I would not stay at this BED BUG INFESTED PLACE. And Sandi, the hotel Manager is ok for the most part. But she doesn't know how to treat PEOPLE WHO WORK THERE. the ladies who do work there work there behinds off. And the pay is not worth it Barely above minimum wage. And Sandy will tell you what she thinks you want to here. Such as you are going to get a raise NOT! TRUE. Or she will give you 2 or three floors and expect them to be done by 6:30 some times more than that. And she will tell you that is normal to have that many rooms to clean. never in all the years I have been in housekeeping do you get assigned 90 or more rooms to clean in an 8 hour shift never ever happened. Take my advice don't stay there the place is INFESTED with BEDBUGS.

This is a guaranteed drug fueled, kinky night of sex with both men and women! I checked in for the first time two nights ago and hadn't even made it to my room yet and already picked up two male partners. And, of course they had the connections for the party favors. If you're looking for a safe, quiet room, this isn't it. If you're wanting to be the gurl making the noise while sitting on top of dangerous men, you'll absolutely LOVE it! Prices are great and rooms are complete!

Horrid service. The sign very clearly said 33 per day and for two days time I was charged $160 for a room that was not in working order, had all but two light bulbs out and smelled like rotten fruit just outside the door. The only thing more rotten was the brunette at the front desk who not only overcharged me and wouldn't listen to reason or math, but also was clearly on drugs.

I stayed at the American Motel. Not a place for family. Alot of drugs and police activity. Manager by name of Tammy is very racist and disrespectful. The room I was stuck in smelled just like a cat litter box. Beds had cat urine all over. And guests smoking Meth on elevators. And cameras not working properly. Check with wheat ridge police to get their advice before staying here.

Nice motel! You can pay a certain amount before check out to get a few more hours! I like that.

I contracted scabies from staying in room 224. They second floor is filthy. The carpet seems saturated in mud, dirt and fluids. The walls have what appears to be blood, mud, body fluids, excrement. Garbage is scattered about including used diapers. There was animal excrement on the terrace. There were cigarette burns in the blankets. I stayed 4 days because I had a credit for the room. (from helping a friend previously. ) I scrubbed the walls with bleach and shampooed my room's carpet. I sprayed the mattress with disinfectant and used my own sheets. I was going to create a clean space for myself. I must have stirred up the parasites. I developed bumps under my skin and itching. It took me a week to realize what this was. I spoke with the Manager on several occasions. She denied the possibility of this condition coming from her Motel. She said she called the exterminator. I went by the motel and showed the desk staff my arms and explained the symptoms. The manager was not there at the time. I feel certain there is an infestation that needs to be addressed. I have not had any other close personal contact with any individual, nor have I stayed in a place so disturbingly filthy.

Sketchy Mr. McAlister we shall call him. Or maybe just poopy head lol. No that guy. Works nights. Has a cain. He really hates his job. The very one thing I take pride in is customer service. If your at work. Work. Its the one thing in your life you can be good at.

Just checked in and I already enjoy the staff and my room. Very awesome location. Secure and clean perfect for anybody needing a comfortable place to be. I would definitely recommend this location to friends and family.

Convenient, but could use a good cleaning! And though nothing happened to me it does not seem like the safest place in general. Seemed a little pricy at $64.00 a night for what you get $45 a night seems more reasonable, especially when it's cleaned by the paying customers who stay THERE! Just saying!

This place was by far the worst hotel/motel my husband and I ever paid for. Customer service doesn't exist in this place. I went downstairs for some quarters at 8:00-9:00p and this guy at the counter snapped at me for asking and rudely asked if I had anything else. I mentioned to the day shift and all she said was to ignore him. My husband is a disabled veteran so he takes his service dog with him. The lady at the front desk during check in knew about his service dog. About 3 days of staying here the night shift lady rudely yelled for everyone on our floor to hear that DOGS ARE NOT WELCOME HERE! I told her that she was a service dog and for my husband and she gave me a nasty comment about " it better be in your file down stairs. " Then stomped away. Never ever again will I stay with this company. Could be a staff issue but the customer service sucks.

The heavy set guy named richard at the front desk is a real peach I tell ya! God for bid he have to actually do his job! Very rude and not professional at all with paying customers and filing a complaint does no good because the manager wont do anything about it Because they are so short staffed. I would only recommend this place as an absolute last resort!

Although it may look kind of crazy on the outside, the motel/hotel is cozy inside the rooms. This past time in Colorado the rooms were much nicer! Also, parking in the lit areas are recommended or at least parking where your vehicle is in view from your room (other reviews speak about various sketchy characters that lurk aroimd).

The reason it get 4 stars is simply because its by far the cheapest in the Denver metro but by far not even close to the worst. Its better than decent (in bubbles voice) I like the place and get this. Check out time is 1 pm. Who has ever heard of such a late time. I thought noon was unheard of. Pshhhh 1pm.

Very affordable. But you get what you pay for. Missing tiles in bathroom. Fan and switch just dangling with bare wires exposed.

We stayed for over a week. Great staff clean room. Security was nice. Felt safe when out walking and in my room. Would stay here again.

I don't understand the negative reviews. Places like Motel 6 and Super 8 cost more with rooms that don't look as good as this. Absolutely no issues plus they have live police security driving around the parking lot at night. Comfortable beds, hot water for the showers, nice n quiet. I had absolutely no issues and this was on new years eve weekend. Definetly will be back when possible.

Disrespectful, unfriendly, rude, employees who think they are above everyone else and think they can walk right into your room. I give this a negative review, (-3) DO NOT RENT HERE! go to super 8, or affordable way better hospitality.

Its a good place to stay for a few days. Rooms are pretty nice and comfortable but restroom are a need to work on. I think their is come hair clogged in the drains which make taking a shower into taking a bath kind of a thing.

I was satisfied for the quality of the room compared to the low rate of $60/night for 2 people. However, the coffee and mini breakfast left a lot to be desired. Creamer & sugar should be supplied by the motel. If you state you provide breakfast, it should be more than a few dozen pre-wrapped assorted flavored danish packages that are all gone before 7am.

I guess you get what you didn't pay for LOL! Sliding door to balcony doesn't even close so the snow and cold just blows right in! Bathroom door is in pieces! Only one towel and no shampoo or soap to wash your hands!

Conveniently located, nice big rooms, very friendly staff, but definitely the type of place that you want to wipe down and check the pillowcases and sheets for hair to make sure they've been changed.

Grimy, sticky, dirty rooms. Constant foot traffic in front and inside the hotel all day and night. Seems like drugs are constantly being sold in and around the building. TV didn't work properly nor any of the snack or drink machines on the top floor. Extremely loud all night due to semis braking on the highway (i-70) next to the hotel. Complimentary breakfast consists of stale, boxed danishes. Customer service was rude at times and some staff members were friendly. Over all average. Would not recommend the American Motel to anyone. For the same price there are far better options. American Motel is simply an unkempt blight. If you do find yourself there, Hoopers next door is a fun bar and will allow you to temporarily forget how horrible the hotel is.

Horrible horrible horrible place I was traveling for business and went to book here. I was quoted a different price over the phone then charged in my card without my knowledge the price had raised. I requested a refund before I was even assigned a room key I guess she figured she had me trapped since I was on business. It's been 11 days since I was told it was refunded and guess what still no refund to my bank. Be very careful with these people and good luck getting a manager to speak with you they never call back!

Spent a half hour in their parking lot. Looked like they had a nice pool.

Its pretty run down but if u need drugs thats a place to go.

The old fat night auditor guy is extremely rude for no reason. I understand having rules and policies, but no reason or excuse to be nasty. He was unbelievably rude to every guest. He doesn't deserve a job with those people skills he has. He threw me out because my key stopped working.

Good size rooms… cheap rates in the area… however lots of cop activity… have seen more of the wheatridge cops than I could tell you…

Hotel about average shape for Denver which isn't saying much. In general lodging is horrible in the greater Denver area, a combination of not honoring reservations, rude staff, overbooking, poor maintenance, and in general not meeting what is advertised. This is not only "budget" lodging but occurs often in much more expensive lodging in the Denver area. Some of it is ridiculous like carpets in every place you check just needing a shampoo, trivial stuff. Take my advice — Be very careful where you book in Denver. My first job when I was 16 was being a hotel bellboy in Florida and spent several years working in tourism related industries before graduating from college in engineering. I spent years in industry and have extensive experience with maintaining large operations of all types. The tourism industry in that area has a lot to learn or they are simply gouging their customers. Prices for hotels in downtown Denver are on par with top resorts in Florida and beaches in the Caribbean — way overpriced and terrible service all over Denver.

This is a good place with decent staff. Don't believe some of the other reviews. No bugs. … People decide to live there and be shady and expect the staff to be friendly after putting up with a ton of BS from them.

The staff was somewhat friendly. We had a room on the fifth floor which we found out the Wi-Fi doesn't reach. Woke up to no hot water. Cops knocked on the door at 7 am looking for someone and then said wrong room. Wouldn't recommend at all. Tweakers in the parking lot all night too.

Other than the part of the bathtub faucet coming off and hitting my friend. And them not doing anything abput it. Leaving a bump on her head it was good.

The Customer Service at the front desk are always friendly, polite and helpfull. And, bye maids are friendly, also helpfull, and seem to work very hard to keep the motel neat and tidy. Thank you for your kidneys and hard work.

Right off the highway. Which is very convenient. Room was clean. Service was good. Except, they offer free Wi-Fi, but their Wi-Fi doesn't show up on the device. When we called, twice, to get assistance, they didn't help. But other than that, I would recommend it.

The venue was much larger then expected. It was clean. Big on bathroom cleanliness. Well supplied. Staff informative. Did not bother our party at all. Would refer it as well.

The property itself is accessible and clean. It does have its areas of opportunity in the matter of guest relations. The front desk, depending on what shift? Are nice and hospitable. However there is one male in particular who has no guest relations skills. He answers questions rudely and abuses his authority. He seems to believe that all who are guests there do not have lives, jobs or a drug addict. He treats people horrible. This was a great destination in the 80's and early 90's. The food was great, the bar was booming, it was another hotel chain then. The rooms are clean it's the guest services and the prices that seem to need the most improvement. It is definitely not 32.95 EVER! nor have I ever received that price. It's overpriced on the weekends. It wasn't like this when John Bray originally purchased the property. The current owner is hospitable and welcoming.

I don't think I really need to say anything about this motel. The place speaks for itself. The fat man who works over nights some nights, is the RUDEST SONOFABITCH I've EVER experienced at a motel or hotel. Plus the fact that this particular motel, the American, is SO incredibly shoddy; you really wonder where this old, greasy, fat man gets off treating the guests so poorly? Give me a break!

The American Motel is only for experienced motel goers. It is a rough place that is struggling to change it's image, and I wish them luck. The thing about the American is that there are far nicer rooms in every direction, and cheaper too. The staff could use to be less harsh (? ). They deal with a lot of bullshit.

Was fine affordable clean they did a good job.

This place is horrible; I dropped over six hundred bucks for two weeks at this rathole and, after returning from work, I was denied access to my room. The man behind the counter was extremely rude and obviously cared nothing for simple courtesy. My room was mistaken for another room that had some domestic dispute but that did not stop the clerk from jumping to conclusions and being extremely rude with me. He asked me how many people were in the room and I replied, "Just my fiance and I. " He didn't bother to mask his unconvinced tone and proceeded to tell me that I would be denied access to my room until I signed a paper. Eventually an apology was given, after the matter was cleared up, but it certainly left a bad taste in our mouth. We left two days early but left the front desk know that some packages should be coming in the mail. After confirming the packages arrived, I let the front desk know I would be there the next day to pick them up. Somehow, I wasn't surprised to find out that, despite being told they would hold onto them for me, they were not there. I also seriously doubt that the elevators are up to code. I would not recommend this place to anyone.

I can't find a phone number to contact them by. How can you stay there if they don't even give you enough information to call them.

This place should burned down in a controlled fire by the fire dept, with all the meth heads still inside.

Safe, peaceful and bug free I personally liked the room the bathroom has a heated lamp no bugs. The woman that works here are constantly busy, but she made time to greet me with eye contact and smile and to welcome me and thank me. I have a spectacular view of the pool, my balcony sits above the pool beautiful view at night. The room was nothing bad funny smell of mildew but it's a good room for the price it is. I enjoyed my first night and I'm staying for another night. :)

Bedbugs by the billion. Seriously. It was like a horror movie there were so many. Staff is exceptionally hostile, especially the old hag who manages the place. Very extremely RightWing. Prepare to be blasted with Fox News while standing in line to pay. Entire building crawling with dope fiends, tweakers, crack heads and other assorted weirdos. Childen running halls pounding on doors and shrieking all night longn.

Poor customer service was waiting in the lobby for 25 minutes just to get a room worst place I've been to.
