is 200m above the Road. From 1100 at the Pool, music runs at a pleasant Volume. Each Room has a Parking space in front of the House. Very quiet. The Standard Room is small and functional.

Very accommodating staff. Always pleasant and helpful. They offered free bikes, beach chairs, and beach towels for use. Great pool. Landscaping was beautiful. Only complaint was the sheets were a little rough and the shower didn't drain very well.

Wow! What a find in a perfect location! Big living room / kitchen/ dining area, the room was clean and felt like your own private condo by the beach. The pool area has a tropical feel with a beautiful waterfall. My sister and I enjoyed the free bikes every morning for a nice ride through town. Directly across the street and a 3 min walk is a white sandy beach that is truly in the best location of Clearwater Beach. The free beach chairs are a bonus! Upon checking in I bumped into the manager Taz, what a gem he is! His attention to detail to make sure you have a pleasant stay is refreshing, he makes you feel like your part of the family and couldn’t make our stay more enjoyable, you don’t get that from a big hotel chain. I will most definitely stay at Island Cay again and again. Thanks Taz for making my stay memorable, so happy I found this place!

Lovely, homey, comfortable atmosphere! Rooms are clean, staff is friendly and accommodating. So close to the beach and other attractions yet far enough away to be private. We will stay here every time we are in Clearwater!

Wow the staff is amazing. Room were great, pool was great, very clean, nice laid back place to stay, just cross the street and your at the beech, One of the girls working at the front desk came out to the pool to give us a hug to tell us she would be off the weekend to have a great weekend. I was grilling out one evening in realize I didn't have any mayo. I went to the front desk in a guy said no problem I'll get you some He had one of his workers run up the street on his bicycle and got me a small thing a mayo. That's just how accommodating they are to people. We look forward to coming back.

Was okay as hurricane relief from no power but very tiny room… Charming little place very friendly helpful staff… Close to beach and great area for walking around.

Loved the large living room /kitchen area. Beds are so so — they are soft and I prefer firm. I would have given it more stars, but our closet did not have any hangers and they did not have any dresser drawers. They had sun umbrellas and chairs to borrow for the beach. Beach was one block away, easy access. Friendly staff. Small (tiny) swimming pool.

The place was very comfortable. Few minutes from the beach. We stayed in a studio, which provided all the amenities we needed. The landscaping was gorgeous. Staff was very nice and friendly. Definitely would recommend to anyone. As a travel agent if your looking for a great affordable place in Clearwater Beach, this is the place to stay.

My husband & I stayed here for a few days recently, and cannot fault the property. We had a suite and it was very spacious. Being self contained, it provided the option of self cooking etc if you wanted to. There was a pizza store across the road which provided a quick option for a meal, and a trolley stop just outside the door. The staff went above and beyond offering suggestions of restaurants, use of beach supplies, and no question was a hassle. The self use laundry was also very handy. We will definitely return if we are in the area.

So clean and cute! Staff were all great and very helpful. Price was fantastic, and the location can't be beat. Short walk to shopping and restaurants, even shorter stroll to the beach. The room was lovely and quiet, the bed so comfortable — my weekend getaway was perfect. I will go back here as often as possible.

Prices are very super reasonable even in the the high vacation times. Has been here at least 5 times and the lady at the desk Shonda is always there they're very accommodating it was always nice and just a short walk to the beach nice places to eat just around the the corner super local little area all you need for all your little vacation especially like the room that has 2 bedrooms in the kitchenette nice TVs in the rooms are always clean… I'll always stay here if there's a vacancy. Also the beds Are just amazing.

Excellent! Excellent! Excellent! This is the absolute BEST of the "mom and pop" or independent style hotels on the beach! The hotel has rooms for smaller standard hotel rooms all the way up to 2 bedroom condo/suites. They range from $80 night to $250 night. I found out they have a Luxury Line which is like Sandpearl Rooms, seriously. Beautiful hotel, beautiful people always willing to help our family and genuine and true. You can see the beach from the hotel western side. No beach view rooms, but literally a 2 minute, convenient walk to 3 access points or walk a few minutes south to the Pier 60 area where all the activity is. Great peaceful place, but next to all the activities. Loved it and loved the pool and spa area as well! What a change this hotel has made in the past couple of months since I was there last! Be back as a loyal guest and wanted everyone to know! Thank you Island Cay for making our experience one to remember!

My husband and I stayed at Island Cay for three nights. Our room was smaller than I expected — but for just two people it worked perfectly. The bed was the most comfortable I've ever had at a hotel! We could walk to everything, super quick walk to the beach. We will stay here again!
