This hotel is the epitome of sprezzatura. The old Italian art of nonchalance, not having people see how hard you try. The decor is youthful good taste but doesn't look like it is trying to be cool to be cool. The restaurants have simple menus with both interesting choices and old standbys. Their rooftop bar has just wonderful drinks both alcoholic and not and I think the best view of Manhattan that I've seen. The decor again is youthful but with good taste — but no pernicious hipsters here.
Honestly, I don't want to stay anywhere else the next time I go to NYC. The room was so quiet and room amenities were tops. Soft sheets, fluffy towels, daily housekeeping, plentiful bath products.
The Panorama Room was such fun. Everything that came out of the kitchen was super tasty. The staff were all so friendly and WOW — the restaurant staff worked so hard (and efficiently) and were so kind.
The hotel was absolutely amazing! Pristine conditions, views that will keep you wanting more (we were on the 16th floor) and the amenities were quite close by.
Unfortunately the subway wasn’t operating at the time which made traveling a little bit more challenging when exploring NYC, however, the cable car was really nice and the hotel itself is quite close to both the cable car and subway, along with other places like restaurants, cafes and grocery shops.
